The comparison is off so there's no point discussing it.
The killer has to bring:
- TWO perks as the KILLER (in a 1 vs 4 game) for the combo.
- needs to break TWO pallets to activate Spirit Fury.
- needs to get stunned (smart survivors will predrop when they know or expect you to have it)
And even then you won't get the hit if another pallet or window is near-by.
Example (skip to 1:33)
https://youtu.be/LvBpLKORfs4I meant to pre drop as I knew he had it. The pallet still connected with him yet I could just vault the window behind and as you can tell by the first updated HUD this was with the de-sync issue.

I've actually seen quite a few people say it and it just boggles my mind.
You gotta be kidding me hahaha... Nobody who understands the idea of BBQ wants it nerfed. It promotes healthy gameplay so no matter what people say against it - it's not valid.
-
Not sure if "people" is the right term considering it's really just 1 person (that I know of)... cough....
-
When I was new to the game (winter-2017) I would often play even hours after getting tilted so at some point I would notice that my mood outside the game would suffer (mostly from the toxic messages after most killer matches).
However since I fell in love with the gameplay I ended up looking for a healthier way to enjoy it.
One step was playing both sides equally since solo survivor is more frustrating while killer is more stressful so consuming the negative aspects of both sides equally somehow balances it out and keeps the overall "tilt-o-metre" low - as funny as it may sound.
On top of that I typically stop a DBD session after having a couple really good matches so the "most recent" experience remains a positive one.

Shes also the only killer who encourages pure raw skill. If you want to play her you have to be good as her skill floor is through the roof. Thats why most people rarely complain about a good nurse because you gotta respect the work they probably put in. Id say more killers like nurse would be good compared to say pyramid head doctor or freddy. Just hold m2 at loops.
A few things:
1) Not every Nurse player that wins plays her well. Most Nurse players intentionally try to slug the entire team at 5 gens to make up for not hitting her skill ceiling and due to her ridiculously strong power she WILL slug you eventually even if the Nurse player messes up a lot of blinks and getting let's say only 60% out of her potential.
That's why I couldn't care less about how much "skill" she requires. She is literally so strong you barely have to make it past her skill-floor to be able to win games by playing the typical slug-them-all-at-5-gens-Nurse.
2) Pyramid Head is -by far- the most strategic and mechanically demanding projectile killer in the game with a skill ceiling that (imo) nobody has even hit yet (including Otz). His skill ceiling requires you to think outside the box* and analyze the map literally 100% of the time.
You also have to analyse all survivors and their movements individually to evaluate whether they're likely to bait a vault/pallet or even a narrow hallway or not as his POTD is (more) risky to use (than Nurse's blinks) against people that just hold W when you miss.
Nurse can nearly instantly close the distance and try again after messing up a blink. Pyramid Head has to chase after you and close the distance with his lousy normal movement speed after standing still for multiple seconds and giving you a 8+meter headstart (POTD default range).
You also have to constantly evaluate when and how the map allows you to go for a shot with no line of sight with the lowest level of risk (i.e. going for a prediction shot on the outside of the map results in less distance for the survivor if you miss than inside the map as they can hold W to every direction and make distance as opposed to outside-loops where they're forced to go right/left around you.
In my opinion Pyramid Head has easily one of the highest skill ceilings in this game.
* = what I mean by thinking outside the box and analyzing the map while chasing someone:
https://youtu.be/J60jLRRc9JwBut yeah: Pyramid Head is clearly "BrAiNdEaD"
-
I mean yeah... If there's no flashlights to destroy your web she's definitely a strong and very strategic killer.
She may not be a mechanically demanding killer but she sure requires patience and strategy. You start chasing someone without a solid trap-web? You're done for.
You keep calm and re-trap all common spots (and obviously hooks) against survivors who don't destroy your webs while you're carrying someone and have no flashlights? They're in for a rough / frustrating time.

Same and I even use better together too, but it only seems to attract my teammates whenever the killer is following them
I tried that combo, too! I used Better Together + Prove Thyself for 2 days and out of all the matches I played there was literally only 1 single default skin Claudette that understood what to do.
Now I'm running Prove Thyself with Bond instead. If people refuse to come to me I'll come to them instead.
That seems to work more consistently. Also Bond provides so much information throughout the match it's incredible. One of the best solo perks in the game imo.

then let's fix him? Hello?
You're asking a mod to change in-game content ? 🤔
-
I feel you. I'm even running Prove Thyself and people will still run past me all the way to the chest across the map, then to a random totem, then to the killer's living room to check out their sick Pokemon card collection and even afterwards they'll still ignore me on the gen.

Someone had an interesting anti-camp idea that I think got shot down instantly.
I think the person suggested that if the killer is "within a very close proximity to a hooked survivor while the chase mechanic isn't active" the remaining survivors receive a buff to repair speed.
If a survivor wants to abuse this anti-camp mechanic by looping around the hook it won't work as the killer will be in a chase. So basically:
Killer defends the hook against aggressive survivors that loop around the hook?
Gen rush mechanic won't activate because of the active chase mechanic.
Killer just hovers around the hook doing nothing?
Gens will go even faster allowing all 3 other survivors to escape even if the killer facecamps the very first hook at the very start of the match.
This "anti camp" mechanic would also not be an issue in terms of the EGC unlike the popular idea of stopping the hook timer.
One issue I see however is generators near a hooked survivor. What if let's say there's a 90% gen near a hooked survivor?
You can't expect the killer to leave so how can this issue be solved? Gens can't progress near a hooked survivor? This would just make killers hook survivors near gens on purpose so they can camp the hook until they die while the 90% gen can't be finished.
Not sure if the repair speed buff to the other gens on the map could make up for this.
Not saying this idea should be implemented ASAP.
Just saying I found the idea interesting.
-
My killer story:
First killer I mained was Huntress (until Leatherface) was released because I liked the idea of having a ranged attack but Leatherface was just so much more interesting because of his instadown combined with complete movement control and his potential to create deadzones quickly using his chainsaw.
So when the devs released Bubba I decided to main him until basically now.
Originally I meant to switch from Leatherface to Pyramid Head immediately the second the Silent Hill chapter was revealed (via the trailer) because the Silent Hill franchise has a very personal meaning in my real life and my past but although I played Pyramid Head since day 1 of his release I couldn't get myself to actually "main" him for a while because I got so used to having an instadown over the course of the years.
Imagine maining Leatherface from his release until now (I really mean it as in basically playing as him only) and then switching to a killer that has to hit you twice.
Pyramid Head felt awful for me at the start whenever I faced strong-ish survivors (and right now I'd still honestly say he's far weaker than Leatherface after Bubba's rework) but after playing PH for quite a while now (total) I'm starting to feel more "comfortable" calling myself a Pyramid Head main slowly but surely.
My survivor story:
Originally I played multiple survivors but ended up sticking to David King after the Howling Ground event 2018 as I unlocked the red/golden jacket.
This jacket was then given to all players at some point so sadly it has no meaning anymore. But that's why I main David to this day anyway.

I mean, she is hard to play. At least for me trying to learn her and understand why my blinks get cucked for no reason.
She definitely is harder to play than most killers. I worded it poorly I guess.
I meant it as in I dislike how people justify all the mediocre Nurses that miss a million blinks but make up for that by team-slugging at 5 gens until all 4 survivors are finally on the ground using this exact reasoning.
-
It's a natural feeling as you subconsciously know survivors have to mess up (which they luckily do consistently) and lurk around instead of looping and doing gens aggressively.
However since most survivors are below average you typically win as killer once you've got some experience.
As a result you win pretty often but still feel like "something's not right" when 4 survivors with similar skins and items join the lobby.
It's because most killers in the game are pretty useless against strong survivors so you pretty much have to hope they mess up or got a weak link otherwise you might as well open the gate yourself regardless of your skill - unless you play a strong killer flawlessly with a strong build, of course.
By strong survivors I'm referring to the level of Sawpalin, Exlelite, their teams, SalGul (korean streamer), ZubatLEL etc.
If all survivors played like them even the best killers would probably have a 35% kill rate give or take.
-
It feels like it's on for me, too.
If I play Bubba or Pyramid Head I expect to see tbagging Object of Obsession survivors at the start of the match.
Most of the time I can tell they're not new (unlike many red rank survivors these days) just by the fact they'll all wear 4 colorful or similar skins and 4 (strong) items.
Then when I look for a lobby as Legion (haven't played them since their rework) I will immediately get a lobby of 4 default skin survivors with no items.
Maybe that's why streamers often face potato survivors, too. Most streamers rotate between killers.
Obviously everything could just be placebo.
-
Bloodpact: Currently my favourite perk because of its "co-op" concept.
Yes, it rarely provides much value as a solo survivor (because no one cares about 7% movement speed buff and no one uses the information provided by the aura reading) but I run it anyway because that's what "I" play solo survivor for. I play it for the unique moments where something like Bloodpact pays off.
I play solo survivor for those ultra rare moments of perfect cooperation with no communication as if you and the obsession were an actual team.
I've started taking it to the extreme. If the obsession is on death hook and getting chased I will run all across the map to defend them as Bloodpact lets me see them when injured with no range limit whatsoever.
If I manage to heal the obsession I will provide them the 7% movement speed buff all game if I can. I don't lose the aura reading on them as I run Bond, too.
This allows me to stay close when the obsession is getting chased. I can follow the obsession and the killer and make sure the obsession gets a higher chance of looping the killer for ages.
If the obsession (or anyone else) wants to do a gen with me I'll have Prove Thyself as well so we can get things done quickly, too.
Long story short: I enjoy coop perks.
As killer there's currently no perk I particularly enjoy in terms of the provided gameplay that comes with said perk. Most of the time you just have to run boring slowdown junk or you lose if the survivors are somewhat decent at the game. Simple as.

I think most people like or respect Nurse because she's "hArD tO pLaY" but I despise her more than any other killer in the game. Close 2nd is Spirit.
She gets to tunnel for free (I know how funny this sounds due to my current profile picture but even Pyramid Head has to do something to get the tunnel. He has to torment you and get to the cage before you get saved allowing you to hide) as the distance you get from DS is worthless against her.
Pallets and windows are worthless as well and if the map is relatively open you can't even break line of sight quick enough so at that point your entire input as a survivor is (nearly) worthless unless the Nurse player is a complete beginner.
She can pressure gens, she can end chases quickly, she can tunnel for free, she can slug everyone even if it's a mediocre Nurse player as it's nearly impossible to recover from a slugging Nurse once she gets the ball rolling due to the fact she can keep slugging people and create distance between them at the same time making it near impossible to get someone up before she downs someone else and returns to said slug. Most of those slugging Nurses run Sloppy Butcher as well further contributing to that playstyle.
Due to the distance she creates between the slugged survivors she can also chase the next survivor and miss her blinks numerous times and still win which is why I don't accept the "bUt ShE tAkEs SkiLl" argument.
Obviously that's just my opinion so don't feel personally attacked if you main Nurse. It's just 1 opinion afterall.
-
It depends.
If survivors actively swarm around for bodyblocks or flashlight/sabo plays then slugging the entire team is just your direct reaction to their actions.
If you're -on the other hand- playing the typical 0%-skill-slug-them-all Nurse (aka most Nurse players) then spin on my slugged body for 3 minutes and 59 seconds before picking me up just so you can bm me a few more seconds by slapping me on the hook while nodding like crazy then yeah, you're toxic.
-
How is Deathslinger or Huntress more difficult to master than Pyramid Head?
Personally I think there isn't even a single person who has mastered Pyramid Head. Not even Otz.
-
I respect any killer except Nurse. She quite simply shouldn't exist. Singleplayer design in a multiplayer game.

Lol how many hits do you get because people panic about your ranged power? I stopped playing him because I got bored of him when I got to green ranks so I've never really tried him against top tier survivors
I know you didn't ask me but it's pretty much as @Zozzy said. Against strong survivors you will mostly zone and go for the M1 as they don't give a damn about the shockwave.
They know you can't immediately shoot even after planting the Great Knife (built-in delay).
They know exactly how at what distance they can casually dodge the shockwave or even vault before the shockwave hits you.
They know you have no power the second they loop around elevations like the stair-loops on Hawkins.
Against top tier survivors like Exlelite, Sawpalin etc you will mostly zone because they will abuse the hell out of you by just holding forward if you dare miss a shot or two.
However if I notice someone is not even looking behind them I too will go for prediction shots through the wall and feel like a god haha...
-
Quote: "The most interesting part of playing as him is the constant stress. It's really scary when you miss your rites of judgement on someone, I don't know why."
Missing a Punishment Of The Damned shot is stressful because it severely punishes Pyramid Head as you're forced to stand still for 2.25 seconds while the survivor runs away and makes a ton of distance. Just ask yourself: How many killers in DBD literally "stand still" for multiple seconds after each use of their power?
Playing as him is basically like playing a sniper sitting on a "Silent Hill" for days waiting for their target. You know that -against good survivors- missing a couple shots will cost you the game so you have to make it count.
You have to prepare your shots carefully and keep the depleting Rites Of Judgement bar in mind while preparing to flick that shot precisely to the window or pallet that the survivor is possibly aiming for.
On top of that you have to study each survivor individually as some people are more likely to "bait" let's say a vault than others and since your "calibre 0.50 sniper-shockwave" takes a while to hit the target you will have to learn to take factors into account such as distance to the target, angle etc. before you can accurately decide when to go for a shot (or not).
Last but not least since his shockwave is not a moving projectile unlike Huntress' hatchets he doesn't get carried by "bs-latency-hits" further contributing to the "sniper comparison".
That's what it feels like playing as him in my opinion.
-
I've recently had my best game ever in all my years playing DBD.
I beat a "sweaty" SWF team that brought:
- 2x Object of Obsession.
- 2x Prove Thyself.
- 2x toolboxes one of which had a Brand New Part in it.
- Map Offering.
- 3x Dead Hards / 1x Head On (you know how SWF teams use it on coms)
- And most importantly the team consisted of "high hour players" such as a 6400 hour player with an "average" playtime of 15 hours "per day" according to their profile statistics. Steam profiles spit out quite a lot of information not gonna lie.
Hell, that's more hours than I have even though I've been an active player myself since winter-2017.
Anyway as I said I looked up their (obvious) steam names on my phone after beating them and realized they were literally "dedicated survivor mains", too. It said that on their profiles.
Their profiles also had like all kinds of "anti-killer" statements describing how they want to make killers salty for whatever reason. One statement went like this "please leave a salty killer comment below" or something.
Shortly after looking up their profiles they set their profiles to private.
I guess it broke their egos to get beat by a "cOnSoLe KiLLeR" who didn't even run a full meta build and despite fps-drops (one of which I clipped as it made me run into a wall mid-chase).
-
I think keys shouldn't even exist - at all.
It's a PVP game, not an offline game.
The killer is a real person so if you fail your objective as survivor you deserve to lose. Survivors should never escape because of an item.
Imagine the killer was about to lose but BEHOLD ! there's an item that instantly kills survivors with 1 click of a button (with no chase requirement) because the killer randomly found an item.
Would you still say that's fine because "it's quite rare" ?
-
@aEONoHM said:
Yeah, sorry killer mains. Dead Hard is not powerful enough to warrant a nerf. You only hate it in the hands of competent survivors, but then competent survivors know how to maximize the usage of each of the exhaustion perks.
Aim at something that actually needs a nerf. Although with OoO and DS being spanked a bit I'm not sure what that leaves you to gun for. Or is that why DH is on the menu now?
Competent survivors don't need Dead Hard (or any other exhaustion perk for that matter) to hold a chase.
-
Dead Hard iframes basically counter every killer power in the game.
What you forgot to list was:
You can dead hard through a Doctor's shock to get a window/pallet vault or pallet drop while he gets slowed down / punished despite playing his power correctly.
I've said it multiple times and I'll say it again: Dead Hard is singleplayer-game design in an asymmetrical PVP multiplayer game. Terrible design.
-
I mean... Obviously you can use it but don't expect the killer to play the match in a fair and fun way. (in b4 all killers play sweaty all the time anyway)
I usually meme with people (if let's say someone accidentely gets locker-sucked near a window) and give hatch or gate to the last survivor or even 2 survivors (if someone dc's) if I win the match.
That principle goes out the window if I see an object user (or even multiple object users) at the start of the match.
-
Why though? I just want to play the game. I couldn't care less about what some random stranger thinks about me, my playstyle, my mistakes or 200 IQ moves in-game etc post game.
-
People who actively play killer on a high level regularly encounter Sweat-With-Friends teams.
Since the game is not even remotely balanced around 6000+ hour SWF teams with brand new parts, multiple Object of Obsessions combined with meta stuff (no, these teams are not rare at all for me) active killers will -at some point- bring gen focused builds to have the slightest chance of winning as "skill" doesn't matter when gens pop left and right despite consistently quick chases.
Against bad survivors anyone can win as perkless Legion while eating a sandwich.

Cuz i witnessed 5 kilers today who went afk after the gates were open. Again i cant blame the killer i do that too
There's no gameplay whatsoever once the gates are open assuming the survivors are there so I'm fairly confident it's not bannable.
-
What kinda question is that?
Why would it be bannable for the killer to go afk when the gates are open?
-
If all 4 survivors immediately- and only do gens at all times whenever they can? Yes, yes they do go too fast.
That's not even debatable in my opinion.
-
Trickster has like... The lowest lethality in the game so I doubt he will ever be able to slug any teams outside of potatoes that would have died anyways.
-
Deathslinger is one of the strongest killers in the game in terms of chases.
Even strong survivors will often go down quickly against an experienced Deathslinger depending on your aim.
His biggest weakness is his lack of map pressure and gen defense since he's a 110% / 4.4ms killer.
Therefore I think you should definitely run something to hold the gen progress back (this basically applies to all killers but even more so for him).
The perk "Surge" is currently in the Shrine Of Secrets for 2000 shards. It may not be a meta perk but it works well with Deathslinger as its activation radius is 32m and requires a basic attack.
Since Deathslinger's gun shots are considered a basic attack you can just shoot people and regress all gens in a 32m radius without having to walk to them.
Deathslinger can't travel between the gens quickly so he needs stuff that works regardless of mobility making Surge somewhat interesting on him in my opinion.
Another plus of his weapon shots being considered a basic attack is you can run Devour Hope on him and effectively use it with your ranged attack.
So maybe:
- Corrupt Intervention (slowdown regardless of mobility)
- Surge (mild slowdown that works with your gun)
- Devour Hope (ranged instadowns after 3 stacks. Basically iri-head Huntress on steroids since he's got no windup time unlike her)
- Undying (to defend Devour Hope for a while and possibly find your first chase quickly due to the aura reading on dull totems)
This build basically holds the gens back early on, possibly reveals the aura of someone allowing you to get into the first chase quickly, forces people to cleanse at the very least 2 totems (those seconds can make the difference), mildly regresses gens via Surge and allows you to snowball via ranged instadowns if they don't find your cleanse the totems quickly.
I'm not a Deathslinger main so this is most likely not the greatest build but you could give it a "shot" anyways.
-
One doesn't simply play solo survivor at night expecting to get a normal match.
If I play survivor at night matchmaking basically doesn't exist. The only red rank besides me will usually be the killer so... Yeah.
-
As @WishIcouldmain said: People check all kinds of killers on the PTB to test if everything's working correctly power-wise and obviously also to test the new perks and new builds on old killers.

He is saying that they can, but that ignoring someone else’s fun and bullying them are different things. And he also said that there shouldn’t be any bullying from both sides so I don’t see why you ask.
Ignoring survivor’s fun means that if I feel like a need to camp a hook to gain an advantage, I will camp.
Bullying you is slugging you and watching you crawl when you’re the last survivor alive without even closing the hatch to fulfill some sadistic pleasure in your bleed out timer going down while I know I’m wasting you personal time. You see, that doesn’t win me the game because I’ve already won. I’m just doing that to make you feel powerless.
Btw the difference between the two things is supposed to be a basic notion in real life, not in some videogame.
edit: grammar
Very well put.

All 5 gens can pop in around 3 minutes even in solo queue and even without toolboxes.
Therefore killers slug whenever they see a chance to keep up with the pace of the game.
It's that simple really. If you get slugged consistently just bring Unbreakable.

Nurse is stronger, Spirit is more reliable/consistent.

I very rarely see console huntress/deathslinger. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a red ranked console pyramid head. It’s usually the more mechanically simple killers which is understandable due to the frame rate issues.
A weaker ranged killer who requires less precision doesn’t seem like a terrible idea or OP at all. People have been like “omg so broken” when he spams someone down but then forget huntress with a cooldown addon does it even faster. I think it just looks powerful because it’s seamless and looks like you are doing more damage when I’m sure huntress downs are way faster.
Quote: "I very rarely see console huntress/deathslinger. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a red ranked console pyramid head."
Actually, you have seen a red rank console Pyramid Head. Me.
https://youtu.be/R2Ol2kJhGIcI enjoy playing him on a controller and find his POTD-flick to be quite consistent on joysticks.
Then again I mained Huntress back before Leatherface was released so I probably just got used to clunky controller aiming at this point.

Just curious, why trying to justify the behavior of some Killers? Like, whenever a Killer player does something which is not nice, people go like "Yeah, he probably had a bad game before", instead of just assuming that this player might just be a dick?
And, in theory it is possible that the same happened to the SWF-Team - maybe they had a bad experience with a Killer before and then needed to vent?
I mean, I had two Ghostfaces lately who were really not nice. One used Agitation and Iron Grasp to get me into the Basement and then camped me while leaning with leaning Add-Ons, meaning nobody could get me. He had 10k hours, so he most likely was bored of the game.
And another Ghostface got run for two Gens and then proceeded to keep me slugged for almost 4 minutes while teabagging me the whole time.
It is quite unreasonable to think that all players who facecamp or do similar stuff got "bullied" in their games before. Especially since some players feel bullied, just when they lost the game. I have seen threads here where Killer players complained about "being bullied", because they got looped for a long time.
You got a point (as usual).
I think the reason I tend to be more understanding when it comes to rude killer behaviour is quite simply my personal experiences.
I personally rarely come across a killer who is just blatantly trying to be an arse when I play solo.
However whenever I play killer my first game is usually against a tbagging, clicky clicky Object of Obsession team so I'm honestly just biased in the way I judge toxic behaviour based on the "frequency of arses" I encounter.
-
Isn't Home Sweet Home a single-player game?
-
Nerfing slugging (again) would only be an option if we were to nerf something on the survivor side as well to compensate and I sure as hell know you wouldn't want that so I'm just gonna say: Use Unbreakable. It's a meta perk with literally no skill requirement and robs a slugging killer with the press of a button. Doesn't that sound good enough for you?

Eh, I don't think you can blame someone's bad behavior on someone else who treated them wrong/poorly. You'd don't get to yell and rant at some rando on the street because the shopkeep two blocks down accused you of trying to steal from them and be the 'victim' of the story. Well, you can try, but it's not the shopkeeps fault that you did it and your not a victim of anything at point.
I'm not saying it's "right" to punish someone else. What I was saying is I understand why killers be like that at times.
Hell, even in real life people be like that all the time. Person A annoys person B and person C gets to deal with angry-person B. That's just how people are.
