So what was the poit in them implementing dead hard into the game?

Who needs to waste a perk slot when you can have a free dodge with NO COOLDOWN!!

I feel if killers found something like this it would get the tears flowing to no end. Hell survivors already do cry about dribbling and even disconnect because of it.

Because... 360's aren't really dodging so they added an actual dodge to the game. 360 only works against bad killers. Are you really this blind? Do I need to draw pictures?

    WHAT UNIVERSE AM I IN

And like I said there are plenty of videos out there humiliating bad or inexperienced killers. Noob3 made a name off it.

Hows that fair on them? They're new to the game and some survivor is bullying them by cheesing the mechanics and getting a free dodge over and over again.

Want a dodge? Grind for dead hard. End of.

All 360's do is piss off new players, an there are many things that to that. You need new players to replace the old ones. You cant have them bullied and quit the game otherwise the game would die. Its not just 360's but that is one of many things.

Oh and for the record I've won plenty of games against moonwalking legions. All moonwalking legions do is punish bad teams.

Yes, but only because there is no counter-play for a survivor, the only compromise I can see is that the mending countdown timer only activates when you are outside the killers terror radius.

People need to stop saying this. Yes, right now, there doesn't seem to be any counter play. But that doesn't mean something won't be discovered in the future. As I said above, I've seen many instances of some new cheese being discovered and being claimed as OP because there is no counter play, only for it to be obsolete 6 months later because counter play was discovered. IDC how good you are or how many hours you have, sometimes these things take time to discover. It might not be entirely obvious either, it might even contradict what you expect. If we skip 3 months and it's still a problem then I'll be willing to accept there is no counter play.

    Just...take a hook with legion?

Survivors think they're entitled to be 100% safe all the time. Sorry but no, if you aren't at a pallet or loop then you take a hit. Its not the end of the world. Theres no dodge button in DBD for a reason. Want a dodge? Use a perk slot for dead hard, thats the idea.

360 is just something silly survivors made up because of course THEY get to make all the rules.

I shouldn't have to swing my arm 180% like an idiot just to counter their silly #########. Plus as you said its often the random freezing that makes it work. If this was fixed maybe it woukdnt be as big of an issue but it happens commonly when playing killer and taking a swing. Plus 360's are a ######### in the corn. Maybe thats just me but its hard when you can barely keep track of the survivor. Guess which realm has 5 maps? Guess which offering survivors burn the most? Thats right, coldwind.

God forbid survivors loose some cheesy crap they discovered.

Not sure what you are on. Spinning your character model is very very VERY easy to counter as long as you predict it. It's an emergent dynamic of the way movement works in the game. It's not even comparable to the situation with Legion because it has a very straightforward and simple outplay... spin your camera. I honestly can't believe you consider it an exploit. Since when is dodging an enemy's attack an exploit?

Because its not a dodge? The only true dodge mechanic in the game is dead hard.

As you admit its taking advantage of the way movement works in the game. Its survivors trying to buy a few seconds to get to a pallet. Its essentially a free dead hard. Its cheesing the system brcause the movement is poorly done in this game.
  • Put yourself in her shoes.

You're chilling in the fog minding your own business when four sweaty hoodlums come along and start vandalizing your property.

    I'm not surprised she disconnected.

Pallet looping is an exploit (hitbox abuse), but survivors don't complain about it, nor they advocate for it to be removed. Hmmm...

Survivors block hook - ToTalLy LeGiT waY 2 plAy guYz!

Edit: Lets not forget how facecamping had to be fixed because survivors cried about someone blocking the hook by standing in front of it yet it's ok for THEM to block the hook by standing in front of it 🤣 this game is so survivor sided it's disgusting. Anything they cry for they get, anything they deem acceptable becomes the norm. The devs enable it because as has been said before its all about the survivors fun, not everyones fun.

Just... spin your camera? I play on console and even I find it extremely easy to counter a 360. The trick really is to predict it. You might 360 the first time but now I will be expecting it and you probably won't get me again. If you do I guarantee it was because of frame drops. It happens often enough that I can tell the survivor think they 360'd me when in reality my screen froze for a millisecond while I swung and I miss. When the optimization patch comes, and the game becomes more stable for killer, trust I won't fall for a second 360. You get 1, use it wisely.

Well she is D tier apparantly.
  • BBQ & chilli has no cooldown......yeah because I'm going to be hooking someone every 5 seconds!

And even if you argue I down 2 at once, the fact that I spend time hooking the second means I wasnt taking advantage of the first BBQ aura reading.

Moonwalk is a legal as 360 is, so it wont be fixed

Wrong since 360 is easily countered which is why 360 isn't considered an exploit this isn't easily countered.

Here we go again with the defence.

A 360 is as cheesy as moonwalking. You might find it easy to counter but there are obviously many youtube compilations making fun of players who don't know how to counter it. Some of them made a name off 360s alone. It wasn't intentional and its just cheesing the ######### mechanics of the game.

Not surprising though that its all perfectly fine but when killers start to cheese the system then it becomes an issue that needs to be addressed.
  • Its more cheesing the mechanics of the game than a hard exploit. Survivors have no issues going for 360's and ######### everytime though so they can't really say anything.
  • Isn't this just due to the audio issues?

I don't remember it being a problem pre-update. But yeah footsteps, breathing, and groans of pain all seem a bir quiet right now and music is definitely too loud. Stridor doesn't seem anywhere near as effective as it was pre-update either.

Hopefully they can fix the audio soon.

Idk, I haven't noticed much difference in OG stridor over this stridor since the change. I still find myself getting more correct positions as Spirit than not when using it... Maybe I should test it again. Now that I think about it, I have run my face into a survivor more than a couple times since the update, believing they might be farther than they actually are. The mixing is a problem.
Yeah the devs have said they're aware of it so the audio is definitely going to be changed for the better.

I just know when I tried Stridor before it was amazing. Now I wouldn't say I'm noticing much difference.

But if the chase music is known to be blaring too loud anyway then I guess it night be whats affecting stridor a bit.

The breathings definitely bad. I used to be able to hear it without stridor from a good distance. Now I have to be right next to them to hear it.
  • 3 gen strats are easy to beat with 3-4 people. I've done many.

The survivors can do the gens faster than the killer can patrol them. If everyone makes the effort to do gens then the killer will realize they're losing and commit to a chase eventually, allowing the last to finish a gen. It only sucks if you get a hatch camping Claudette.

If there's only 2 people I assume the killer would be hunting down the survivors anyway.

To be fair there are some pretty glaring issues. I'm curious how they didn't know about the audio issues which really affect gameplay, or if they did know why they decided to just push it out anyway knowing that staff would be taking time off.

Guess they couldn't delay the dlc.

The audio probably didn't pop up often enough to be noticeable given the tester base sample size similar to how riot has bugs get out occasionally. The latest Unreal Engine update from what I've read is now getting lots of bug reports that go through testing.

There should be some updates this next week based upon what's been said and their past update process on major releases.

Hopefully you're right. I assumed there wouldn't be any for a while but yeah if they could just balance the essentials in terms of audio that would be great.

I like how killers only ever see it as a "free escape". You can tell these people dont play survivor much.

Go play a game where someone disconnects a minute in. Now you know there's almost zero chance of you powering those exit gates. Sure there's the hatch, but only one of you gets it. Two people have to die. It's not a pleasant experience and it's quite tense. Some survivors even try to get each other killed.

It's really not as rosy as you make it out to be.

You're describing it exactly as a survival horror game should make it feel, IMO.

And that's how most horror movies go. One barely escapes and everyone else dies.
  • How do you prove something like this just out of curiosity?

I assume record it, but how much do you have to record before disconnecting? 5 minutes? 10 minutes? There's no telling how long a person could keep that up. It goes on for 40 mins there.

  • How is it fair if the killer can close the hatch?

The killer moves faster, and doesn't have to worry about staying hidden while roaming the map. The killer will almost always find the hatch first.

The hatch exists to give survivors a reason to play on. Something to shoot for once the game is lost, otherwise they might as well just walk up to the killer and ask to be hooked.
  • The killer gets stunned for doing his job. Think about that. Just think about it. You lose all momentum based on a ######### decision a survivor made before the game even starts. Its so stupid.

I love this lie that "nobody uses it anymore". Wish I had those mythical games. There will often be 3 people running it in my games. Very rare I get a game without DS.

The entitled millennial inside you really shines man.

Imagine purchasing a software product and not expecting that whenever an update is pushed out there won't be problems. It's almost like recalls don't happen in real life on everyday things like automobiles that've been
    around far longer than DBD.

I'm sure you go bash every software or product developer out there with the same passion you do here every time there's a bug or issue right?

  • Yup. Survivors are pulling purple keys out of chests all the time now.

Really shafts killers but then that's no surprise.
  • They need to address the reasons why people DC first.

Lag is a major issue. Looking at the ping doesn't always work. I've had games where the ping looks fine yet I end up getting teleported all over in game. Whats the point in staying in a game like that?

And then there's the farming. Trolls who pull people off hooks instantly. That always gets a lot of DC's I've noticed. I don't blame people for disconnecting if they get intentionally farmed.
  • It's just the audio that bugs me.

Hopefully if anything is learned from this it's don't put out a major engine update just before everyone goes on holiday :p

So what's this all about then?

There you go. You would have guessed today is a patch for the most significant bugs before they go on vacation? WRONG!

Optimisation is an "AN ONGOING PROCESS"...

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/36658/tech-efforts-unreal-engine-optimization-dedicated-servers#latest

So audio is their top priority. Good to know, it's hard as killer with no footsteps, no breathing and music pounding in your ear. This affects gameplay so I'm glad it will hopefully be one of the first things addressed.

Optimization...yeah there are a lot of upset console players right now. Sucks it seems to have been delayed but hopefully in spring there is an improvement. Its important they fix the crashes that everyone is mentioning asap though.

Good roadmap. Just a bit gutted that they didn't mention the DS nerf 😋
  • Honestly? 60fps is never game to happen. The game is poorly optimized on PC too, and I think the sheer amount of work that would be needed to bring the game up to standard is unfeasible and won't be happpening.

However, yes I've seen some example videos and this game looks rough on console. I hope for the sake of our console brethren they can do something. It only hurts the game in the end.
  • The game is often on sale for £7.50 anyway. At most it costs £15. I can't see it going F2P changing that much, but would bring the downside of people being less fussed about bans/hacks.
  • Master said:

You have to understand that the "fun" is fun from the survivors perspective (even if legion isnt really fun for both sides) and DS can be "fun" for survivors

It really feels like that with DS

There's nothing fun about it for killers. It just feels toxic. Downing someone and knowing you can't pick them up or you're getting a stun for it. Stunned for doing your objective while they get a free escape just because of a choice they made before the game.
  • Lucky you.

For everyone else 9 times out of 10 it's cleansed before it even activates, or you get 1 instadown tops.
  • It would be nice if they had a sale on their cosmetic store rather than just steam.

In your bloodweb, inside the golden presents, there’s a good chance it’ll give you Ebony Mori’s. I got 8 of them in a short span of levels.

Stop trying to find something to complain about.
To be fair survivors are also getting a years worth of BNP and instaheals in their bloodwebs.

I've never had so many BNP. I haven't leveled a killer up yet but I knew ebonys would be everywhere too.
  • The bigger issue is that survivors are pulling purple keys out of chests now in every other game.

Someone tell Behaviour it's Christmas not April fools.

Billy didn't seem any different to me. Haven't tried Huntress.

Huntress with all the video engine updates will probably feel wonky.

I played against her as survivor. Her humming is broken. I could never tell how far she was because it sounded so muffled.

So I guess that's a buff until we get the sound fixed.
  • It's not as bad as people expect. Right now the stats would be heavily skewed, especially on PS4, due to the disconnects caused by the patch. But if you aren't being a jerk by camping/tunneling or other really annoying things like 3 gen doc then you can expect pretty low rage quit rates. Like if I show up with Iridescent Heads on Huntress then I can expect a very right rate of rage quitting.

Then perhaps its time the developers took a look at why people are disconnecting.

Don't get me wrong, many do it because they're babies. If they go down in the first 30 seconds they'll DC. Third hook? DC. If the killer is doing good? DC.

In cases above though. Iridescent heads are a DC. If I burn a mori or black ward, there's a good chance that someone will quit out on the loading screen. People get a bit pissed off by OP things. Likewise as a killer they tend to dodge lobbies full of toolboxes or flashlights. Its harder as killer though because you don't know when they've got 4 Instaheals/BNP/DS.
  • Anyone know if things like reshade are allowed?

I've seen streamers use it. I'd like to but not sure if it's kosher.
  • Billy didn't seem any different to me. Haven't tried Huntress.
  • Yeah I have more free time this week than next too.
  • Just got kicked from a game because the killer was lagging so bad.

I lost a pip for it.

    Yeah this game needs fixing.
  • Lol an operation health for this game would take a full year.
  • BT can be annoying but it's nowhere near DS IMO.

At least with BT I've got my hook for them to activate it. DS robs me of the hook in the first place.

Plus given how bad camping can be in the game I see why BT is a needed evil.
  • Everything sounds off right now. Everything!

It's gonna take months of work I imagine. Hopefully the survivor footsteps and breathing gets done first for the sake of The Spirit.
  • Found it leaked on another site...

    "Dear people of the fog.

A little over two years ago we regretfully made the decision to implement a perk into the game which has caused much upset and distress.

As a christmas present from the people at Behaviour to all of you, the players, we are pleased to announced that Decisive Strike will be pulled from the game effective immediately.

    Merry Christmas

    - Team Behaviour"

  • Probably today.

If its next week I wonder if they will be free or grindable.
  • When do we get a q&a thread?

I'd love to know what map offerings are being burnt the most and by how much. Or even offerings in general.
  • I just think they should make it so that the same perk can't appear on the shrine twice in the same month.

We've had enduring and terrortorial imperative about 50 times the past few months.
  • Beeing rank already is quite hardcore cuz survivors double pip much less than killers. My Tipp: stay afk and DC a little bit to rank down, play survivor (yes I know, boring) with WGLF to farm some BPs for ur killers meanwhile so u benefit at least a bit from this situation
This. The pips are really unbalanced. It takes ages to rank up as survivor, even when I play well the situation only offers me 1 pip at best.

As killer after reset its 2 pips every game almost.
  • The Clown's bottles seem bugged too. Half the time they go through the survivor.

I even stopped playing the game properly and started messing about with the survviors to test it out. So they were stood right near me not moving. Threw a bottle right at them and half of them just clipped through the body and hit the floor behind. Seemed to happen worst then they were healing each other.

I cam't make new threads at the moment so can someone pass this on as a possible issue?

These perks enable and in the case of DL even encourage toxic behaviour.

So a persons going to be toxic and they require a perk or perks to be toxic since when? When someone is toxic in COD they don't require items to run blindly at the enemy to keep getting killed.

In HOTS if someone wanted to grief their team they'd just suicide or let the other side take an objective. In OW, same thing, WOW same. If someone wants to be toxic they don't need an item to do it although in some cases it helps them do it better but it's not required.

In DBD you don't need an item, addon or perk to blow up a gen or to body block someone until the killer comes. You don't need an item, addon or perk to unhook someone right in front of the killer.

You don't need it no, but it helps them to be even more toxic. I've never seen a toxic person not bring DS.
