  • Try to get all the teachables unlocked. It's worth it.

  • Spirit. 100% spirit. Very fun and very strong. Second only to nurse

  • I think we are looking at possibly the best killer so far
  • So after seeing the teaser image what do you think it is now? I'm thinking a mad monk

    Well...
  • Also @George_Soros I love how you have THAT name with THAT image lmao
  • Isn't Huntress from Northern Europe? It would be more fitting to have animals that she would have actually hunted when she was alive on Earth. Since the Entity made those outfits from her memories and all.

    Any advise ? Much appereciated

    Yes, lobbydodging

In other words play like the poster here and lobby shop for easier matches so that that way you never learn and improve.

Doctor/Spirit/Freddy/Wraith are all good at nailing dark Claudette's and M&A, Whispers and Shadowborn are great as well.

Go Scratched Mirror Myers and pick Lery's and lol your way to a 4k.

The real secret is to just keep playing against them and learn their ways and actually play the character to see how they play. You'll learn all the usual spots to look and where the more obvious places to look are.

    Myers too
  • If a Claudette is just hiding and not actively doing gens, she isn't a threat to you so don't worry about those ones. Try to find them leaving a gen and if you don't see any way to find them in under 15 seconds, hit the gen and go check another gen then come back and see if you could see them running back to their hiding spot.
  • Why did BHVR have to remove the Lol react? Feelsbadman
  • @DudeDelicious Honestly if it was done right that would be cool. It wouldn't be impossible to fit it with the aesthetic and lore of the game. Since magic and curses are established to exist with the Hag.
  • I hate when survivors gen rush then go straight for the exit gates. Worst matches. Even worse than going against the doctor on the game. I would rather go against that than have my team mates have the gates open in less than 5 minutes.

Just play Killer and your gaming life will be immediately less stressful! =D

Lmao play killer to make your game less stressful? Well I think you are in for a rather unpleasant surprise. Playing killer is many times more stressful than playing survivor. So much that most killer mains who play as survivor do so specifically when they need to have a chill easy game after going through hell against an optimal 4-man swf one match after another after another.

Ds is a ######### perk that always made noob survivors good, they use it to get a free escape from your grasp. Thankfully, they fixed it

NOED is a ######### perk that always made noob killer good, they use it to get (at least) a free instadown/hook/kill.
    Sadly, they don't fixed it.

NOED is the penalty when you gen rush and you have to deal with it. And it's a totem that can be removed. Most good survivors remove it, and you wouldn't get any NOED, but can you stop ds like stopping NOED?

    I agree with this 100%
  • Lol ds already sucked. Idk why they destroyed the perk like this haha. Oh well. I never used it anyway.
I have seen a very well reasoned argument that states the changes actually bring DS back to being as strong as it was before the 35% wiggle for non-obsessions was introduced.

I personally think this change is a good thing. It should make DS less frustrating on the killer end without destroying it on the survivor end.

I despise all big DbD streamers that I have seen except for Tru3. They all tend to be dicks for the sake of entertainment except for him

Then you should check out OhTofu. He's not a dick at all

    I will, thanks :)

  • Yowza I didn't get the notification you replied. I just think cavemen is too old because it's boring and I don't think would look good in this game. Some half naked dude/woman with a club and an oversized forehead screaming and jumping like an ape, nah.

I think we need another brutal strength Killer, we have lots of speed based and stealth Killers but few true raw power Killers. It's not my style of gameplay at all but I think we need more. We got Hillbilly, Myers, Clown, and Leatherface when it comes to raw strength. I wanted to include Trapper or Wraith but Trapper is a strategist and Wraith is stealth.

Well, I wasn't picturing it as an ape-man. My mind was going more toward something like this:

  • I despise all big DbD streamers that I have seen except for Tru3. They all tend to be dicks for the sake of entertainment except for him
  • I made a match last 15 extra minutes because I refused to allow the freeloading hatch camper to be the one to escape. I kept guarding gens, downing the one who was doing objectives and letting them wiggle free, etc. until I eventually found the hatch. Then I checked all the lockers around it and found the freeloader. Slugged him next to the hatch. Downed the other survivor. Picked them up and brought them to the hatch. Dropped them and picked up the freeloader. Hooked the freeloader where he could see the other person sitting on the hatch with me nodding at them. Let the good player escape. Hatch camper was not pleased. Spewed salt. Made me feel warm and fuzzy.
  • I think it promotes slugging, but other than that it's not too incredibly bad. Personally, I think it should be a 30 second timer that pauses when you go down. That way slugging is not a solution, but going on an extended chase is.
  • Yes, but only if you have a perk equipped for it. Small game being changed to display the number of totems would be acceptable. Killer already has a perk for this.
  • Even if they aren't changing the perk, I think a slight adjustment to it would make survivors less frustrated. The worst feeling is being downed instantly without expecting it; since Rancor, Haunting Ground, and Devour Hope tell you when you're exposed, the same should apply to NOED. It would let survivors play more cautiously or go look for the totem.

Sorry if this has already been suggested or talked about, but I haven't seen it lately.

Most people complaining about NOED, I dismiss because their argument comes down to ignoring the very real counterplay of doing totems. THIS on the other hand, I agree with completely. You should have the exposed effect visible on all exposed perks, or on none. Not just on some. Unless the perk specifically says the exposed perk will be hidden, it should be displayed in the UI.
  • Personally, I think pallets should be able to stun the killer and interrupt the pickup animation at any time during it. Flashlights are more debateable on that, but pallet stunning should be more about position than timing (in my opinion)

However, pallet hitboxes are absurd. I have been stunned by a pallet so many times when I wasn't even within range of having the prompt to break it once I stood back up. A solid 3 feet away and still get stunned.
  • I use sloppy butcher and bloodhound. Deep Wound a survivor, look at the ground to end the chase and start the bleedout timer, follow the blood, stalking them until the timer stops or they are close enough to down with a regular attack. It works quite well against experienced survivors.

Edit: also the addons I usually use are purple or green knife with the stab wound study. This makes the timer shorter and makes them have to stop and heal a lot longer, allowing me extra time to close the distance and shut them down.
  • I've heard that the country placeholders are just placeholders and no indication of where the Killer is from.

I love how everyone goes WAY BACK when they hear ''oldest'' oldest is relevant, it could oldest they've had which is before WW1 so ANYTHING before WW1, could be Jack The Ripper, could be a colonist with a magical map, could be a mountaineer in Nepal, A French Soldier who tried to invade Russia, A blacksmith during the Dark Ages, a jeweler in China, anything before WW1, hell a silent film director.

My point is it probably won't be anything ancient, though I could be wrong because when someone suggested that the new Killer might be able to jump over pallets I laughed it off and then the next few days we got Legion.

They said oldest by a long shot. So it has to be quite far before WW1. But since chronological distance is relative, how far exactly is a long shot?

@RabidWabbitz The thing with licensed killers is that they have to make sense to fit into the lore. As for this post:

@RabidWabbitz I definitely can't argue with that lol

I would also venture to say that the Entity probably doesn't always keep them stuck in his universe so who is to say that the entity doesn't just borrow them for a while to kill for it. so needless to say "FREE THE PINHEAD" and bring him to DBD Devs!

The killers are trapped in the Entity's realm. Myers, Laurie, Freddy, Quinten, Bubba. All trapped in the realm. Pinhead would not be able to escape.

    @RabidWabbitz said:
But all of the characters have been brought in and their stories obviously changed to fit ever so slightly to fit the theme and the same could happen with Pinhead.

Their stories weren't changed. Bill was left behind before he woke up on a generator. Amanda and Tapp were sent towards the Fog once they were killed in their canon movies, Freddy and Quentin were going through their movie ending. Poor Nancy is wondering where Freddy and Quentin are.

When a character is taken, it's around the same time as their canon movies. How they arrive is different, but they're still taken nonetheless.

So you know for a fact that they are stuck in the realm with no ifs ands or butts huh? Also I meant their stories where adjusted to fit of how they went and are in the entity’s realm.
Once a killer is no longer of any use to the entity, they are cast into the void, which is a deeper plane of the entity's realm. There is no escape for anyone.
  • @RabidWabbitz I definitely can't argue with that lol

all I have to say is if it isn't a Licensed killer then I might be done with DBD as the reason DBD is so big and has kept their followers is because of the licensed killers. the majority of the time when there is a thread asking who everyone thinks the next killer is they say licensed killers which means as a community we want licensed killers. If they put out 4 non-licensed killers in a row then I feel this is a huge cop out on behalf of the DEVs. 3-1 licensed would be a great ratio each year. And if they are using the excuse as it cost to much then that is bull. as you charge people for the benefit of using the licensed killer. Just lame in my book!

I disagree. The licensed killers are generally seen as the least favorite for a huge chunk of the community. And the reasoj DbD kept its following is because it's a good game. You could have every licensed killer in movie history and nobody would want your game if it sucked. I have heard soooo many people echo the sentiment of "I hope there is never another licensed killer because the original ones have such better designs."

That's not necessarily my opinion. I am open to a new licensed killer if they fit the themes of the game. I would love to see Candyman. But having something like Ghostface would just be incredibly stupid.

Agree to disagree I guess. but I know that it isn't correct. If there was not famous slashers in this game then the game wouldn't have reached the gamer base as much as it has. you can't tell me that once they announced that Freddy was coming to the game that that didn't automatically get a huge fan base to buy the game (no matter the fact that he sucks or doesn't suck in the game) It was the deciding factor for me when I saw he was in the game. I am excited as hell for the rework! but I digress, without the Famous Slashers DBD would not be where it is today and that is fact!

I agree that it boosted the popularity massively, but I disagree that that is what kept people playing. Freddy and leatherface are considered some of the worst and least used killers, yet people still play the game a lot. I think it drew in a mainstream audience but that it isn't what kept that audience here. Also yes. Freddy's rework is something I am sooo excited for.

In my opinion, the Spirit is the best designed killer in the game. With Huntress being a close second.

I guess I can agree with that! I just hate the fact that Pinhead is not in this game. it frustrates me to no end, and it is a failing franchise that really can't have much demand for a license request. If they put Pinhead in I feel that I would be happy with anything that came after it. but as far as design I think the Huntress slightly beats out the Spirit due to her popularity.

While I adore Pinhead and the original 2 Hellraiser movies, I don't think Pinhead would be able to be fit into the lore as a slave of the Entity. Also Pinhead is not malicious. His goal is to induce the ultimate pleasure through sensory and emotional overload and he is already a priest of the Laviathon.

  • @Snikers Interesting points. I had the last 4 in mind btw.

If I remember correctly, they have stated that they don't really care a out maintaining an equal split. They just go with whatever seems like the scariest/coolest design that fits with the aesthetic of the game.
  • Also, the DS change is a good thing btw. DbD has a wonderful track record from what I can see. The devs mention things and you expect the things they mention to be in the next patch? That's not how game design works. These devs are transparent and they tell the community when they have an intent, but have yet to actually make a decision, let alone figure out exactly how to create and balance that decision.game design takes a long time, and in a team like the DbD team, they probably only have 2 or 3 people working on balancing old perks.

Wait,is there something worse than Behaviour? Worse than Rockstar Games too?

Warframe devs. It took them 3 years to fix the aweful archwing camera controls, then totally ignored the other issues with it and it's been nearly 5 years since archwing came out with it still being so broken that it is unplayable.

They have such a boner for adding more more MORE, that they have completely ignored major gamebreaking issues that have been present in their game for years.

I came from that community. Seeing BHVR is a breath of fresh air because they actually communicate and acknowledge that ######### needs to be fixed, then they give a reasonable timeframe which gives them plenty of wiggle room in case something goes wrong.

Dude, dbd history says it all, decisive strike is getting a rework....after 3 years or so,that applies to all other issues of this game and if they "fix" something,it's a band-aid,that's lack of professionalism lol

The game hasn't even been out 3 years.

Chasing someone for 10-20 seconds until they go down = tunneling. Apparently.
  • Oof. I feel bad for you when you meet Digital Extremes.

  • It's true... but idk why someone would ever try to get out of the dream mid-chase. Since Freddy is so easy to loop for ages

Why is it whenever 2 or more survivors run med-kits, keys, maps, or tool-boxes killers leave?

Do you guys expect me not to use an item that helps me? It's like lobby dodging killers because they're using a good addon.

    I get flash-lights to a degree...but Lightborn exists for a reason.

How about no. Lobby dodging keys especially is completely understandable and I'm sure you agree it's better than disconnecting mid-match.
  • @Eveline said:
But you don't get much points and it's add on not a perk. It's mostly for fun.

It's an offering not an addon. And it's not fun for the survivors who don't stand a chance against this.

And who cares about points, it's a free win

I don't understand people who want to "win" even if it means sacrificing their rewards. However, it is usually pretty fun for me watching the mori animations play out. Even after nearly 1000 hours
  • One time I was the doctor and walking through the crotus prenn asylem hallway. I turned on my treatment and rounded a corner and then Bill came charging straight into me screaming and it made me jump out of my skin
  • Idk. The DbD devs over time have earned my faith in them to exceed my expectations. They always do, and fairly quickly too. A lot of people compkain about them taking too long, but I am a Warframe veteran. ######### Digital Extremes STILL hasn't fixed serious experience breaking issues that have been in the game for nearly 5 years. BHVR at least acknowledges these balance issues in their game and does launch fixes for them usually within 1 year. Then the serious bugs tend to get squashed within 3 months.
  • Well, I was right. It was indeed not on Feb 19th. We might see it tonight or tomorrow though, possibly. I would wager either tomorrow or next thursday.
  • ALL the bugs? Never. There will always be a bug or two in any game. All the serious bugs though, that's a different story. Console is very buggy right now. I hope their opimization pass that they do this year will fix a lot of that. Most of those bugs are basically caused by event flags not registering because there were too many other things happening or the frame rate skipped over them, resulting in animations not ending when they should or not beginning when they should.
  • Just wanted to bump this because literally everyone ever born should see it
  • My only conclusion is that there is no way to fix DS without making it unbalanced in some other aspect. I think the best solution is to just leave it as is and add a couple more counters to it over time.

Edit: Actually making it so the killer still has collision when DS stuns them would be nice. That way you could at least block a doorway or something.
  • (TLDR below)

    STORY:
Just had again one of these games...
I was waiting in my lobby for survivors.
All 4 join in simultaneously, all 4 got those "toxic cosmetics" on Nea, Jake etc.
I see those typical toxic survivor names, 2 toolboxes, 1 flashlight and 1 key.
    Obvious 4 man SWF group.

    Normally I dodge those lobbys.
Not because of the names, SWF or flashlights but only because of the key (one of the most busted items in the hands of SWF).

But this time I was like "F it, let's go and sweat", I switched from Trapper to Billy and put in my strongest addons with the perks discordance, BBQ, Sprit fury and enduring.

    OFFERINGS SCREEN:
2 different mist offerings and 2x Farm map offering (they wanted to make sure to get this map 100% so I knew whats going to happen).

Match starts, I found someone really quick and downed him with the chainsaw. Someone tried to bait me away, so I slugged and downed him quick aswell. I saw how someone else was trying to pick the first one up so I kept slugging.
This was basically the whole match, a lot of slugging and short chases. They did 1 single gen.

    ENDSCREEN:
    I 4ked
They had 4x DS, 2x Deliverance, 4x Adrenalin, 4x Dead Hard and 2x BT
They were really mad at me and kept saying stuff like "sweaty tryhard" etc.
I repeated with "and your loadout is chill and not sweaty right?" and they answered "oh sorry that we use perks, next time we don't use perks okay?" and all of them started flaming and saying bad words to me.
I laughed really hard but my question basically is:
Why is it bad if a killer tryhards but when survivors bring the most strongest stuff into a match its normal?

    TLDR:
I 4ked a sweaty swf group and they went mad calling me a sweaty tryhard.
Why is it bad if a killer tryhards but when survivors bring the most strongest stuff into a match its normal?
Because they want to play the game on easy mode and if you take that away from them, you are the bad guy.
