These forums are to create a hub for the DbD community. I will complain as much as I please tyvm. That being said, the only complaining I ever do is about other players or other forum members.
-
if that was true, you would have gotten banned long ago. Unless you just almost never get hooked. But that is very unlikely.venom12784 said:DC as soon as I get hooked not going to let the trash baby killer tunnel me once I get rescued -
So you're saying that if you don't deliberately ignore the survivor who was last hooked, you are tunneling?Master said:@TheHourMan said:
Hitting someone who just got unhooked is not tunnelling. Tunnelling is when you focus purely on one single person and refuse to acknowledge anyone else until that one is dead.Usually thats called "hard tunneling"

Version 3: The trapper does a sailor moon transformation and becomes... The Trap. Then hits them once with his machete and goes back to normal.

I despise Monto now. He is slowly turning into another Ochido. He used to be really positive. Now every other video is "Watch me be toxic"RainyAnjel said:@Justicar said:

Also, not to be rude, but they weren't exactly good at the game. No jukes, no mindgames, stuff that i see my friends doing in survivor rank 12-16. Honestly, the rank 9 guy was better than the rank 4.
Can someone explain?Because rank only takes time, not skill.
Ty for that, I think monto might be poisoning me lol

Not really. I rarely get less than 20k as survivor. And that's because I actually take the time to do totems and look through chests. Then I tend to hit the killer with at least 1 or 2 pallets. Plus healing and unhooking. It's not hard, it just means you tone your pace down a little.Chi said:@TheHourMan said:
SiftHeadsDude said:I know this might generate comments such as “git gud” and such haha, but playing as a survivor gets you so much less than a killer. Surviving and doing good nets you like 15k max, dying and doing good about 10k. Doing bad still less. Being a bad killer gets you at least 20k though and it keeps going up if you do good. I feel playing as a survivor is such a chore if you want to get serious bloodpoints, it makes more sense to just spam play the killer. I feel they should increase/add a reward for straight up finishing the game, or split it between completing the game and the struggle phase (to discourage intentional suicides)...thoughts?
If you only got 15k you did not do good. There's more to playing survivor than just getting out alive you know. Gen rushing then running straight out of the exit will net you less points than antagonizing the killer, healing allies and searching chests, even if you die. Take the time to do other things if you want more points. A perfect game gets you 32k points.
32k as survivor? Are you shitting me? Getting more than 20k is [BAD WORD] crazy as survivor.

Yeah didn't actually do it. Though the file actually doesn't get reverted, the game still won't display in HDR, so i think it is actually beyond the control of the .ini file. However, no screenshots won't show the difference since HDR is a hardware specific feature. If you want to see the difference, I'd say next time you are in a store that sells tvs, look at the colors and contrast on the screen for the ones that display in HDR. It has no effect on fps but looks so much better.
-
Ahh thank you!!!Ghost_Potato said:You have to set the file to read only so the game doesn't write to it but then the setting menu won't work right after.

Yee I was playing it on 2160p fullscreen but decided to turn it back to 1080p just because the textures and whatnot in DbD aren't detailed enough to really need 2160p to appreciate it.
More details about the size pls? I have done something similar, playing currently on 720p windowed mode cuz its looks much more crispy and sharp. Maybe u know more than mesamination said:After tinkering with display/scale and layout (change the size of...) in windows that the more you reduce this the more "HD" the game is, however, it also causes all the text to be super tiny (depending on how small you go). It's unplayable at a certain point as the checkboxes are also tiny, but, the game looks amazing. I think this is due to the fact that the game isn't actually fullscreen on Steam. I had to just find a nice middle ground.
-
Oh, yes high res. HDR refers to high dynamic range, which essentially means that there is a larger range from dark to bright. It makes the image look amazing, aspecially in horror games. In the files DbD does have an enable HDR output option but turning it to true doesn't stay for some reason.

"Dash to gen" well there's your problem. His power is not one that should be used for getting from point A to point B. It is purely for use in the chase. And if you wait to use it until you are close to them, you can easily catch a sprint burst, lithe or balanced landing.The_Crusader said:I was one of the few saying give him a chance, maybe he will turn out ok. And he didn't seem so bad in the ptb.
Yeah using him properly he's absolute garbage. Exhaustion perks really hurt him. I see a gen turn yellow with discordance, I dash to it, meg sees me and uses sprint burst to evade me, so I turn around, Nea sees me, drop off some debris about an inch but manages to hit balanced landing somehow and leaves me in the dust, I stand there and take the stun like a useless pile of dirt as my frenzy ends.
So you can't afford to use your power close to a gen. You need them to waste their exhaustion perks first. Which means walking up to the gen at 110 speed in which case they have plenty of warning.
When it comes to loops I had this nea run to the shack. I've got no bamboozle, but also legion doesnt have traps/hatches/phase walk....so im forced to use my power to tackle the shack but nea is already injured so its useless lol survivors can do this, hit the big loopd and force you to use your power but your powrr is no good.
Then I got a claudette on the double bus loop. That was not pleasant at all.
I did ok in the second game and got a 2k but they were playing extremely bad.
I stayed low rank this month to have fun with bottom tier killers and try out monto style perk builds. So I'm only purple ranks at the moment but I can feel this guys limitations. I wouldn't dare try him at high rank.
Discordance is really good though. That's the perk I most wanted. It will be nice to have it on a real killer.
-
Ruin should not be on that build. What they should have instead should be Caulrophobia (Or now Iron Maiden)ShyN3ko said:@Cymer said:

My life is going to be a quest to see Claudette in that pic now. I hope you realize this

Legion is best meme killer

This allows the devs to make the killer stringer without hurting solo. It's the first step toward it. You can't expect them to be able to shift the balance of the game in one move. That would take an enormous amount if dev time and might make them lose a good chunk of their playerbase. It has to be bit by bit. The only way to really remove the advantage if swf without killing matchmaking is to remove swf entirely.
-
They aren't buffing killers to accommodate swf, they are buffing solo survivors. How? By making communication easier and more in depth. Of course nothing they add will ever be as powerful as voice comm, but it really does make a big difference in terms of solo survivors. And in turn, they are balancing killers around these new survivor changes and additions
-
And yes, i hate voice comm too. It means I have to be a complete ######### sometimes just to get some kills, but so be it.
-
They are already in the process of balancing the game for swf, calm down
-
They are from the 90's. We know this for sure because of the school jacket having 1996 on it. That would mean it had to be from that era or earlier.
-
I always catch sprint burst with legion. Idk what you guys are talking about.
-
"Uninstall the game. Trash killer. You never committed to a chase and it made the match take forever"
This was from a DS meg who kept sprint bursting to the killer shack when they were on their last gen, so I used overcharge to kick the gen and moved on to hit any survivors I could get my hands on. I did get 4k in that match too. -
Also I don't see Claudette in that either. What hell. (Also 300th comment, woo!)
-
Also, gen rushing is already such a huge problem, increasing rewards for it would only make it worse.

Why did BHVR have to remove the laughing react
-
I play exclusively with a controller and have never had any issues getting 4k.
-
The majority of games I have are with good sports. They usually say gg at the very least. And no matter what, I always ALWAYS say "Gg wp, gl on your next. Hf."
-
The Japanese are smart enough to know that thighs>gozangas.
Really though, I play Claudette and Feng because they are both my favorite characters, not for a meta. I can get away from the killer with either one just as well. -
The PTB ends on the 7th, so I agree. Either the 11th or the 13th.
-
I would like to see survivors use lockers more often. This locker aura immunity is a nice step toward that. Afterall, it means more free locker grabs lol

Can you guys stop derailing? This was never about farming with the Killer or anything related to that, it's solely about the Survivors & Killers that disconnect during the match since they're "mad cuz bad".@TheHourMan said:
I strongly believe that leveling down all equipped perks by 1 level is the ideal solution to rage quits. I think banning players for it is unnecessary, or should be saved for someone who does it ridiculously excessively. That's not a good idea and it's very simple to understand why; It punishes the other 3 innocent survivors aswell.
I strongly believe that the only way to punish griefers is:
- keep them from regular matchmaking (temp bans)
- put them amongst themselves
- low priority (longer queue times for them)
Don't let the others pay for it. I as Killer don't want to play with DC-Survivors. I as Survivor don't want to play with DC Killers or Survivors. No one wants to play with them, they only hurt the gameplay experience and there is no legit reason why frequent DCs don't deserve some sort of punishment - and I have no sympathy left for the people that defend DCs.
Every round-based multiplayer game with closed lobbies has some sort of punishment for DC / RQ.
Dota 2, LoL, CS, Rocket League, ... Why not DbD?
How does that punish the three others who didn't quit?

I use his addon that makes all survivor auras visible while someone is in the dream transition paired with the yellow dress. For perks, I use Remember Me, Dying Light, No One Escapes Death, and Monitor and Abuse. This means you will have to tunnel the obsession (and make sure you get 6 hits on them.) If you can sacrifice the obsession and get 6 hits on them before the last gen in completed, you have won. It takes over a full minute for the exit gates to be opened and in that time you will know where all survs are and be able to one shot down them due to NOED. Be sure you keep everyone in the dream as much as possible qithout letting the obsession get away.
-
They do this as a way of telling you that they don't want to farm. One time I had a 4 man swf group try reporting me for trying to farm with them. Then they also said "You try to farm, and we will gen rush then tbag and leave you with 9000 points" when they all got about 12k and only one pip. As if that is going to hurt me lol. The majority of survivors will gladly farm with you if you make it clear you are farming. One thing I do is nod and kick a gen over and over without finishing the break animation, then hit it and nod more. I also will down someone and stand by them nodding and attacking in their general direction and making motions toward them to get someone to heal them. Then nod when someone doesMisterCremaster said:@Peasant said:
- They're a bell spamming Wraith
- They are frequently nodding
- They actually friend you in the lobby solely to tell you that they're farming.
- They take you to a generator and hit it.
Unless one of these things happens, assume they're out for blood.
I just tested this in 3 games... maybe ONE survivor understood the signals. The rest did all the gens, then t-bagged at the exit gate. Even though i was BLATANTLY not trying. I'm talking picking them, and dropping them next to gens, hitting it with my weapon (not even breaking), then picking them up until they wiggled free.
I did this MULTIPLE times, and it was crazy how many ran away.
The only thing on here I didn't do is message the lobby about farming. That leaves a bad taste in my mouth for some reason... maybe its a subtle concern about getting a ban.

As much as the idea of a biohazard killer is awesome, I agree with the first comment. What we need is more worthwhile objectives around the map for survivors to complete. Things that are worth staying for more than just points, because a lot of players say that points are not enough to risk dying (because they get 5k points for surving and they are cowards so they would rather take the guaranteed small reward rather than the risky big reward)
-
Dying light + remember me. I think that is an acceptable time to tunnel.
-
DS. None of them really upset me per se, but if any of them get me irritated in a match, it's that one.
-
They can only blind you from 3 angles actually. And if you are looking down at the hooked victim, there is nothing they can do to blind you aside from firecrackers. If you do grab someone, you have them on your shoulder in time to hit the unhooked survivor as soon as they get on the ground, then get two more hits in on the blocking/healing survs with some time left to hook the person on your shoulder. I have gotten multiple 4ks at the exit gates because survs just refused to leave the hooked one and cut their lossesDarkWo1f997 said:
It’s not that simple. They can use flashlights and surround you, making sure you’re blind from every angle. They can snatch control away even just one of them can ensure the save.Terrortot said:I usually wait for the hands to go up when they are unhooking to be sure i get a grab instead of hit, then drop them on the ground and keep camping.
Only end game though, when exit gates are powered/powering.
They have so many utilities at their disposal. They need to stop whining about a 2 year old problem that no one seems to have managed a solution for. Well, here it is. It works.
Plus if you DO get the grab, they can just unhook and block. Once again, you’ve lost control of the situation because you didn’t time something right or think it through before acting. -
Don't forget about escaping chases without being hit, or being stealthy within the killer's terror radius.powerbats said:@TheHourMan said:
Ok, so after a few days of replies, I have determined that survivors indeed do not know how to play the game. At least not how to do it well enough to consistantly double pip or get over 20k points.Yeah because double pip usually requires going for unhooks which when you've got a killer hard camping isn't happening. You also have to do a lot of healing which requires someone getting hurt and doing gens.
-
Yee, it is pretty hilarious when you get blamed for someone practically throwing themself at you with a "kill me" sign on them
-

No matter which metric you use (pips or points) doing ONLY generators and exit gates is not enough to have done a good job.
-
So if you sacrificed yourself to save another survivor and they got away and you got sacrificed, does that mean you failed the match? No. Of course not. The name "survivor" is misleading. Survival is only one way to "win" but I wouldn't say there is a win state or lose state in DbD. It is not "you win if you live and you lose if you die." It is "How good did you do throughout the match?"Boss said:That sounds like they know JUST how to play a Survivor.
It's right there in the name, no? Survive.
BP is great to have, but earning a lot isn't the main goal. -
Of course, there are nicer ways to say it, but there is no way to tell people they need more practice and strategy without it offending someone
-
I mean, he's not wrong though. "Git gud" is advice that would solve the majority of complaints on this forum
-
Killer is the one where every second matters. As survivor there is zero time pressure. You can take as long as you want to finish the game and there is nothing a killer can do to punish you for taking too long. Survivors control the pace of the game. I am of the opinion that all matches should be 10-15 minutes long. Some people like 5 minute matches. Almost no killer does though.
