  • Clown: God no, you've got his good perks, don't torture yourself with Clown.

Legion: Coming from a Legion, they're alright. Fun? Sometimes. Weak? Constantly.

Oni: Out of these options, Oni is by far the most viable. He's also pretty fun to play as too. Who doesn't want to be a giant undead demon samurai? The only thing that sucks is that his perks are lackluster. Blood Echo is alright and Nemesis is good in niche builds, but Zanshin Tactics is useless.

Deathslinger: As a console peasant, I'm in no way qualified to judge this, but he looks really fun and arguably had the best perks out of these 4.

Personally, I'd disregard Legion and Clown, and put it between Oni and Deathslinger.

The game is incredibly consistent with pallet spawns and every loop or jungle gym on the Game is a standard tile of OG maps. Literally just adapt. Game is so survivor sided. Only time it's not survivor sided is when a stealth killer is lurking around.

Why are you being so aggressive? Where did I complain "OMG THE GAME IS SO KILLER SIDED DEVS PLEASE FIX!" I literally just stated I didn't like a map. Relax. Besides, that comment about pallets was more for Lery's.

  • He really needs something for console players. A slight aim assist, anything. He also needs a way to punish survivors at pallets. Pallets are incredibly safe against him unless you're running Prison Chain and Bayshore's Gold Tooth. A way to pull over pallets, being able to break the chain himself and get the damage state and Deep Wound with no stun, he needs something.

  • As killer, Haddonfield and Ormond. Ormond is big, terrible for stealthy killers because they stand out against the snow so much, and introduced my least favorite jungle gyms in the game. Haddonfield is Haddonfield.

As survivor, Lery's or The Game. Unreliable pallet spawns, meh windows, I don't like it.

Make it more fun for the other players and you will be rewarded.

Why should that matter? I'm a maniacal killer who was told to kill these 4 people by some eldritch demon. I'm supposed to kill them by any means necessary, not frolic and pick flowers with them.

  • I like it, learning to moonwalk was a big turning point for me as a killer, and getting a hit after mindgaming with a moonwalk feels really good. I just think it should be fixed to not shine through walls.

  • I just want the BP man. Besides, if Hangman's Trick doesn't get changed from PTB it will probably end up as the best info perk in the game.

  • Neither. Get the Sanguinary mask if you have too or get the winter blade. I did both and got this:

Being both is good, but on the topic of the bird itself it would be nice to see it re-appear in the map itself, it it doesn't already. Just so it doesn't fade out of existence once the Killer menu layout changes again.

    I think he does :D

Correct me if I'm wrong but I think he's in one of the wagons grabbing a snack from a corpse.

As for what I'm naming him, Speckles the vulture! He's Deathslinger's best buddy. Like, Deathslinger would die for him and he gives him scraps of meat after a trial, but he doesn't like the other killers knowing he has a soft side.

  • Commodious toolbox with Instructions and Socket Swivels. Borrowed Time, Adrenaline, DS, Dead Hard. Burning an offering for either Haddonfield or Coldwind. Go full genrush and get out, use BT if the killer camps, and use it and DS to hook trade and get out endgame. Or just mess up my DS skill check like always. Either that or bring a Bloody Party Streamer and meme around and farm with the killer.

  • We have:

Crows, which are confirmed to be watchers for the Entity.

Maurice, Clown's horse "blessed" by the Entity with a third eye as he was blind.

Maggots, flies, and roaches feasting on various corpses and refuse.

    Dead cows on Coldwind.

    Dead pigs on The Game.

Live vultures in the Grave of Glenvale.

Rats in the hooks on Hawkins.

Last but most certainly not least, Demogorgon.

The Entity sure seems to like carnivorous birds and insects.

Iri heads are fine. It's an ultra rare addon and has already been nerfed to 1 hatchet.

    Just learn to dodge.

The problem isn't the Iri heads themselves, it's the fact they combo with Infantry Belt and Leather Loop, effectively removing the necessary downside to an addon so powerful. A Huntress has to be pretty bad to miss 3 hatchets in a row.

  • In terms of fun, Dearhslinger. I used to mess around with Huntress back in 2018, and although I was pretty good, I was by no means a master. Deathslinger seems really fun to play, at least compared to Huntress currently. Tried a game as her yesterday and got Wretched Shop, guess how well that went? But in terms of strength, Huntress. Huntress is a lot stronger than Deathslinger, at the cost of being harder to learn.

Not all of us do. SOME of us try to remain neutral and unbiased since we play both sides.

Unfortunately in a game like Dead by Daylight, where we have two separate sides playing completely different games, all demanding changes for their side. Killers want "muh fehr keh" pretty much every game while survivors for the majority just want to have a bit of fun with certain elements of the killer base starting to force them into perks and strategies.

With camping and tunnelling legitimised by the developers, all that some of us can do is simply use the perks that stop the killers from doing this for the most part. They find it works really well against everyone, then normal killers have to go up against these strats. The community is putting itself into it's own death-spiral, but most of them are too biased into one side to admit anything.

Stop lying and saying that DH/DS/BT nerfs are for "balance" when you do it THIS much or while camping and tunnelling can go so unpunished. Survivors can also stop abusing certain mechanics when unprovoked. You all know what I'm talking about.

We are forcing this all upon ourselves, and if you say that I'm belonging to one side, or just saying that I'm "just wrong" then you have proven my point.

Don't act like survivors aren't the same. Just like how a good amount of killers believe they are entitled to a 4K, a good amount of survivors believe they are entitled to escape every game. I had a game yesterday where someone was calling for nerfs to Bubba because they didn't know how to dodge his chainsaw, and claiming BBQ was OP, while they ran DS and BT. I'm not saying BT and DS are OP, but yikes. There are unreasonable people on both sides.

Make Iri Head have Huntress move at 115% but removes instadown.

So a 115% Huntress with one hatchet? You might as well just play Wraith, Trapper, or any other 115% killer. You are playing a 115% killer with a 40 meter Terror Radius with one shot at instant damage before she has to break chase to reload at a locker. Hell, why not play Deathslinger at that point?

  • You can. He has had this ability since the feature to close the hatch was added I'm pretty sure.

  • Breakable walls are a bandaid fix for bad map design, namely for strong buildings/infinites like Ironworks or Wretched Shop. They are a bandaid fix just like how the Balanced Landing nerf was a bandaid fix for super strong loops like Ormond, Crotus Prenn, and Haddonfield. Instead of completely reworking the map and the central building, they can put these breakable walls in for now until they get around to reworking those maps, if they get reworked at all.

  • For survivor, DS. On it's own it isn't that bad. Either slug them or eat it. But when you add in perks like Unbreakable, meaning you can't slug them, Head On and Inner Strength if they go ina locker, it gets pretty bad. Then there's the whole issue of DS being used as an offensive perk rather than anti tunneling, making them make stupid plays that can't really be punished, especially during Endgame.

For killer, NOED. Cheap kills endgame, especially for solo queue. Granted, it's not that bad, easy to cleanse totems, but I'm just not a fan of perks that can easily turn the tide of a game. Killer starting to steamroll? DS. Survivors getting gens done before you can apply pressure? NOED.

  • Keep your sessions short. There's nothing wrong with taking a break. I would say get to 1 million Bloodpoints if you plan on getting Zarina or the Deathslinger then put it down and come back when the new chapter releases. Toolboxes will be getting nerfed, hopefully Sabo will get a small nerf, good perk changes and killer buffs all around. Just give it a week or two break and come back when you feel like it.

  • Another liscenced killer. Maybe Pinhead, Nemesis, a Xenomorph, or maybe even Jason if we get really lucky.

  • Would be great for solo queue. Now maybe my teammates will actually do gens.

Zarina Kassir's lore tells us about an inmate (that all evidence shows is Caleb), who was sent to Hellshire in 1860 for 15 years. This means he was released in 1875, and he was active for another 6 years after that, placing him in roughly 1881.

I'm just going to wait until he is officially released before I put him in, though. I've done the same with all of the others (except Danny, but that was a special case with me being away from my account when he came out, so I did him earlier).

Don't forget though, in the Deathslinger's lore it mentions that he had his sentence shortened by the warden in exchange for him hunting for prisoners. In Arizona, aggravated assault (assault inflicted with a deadly weapon, he shot Bayshore with his harpoon gun) is met with 5-15 years for first time offenders, meaning he could've been released earlier due to his deal with the warden. Meaning that he was charged with 15 years on his record, but the warden might not have put down he released Caleb early. Although these are current laws in Arizona, not sure if it was different back in the 1800s. I don't know, just making wild guesses here.

  • Steve is too cool to sit and Bill has his pose from the Left Behind trailer/how his corpse looks in Left 4 Dead 2.

  • Caleb seems like he should be around mid to late 1800's. He can't have come from earlier than 1845, when the potato blight broke out. His lore mentions he is the son of Irish immigrants who were heavily oppressed as Americans feared they would take their jobs. It specifically mentions the phrase "No Irish Need Apply" which put his father out of a job. The phrase first began taking form in 1854, and it mentions that Caleb's father was out of a job for quite a while, so we could put Caleb's birth from around late 1840s to early 1850s. Something else worth mentioning is that Caleb's Modified Ammo Belt addon mentions the Arizona territory, not Arizona state. Arizona was recognized as a territory in 1863, and was officially recognized as a state in 1912. Due to the addon mentioning his specialized weaponry, and the addon Marshal's Badge also mentioning the Arizona Territory, we know that he was in the Hellshire Gang some point after 1863.

Going off of this, Caleb's lore mentions Hellshire Penitentiary as the nation's first private prison. The first private prison I could find was in 1852, San Quentin. If we believe Caleb was born late 1840s, Caleb would be around 19 to 20 when he maims Henry Bayshore and is thrown in prison. It mentions he was in prison for a time, before being released to catch outlaws with the help of his Hellshire Gang, meaning they were released around 1867-1869. They went with this plan for around 6 years before finding the Warden accepted a deal from Bayshore when they go back and murder him and the warden, and Caleb is taken by the Entity. This means Caleb was possibly taken around 1876-1878. I think at least. I wrote this all down in English so this might not be entirely accurate. At least we know he is between 1863 and 1912.

  • Balanced Landing is more map dependent. If you got Shelter Woods you might as well have just not brought a perk at all. But BL is stronger IMO. The stagger reduction and Sprint Burst is great, especially on maps like Ormond, Crotus Prenn, or Haddonfield.

Lithe is more readily available, but you need two or maybe three other perks for Lithe's true potential. Lithe, Quick and Quiet, Dance With Me, and maybe Iron Will. On a map like Lery's you are nearly guaranteed to lose the killer whenever Lithe activates.

  • It would. 115% would help him so much because he isn't as loopable then.

Have you noticed that with PWYF you can shoot someone, hit the air to let him go and then use your token speed to down them without losing a token from the 1st injure? And have you seen an "exposed" build that lets you insta down them by reeling them in?

I have, but Deathslinger lacks quick downs and pressure. The negatives outweigh the positives. A technically non-lethal power on a 110% killer with no ability to counter loops. Instadowns aren't going to help if you can't hit them in the first place. I'll let PWYF slide because that's actually a nice synergy with his power.

  • @Pulsar said:

He seems like he has a high skill cap for a very low reward. He needs something, I am not sure what.

He needs some way to counter loops. All other 110% killers have some way to counter loops and pallets. Huntress has hatchets, Nurse can blink, Hag has her traps, and Spirit has the best mindgames in the game. All Deathslinger can do is force a pallet drop slightly earlier, but that's it. He needs a way to use his power to counter loops and pallets.

  • I wouldn't say Deathslinger is a bad Huntress, but rather, Huntress is a better Deathslinger. Instead of reloading every shot and having to reel survivors in, Huntress just has 5 shots at instant damage and suffers from a smaller cooldown after every shot and can easily combo into an M1. Sure, you could theoretically do the same as Deathslinger with fast reloading addons and STBFL, but Huntress can do this perkless and addonless. Sure, Deathslinger can inflict Deep Wounds, but Deep Wounds doesn't mean anything other than an extra 12 seconds to heal. Not to mention that Deathslinger NEEDS to land an M1 to down, compared to Huntress who can easily down from a distance. I think the only department Deathslinger beats Huntress is Terror Radius, because Huntress has her humming, and his power counts as basic hits with his M1.

  • +3 seconds is basically like an Adrenaline after every hit. Seems like it would be extremely busted.

  • So you know how more recent killers kinda have some properties of other killer's powers? Like Oni kinda being like Billy, or Ghostface being similar to Myers and Pig? Well this is what happens when the Entity goes overboard. It went too far trying to make the perfect killer. Her RBTs will make you have a constant Deep Wound effect and will progressively give Madness, she can sprint crazy fast with the chainsaw but goes into a tantrum if she hits a wall, but has the control of Oni. She can make survivors Broken by puking on them. She can turn invisible with her gas bottles and stalk survivors for a one hit down. She can blink using her Censer from Plague, which was filled with Nurses blinks. Also she can set bear traps that she can teleport to when someone steps in them. She can place portals that teleport to generators. She also has mini hooks she can throw to reel survivors in, but she has to get more at lockers. She can also throw gas bottles that turn her invisible and give her a speed boost. Bam, one property from every killer, including Deathslinger.

Trapper's traps I can see maybe why.. but I have no idea why you think it shouldn't be able to dodge Huntress or Deathslinger.

If you Dead Hard forward in a straight line, you should still get hit by the harpoon or hatchet, but you don't, you just phase completely through it because of the invulnerability..

  • t3omx1xf3ip31.png

This is like the original cursed DBD image.

  • STBFL is good because you just Shred to obsession and not lose stacks. PGTW is good on all killers. I personally use Devour Hope, BBQ, Nurses Calling, and Enduring. Enduring for challenging pallets with Shred, BBQ to know which portal to go to after hooking someone, Devour Hope is just my favorite perk, and Nurses is just really good, especially considering you can see auras while teleporting.

  • I agree. Also, can we make it so that Dead Hard doesn't just completely negate Trapper's traps or Huntress and Deathslinger's projectiles?

  • I mean we have The Ghostface and The Demogorgon. I think The Gunslinger or The Outlaw would've been better but eh, Deathslinger isn't the worst name we have.

  • Barbeque and Chili and Devour Hope. I'm a sucker for the Entity claw design on perks and I like Hag on Devour Hope.

@Seltas0208 Is the minister of tea leaves. You might be able to get some other type of "tea" leaves if you sweet talk them.

  • Legion, Plague, Doc, Wraith, Oni, Demo, Ghostface, Billy, and Huntress. Plague, Oni, Ghostface, and Billy were the hardest to get because of their one hit downs screwing over emblems. I only got Plague when I literally didn't use her power at all.

  • Oooh, I like that. Hopefully he can reel them to windows and get a hit. This is like one of my favorite things to do with Ghostface, stalking through holes in walls and getting an easy down.

  • Straight vibing in Dead Dawg Saloon with the piano.

  • I'm just slightly worried about Deathslinger on console. He's going to be one of the killers who require precision with aiming like Demo, Oni, and Huntress. Guess which killers perform worse on console compared to PC due to lack of precision or ability to change sensitivity?

  • @LordGlint said:

While I could see room for a buff here and there, I wouldnt say the new killer is in a bad spot. For now, lets just try to give feedback on where we think he could be improved upon and see what happens once the PTB is over.

Personally, Id like for his weapon reload to be included in the weapon wipe when you've hit someone after reeling them in. ATM, it feels like a double cooldown between the weapon wipe and the reload. He'd still have to reload shots when he MISSES, but this would help to reward accuracy.

I know I've also seen suggestions of letting him pull survivors over pallets, which could be interesting.

I think this is a good idea. It's like back when Nurse first came out and there was wipe and fatigue. It rewards good gameplay and learning the killer and punishes bad gameplay. As for pulling survivors over pallets, I don't know. I would rather he breaks the pallet with the chain, breaking the chain with no stun, and the survivors act as though they simply broke free i.e giving them Deep Wounds and putting them to Injured if they aren't already.

Killer: You mean 12 hook within 400sec Gen?

    Entity: DO IT

Killer: 1 hit down Power. 12 hooks, 4 kills

Entity: 1 pip. Not enough chase to be entertained.

Entity: What's that? You killed all 4 survivors? Sorry bub, best I can do is gold Devout. You didn't hook them enough times. And you used the power I gave you to help kill the survivors and win? Tsk tsk tsk, looks like I'll have to give you bronze Chaser and silver Malicious.

  • The melee hit counts as a basic attack, meaning he can one hit. Devour Hope, Haunted Grounds, and NOED all work with him. Really hoping they don't change it.

  • Ngl, Deathslinger lookin kinda cute 😍

One colour for each perk slot, beats using numbers since a lot use tokens already.

Or just a little perk symbol for when we get near our totems. Maybe the perk could light up similar to Whispers?
