  • PTB was usually 2 weeks, but it seems since Chains of Hate they're adding an extra week into the PTB testing cycle, along with the fact Mathieu said it would be releasing around 3 weeks from the day it went live on the 4th Anniversary livestream, so it should be releasing possibly on June 16th.

  • I'd say Ghostface and Plague. They is probably the strongest killer here, followed by Deathslinger, Plague, Pig, and Legion in that order. Plague has the best perks of the bunch and is a great middle of the road killer strength wise. Deathslinger is pretty strong and great fun, but his perks are absolutely worthless outside of a few situational builds. So yeah, I'd say Plague and Ghostface or maybe Deathslinger instead of Plague if you've already got her perks in the Shrine or don't care about her perks.

  • Hopefully, that's the whole point of the PTB in the first place, to find bugs and make sure the new content isn't obscenely broken/bugged. But I'm sure a few bugs will make it to Live Servers, but it's DBD, what're you gonna do.

  • Masochism.

Jokes aside, I find it more fun than survivor. Survivor to me is brainless holding M1 and running in circles against most killers. When I do play survivor I'm hoping for a Freddy, Spirit, Oni, Demo, or Deathslinger, anything other than M1 killers cause I actually have to think against those killers. Of course survivor isn't as mindless as I'm making out to seem, but it just isn't my cuppa tea. Survivor isn't as satisfying to me as getting some crazy far shots on Huntress and Deathslinger, or scaring the hell out of survivors as Wraith and Ghostface. Killer is just more fun to me, maybe in some masochistic kinda way.

  • I really don't see where people are coming from with this. All the perks from this chapter are terrible and highly situational. Granted this is probably the best perk from the new chapter but c'mon, either count to 4 after someone gets up or keep a close eye on them if you have a Hex and decide to slug. Every perk from this chapter is too situational to be incredibly useful.

  • Oni, Myers, Demo, or Pyramid Head.

Oni is a demonic samurai/warlord/I honestly don't know. Point is, he's a force to be reckoned with. From his background alone we know he knows how to fight, and Blood Fury enhancing his abilities as his opponents grow weaker is gonna make him a really scary opponent.

Myers is the literal embodiment of pure evil, is basically immortal, and is a cold hard killer with no remorse.

Demogorgon is a terrifying predator, and has shown to be extremely brutal as well as resilient. As long as no psychic children show up, he's going to be a deadly adversary.

While I don't know much about Silent Hill, I do know how deadly Pyramid Head is. He's a physical manifestation of how James feels he needs to be punished (I think, anyway). Can you even kill that?

Honorable mentions goes to Freddy and Huntress, though Freddy may be nigh immortal in the Dream Realm, if he gets pulled out of it he's a sitting duck, and although Anna was shown to take on whole platoons of soldiers, I don't think she stands a chance against the 4 top candidates.

Obvious losers here are Legion, Ghostface, and Pig, who are literally all just normal people with knives that go stab, maybe Clown and Bubba as well. Clown's gas might buy him some time but otherwise he's just a fat guy with a knife, and Bubba would probably be scared out of his mind and he doesn't have much going for him besides his chainsaw.

I agree but I’m ok with it, I haven’t seen his breakable wall animation though so maybe he uses it there, huge missed opportunity if he doesn’t use it. I’ve yet to get the new map as him though, which is funny considering the spawn rate is supposed to be higher. Good practice for older maps though.

He still just kicks the wall. I think the main reason for this is because usually all break animations have the killer hit whatever it is twice and they couldn't do that with Pyramid Head's huge knife and make it look realistic or believable that he could swing it fast enough for the break animation twice.

  • I'm so happy the Legion skin won. Hopefully they actually implement the changing faces that were shown in the art as well.

  • Another weak batch all around, the best is probably Soul Guard, but it certainly won't change the meta. I think Pyramid Head's perks can be good in certain builds, but they need number changes desperately. Make Trail of Torment a 30 - 40 second cooldown, or increase how long you remain Undetectable, make Forced Penance last at least 45 seconds, and make Deathbound last longer.

  • I'm hyped for him as well despite never playing any Silent Hill games. His power seems interesting and he has a ranged attack that goes through collision like my god I'm so hyped to play as him, he can't come to console fast enough.

  • Of course I'd prefer it to be Alien, but it really comes down to how he plays. I'd be glad to welcome him to the roster and play him if he plays fun and fair for both sides.

  • Killer Adepts should just be sacrifice all 4 survivors in a match while using their unique perks. Not kills, so you can't just cheese it with a mori, and it isn't arbitrarily difficult because you have to prolong the game, just a simple test of skill with the killer and their 3 perks.

  • Jaws, they're gonna roll out a shark tank and everything tomorrow.

  • Gah, as much as I want this to be real I think it's fake. I'm on team Alien for the next chapter and I'd love to have a Xenokitty for our Demodoggo to play with.

    Object of obsession.

I main freddy and ofc when someone is asleep they always see you, so I've taken to using the blocks which trigger blindness whenever a trap is tripped just in case. Now whenever I see someone with the perk I just think, "Aw sweetie, if only you knew the mistake you made."

    Pretty cute perk.

Also no mither without iron will. That's fun.

This but with Ghostface or Wraith. Sorry honey, thanks for the free wallhacks, hugs and kisses.

  • The time makes it almost impossible to use too. By the time Gearhead activates and you've hooked the survivor you just downed, you've only got like 15 seconds left. Almost useless now, just run Discordance.

  • @SpacingLlamas said:

I legitimately don't know what the purpose of this perk is

Like what is it exactly suppose to do thats useful

It would be so useful if it reduced Terror Radius outside of chase, easily one of, if not the best perk for 110% killers, but it doesn't. It's so bad

  • People are gonna play as survivors where they have more offerings for grinding and better perks, then once they have good perks they'll play Zarina. Killer's can't really do that unless they just want Deathslinger's perks cause you need to practice with Deathslinger and learn his power.

  • Deathslinger is a huge animal lover. The vulture on the lobby screen is his little buddy. He's named him Nibbles and he comes when called to perch on his shoulder. He picks scraps of meat off of corpses to feed to him after trials. If he's on Campbell's Chapel, he might let the last survivor have the hatch just so he could cuddle with Maurice, against Kenneth's better judgement. Caleb also hangs out at Gas Heaven with the others. Susie looks up to him a ton, and she loves his stories of the outlaws he used to hunt. Piggyback rides are almost mandatory after he comes back from a trial. He used to let her play with The Redeemer until she accidentally shot Danny in the leg. Both of them got a strict talking to from Phillip and Kazan after that little stunt.

  • Devs are very wary of gore in DBD. It can cause DBD to get censored in certain countries like China, which would be a HUGE hit in their sales.

  • Skill. That feeling of overcoming a 4 man toxic SWF is great.

Survivor is ######### braindead compared to killer. Hold M1, loop, get hooked, run the nearest infinite, bam, EZ escapes. Killer is a constant balance of pressure on the survivors and pressure on gens. Chase going on too long? Make the choice to cut it or keep going.

I like feeling like the "power" role. Demo and Oni feel so powerful and strong.

  • Still no shirtless Myers either smh.

  • NOED. That's it. And it's only if survivors don't do bones. Maybe Blood Warden if you can even get it to proc because survivors will just 99 gates. I guess if we're being REALLY broad you could count Deathslinger's ability to pull someone out of the gates. All killer second chances can be countered in some way, and one tiny mistake from a killer is punished exponentially meanwhile all 4 survivors can make boatloads of mistakes and play horribly and still escape.

  • His terror radius isn't bugged, his music is just quiet until he actually starts the chase. You just need a better ear for his music/terror radius.

Why should breaking the chain himself stun him? That means no matter what, even if he does use his power skillfully and successfully, he gets punished, then we have another Legion on our hands.

  • If you're on Xbox you can view achievements from your profile and get some bare bones stats.

No idea what Blood Rising is, but the other stuff is self explanatory.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/137382/are-they-leaving-the-clown-in-his-current-state-as-comedic-irony

Preface: I’ve been playing Clown since the release of Curtain Call. I went through lots of ups and down with Clown. Thought he was good, then thought he was crap and useless, then thought he’s not too bad, then rubbish again, but now after many epiphanies with Clown I can confidently say he’s good. Very good.

He could still do with some ever so teeny tiny buffs, but he doesn’t need much in my opinion.

I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again. Anyone that compares Clown to Freddy simply doesn’t understand Clown at all.

    Freddy cannot:

    • throw snares AHEAD of survivors
    • try to corral or trick survivors to EXACTLY where he wants them with snares.

    Snares are reactionary.

    Bottles are PREEMPTIVE.

Clown has a very deep breadth of strategy to him and requires super fast thinking. Once a player can understand how to end chases fast by using bottles optimally or cleverly tricking survivors, clowns other presumed weaknesses seem almost nonexistent.

To be clear I think buffs would be nice, but they only need to be small.

Clown is in a position where he could quite easily become very OP if BHVR weren’t careful, and almost all of the player base cannot see this.

I agree. Been playing Clown for not nearly as long, but after getting him to P3 50 by playing exclusively as him, I can say he isn't as bad as most people say. He needs small QOL changes, like removing the slowdown he gets when he throws a bottle, or making the reload gradual instead of one huge 5 second one and making Sticky Soda Bottle basekit.

  • This could even tie into Deathslinger's trailer. After he reels someone in, he doesn't really seem to care until he gets a good look at them, then his eyes go wide and he he starts breathing heavily. Who's he seeing? Bayshore, the man who wronged him and sent him on this path. He let's out his little chuckle at the fact he gets to enact his revenge again and again.

  • I had a neon Nea hiding in the bushes that I couldn't see. A NEON NEA! THE MOST VISIBLE SURVIVORS IN THE GAME! If survivor want to play immersed on this map they can easily make the game extend for an hour if they just don't do gens.

  • It's been less than a week, and he's a killer who requires a relatively high amount of skill. People are still figuring out how to play him and don't have their optimal builds on him yet and are just using the best of what they have. Like, why would I run Monstrous Shrine when I have NOED? As the weeks pass people will get better with him and have better builds, just wait a bit.

  • No clue. I main killer and have nobody to SWF with do all I just kinda assume you have the same gender are whoever you're playing as.

  • @Tactless_Ninja said:

Just don't get speared LMAO. You stupid?

I've fulfilled my trolling quota for today. Have a good day op and I wish you the best.

Nope, sorry not yet. Still have to assume 4 people are a dirty main for no reason. Come on, at this rate you're gonna get fired if you don't fill your quotas.

  • I feel like Deathslinger will be the new Hag. In the hands of most players, hot garbage, but those that get really good at aiming are going to be a force to be reckoned with. Give it some time and you'll get better at countering/dodging the harpoon. He's new and people are still struggling against him, same happened with Demo and Oni, they were really good for the first few weeks, now they're high midtier at best.

  • Ace in the Hole and Plunderer's Instinct. A risky gamble, considering you can get a brown toolbox with Scraps, but sometimes you get a purple medkit with a Styptic, or a purple flashlight with batteries, hell, even Skeleton Keys with Blood Amber.

  • @Spirez said:

Yes there is one way. While the match loads there will be tips under the loading bar. Sometimes there will be a tip on going against a certain killer. Whatever killer is named there is the killer you’re going to be against. Everyone usually has different tips so yours might not say a killer but your other survivors will. It’s random.

This only works for the first five times you face that specific killer I believe.

It got to that point already for me. All day today, every survivor I encounter runs god loops and makes sure I can't physically hit them even when harpooned. They now dodge all over the place and now bodyblock the chain. Can't even play the guy for fun now since everyone just wants to slam gens against him and leave. So just another typical day in DbD!

I predict in a few weeks you'll hardly ever see him like Oni and Demogorgon. And I almost never see the nurse and when I do it is usually an easy game.

I had a bully squad yesterday on Ironworks as Deathslinger. I honestly don't understand the reason of going in as a bully squad when a new killer literally came out yesterday. Like, you realize this is the reason all you see at high ranks is Nurse, Freddy, Billy, and Spirit? No one is going to want to play other killers when they know they're going to get bullied for 6 minutes straight and they can't do anything about it. Hopefully survivors go easy on him for the next few weeks, or else by the end of this week it'll probably be back to the same old 4 killers over and over.

  • I'm enjoying him while survivors are still trying to figure out how to counter him. Played a few games as survivor and it was pretty easy to dodge his harpoons. Give him a few weeks, people will get good with him, and people who can't won't and will stop playing him, similarly to Nurse and Huntress.

  • Oni is the strongest, but has the worst perks, Clown has Bamboozle and PGTW, but is really weak, and Deathslinger is probably the most fun to play for me, and has meh perks and is mid tier at best.

  • Screenshot_20200312-072335_Xbox.jpg Screenshot_20200312-072252_Xbox.jpg Screenshot_20200312-072315_Xbox.jpg Screenshot_20200312-072210_Xbox.jpg Screenshot_20200312-072143_Xbox.jpg Screenshot_20200312-072115_Xbox.jpg

RIP quality. I still have a few more like my Legion, I'll see if I can get those later.

there is no pattern. deatslinger is FAR from weak. theres a reason why so many killer complaints are ignored. its because theyre all absurd and a solid case of git gud

Deathslinger is extremely map dependant, similar to Huntress. Any indoor map isn't great for him barring Hawkins because of the corridors, he gets destroyed on large maps, so a good 60% of them, and he's subject to looping as a 110% with no counter if a pallet does get dropped. Basically, as long as you drop the pallet you're safe from getting downed by his power unless he Bloodlusts or it's a loop on Autohaven he can shoot over. Deathslinger isn't F tier, but he's far from A tier, arguably B tier as well.

Interesting, I did not know that you could pull a survivor at full health out of a bush and straight into the carry state. I didn't know that bushes hid survivors from BBQ, rendered them exposed to Iron Maiden, and had all the synergies that lockers do. I'm so glad we have people like you to help educate us on things that we would never know based on common sense and years of experience.

Inb4 Head On from a bush.

Something I hate even more is that so many people called out about the saboteur change being bad, yet they keep that, yet no one claims about gearhead and yet it gets changed.

There was also cries for Deathslinger being too weak. Ignored.

There were cries that the breakable wall at Shack was too strong. Now the breakable wall is opposite the pallet instead of next to it.

There were cries that new Sabo was too strong. Ignored.

There were cries that Hangman's Trick was too strong. It's been gutted, going from 16 meters to 6 meters.

    🤔 There's a pattern here and I don't like it.

  • I mean, why don't perks like Borrowed Time have a cooldown?

  • 0/10 worst update ever uninstalled.

Friend reminder he’s one of the best EU killer mains

Not just EU, Tru3 is debatably one of the best killer mains in the game, along with Otz, Scott Jund, and Zubat. Lo and behold, these streamers also have trouble sometimes with games like this.

  • Yeah, that's Nibbles! He's Deathslinger's little buddy, feed him some scraps of meat and he'll be all over you :)

  • Top floor has 3 breakable walls IIRC. Two that lead to the balcony where the gen is, and one that leads to the small rooms to the right of the stairs. Or that might be the first floor, either way, those two that lead to the balcony I know for sure exist.

  • Hey man, Nibbles is just trying to eat, leave him be.

  • Billy, maybe Freddy. Both can function well on any map, are subject to looping but have a way to counter it, Chainsaw for Billy, Snares for Freddy, and have great map pressure, while still being able to be outplayed by survivors through hiding or even just looping.

  • I just found something for Caleb's lore. In the description for his uncommon outfits, it says:

"After being detained for fifteen years, the prison warden paid him a visit, offering to expedite its release. There was a catch: he would have to fill the prison."

This means that his original sentence was actually longer than 15 years, but the deal with the warden shortened it, meaning that the former isn't actually correct. This means that Caleb was sentenced in 1860, was released early in 1875, worked for the warden for 6 years before realizing he was being double crossed and heading back and killing him, placing Caleb perfectly in 1881.

  • Basically I think Doc was using electricity to make muscles spasm and contract or relax to mimic as if the body was perfectly fine. Doing something like stimulating the heart with electricity to pump blood is basically what a pacemaker does IRL. He could've also been using electricity to make his lungs pump to breathe, basically like what an oxygen mask does, or using smaller electric currents to keep the brain functioning.
