Freddy needs heavy, heavy reworking. Pretty much a complete redesign from the ground up.
I'm no game designer and I'm also not a Nightmare on Elm Street fanatic, so I wouldn't know how to tweak him. But pretty much anything would be better than what we have now. -
It's far better to take Huntress' Lullaby, since you get the extra regression regardless. Waking up is something you ideally don't want Survivors to do, and the last thing you want is for a Survivor to gen tap mid chase and then instantly wake up.
-
First one would be overpowered as ######### and still wouldn't be run, Second perk is the Leatherface dream.
-
You've still got Bamboozle.
-
DBD Community: Clown is one of the strongest killers they've added in a long time and is easily B+ tier or even A tier.
Also DBD Community: Clown is a filler killer and needs to be buffed.
Clown mains:
I mean hey if we're going to give Clown his Ultra Rare addon on base (Redhead's Pinky Finger) how about we increase his movement speed by 80% and remove his terror radius? That would make him balanced.

Jokes aside what Clown needs is a slight increase to the base duration of his slow or a slight increase to the slowing power. 2 seconds of 15% slow is ######### nothing and I almost always have to use Flask of Bleach or one of the Ether (#) Vol%s to actually catch up to people. Faster projectile speed, faster cool-down between bottles (Robin Feather / Starling Feather), or a faster base reload speed could also be nice. Slower pallet dropping or an addon to disable pallet dropping would be neato too. (Early pallets are still pallets.)
But what Clown needs above all else is something that this game has needed for awhile: better hitboxes, particularly for projectiles. After mid chapter Clown's bottles have a seemingly 50/50 chance to blow up in your face for no reason. I'm really waiting for a point that I can actually throw a bottle and know where it'll land instead of praying to the RNG gods that this buggy game actually works for once.Oh and please make Tattoo's Middle Finger a Purple item instead of Pink. It's an absolute ######### joke of an Ultra Rare and you're far better off running Ether 15 Vol% or Cigar Box over "see the auras of Survivors who are moving slow af and coughing lol."

I want to turn Trapper into the Clown
...Why not just play Clown...?
I do think that being able to throw traps would be interesting though, and would allow you to place them in unique locations. The downside is that it would be possible to throw a trap somewhere stupid and be unable to retrieve it. -
The main issue is that Killers can actually keep farming after they get their 30 vials. Add in the fact that you get way more BP as Killer anyways and most people who are done with their vials are playing Killer for dem BPs.

Clown
Thick thighs save lives 😩 -
As a Wraith player I've seen some clips of him Ding Donging his bell with that one sword cosmetic; it looks really weird.
A custom bell would make that look way better. -
While I don't think opening the gates is really that hard I do agree that 6% is absolutely pathetic. It should at least be doubled to 12%, and I think 15% is honestly ideal considering that Hex Totems grant 20%.
-
Killers literally can not get a full vial in a match unless all the survivors (except one) burns petals. Meanwhile Survivors can get more than a third of a vial from one plant. Overall I think Survivors honestly have it better off.
-
If you thought Survivors that focus on totems before gens was bad before you're going to hate that there are now 7 extra totems on the map.
Every game I'm in takes like 20 minutes more because of people hoovering up nectar. (Myself included I'll admit.) If the killer has Ruin or Sloppy Butcher or is Pig they're basically guarenteed a 4k since no one ######### does gens. -
I'm Rank 10 and queues still take 10 minutes as killer.
-
None as Survivor ('cept helping others), and BPs as Killer.
-
I saw this coming when they made the plants optional objectives instead of just making them gens. Add in the fact that you can't harvest plants when you're done with the event and people are going to be spamming killer for Bloodpoints. Which means yay long as hecc killer queue times.

You should be able to collect vials after you recieve all 30, and perhaps be awarded 5k BP for each vial after the 30th.
Or better yet: let dedicated players who want to grind get all the cosmetics? -

Can't play Killer cause lobbies are borked, can't play Survivor cause game is borked.
excuse my lack of knowledge but what the hell is Borked?Been lagging and freezing constantly ever since mid chapter update. Talked to a bunch of people who say that DBD takes considerably more GPU and CPU than before, which is probably the result of all my lag and crashing.
Optimization patch plz? -
Either Freddy or Leatherface, but if I had to be 100% I'd say Leatherface.
Freddy is very poorly designed but he could be something great with heavy, heavy reworking. Leatherface however really doesn't need to exist. We already have a "disfigured man with a flesh mask and a chainsaw" killer in Hillbilly, and Billy is objectively better than LF. Leatherface is the closest thing to a default killer without being a default killer. He only exists for his perks, and all his perks are cancerous and honestly should be removed. (BBQ put on base Bloodweb everything else removed.) -
You can keep using the hooks after you get all your vials as Killer. But it's a decent idea as Survivor.
-
7000 really isn't a lot, but I do agree that this bug should've been fixed ages ago.
-
No. Bloodpoints are seperate from Emblems. That's why you get Chase BP for staying in a Chase but lose Chase Emblems for staying in a Chase.

Yes ######### please. And for killer too?

When the next chapter comes.

"Oh no the killer is trying! What a g- f-t loser with no life I bet his parents don't love him." Do these forums have an eye roll emoji? Playing the game isn't toxic.
If they face camp or camp the plants then yeah it's a little
but trying to win isn't toxic. -
Event plants aren't objectives. Event hooks are. By sabotaging event hooks, you are sabotaging the killer's main objective.
In addition the killer can only camp one plant. There are two at base and you can get more with offerings.
If the killer is camping plants escape with the precentage of nectar that you have. Let him derank because he wanted to be an ######### instead of playing the game. -
tl;dr when you unhook someone unsafely (in front of the killer) just for the sake of Bloodpoints
-
Holding the Survivors "hostage" (by just standing in the basement and not moving forcing them to DC) is bannable but blocking them for strategic reasons (Borrowed Time counter) is perfectly fine.
-
Well if you look at it objectively Killers do four times the work that Survivors do. So no surprise they get 4 times the Bloodpoints.
-
Ghost Flashlights appear in the Bloodweb for 3000 BP. I only have one though and I have yet to see a Halloween Medkit.
-
I'm going for the full Doctor set because it looks amazing, and definetly the Wraith head. Maybe the weapon for Wraith as well, but the hole in his chest honestly looks weird to me and I'd rather have a shirt or even go shirtless with the Wax Warlock body.
Other than that? Eh I might grab bits and bobs of the Dwight set. It does look pretty nice. I like the "Reddit Dwight" set that came out when Clown was released but the vest is really nice, and the pants with the key ring look pretty okay too. -
McCote said that since Halloween is a "horror" event it makes more sense that the killers have more items?
Eh. Feels like a cop out to me.I'm a little disappointed at the overall distribution (I'd love a 50/50 split but honestly even just one more Survivor cosmetic would be great) but I do think all the skins are very high quality. And at the end of the game they are just cosmetic and I'd rather have a whole slew of choices than just get one item for a killer I don't play and one item for a Survivor I don't play like during the last events.
-
HAH! Killers having fun...
-
No I agree absolutely. On both sides this event is terrible. Not letting you work on multiple vials at a time was a terrible idea.
Good ideas, bad execution. Behavior Entertainment in a nutshell.
-
There's no Bloodpoint penalty for camping, just an emblem penalty. Compared to Survivors Killers have it way easier in terms of punishment, though to be fair farming someone is far more obvious than "camping" someone.
I do agree with you absolutely though. Game mechanics can never understand game state. I think the core concept was good but it was executed poorly.
As are a lot of things with this game.
-
Iron Grasp and Agi, my dude.

-
Report the Claud for holding the game hostage and move on.
-
Probably going to see a week long extension into this event like every event prior.

You don't lose Emblems for camping if there's a Survivor nearby. It should be common sense that you're not going to leave if a Survivor is just waiting to instantly unhook.
Taking 50% of the Survivors out of the match is a good enough reason to camp, imo. -
It was the same with other events. The thing is that other events didn't have a flat cap on the amount of hooks you could do before the event hooks became worthless (for progressing your unlocks). In theory if you get 5 event hooks in one match it means that you can only get one event hook in the next match before the event hooks are worthless.
It's also mildly annoying for Survivors that you can't S L U R P the plants when you have a full vial (for Bloodpoints) but I think Survivors have it way worse. "Hey let's make teammates fight over cosmetic unlocks! That's a good idea!"
-
My game has been freezing like hell ever since the mid chapter update, and it only got worse when the event dropped.

"Can't use perks to adapt to Survivors"
Hangman's Trick for Sabo Squads
Overwhelming Presence for Flashlights
Make Your Choice for overly altruistic players (We'll Make It)
Territorial Imperative for looting builds (Ace)
Whispers for Stealthy Survivors (P3 Claudettes)
Stridor for Stealthy Survivors
Enduring for Decisive Strike (Laurie Strode)
Deerstalker also for Decisive Strike
Knock Out also for Decisive Strike
Rancor for Decisive Strike
Save the Best for Last for Decisive Strike
Play with Your Food for Decisive StrikeThere are so many perks in this game that are designed largely if not entirely just to counter specific perks and/or gameplay styles. Yeah you can run BBQ, Ruin, Brutal Strength, and NOED every game. Just don't go crying on the forums when Jake Park sabos your hook.
-
"Literally impossible for Killer to adapt" lol go back to Rank 20 bucko. The entire point of multiplayer gaming is to adapt.
Survivor isn't supposed to have a free escape and 10k Bloodpoints every game, but Killer isn't supposed to have a 4 kills and 10k Bloodpoints every game. -
This Event is unlike any previous ones. Watch the Dev Stream Vod; they go into detail on how the event works there.
Other than that Yellow Flashlights get spooky ghosts, and Brown Medkits become bright green neon "TUNNEL ME DADDY" signs.
-
Shirtless Daddy Myers
Honestly I think Michael Myers is liable to be the first liscensed killer to get cosmetics. Some aged cosmetics (particularly an aged mask with all those grimy details) would be pretty neato.
-
Meant to still let Survivors gain distance on a vault even if they mess it up and get hit.
-
The incentive to play was already capped in other events, because once you got the cosmetic there was no reason to continue playing. That being said people still played the events, because doing event gens and event hooks would award Bloodpoints.
That's why I have a pretty serious problem with the Survivor side of the event not being generators. When the event was means to an end people were more than willing to throw their proverbial hat into the ring and do their part for dem munz while the people who didn't complete the event got some progress towards completion. This new gameplay plan for Survivor is honestly terrible, since it promotes being selfish in a team game. Want to get your vials faster? Farm all your teammates and then immerse yourself with Urban Evasion to go harvest plants!
That being said I do absolutely agree that the time cap is already enough of a cap. The crazy people who are willing to grind out this ######### should be rewarded for their dedication. And a more active playerbase is good for marketing; nothing like several players playing 24 hour sessions to boost a marketing pitch.
This event is just a slew of bad ideas. Good concepts at their core, but really poorly executed. My other Dead by Daylight friends are all talking about playing Overwatch and Rainbow Six because those games let you (gasp!) get your Halloween items by playing the game!
