  • Killers who need tweaks:
Legion - I know I'm in a minority in thinking that Legion AT THEIR CORE is fine. The problem with Legion is a lot of numbers releating to basically everything. Deep wounds, Mending, the power's duration, cooldown, recharge rate, and movement speed, and basically all of Legion's addons need a LOT of TLC. Legion right now is simultanously the best and worst Killer in the game because of how bonkers their numbers are.
Hillbilly - Should be 110% MS. Right now you can play Billy like a potato and still do better with him than with other Killers. His power is too good to be attached to a Killer who can W + M1 when push comes to shove.
Clown - His 2 second 15% slow slows him down by 15% for 2 seconds when he uses it. Do I really have to spell out why this is a problem? Other than that Clown has a bunch of other bugs (apperantly his hitbox is bigger? This makes it easier for him to get stuck on map props and gets him pallet stunned from a longer distance) but at his core they need to lessen or remove the slowdown when you throw the bottle.
Pig - Pig has a lot of specific addon-related issues. Certain addons do practically nothing (Face Mask, Razor Blades) or do so little that you're better off running nothing. (All the addons related to skill checks.) Other than that I think it's really lame that half of Pig's power is tied to RNG and Reverse Bear Traps should be more standardized. (Comes off after you do 2 boxes. Amanda's Letter lowers the amount of boxes to 1. Jigsaw's Sketch/Annotated Plan increases the number of boxes you have to do by 1.) Pig at her core is fine but I'm sick of running Last Will + Slow Release Toxin, Combat Straps John's Medical File + Video Tape, or (Container) of Gears + Jigsaw's (Piece of Paper) every game.
Huntress - Fix Hatchet Hitboxes kthnkz.
Spirit - Nerf Prayer Beads kthnkz.

    Killers who need reworks:
Freddy - Freddy doesn't need a rework so much as the sleeping mechanic needs a rework. It is easily the most unfun mechanic for both sides of the conflict. It's not fun to wait 7 seconds to be able to hit a Survivor and it's not fun to wait for RNG to let you play the game again. I honestly think that everything else about Freddy is fine to a degree. It's just that putting Survivors to sleep is terrible.
Trapper - Trapper still suffers from a lot of time management issues, and is lacking in strength and map pressure when compared to Hag. Hag's 5% slower movement speed is not enough of a penalty over Trapper when considering her far more generous and plentiful traps, lack of trap "gathering" requirement, expanded mobility, lack of RNG counterplay, and other problems I layed down in my thread. His traps need a lot of tweaks and I'd really like to see a rework to how traps are gathered. Having to walk around and pick up traps worked in 2016, but it's 2019 now.
Leatherface - The problem with Leatherface is that he isn't, well, anything. He's a default Killer with a fast pallet break. He's objectively worse than Hillbilly and only exists for his perks and to face camp. I'd love to rework Leatherface to give him a defined use when compared to other Killers but I don't know how. I do honestly think that if Billy was worse (110% MS) then LF would be better because he'd have a defined use over Hillbilly instead of being a "worse Hillbilly."
Nurse - Nurse is a very, VERY iffy subject. I think that a Killer who essentially ignores the core mechanics of the game is not fine, no matter how high her "skill requirement" is. I think in essence she is fine but she clearly has too much pressure when compared to every other Killer.

  • The problem with Freddy is that he's not enjoyable for either side to play. It's not enjoyable for the Killer to have a 7 second head start in a chase. It's not enjoyable to spend 20 minutes waiting for a skill check so that you can start playing the game again.
There's also the RNG problem which I've had several points of view on. I don't think Freddy at his core is flawed by the sleeping mechanic is awful and is the root of 95% of his issues.

So you're telling me that instead of getting a kill the Killer should ignore an injured Survivor and look for full health Survivors instead.
    Genius.

  • Speaking as a Clown main: Clown is riddled with bugs that people ignore because "his power is good." His power is certainly good but it's inherently worse than the likes of Huntress. Without addons (Flask of Bleach being his most powerful one by a country mile) he's really bad, mainly because his 15% slow slows him down by 15% when he uses it.
His perks are very good. Bamboozle is god tier and Pop Goes the Weasel is great on more mobile killers like Hillbilly. Down2ClownPhobia is kinda iffy but it can be good on the likes of Doctor or other killers with large terror radiuses, and is exceptionally good when combined with Nurse's Calling.

Been playing Death Road to Canada got the soundtrack stuck in my head.

  • "######### ######### killer Ace was obviously farming me I can't believe you ######### hit me after he unhooked me ffs"
For the record Ace had Borrowed Time and the Survivor he unhooked had Adred after the gates were open. Ace was also quite blatantly lag switching (whenever I'd get into attack range of him he'd magically teleport somewhere a few inches away) but that's besides the point.

Also: "Hex Ruin nibbas be like" Oh okay didn't realize using the most popular Killer perk in the game gave me a sterotype. Seriously this is like saying "Killers who stab Survivors be like" or "Killers who walk be like."

    *Edit

Cry me a river of tears about how your crutch items and crutch perks got countered.
For the record: I saw 2 people (including obvious SWF ally matching cosmetics matching items) sprinting towards the hook so I went to the hook as well. I injured everyone else before downing the Survivor with the RBT on their head because hey: no Dead Hard.
Then found them doing a Jigsaw Box right beside the hook I was hooking a Survivor on. Hit them after downing the Survivor and they ran away. Hooked the Survivor and they were on the Jigsaw Box again while they were injured. Like ######### those boxes are loud as #########.

Like I'm only running this build because every match I play is littered with Dead Hard / Balanced Landing and multiple Flashlights / Instaheal Medkits.
Maybe if you guys didn't run ######### cancerous builds I wouldn't have to run equally cancerous builds? Just a theory.

He’s great when you block pallets and realize how useless survivors are without em

With 6 traps he can block a handful of loops at best. Again compared to Hag who has added mobility as well as anti-loop capabilities there's no contest.

  • It astounds me how few people can dodge Billy chainsaws or stop sprinting against Hag at high ranks.
Also can we add "don't know how to stop sprinting for 3 ######### seconds" to this list?

Hag is in the top 3 worst killers in the game.

Third worst Killer, with Huntress and Nurse below her. Huntress because she moves at 110% and hums, and Nurse because she moves at 97%. How is a 97% MS Killer supposed to catch Survivors?! ######### stupid devs smh.

It's been suggested a billion times and my response is always the same: it doesn't fix the fact that Vigil basically doesn't do anything other than make Exhaustion slower since 95% of debuffs in this game are not time based.

I agree with that, but at least I'd get better. Also yeah, there's just some rare cases in which you get some timed bad effects. Maybe they should also make that work on the Hindered effect that the Clown's bottles give you, even though it's not like that killer needs any nerf.

It does affect Clown's bottles. The thing is that reducing a 1.5 second slow by 20% only shaves about an 18th of a second off the total time.

  • We have the "not Velma" outfit for Claudette. Give Jake an outfit that comes with a cravat, Dwight some long hair and a long sleeve shirt, and Meg a sweater and some regular pants (or give Kate a pair of decent ######### pants) and boom you have copyright-free Scooby Doo. :)

  • It's been suggested a billion times and my response is always the same: it doesn't fix the fact that Vigil basically doesn't do anything other than make Exhaustion slower since 95% of debuffs in this game are not time based.

  • Like Tapp's perks so Tapp is my main. Also like his looks and his voice. It's really that simple.
I play all the Survivors with the exception of the few I really don't like.

  • Dwight: Halloween Shirt and Pants, Fedora - I also like the Vest that came with the Fog travelers set
Meg: Deathgarden Mask and either Bloody cosmetics or Sweater
    Claudette: Don't play.
    Jake: Fog Traveler set.
Nea: Headcase blue hair and blue sleeveless jacket - Sweater is also nice
    Bill: Oof no cosmetics.
David: Green Mowhawk, CNY Jacket, Blue Pants.
Jeff: I really love that damn sweater. The young beard is also so much better than the default beard.
    Laurie: Don't play.
Ace: Literally only bought him because of the bathrobe cosmetic.
Feng: Don't play - waiting for the LNY cosmetics.
    Quentin: Default.
Tapp: Casual clothes with a bloody head
Kate: Sweater and a decent pair of ######### pants (instead of her ######### Jorts)
Adam: I love the Denim jacket but it's too bright to wear in game. The black trench coat is nice tho

  • No real "build" but two guilty pleasure perks of mine are Stakeout and Open Handed. Stakeout is actually not that bad so let's talk about Open Handed: having map hacks with Bond is just so great. In uncordinated pubs knowing where everyone is in a nearly 40 meter range is a goddamn godsend.

  • Lag compensation and lunges. Stop downloading porn.

    Because that'd incentivize DCing.
By taking one part of the consequences away, they might get the impression that its entirely okay to DC then, which basicly confirms their bias towards this topic.

Its better to punish them instead.

That being said I really wish there was an "opt out of match" option if someone DCs at the start of the game. It really sucks when you have 5 gens to do and someone's internet cuts out.

  • I honestly feel cheated by Boil Over's effect. It's pretty much pointless. I really don't think an increased wiggle speed perk would be that OP.

  • Would be neat if they made concept art cosmetics in a similar vein to Overwatch.

  • Every time this is proposed the exact same awnser is provided: if you added this everyone would play Claudette, Meg, Nea, or Kate. (And maybe Jeff) There's no reason to make someone's favorite Survivor pointless after people grinding countless Bloodpoints to level them up and also possibly spent Shards/real money to buy cosmetics for them.

  • Translating Survivor main to regular human:

Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaan I can't play this game without my crutches s-sniff Killers so OP waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaan!

  • May I introduce you to

    Pebble Time?

On topic: The perk you're looking for is called Lightweight.
    Also Urban Evasion. Also Walking.

  • Humans are creatures are entitled.

  • That really removes Legion's identity as a Killer. At that point they're basically a ######### Hillbilly.

  • Reminds me of one comment I saw on Reddit way back in the day:

The main counter (to Decisive Strike) is - situational awareness and to be good in chasing. Try to plan ahead. Don't choose a path to a hook blindly.

That guy had about 50 downvotes the last time I checked.

  • The problem with Freddy is that his strengths only work against bad players and only help bad players. As soon as someone falls asleep at high ranks they will loop Freddy for the rest of the match while the other 3 Survivors will hump gens all game. Tracking isn't needed at high ranks because you should know where to find Survivors when you get to that rank. And slow the game down with sleeping doesn't affect high ranks because people actually know how to do gens.

  • Guys
    Guys
Prove Thyself is a slightly better Leader when 2 people are working on a gen (and worse than Leader otherwise)
Game's literally dead Survivors so OP BHVR killing their game going to go play Civ

Spies is better, but crow placement makes it less effective.

Hey it's the Hag streamer person! :D

    Anyways: https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/294471
Crow spawns are wildly inconsistent based on map. It's much, much better now but the strength varies from "perfectly tracking a Survivor across the map" to "never activating once throughout the entire match."

  • @DemonDaddy said:
Has anybody been hit by this, seriously I have never seen anybody activate it more than once.

It's good for Doctor and Huntress because they're the only two Killers who interact with Lockers.

  • Wow a full year of Killers and they had one bad apple. GG ######### devs can't do anything right I'm going back to F13.
Can we stop acting like Legion suddenly means that the game is dead and beyond repair? Legion is one out of 14 Killers. They're the newest Killer in the game and have therefor had the least testing, meaning that the devs had the least devs to balance the Killer around. Every new Killer is going to have a degree of imbalance: Spirit was kinda shmeh when they released her and then she got overbuffed to the point of being A+ tier. Clown is still littered with bugs that people ignore because "his power is good" and they'd rather concentrate on more "broken" Killers. (And the fact that Clown is boring in a lot of people's eyes and he's rather unpopular as a result.)
Michael Myers came before (pre-buff) Hag. Freddy came before Pig. Spirit came before Legion. There will be hits and there will be misses. But Hag's rework proves that a Killer can always be salvaged. Don't say that something can't be fixed when it's been out for less than a month.

  • Survivors: lol Killers are such pussies lobby dodge whenever they see a remotely bad matchup XD
Also Survivors: DC against Nurse, DC against Hillbilly, DC against Freddy, DC against Doctor, DC against Leatherface, DC against Legion, DC when downed, DC when missing Decisive Strike, DC when hooked, DC when Moried, DC...

Hag being A Tier?!? Good joke

    She's not S.

She's nowhere near as dominant as Billy or Nurse

I’m not saying she is S tier, I personally believe the opposite, D tier, along with Wraith and Trapper. Her ability doesn’t help in the chase and she moves a 110% movement speed, at least with Huntress there is a reason why she’s that speed, because she can throw bloody hatchets, but with Hag, there is no reason for her to move that slow. Hag is in the top 3 worst killers in the game. And you pretty much need to use add-ons

    TydeTime confirmed?

Lol you beat me to it. I was wondering if we found TydeTyme's DBD Forum account.
You know you can place a trap in general at a pallet/loop, right?

  • Same could be said about Rancor's visual effect.

Now that you can actually buy in-game cosmetics I would love for the Steam Inventory to actually show off cosmetics you own instead of a bunch of free stuff from the anniversary event from 2 years ago. I don't expect Steam Trading but it would also be nice to be able to buy a cosmetic and gift it to a friend through Steam Trading.

That would be cool in concept, but I fear that much worse things would come along side that. I play Team Fortress 2 (which has a steam market/trading system) and I get COUNTLESS scammers asking me to trade my items. These people look nice and good to trade with, but actually end up trying to scam you! I had to learn this the hard way when I lost almost 300 dollars! I don't want to put anyone else at a risk like that.

My point is, if you really want to gift your friend something, then just give them a steam gift card to buy it with.

I get scammers adding me all the time too my dude. My DOTA inventory is collectively worth like $2000, in large part because of my $300 Immortal and $50 Arcanas.
Avoiding scammers is part of the Steam experience and I think being able to display what items you own shouldn't be outweighed by the fact that the internet is the internet. And giving a gift card isn't as personalized as buying your friend a cosmetic for their main that they've been looking at for days. A gift card to the clothing store isn't as special as that dress you've been eyeing for ages.

  • Someone's salty.
Camping only works if you let it work. When it doesn't work yes one guy's game is ruined but it's honestly a rarity. The strategy is weak so unless you're at a low rank (where losing really doesn't matter) or are doing something very wrong you shouldn't be camped consistently.
If you're being camped constantly try to play with the Kindred perk. At level 3 it will reveal if the Killer is near your hook which will let your team know not to come for you. It's also good so that your teammates don't abandon you on the hook.

  • I don't play SWF much so it usually only happens once or twice when a bunch of Prestiged survivors with flashlights join the lobby. That being said when I do play SWF (particularly at high ranks even though none of us had anything impressive on us - we play for fun and just happen to be good) we get dodged a LOT.

  • Let's exclude the fact that the devs have said that they'll never add voice communication and talk about how insanely difficult this would make the game for Killers.

  • I mean that's with all games and communities. That being said there's also a certain amount of mutual respect that one has to give to improve the game. I mean, I ######### hate Freddy and Leatherface but I still don't want them to be trash.

  • Bumping this because the idea recently came back to me.

I've noticed that maps that have alot of perimeter objects tend to have far less crows near the center. It feels like the map gets a ring around it where the perk becomes more useless the closer to the center you get.

That's what made me make this thread. I had a match on Coldwind Farm and Spies literally never went off because Crows apperantly don't spawn on that map.

Not going to go into my rant about how Clown's 15% slow slows him down by 15% or how his hitbox is garbage.

  • It goes without saying that Nurse is the hardest Killer to master. It's just raw mechanical knowledge and muscle memory however, but learning all of it takes a lot of time. Nurse is basically a fighting game character in a Hide-and-Seek simulator: you're going to spend hours learning the moves but then dominate the competition.

As for easiest? Contenders go to Hillbilly, Doctor, and Wraith but my pick would have to be Leatherface. There are no complexities to Leatherface. Leatherface is a default killer with an instadown. You play Leatherface by getting into range in an open area and instadowning: it's that simple.
It takes time to learn how to control Hillbilly's chainsaw. Doctor can be hard to master since you need to learn the range of your power and at what range you can stop a vault / pallet drop. Wraith takes a lot of gamesense to sneak up on Survivors and to know when to use your power to chase.

lol no? Why do people keep asking for Pig's ability to make another generator to be restockable?

Mainly because they're based on RNG and having somebody remove the bear trap within the first box practically meaning that you wasted a trap is the most frustrating thing as an Amanda player.

Well I don't technically think you should be able to restock I think you should have the ability to be able to make the Jigsaw boxes more of a challenge to complete.

Here's an idea: instead of making the game even slower and encourage more game stall (Freddy),
we remove RNG from the power and make it more consistent and fair?

  • lol no? Why do people keep asking for Pig's ability to make another generator to be restockable?

  • Had a Mori daily so I went into a match with a pretty casual build and an Ebony but then someone in my dorm turned on their wireless printer so I started lagging like ass. Add in the fact that my mouse decided to stop working and I didn't even get a single kill that game.
Next match I'm pretty salty so I go in with a tryhard build and another Ebony mori. (Killer I leveled during Christmas so not many Ivories but a ######### load of Ebonies.) One person doesn't load in and while I'd normally be pretty chill about it I was in a bad mood after the last match and had to get my daily done. Mori the first person and when I come to the second person they DC when I down them.
The last survivor does a gen and actually manages to get the hatch open. They had been doing a pretty good job of evading me so I was going to give them the hatch. I found them and downed them and as a joke I tapped the Mori button before picking them up.
They immediately DCed when the Mori animation started.

    Me: Nooooooo I was going to give you the hatch ;-;
Me: GG sorry I'd normally be nicer but I'm kinda salty rn and I had a mori daily
Survivor who I moried (who didn't DC): gg was fun regardless

And then the Survivor who I was going to give the hatch who DCed on me says:

    DCer: no mori 4 u thats what u get 4 bein a lil #########

Lmfao. Okay I played my Killer and did my daily but that's fine.
At least I'm not the guy who DCs at the end of the game because they don't want to die. I think you'll in fact find that it is you who is the little #########.

    *Edit
"if it wuz 4v1 u wud hev got no kilz"
Well no I would've still been able to kill even if you had 4 Survivors. Largely because of the fact that you're running Dead Hard, Balanced Landing, and Lithe in the same build and don't have Self Care.

1 2 3 4 5 6 … 10
