Yep. Psn has that happen too. However there is a nice feature called "block."

This is a game, it's not a life lesson. People play this to relax; not to have to deal with #########.
If people want to escape #########, I can recommend a myriad of single-player games. DbD is a frustrating game. I don't think anyone would disagree with me there. If you're going to go so far as trying to protect us from having people say mean uncalled for things, why not just remove end-game chat entirely?

Yes. When you Vs a nurse like Ardetha or tru3, you really have no chance. Nurse however isn't a pick up and win killer. Legion is.
Yet Legion is weak. They are NOT a pick up and win killer. Not by a longshot. They ARE pick up and win in a 1v1 chase, but really all killers should be.

Looping is exploitive. Killers have a huge disadvantage in it. A interesting chase is one that involves innovative mind games and fun on both sides. Before you start saying I'm a survivor main that wants to bully killers 24/7, I am the exact opposite. A killer main that wants a fair game on both sides. Nurse is broken. Legion is broken in a worse way. Gens are too fast. Solo survivor needs help.
Is Nurse unhealthy for the game?
Edit: I do disagree btw. But you have valid reasoning behind everything you said there.

Leatherface is the king of camping not tunneling. Only killers that are strong chasers can tunnel effectively which is why Legion is in fact the king of tunneling as there is no counter against them. Legion can vault windows and pallets just like a survivor and combined with franks mixtape it's just a short tunneling session till the survivor goes on the hook again and again.
I guess I can't disagree except... Nurse and Spirit are both better at downing survivors than Legion if they already know the location of them. Well, maybe not "better" but certainly more time-efficient.
-
Can you imagine if Pinhead was in the game? Him running around would be ######### hilarious

Sorry, but Legion equals suicide. I don't play much survivor, and I'm not about to spend the little bit I do play against a killer so poorly designed he is a tunnelers dream. Holding M1 is what is boring about survivor, so here's Legion, who will make you hold M1 almost twice as much! Or, he will tunnel you down and there is little you can do about it. Sloppy, plus blood hound equals easy moonwalk exploit.
I suicide the minute I'm caught. And I don't run him. I tried him for a while, but I found him to be very bland, and without decent counters for most survivors. I'd rather be forced to play only Freddy with no perks.
That's not tunneling. Tunneling is when you repeatedly down the same survivor over and over again until they die, ignoring all other survivors and generators in the process.
A tunneler's dream would be leatherface.

I personally hate chases. The most fun for me is when a killer ALMOST sees me then moves on. And I (as well as many others back in the Clown and Spirit releases) have complained a lot about the chase being the only thing that matters in DbD. There should be more to it than that. There should be killers that are foolish to get into a chase with. And there should be more of a reward for being sneaky, altruistic, or a totem buster.

I hate that people try to defend hate speech as if it's something that normal people engage in and that other people should have to deal with.
You should have to deal with it. Like an adult. In the real world, if someone is racist or homophobic, they get called out for it. Trying to hush it just makes cliques form and makes them feel like their hate is justified. Instead, mock the piss out of them. Make fun of them and point out how stupid they are. That is how you defeat zealots. That is why zealots try to shut down opposing viewpoints.
Btw, there is a difference between defending hate-speech and finding the concept of sheltering adults to be patronizing. I don't need a video game to defend my feelings for me.

@thekiller490490 said:
@HazeHound Answer this for me. Is Legion's existence healthy for DBD?
I know you didn't ask me, but I don't think it's UNhealthy. People just need to get over the chase. Something that is definitely unhealthy for DbD is that the chase is the meta and everything else gets ignored. The devs are trying to pull the game away from the chase a little.
You can not counter Legion *during the chase* and I think that is what most people who dislike them have a problem with. But answer this: should the chase be the whole experience of DbD? Is it ok to have a killer that can't lose a chase, even if they are incredibly weak outside of the chase?
Legion's counter is "don't get involved in chases." Stealth. Gen rushing. Splitting up. These may not be "fun" counters in your opinion, but they are counters nonetheless.
-
I like Legion on both sides. They're fun to play as and against. The thing is, survivors are entitled and think that they deserve to escape every killer if they are skilled enough. They don't like that there is a killer that is inescapable 1v1. Legion ignores all survivor defenses and skill and chases consistantly last around 30 seconds.
The counterplay to Legion is your team. Legion dominates 1v1, but gets crushed 4v1. Honestly just ignore the Legion hate unless they have very specific and well thought out arguments as to why. You can't please everyone. That's an important life lesson.
I just tell survivors "learn to split up and use your time efficiently" if they complain about my tracking their blood with Legion. It takes longer to down survivors that way than just hitting them. They need to learn to adapt. Not your fault.
-
Tall killers do pretty well in rotton fields because the survivors have no cover or loops to use in the corn.
-
The jigsaw piece makes them dc more than a mori will. By far.
-
Yee. And I don't think it was bad for Cote to say that either. That sort of thing is what sets BHVR apart to me. They legit care enough about their fans to tell them to take a break from the thing that makes them money.
-
I think Legion's power is fine the way it is. Only his add-ons need to be looked at a little. Frank's doesn't suit the playstyle of Legion. And Legion's red pin is kind of worthless tbh. Just like Wraith's version of this. The problem with those two add-ons is that, while they are useful for knowing where to go, they take up a valuable add-on slot that can make the difference between a 30-second chase and a minutes long chase.
-
You remember when Mathieu Cote said "if you're feeling burned out, take a break. Play something else for a week or two."
That was good advice. Don't burn yourself out, friends. Take a little break and wait until you start to miss DbD to come back. Sometimes that is what we need to light that spark again. DbD is an amazing game, but overindulgence will make it get old eventually no matter what.
-
I hate the fact that hate-speech is a bannable offense in so many games and companies. Like they are supposed to make us feel cozy, clean, and safe. Trying to shelter us. I hate it. This game is rated M. Let us be adults. Adults are supposed to know how to handle hateful words.
That being said, yeah ######### that survivor. I hope they got tunneled hard in their next match.

Literally NOTHING you say is changing anything I said.
Killer complaining about gen rush, because 3 gens pop when the first victim gets on the hook. Guess what? That's 3 other survivor just doing 3 different gens. Do the math.
Your 2nd point I already adressed, just reread it. Nothing I posted is faulty, because I can only grab an injured survivor from a vault and I can only pull potato survivor from a gen.
And your 3rd point is again a survivor meme: balance the game so that even survivor playing like idiots can win.
Sorry, dude, just drop it, the only way you can win this debate by stubbornly repeat your nonsense and make false claims, because I don't let myself get dragged into pointless never ending debates that I already won.
You have been directly contradicted and THIS is your response? Then you have the nerve to call it a debate when you refuse to acknowledge any counterargument to your assertions? Wow. Unbelievable.
Anyway @brokedownpalace is right. There are counters. And everything should have some kind of counterplay. I love Legion, but Frank's Mixtape is overkill and doesn't suit Legion's intended playstyle. It makes chases too short for Legion's counterplay (splitting up and gen rushing) to have much of an impact.
-
Your team is your counter. If you lose a game against legion, it's because your team was ass. Legion is a very consistant killer. Each chase takes about 20 seconds but the survivor is guaranteed to go down. Because of that, the allies must spread out and gen rush. Easy peasy.
The only change Legion needs is to get rid of Frank's.
-
Do this with Legion and third seal instead of distressing. Maybe replace infectious fright with bloodhound too.
-
I want all characters to have at least one outfit as well camouflaged as p3 Claudette. I'm a killer main, but I get sick of seeing Claudettes be the only survivor that meta players use.

The fog whisperers are just people that have helped the game grow in its player base by streaming, uploading to YT etc. which basically means they can be as clueless as that part of the community, and sadly a few of them really are.
Also, if the streamrrs got their hands on it first, then why was Tru3 seeing it for the first time during the devstream? The devs haven't said the fog whisperers got to play it first afaik

that's cute that you believe that. even in my favourite game it takes big voices like jim sterling to do changes (warframe). Devs don't give a crap about their average player's opinion, they want to please the ppl that market their game.
Warframe's devs are ######### aweful at listening to the community though. The whole reason I switched from warframe to DbD was because the devs actually communicate with us

test with streamers..big oof. There's very few streamers that I'd call competent in terms of balancing opinions. Reminds me of Games Workshop using Tournament players for their playtesting. (spoiler alert, over 50% of your stuff sucks while there's a mathematically calculated set in stone meta....hooray I guess)
Well, good thing we are giving our feedback right after them... but then again a large vocal chunk of the fanbase has no idea what balance is and thinks that the Doctor is OP

I should ask my gf for her plague pics. At least that's sort of how the OP title sounded lmao

Hello fog travelers, I have a few concerns for the upcoming chapter, namely, Demise of the Faithful.
Not every perk has to be useful for every killer. So far I actually don't agree with a single one of your proposed changes here. Survivors getting sick during a chase sounds great to me. Means a chase has to end eventually, so as a survivor, you NEED to lose the killer as soon as possible instead of trying to distract her.
-
I think the next killer will be: Male. Likely undead, tribal, or bestial in some way.
Well I was correct on a few things. I was right about it being tribal and 2000-0bc. Rather than African, it was South American. Rather than male, it was female. I was on the right track saying witch-doctor. It is a priestess. And right about the undead thing (sort of,) since her body is heavily decomposed due to her disease. I was also correct that the killer would use objects around the map in conjunction with their power.

Maybe reproduce it with doctor and his illusion pallets add ons? Sounds like they'd be related somehow
I have had this happen as wraith in the McMillan Estate map with the long building (that has a mineshaft leading to basement)
-
I have only seen this happen on console. At this point I assume it's a bug and the killer actually disconnected when the match started. Every time I have seen this, the killer would just stand there no matter how long the match went on. We were there for over 40 minutes once. A bot mashing buttons would not get them into a match like that. They would need to be pressing specific inputs to get out of the results screen, go to play as killer, create a match, then just stand there singing their weapon.
It seems highly unlikely to me that those exact inputs are being made because there is no left stick movement. Unless the person just sits there watching the whole match then picks up their controller and goes into another match every time
-
Because the devs will enter in a committed romantic relationship with the playerbase who views that stream, but only if they buy the new chapter. That's what they mean by exclusive. They will not cheat on us.

That's because all who replied are fixated on the gameplay, including @not_Queen . This topic is about ranking and matchmaking.
I wrote in the first paragraph "I can't help but side with the killers on this one, since all you have to do is cleanse the damn totem."
Seems to me no one is actually bothering to read what I wrote and just replying based on the title, which is very rude since all I am doing is coming up with ideas in hopes of making this a better gaming experience for everyone.
Then why make a gameplay change? Make a ranking and matchmaking change for a ranking and matchmaking problem. That only makes sense, right?
-
You can get 2 kills and still only black pip.
-
However, Small Game should have a totem counter on it just like Thrill of the Hunt
-
@The_Crusader said:
Like DS, this perk has the power to swing the outcome of a game in an instant and often does so. Survivors don't like that.
There is debate over the totems. 5 totems seems like a lot to disable 1 perk, especially when said perk can turn the game around completely. At the very least though survivors just want information on totems. It's easy to clear them all in swf because you can ask your friends how many they have cleansed and where. In solo survivor though it's another story. I've cleansed 4 before and still gone down to NOED because the other 3 survivors didn't manage to take out a gen between them. I've also had 4 done before and spent ages at the end of the game looking for a totem which I couldn't find but it turns out someone else had taken it out already so I wasted a good few minutes doing nothing for that. A totem counter would go a long way.
It may feel that way, but it is the only way to actively punish gen rushing. And gen rushing is cancer. If survivors had a way to actively punish camping that hard I doubt they would complain.

I don't know what else you need.
I think that the legion was the worst thing that they created, a failure.
You know that could also have to do with the fact that the game was on sale shortly before the clown came out. Then was on sale again in October and had no sales in November up to now.
Any researcher with a brain knows that correlation and causation are not the same thing.

I love playing against Legion. But ffs, don't buy that "you don't need to heal" #########. Next thing you know, a smart M&A Legion walks around the corner and one-shots you because you think that. Then you get mad at him, like it was his fault you didn't heal.

I hope. Do they check the files to see if you implemented hacks or something? If they do then I am fine.
Next time you start lagging, record it. That'll be the final nail in the coffin of the ban attempt. But likely the mods will just check the record of the match, see it was lag, and move on without taking any action.

Not really? I just find Legion incredibly boring to play against. I struggle trying my best for my teammates. I would rather avoid that. Especially considering most Legions are toxic anyway. ^^
If you want to block every Claudette, then go ahead. Not like you can really do that with survivors, but you could try. :p
What about people who play every killer on rotation? Or just have a legion daily?

I guess the Legion mains got you to thank when Behavior decides to rework Deep Wound's timer to be based upon heartbeats instead of chase, eh?
Honestly I think Legion's problems are deeper than that and that change wouldnt make him "fun" for survivors. The two main complaints I hear about legion are that he forces survivors to hold m1 even more than they already do, and that he is inescapable. I don't think that change would make a dent in that
-
@Nikkiwhat said:
Body Blocking and Looping? Seriously you consider that offensive xD I'm a Killer main and I find that pretty silly to be upset/offended by.
I've personally never seen gentapping but I find that utterly dumb of a survivor to do....just do the gen normally and deal with Ruin or go get the Hex Totem...should be a built in mechanic to counter that very lame & cowardly tactic.
I dunno what cheating would be, as I play on console, so I have nothing on that.
Btw. Stake Out is the best counter to Ruin. Almost entirely negates it.

Looping is an intended mechanic that is designed to keep you alive for as long as possible and distract the killer.

Optimal build LOL
I block all Legions, not just the ones using Frank's Mixtape. I will throw in a YIKES in chat at the end of the game though.
Even more petty. Blocking anyone who uses a character 🙄
That would be like me blocking every claudette I see. Again. Petty.
To OP, don't worry about people like this. There is nothing you can do to make them happy. Just play the way that works and that is the most fun for you.
-
@Chi said:
There isn't. You can make it less painful by not usind addons like Frank's Mixtape and Stab Wounds Study. Or those that increase the mending time, but I will still hate playing against you, and I will still block you on MLGA. :D
Blocking someone for using an optimal build. How petty.
-
To convince my family to play DbD. They are the ones who got me into the game. We played KYF at first and had some fun. Then we started playing online.
If they don't like the game then there's nothing that can really be done for that. It's not a game for everyone. However, as a killer, I will go for anneasy down if a survivor happens to charge straight for the hook before I have a chance to go patrol gens again. And usually I will go for both the unhooked and the unhooker. Or at least slug the unhooked for a while and try to chase the unhooker so that they have a chance of crawling away and getting rescued (as long as it's not TOO intense of a match.) After I have downed 3 of them, I don't really care of the last survivor gets the hatch, but if I happen to see the last two together, you're damn right I'm gonna slug one and chase the other.
Trust me, killers want chill matches more than anyone.
TL;DR, killers like me are opportunistic. Don't give us such a blatant opportunity and we won't go out of our way to 4k.
-
I have always said bans shouldn't be done for DC. Instead, everyone should get one single free DC every 24 hours, then every time they DC beyond that, ALL of the perks that they have for that character are deleveled by 1 (or lost completely if it was already level 1) and they have to find them again in the bloodweb.
