  • Survivor is cute Killer gets boring after you play against him 87 billion times in a row I wish I could play without a game-breaking bug ruining the match for me.

  • They haven't changed Adrenaline in 3 years and it took them 2 years to change Streetwise: they aren't going to buff No Mither.

  • See I'm inclined to say that you're lying but then I went up against a Trapper with Iron Grasp and Agitation who carried me across the entire map just to hook me in the basement, and then (despite not having the basement bug) no one came to unhook me and I died on first hook cause "oh he's basement bugged there's no reason to save him."

It just pisses me off that it's going to take them like 2 weeks to fix this game breaking issue on top of all the other game-breaking issues that came with this update.

  • They only made 4 cosmetic sets for the four original Survivors to look like the most reasonable counterparts. TBH I'm confused why Jake didn't get a Nick or Coach set but I guess Francis makes the most sense for Jake, and it would be "racist" or whatever to make a "white Coach" or alternatively to make Jake "wear blackface."

Claudette having dark skin was a happy little accident that allowed them to give her the Rochelle set and Meg being the other female Survivor she obviously got Zoe and Dwight had to take the only logical male Survivor from Left 4 Dead 2 (since Jake had to get Francis) and got Ellis.

I doubt there will be any more Left 4 Dead sets since it's entirely up to Valve and the only thing more dead than the Left 4 Dead IP is Artifact.

  • Woah calm down drama queen.

But I do agree: everyone I talk to agrees that this game is in desperate need of an "operation health" update but bug fixes don't make money, and DLC does.

  • Halve its duration make it not tick down during a chase or while slugged.

    ez pz

  • As far as the basic attack change goes, it's the same as the Pig. It's to create consistency between powers so it's easier to understand what a basic attack is and what works with it.

Okay then @Peanits riddle me this: who's asking for Killers like Pig and Legion's power to not function like a default hit? I haven't seen anyone asking for these Killers to be unable to apply debuffs on their ability hits. Legion maybe but certainly not Pig. And if anything Killers like Pig and Demogorgon are substantially stronger because of their ability to cheat the system with Save the Best for Last. Legion meanwhile is just worse off overall for pretty much no reason.

As for mending, previously it was too easy to get stuck in an endless loop of mending (with mending times of up to 20 seconds). This left people mending most of the time which isn't exactly thrilling gameplay. There's no interaction between the killer and survivor there.

This is particularly funny because now with how fast you Mend against Legion they can often come back to you during a Feral Frenzy after you've Mended to stab you again, dus actually creating an "endless loop of mending." People were asking for Mending to be more "thrilling gameplay" by making it require skill checks or making Deep Wounds more of a threat or literally anything to make it more dangerous and less of a mild annoyance. But now Deep Wounds is a complete joke and you guys have completely missed the objective with nerfing it to make it "less tedious." It's MORE tedious now than it was before because it's a complete non-threat and you feel like you're just doing busy work instead of actually surviving. Combined with Legion's increased speed and their ability to actually chain stab more-often-than-not a Legion would run past you, stab you once, and then run off. And now you're forced to mend with zero option for intelligent counter-play since you can't strategically keep in the Killer's terror radius to keep the debuff from ticking down, which presented an interesting risk-reward between keeping close to the Killer while injured or having Deep Wounds tick down.

I really wish that you guys would just admit when you've made a mistake instead of going around in circles trying to insist that "the character just requires a different playstyle" or something along those lines. That mentality is what took us 2 years to rework Freddy after he was universally agreed on by 90% of the community that he was the worst Killer in the game. And what happened after Freddy was reworked? He was fun. People enjoyed playing as him, and he offered a unique experience when played against. He's a little too strong yes but I'd rather have one more strong Killer than for every match at Red Ranks to be Spirit, Nurse, and Hillbilly. And even if Deep Wounds wasn't a complete meme Legion still wouldn't be top tier.

  • THIS CHAPTER IS THE WORST ONE EVER IT'S POO POO GARBAGE AND BEHAVIOUR HAS NO IDEA HOW TO DESIGN A GAME 🤬 🤬 🤬

I'm not going to say what problems I have with it lol.

Deep Wounds is such a meme currently that it lasts double the duration of a totem cleanse, meaning that if Legion stabs you and you know where their totem is you can just go cleanse the totem and then run off to heal.

Who the hell thought this was a good idea?

  • He means the grab challenge in the Rift. Grabbing from a locker counts.

  • @DetailedDetriment said:

The problem is that removing it would cause Borrowed Time to need a rework as well as The Legion's entire power.

I think a great change would be to make Borrowed Time a killer distance perk instead of a terror radius perk. The main reason they're tweaking deep wound is to properly fit Borrowed Time.

They don't need to rework Borrowed Time. They can literally just change it to how it worked pre-Legion.

Yes...I want everyone to gain stuff(or have the possibility to earn said stuff). How entitled

Yes... I want to be rewarded for not doing any work and to cuck people who busted their balls to grind for these cosmetics. How entitled.

    It's 4 cosmetics. F o u r. Guido Mista is ashamed of you.

  • Funny thing I played Leatherface the other day for the basement daily and... yeah. Leatherface is honestly better than Legion right now. Leatherface can't get as many people injured I guess but he actually ends a chase semi-fast because of his instadown and fast pallet break. Legion meanwhile gets a first hit and then chases like a default M1 Killer.

There's literally no reason to play them at this point.

  • You only need two perks to be good at Legion.

Escape Key and Leave Game Button :)

  • The point of the change was to stop key resellers so I don't know why these cosmetics were being given out. There were far more people that were upset that their grinding was pointless than people who are upset now over not getting it.

TBH the only good looking cosmetic in that bunch is Untamed Donkey David, speaking as someone who has all the event cosmetics.

  • Thanks to this, Legion is completely worthless and there's no reason not to run Borrowed Time.

    :)

Best part is that I'm pretty sure Borrowed Time still doesn't work if the person who unhooks you is asleep against Freddy.

  • Deep Wounds change completely killed my hype for this update. Glad to see that Pig and Legion are still insanely overpowered and need more nerfs, right?

Seriously the devs have no ######### idea what to do with Deep Wounds, and its gotten to the point that Legion is beyond trash tier and Borrowed Time is stupidly overpowered.

Hag and Billy were splashed with blood, soe of the newer ones like spirit and plague look a bit weak on the prestige side

I haven't seen P3 Plague (on account of Plague being garbage) but I've seen P3 Demo and P3 Spirit. They're both decently bloody and actually look different from their default.

Oni meanwhile looks exactly the same as his default when P3.

  • Behaviour be like "Mmmmm Legion and Pig very OP they are. Must nerf I shall. Game too Killer-sided, must reach true balance, no nerf Adrenaline or Decisive Strike I must."

LITERALLY NO ONE asked for this change. This is the most ######### bandaid fix to a non-issue (Nemsis Legion, which is countered by not pallet stunning them) I've ever seen. Legion's purple addons are even worse than they were before, and along with the Deep Wounds mending time changes Legion is pretty much a non-threat. You are literally better off just not using their power for anything other than mobility.

  • It's not something you really consciously do, and even when you do it's only in a handful of areas so it rarely comes up in average gameplay.

  • Click the little arrows to the left of the chat to close it. /thread

  • Speaking as a Jane main Jane is hot garbage. Her model is wide, her pained grunts are loud as #########, and her perks are terrible. The only redeeming factor about Jane is that she pretty much doesn't breathe but at that point just play Kate because Kate's breathing is also super quiet.

  • Then i proceed to be toxic with my flashlight

  • Get Borrowed Time, do 2 gens unhook 2 people safely (with BT)

    That's basically a guaranteed 2 Iridescents.

  • There is about a zillion and one problems with Borrowed Time's design.

  • This is why I play Survivor Roulette. My friends get pissed at me for playing random Survivors with random perks but it gets boring to play the same Survivor every freaking match time and time again.

  • I never saw an official release date. Searching online I could only find a post from r/leaksbydaylight

  • Behaviour: Let's sell a funny meme item for the giggles. If people don't like it they just don't have to buy it.

"That Guy": REEEEEEEEEEE ######### MEMES RUINING MY STORE ######### DEVS SHOULD STOP MAKING BODY PILLOWS AND BALANCE THE GAME REEEEEEEEEEEEE

The development team and the merch store people aren't the same people, you know. 😉

  • Matchmaking in general is busted now. Thanks, dedicated servers! :)

  • Plague has no counterplay because all she has to do is lightly cough on you to basically get the full effect of her power.

Oni has counterplay in the form of "don't get hit lol." As much of a joke as that sounds if you can play stealthy around him he's a default Killer with little going for him. And unlike Plague he can't just look at you to suddenly give you the lurgy.

The problem with Oni on PTB is that he gets his power waaaaaaaaaaaay too fast. It's obtained way too fast for how good it is. Some nerfs to the charge rate as well as some changes to the blood orbs would make him perfectly fine.

  • Played her plenty pre-rework maybe. Played her plenty with Omniblink maybe.

The reason she was nerfed maybe.

  • I think Lucky Break is a good perk but it needs a little something extra to be better. As it is right now it doesn't provide much of an effect, and the fact that it can be cancelled out completely after 3 minutes of being injured is just icing on the ######### cake.

I honestly think it would do well if it was merged with other perks, notably Lightweight. If Lucky Charm came with Lightweight's scratch mark hiding effect it would be a consistently useful stealth perk. But there are a lot of perks that I honestly think need to be merged (Quick and Quiet + Dance With Me [+ Windows of Opportunity, which relies too much on these perks], Breakdown + Babysitter, We're Gonna Live Forever + No One Left Behind + We'll Make It, etc.)

It's the same problem as Huntress. It's not broken for either side; it's just broken. It's not fun for either side as a result.

But if they haven't fixed Huntress hitboxes in 2 years they aren't going to fix Ghostface.

  • Friend made a thread recently about the state of Demogorgon, and made passing comments on Clown, Nurse, Doctor, Legion, and Plague. He cited these Killers low play rates and win rates as reasons for them needing buffs.

@Peanits comes along like "uhhh akchually these Killers are hard to play so it's fine if they aren't played often and have a low win rate lol."

If the stats don't matter why the ######### are you publishing them?

  • Lol actually read through this thread. Where's my "LOL" reaction to give to the OP? Sounds like someone who's never played Nurse and never got past Rank 10 saying that "new Nurse is fine cause streamers said she was OP before and now she was nerfed."

  • @TigerKirby215 said:

Had a daily on PTB to play Legion so tested them out. Tried out the new button addons (Defaced Smiley Pin) and just ran with my usual build of Whispers + Ruin + Pop Goes + Brutal (lol all the Yuis trying to pick up pallets.) I should mention right now that I am a P3 Legion player and have played Legion at Red ranks, though not at Rank 1. (I like keeping my Rank 1 kthnkz.)

I will start by saying that Legion feels a LOT faster in a chase and a lot better when vaulting. The change to vault speed isn't too noticeable on Windows (which weren't sped up that much [0.2 seconds]) but are ESPECIALLY noticeable on pallets which you now vault about half a second faster. This is great because "the Killer that vaults pallets" is no longer countered by vaulting pallets. You can actually keep up in a chase pretty well and especially with the movement speed increase (130%, 5% more from 125%, and 20% slower than Sprint Burst) and the duration increase is a nice boost to actually let you chain stabs off on people.

With that in mind I understand why Deep Wounds' duration was reduced but I don't understand why on-hit effects were removed. There was some niche perks that Legion could run (notably Hex: The Third Seal, but also perks like Sloppy Butcher and Remember Me) that are now cut off from them for seemingly no reason. I don't think anyone was complaining about Hex: The Third Seal or Remember Me on Legion. Maybe people were complaining about Sloppy Butcher but then you guys rework the Pin addons so that they just apply to every stab beyond the first? On that note I think Defaced Smiley Pin is now a very good addon on Legion. Smiley Pin is still dog ######### but it's a Brown addon so that's okay. The Legion Pin is a little underwhelming for a Green addon and is only really good in specific builds against specific teams.

I think the anti-heal meta is going to be very strong now with Legion as Deep Wounds is pretty much a non-threat while their ability to constantly injure people is very strong. With that in mind perks that allow you to easily track injured Survivors (Bloodhound, Stridor) are going to be very good on Legion. Perks that encourage Survivors to heal will also be good but that pretty much only encompasses Thanataphobia which is dog #########. Perks that allow you to snowball very fast (BBQ, Infectious Fright, Dying Light) are also going to be a lot better on Legion now since they can keep Survivors injured and essentially play with a pseudo-instadown akin to the likes of Plague. (Akin to what Legion already did lol.)

I honestly really think that they should just remove Deep Wounds as a status effect entirely and instead perhaps make it so that Survivors who Legion stabs get a debuff to repair speeds akin to Billy / Leatherface's Begrimed Chains addon. The status effect could last for between 30 to 60 seconds, and either get stronger or reset when Legion stabs a Survivor again with FF. They could also easily change the Nasty Blade and Filthy Blade addons to either increase the duration of this repair slow or make the repair slow more potent. This would give Legion some much-appreciated generator pressure and would alleviate the problem that Legion currently has where people who don't Self Care just rush through Gens and get healed by Adrenaline. (But Adred as a perk really needs changes, so it's more of an Adred problem than a Legion problem.) To encourage healing more the repair speed decrease could also go away when a Survivor is healed, but I think that risks making Defaced Smiley Pin (and to a lesser extent Sloppy Butcher) way stronger on Legion than they are already on PTB.

Overall I do think these changes make Legion better though I think Deep Wounds is fairly redundant currently. In my match I'd get several chain stabs off and I'd see people get out of Deep Wounds almost instantly. Especially in a team / SWF environment Legion has very little impact and Survivors can easily recover from a good chain-stab. The running gag with Legion is that their existence has only served to buff Borrowed Time and I really think that Behaviour can't balance Deep Wounds so that it works for both Legion and Borrowed Time. They should either revert the Borrowed Time DW change and make the status effect more potent for Legion or rework / remove the status effect entirely.

I honestly think people who don't play Legion just see the "Deep Wounds duration decreased" change and think that it was a flat nerf. Honestly between the Defaced Smiley Pin addons being made not terrible and Legion's general chase power being increased Legion is far better overall. But I still stand by my point that it's quite obvious that Behaviour has no idea what to do with Deep Wounds and should just replace / remove the status effect entirely. Balancing Legion around the existence of a joke debuff makes them far worse than they need to be.

    @Financial_Stability said:

You can 4k at red ranks with any killer.

This doesn't make them good killers.

This has to do with the ranking system itself not judging on actual player skill, rather the longer you play the more and more likely you'd be at red ranks. Sure, Rank correlates with skill to a certain extent, but only to that. When you have the top Leatherface/Legion playing against the top SWF, you straight up don't have a chance to win more than 1 or two kills. The issue is not being able to perform at the very top, and the developers preferring to balance around regular players.

When you nerf say Nurse, the one top tier killer that can go against these steamrolling players while requiring a great amount of skill, practice, and most importantly prediction, you leave a bad taste in a player's mouth.

God knows I've had potato teammates at red ranks, so bad it makes you wonder why they're even there.

While I don't particularly think spirit's changes were bad, I think that the Legion and Nurse (basekit) rework were put into a real sorry state. Instead of addressing the problem with a meaningful solution, like how you could hold w and m1 with Legion and down people no matter what given enough time and now pretty much making him oscar the grouch tier. Or when you have what seems to be the majority of players who believe basekit Nurse was acceptable, but her addons were out of wack, then proceed to excessively nerf her basekit which then highly discourages prediction-based gameplay which punishes you to such an extent it becomes literally impossible to win on certain maps like Hawkins. Don't forget janky geometry and janky fatigues that were introduced after her rework.

These are what people are disgruntled about. I hope this helped you understand what people really are not happy about.

Also this. I always laugh when people brag about being at Red Ranks like it's somehow hard. No you just equip the meta and play around the dumb parameters that Behaviour set. Otz recently made a video where he just plays game stall Freddy to get Iridescent Emblems for the Rift and he gets 4 Iris. He didn't even play that well but he still double pipped, cause the game took forever, he killed all the Survivors, and ended his chases decently fast.

  • @HatCreature said:

So everyone has already said why this idea is bad but here is an alternative to your idea.

What if every character was allowed to use 1 perk from their own personal perks in addition to the 4?

For example: One of Dwight's personal perks is Bond so he can choose to use Bond and then use Open Handed, Kindred, Urban Evasion, and Spinechill. This build is for being stealthy and if you need heals you can find your buddy which you can find very easily and if you're on the hook everyone sees everyone. Bond isn't actually needed in this build but it's an example. Another example is that Hag starts with Ruin but then she can run an entire build free from the fear of not being able to use Ruin because she starts with it for free.

This idea wouldn't help every Killer as all of Demogorgon's perks suck(pretty embarrassing for a highly anticipated licensed character) but you get the idea and it could help a little bit in having a little more freedom for perk choices and make every Survivor unique instead of just being a skin.

The main issue with this concept is that everyone would play either Meg or Claudette or Nea or some character with a top tier perk. It's good in theory but the choice of Survivors is already beyond dull with everyone playing the same 5 or so Survivors. I have plenty of friends who main Survivors with bad perks like Steve and Ace, and I personally have Jane and Ash at P3 as well. No one would play these Survivors because their perks are hot garbage.

There's another discussion to be had about so many Survivors being released with C tier meme perks but that's not a discussion for here.

    @Fibijean said:

While I have seen killers 4k without Ruin (I do it all the time, but my killer is very low-ranked), or with a Ruin that was broken about 30 seconds in, I definitely agree that the killer meta is a lot more integral than the survivor meta, and that changes probably ought to be made to the game such that Ruin isn't such a necessary perk for many.

Even if the Ruin gets found very quickly it's still time that the Survivors spend looking for the totem, or hitting at least a few failed skill checks. The issue with Ruin is that even the worst case scenario still buys you about 20 seconds. It's why it's so much stronger than every other gen stall perk: it's 100% reliable to do at least something, and while perks like Corrupt Intervention and Pop Goes the Weasel may last longer they can be ignored or countered entirely while Ruin will always have at least some effect.

    @thrawn3054 said:

While I understand where the OP is coming from I'd say no. I don't want arbitrary rules controlling my build. For instance, I don't use exhaustion perks. But your idea requires me to slot one.

It causes no harm to you to bring it as an extra perk. My point is that some of the top tier meta perks that are always included in builds should always be an option because the vast majority of people use them. It's really annoying that every single build has 2 or 3 slots taken by perks which are essentially mandatory to function.

  • @Fibijean said:

There are actually no perks that are figuratively mandatory to play survivor.

All the meta is is what the community at large considers the "best" perks. Sometimes the meta changes due to the introduction of new perks, sometimes it's because of changes in the game, and sometimes it's just because a streamer with a huge sphere of influence managed to convince their audience that a particular perk is better than people are giving it credit for. That's how fragile the meta actually is.

Try just forgetting about meta perks for a while, and experiment with different builds like the one you're proposing for Yui. Some of them won't work too well, that's natural, but you may surprise yourself with how effective others can be.

That being said some perks (Ruin) are mandatory for Killer, and I honestly wish they'd make it baseline to some extent.

    @SafetyOff said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/108209/four-perk-slots-and-the-complementary-perk-problem

Would love more perks slots. Or i want some perks combined together. Such as Hope is pretty awful by itself. Combined with another perk. We need to make some perks stronger.

While were at it, can we rework the addon system into a 10 point system where we have loadouts, addons are not consumed instead strongest addons take up 10 pts, and weaker addons scale down so we can mix and match. Making it also easier to balance competitively since people will always have access to the same ones.

Another interesting idea could be to add a few "minor" perk slots for perks like Hope and (current) No One Left Behind. Thing is that even Hope is actually really strong. 5% movement speed doesn't sound like a lot but it makes you 10% slower than default Killers (instead of 15%) and also allows you to outrun Tier 1 Myers and 1 Blink Nurse. Niche use cases but the point still stands.

Adrenaline has received nothing but buffs since its release. It used to be unable to pick you up from being slugged unless it was level 3, and used to only last 3 seconds at level 1. The only "nerf" it got was causing Exhaustion which was only added after they added Exhaustion mechanics to Sprint Burst.
