It's not exactly fair, but consider this. Without the requirement to survive, what is the most time efficient way for players to get the crown on all the Survivors?

The answer is this; Run around looking for the crown. Once you have it, find the killer. Get them to hook you. Suicide on first hook. Requeue as another Survivor. Congrats, whoever decides to do that just ruined that game and... a minimum of however many unlicensed Survivors are in the game at this point. This issue compounds insanely quickly if there is only one crown per match (which I think is how it works? Idk.)

Compare that answer to the Killer side. What's the most time efficient way for a player to get all Killer crowns? Well the answer is... to absolutely murder the survivors as quickly as possible. A killer who gets lucky or heavily outskills the survivors can end the game through completing their objective far faster than by throwing and letting the Survivors out. Now... you might get Killers playing more sweaty than usual, but they won't be outright ruining games.

Survivors have the extra requirements to prevent a lot of games from being ruined for the duration of the event.

This was the exact problem with the first Hallowed Blight event. As soon as people got their vials filled with nectar, they'd find the killer and suicide on hook so they could move to the next game ASAP and get more vials and nectar. As such, this resulted in abhorrent queue times, all for a game where people would suicide 3 minutes in cause there were no more Pustulas to drain.

  • Yeah, I have to agree. When I originally saw the previews of the crown on Leaks By Daylight I was kinda hyped, but seeing them in game, not so much anymore. I might get Legion's, but that's probably it.

    That Deathslinger outfit though πŸ‘€πŸ‘€

  • It seems really inconsistent. I can't have Trails in the stairs in Dead Dawg Saloon, but I can place them on the stairs on the boat on Pale Rose? I believe there's a tooltip when loading into a match that says Trails don't work on stairs but correct me if I'm wrong. Punishment of the Damned also doesn't work on stairs but yesterday I had it go over and on top one of the cars on Badham that are outside of the school. Both powers seem really inconsistent with how and where they work.

  • Bug wise I'd say yes, although I'd argue it has some competition with the release of Cursed Legacy with the Basement bug and the sound bugs it also had, and the patch that gave us infinite Sprint Burst and the Wake Up! Bug. There was also Legion's infinite mending bug when using both the Filthy and Nasty Blade addons, but as for sound bugs this chapter takes the cake for how obscenely broken they've been.

  • It wasn't cause of the map. Well I'm sure the map had a bit of it due to it having more priority for the first week but it was cause of all the sound bugs. Sounds are more broken than they ever have been. Silent slugs are still rampant, survivors don't breathe or make injured sounds, footsteps are silent, Iron Will will just activate at random even if you don't have it, no more falling sounds, and god knows what else we have to find out, inb4 Quick and Quiet for every vault.

Even generator sounds are bugged. I had a gen in the Chem Lab in the new map that made ABSOLUTELY NO SOUND aside from the tapping sounds that happen from me working on it but no mechanical whirring or sounds of the pistons moving. He had no idea I was working on it cause he physically couldn't hear it.

Killer is in an absolutely horrendous state right now, and you never realize how much you need sounds until they're gone.

  • It's supposed to be like that. It's the KILLERS Basement, not Survivors. You're not supposed to just be able to waltz in and out freely, there should be a sense of dread and you should avoid it at all costs. It's basically like Jason's Shack, you want to avoid it at all costs cause it's the Killers dwelling.

  • I've only had survivors do this if I was farming with them. Yesterday I had a match as PH where I was doing really well and probably would've gotten a 4K but a Kate and Yui managed to get me to farm with them by just kinda stopping. So we farmed and had a fun time and helped get out Archive challenges done but they ended up dying cause they wouldn't leave ;-;

    I've got enough points just go you're making me sad ;-;

My colorblind self sees a minor texture difference but that's it. I've gotten him to P2 50, was saving up for P3, I'm seriously debating it now...

Yeah that's basically all there is. Even taking him to a custom game lobby to see it up close there's really only a minor difference in texture. Hell, I had more people thinking I was P3 with the regular head than with it. Maybe it's just the lobby lighting but I can barely see a color difference.

  • I just got him there and I'm a huge fan of everything but the head, there's barely a noticeable difference, it's red on red, kinda like Oni's P3 but even less noticeable. The body and knife are amazing though.

  • We were this close, we were this close to greatness...

  • So we're tunneling and ruining someone's fun cause they liked Lisa and bought her? That is so mind bogglingly dumb. That isn't gonna send any message to BHVR, you're just playing scummily for no reason. If you want to send a message to them don't buy it. It's that simple. You can send a message even further by not buying the Silent Hill DLC if you want. Match results aren't gonna mean #########, let them know with your wallet. Even then we don't know if this was BHVRs fault, it might've been a demand from Konami, and knowing Konami I wouldn't be surprised.

Right now you are ruining someone's game for no reason other than the fact they bought a skin for a character they liked from a series they liked. This is just disgustingly sad if I'm being completely honest.

  • No? She's just a skin. None of the skins are inherently toxic. Despite the reputation that Neon Neas amd Blendettes have most of them are just regular players, but there are a few people who play toxic with them with teabagging and flashlight clicking and give the skin a bad name I guess? As such there might be a few stinkers giving Lisa a bad name right now, but regardless I don't think anyone is toxic based on the skin they use, it's the way they play.

  • Pyramid Head is definitely one of the harder killers to learn. Give it some time. Funnily enough I was doing worse at P1 50 with 4 perks that I think are good on him but once I went to P2 and only had 1 perk I did better than I ever did before in a row. Surveillance, Ruin, Nurses, and I'm All Ears have nothing on just Surveillance alone.

  • They really need to shorten the stun for Punsihment of the Damned. A 5 second stun?!? Are you mad? I understand it's so that it can't be spammed at loops but come on. Even if you hit a survivor it's not worth it cause they'll get a Sprint Burst while you're lugging your ass at a crawl for 5 seconds and you'll have to break chase. It's like a Bubba Tantrum, except you have to Tantrum no matter what, and it doesn't instadown. At least shorten the stun on successful hits with it. If I missed, fair enough, I messed up, I'll eat the 5 second stun, but punishing me for hitting it?

  • I believe it was this way on the PTB, hooks, gens, and gates were no-no zones for Trails but now I think you can't place Trails on stairs and ramps for some reason. That might be an actual shadow nerf. If I'm wrong correct me.

  • Did you open DBD when it said Ready to Start? I've heard this happening to people cause of this and it's happened to me before as well. This time I didn't open it and all my stuff remained as it was. This was on Xbox right?

  • I'd like to see the new map but the Entity doesn't want me too :(

No one has burned any map offerings, and I've been to it once in about 6 games. I've been to Swamp and the Asylum and I'm not happy :(

Edit: I was typing this as I was loading into a match. Match loads and guess where I am? Asylum. Again. ######### this game.

  • Usually it drops around 11 AM EST, hopefully the same time for consoles, but someone correct me if I'm wrong about console times.

I still haven't seen how they pulled the Insta-down off.

    Any vid?

I believe it was pulled off by using Punishment of the Damned when basically on top of a survivor. I believe Janick said it had something to do with it counting as if an M1 had happened as well?

Go to 3:30 or so to see it.

Can't wait to play my new and improved Clown!

Oh goodness I forgot about Clown's buff! Tomorrow can't come any sooner. Super hyped for Pyramid Head as well!

  • Hex: EZ Spins

After whiffing an attack 5/4/3 times in a row, a random Dull Totem will become lit. While this totem is lit, any whiffed attack will cause you to lose 1%/2%/3% movement speed. Going below 100% movement speed grants the ability to commit Seppuku. If a survivor destroys this totem, lose 10% movement speed for the rest of the trial.

  • I don't think the solution is to remove the Hex part from Hex perks. Instead, make it so the killer has the ability to place a Hex on a specific totem, and the perk isn't active before that. You don't get to choose where totems spawn, but get to choose which totem your Hex occupies. This prevents them from being too strong cause they can't be removed, and removes the RNG of having a totem spawn literally next to a survivor or gen and losing it extremely fast, which seems to be the main problem you're having with Hexes.

  • Clown, hands down. It's really well put together and really gives you a feel for how gross and vile his character truly is.

Second favorite would probably be Ghostface. BHVR really knows how to write lore for straight up serial killers really well.

  • None. P3 50 is the first priority and even then I never run addons as any killer. I only usually run addons the game before I prestige them where I bring the strongest and see what havoc I can wreak with them.

  • I agree with both maps, but I'd throw in Disturbed Ward. The central building is so strong with so many safe pallets and windows, and cause it's the central building it isn't exactly hard to get to it once a chase starts unless you're by one of the really far away corners.

  • Yes. I like to get all my mains to P3 50, and because he's liscenced he probably won't have have much in the way of cosmetics.

  • God no. MoM was completely broken and uncounterable and hurt M1 killers even more when they were already struggling. MoM was the single most broken perk to ever grace DBD and it's in a perfectly fine spot now.

  • For killer, I used to play Demo, Ghostface, and Oni all the time alongside Deathslinger, Wraith, Plague, and Legion, and I took a month or so break and I noticed I haven't been doing as well as I used to with them. I'm getting revealed a lot more often as Ghostface, missing Shred and doing overall worse as Demo, and missing hits as Oni that I could've hit easily a month or so ago. On the flipside, I've been doing so much better as Deathslinger compared to before I left. Maybe I've lost my edge or I'm facing better survivors, all I know is that I have to get back on my groove with these 3.

  • I agree so much. I don't even know why hitting the hooked survivor is an option at this point. It serves no use other than being toxic and making me hiss hits that I clearly should've made but didn't cause of autoaim. It serves no purpose other than to get in the killers way and let survivors get free escapes.

  • 88%

    I was so close 😭😭

  • Shhh, let them keep doing it. As a Legion main I have no complaints.

  • I've been gone from the Forums for a while and seeing people I'm used to being Trusted not anymore feels weird. Best of luck to all Trusted members and people who have had the Trusted role, you guys are all amazing, never change! ❀❀❀

  • Any of the stealth killers. My eyes just suddenly decide to not work against a Ghostface, Pig, Wraith, or Myers. For killer, any neon Neas who actually know what they're doing. Those people are scary and I don't like them.

  • For my experience personally

Survivor: Borrowed Time. This perk has saved me and my teammates more times than I can count.

Killer: Devour Hope. Devour Hope is 100% my favorite killer perk and it's really strong if you can get the tokens and a good totem spot. Granted, it gets destroyed pretty often, but on matches where it doesn't get destroyed you're gonna have a fun game as killer.

  • Trapper: Starts with all of his traps. Trapper Sack is now basekit.

Wraith: A boost in movement speed while cloaked or he is completely invisible a certain distance away and the shimmer can be seen when he gets closer.

Billy: None. Fix his animation bugs please.

Nurse: Remove the Blink recharge but keep her addons the way they are now, or at least keep Omega Blink and 5 Blink Nurse gone.

Hag: Make her fingers not so wiggly. I believe before she got her addon pass with Trapper her fingers didn't wiggle as much. Now it looks weird and I don't like it.

    Doctor: None, he's great.

    Myers: None.

Huntress: Make it so that Iridescent Head can't stack with Leather Loop and Infantry Belt. Fix her hitboxes.

Bubba: Oof, poor Bubba. Make him move faster while charging his chainsaw, I guess?

Freddy: Make Pallet Freddy the base, and Snares are his addons. Add in an addon that lets me play as old Freddy please?

Pig: Rules Set No.2 is now basekit.

Clown: Along with his current changes in the PTB, make his reload gradual, so you don't have to do the whole 5 second reload for 4 bottles. You get 1 bottle for every second you reload, cutting his full reload down to 4 seconds.

    Spirit: Fix sound bugs.

Legion: Lower the stun time after Frenzy to 2 seconds, for 15 seconds after the fatigue, Legion moves at 110% and has no Stain. Hitting survivors who are already in Deep Wounds in Feral Frenzy gain no speed boost.

    Plague: Fix vomit hitboxes.

Ghostface: Make the reveal mechanic more consistent.

Demogorgon: Quiet him down a bit and make Rat Liver and Rat Tail basekit. Give him an addon pass and make more of his addons focus on Shred and less on Portals.

    Oni: None

    Deathslinger: Fix his hitboxes.

Pyramid Head: Make it easier to apply Torment, maybe Punishment of the Damned leaves a trail that stick around until the next time he uses Punishment of the Damned.

  • This and making Rat Liver would be a huge step in the right direction for Demo. Undetectable is worthless on him right now, and maybe an addon pass to make more focus on Shred and less on portals, then I'd say Demo is in as great a spot as he can be.

  • The Putrid Serum Vial, Sadistic Trapper, and Entity Abstract. I love the Hallowed Blight and the cosmetics so the Vial was a no brainer. The Sadistic Trapper is the only Red Killer Emblem I have cause I haven't paid for any other Rifts, and the Entity Abstract just looks cool.

I can't tell you how many games I've been in where the killer is snowballing with 4 or 5 gens up.. They then get greedy and start tunneling everything.

I see streamers and youtubers doing it too which reinforces it. DS OP? LOL

Tunneling? If the Killer is snowballing and in this case I'll assume they have hooked two survivors to be similar to OPs case. So two survivors hooked, two fully healed. If I find you I'm gonna chase you, I've hooked two survivors since you've been unhooked, I'm not gonna leave you and waste time looking for the only other survivor. It isn't even tunneling at this point, this is trying to keep my pressure up. Tunneling would be choosing to ignore every other survivor and only chasing you directly after unhook, which is an appropriate case for DS to activate, this isn't tunneling.

  • Nurse, 100%. Especially now with her rework she's a nightmare. She went from a steep learning curve to a 90 degree angle. I have so much respect for anyone who stuck with Nurse or is trying to learn Nurse nowadays.

  • New Freddy. At the cost of becoming viable Freddy became boring, both in gameplay and addons. He may have been weak but his addons were super fun to mess with, and he was a lot more fun and unique to play IMHO, almost makes me wish he had an addon that let you play as old Freddy.

  • No, because I don't run perks that he negates. Even if I did I probably wouldn't cause you just have to avoid being Tormented and you can still use them, and besides you'll only see him prominently for the first week or two.

I forgot aboit Spirit not killing....but I don't think she was a completely good person before hand. She drove her dad to ruin making him pay her college bills. She should have got a student loan or held off...why drive your family into the poor house...??

I mean there were a lot of factors that drove the Yamaoka's into poverty, Rin's mother was sick and needed medicine and her father got fired. Rin isn't completely to blame here, and it seems like she was a completely normal person barring the rage she inherited from Kazan and that one incident we see in her Archive cutscene.

  • In all honesty there is no right or wrong answer. There are so many factors to take in such as what map is it, tile spawn and layout, what perks is each side running, what items or addons does each side have, what killer is it, matchmaking, SWF, offerings, voice comms, how good your teammates are and what they're running, even down to the way dedicated servers behave.

For instance, a 4 man SWF running the best perks and items + addons is gonna have a ridiculously easy time running against a Nurse trying to do her daily on Lery's, and 4 solo survivors are gonna have a much tougher time running against Iridescent Head + Infantry Belt Huntress with an Ebony Mori on Autohaven, though I do believe survivor generally has it easier more often due to things like how many more maps are in their favor compared to killers, or how they can have second chance perks overlap, and I 100% believe killer is way more stressful than survivor.

  • To play: Hag. For the life of me I just can't play her. I don't have the brain cells possible to place traps correctly or use them correctly, and being 110% hurts me even more.

To play against: M1 killers. I just find them so boring to play against. I'll always take a Deathslinger, Huntress, or Spirit over a Wraith, Trapper, or Ghostface.

  • Yes, yes, yes, for the love of god yes. Father Campbell's Chapel is fine, but Disturbed Ward has the grossest building in the game and is in need of desperate reworking.

  • @Dead_by_Gadfly said:

Yeah i run goofy stuff to. I was playing fred the other day and the only meta perk i had was bbq. Didnt have add ons either. It was a swf with OoO, which whatever at this point. I managed to kill 2 of them including OoO and she started messaging me talking #########. Im like dude...you just got whooped and you dont even know πŸ˜‚

It wasn't even that I won, my Spirit game is trash and I don't find her fun enough to fully main her and level her up. They won and got mad that they won, I guess?

  • 20200601_222117.jpg 20200601_222125.jpg 20200601_222134.jpg

I was running Totem Protector Spirit and got 1 kill while trying to enjoy myself. The horror, I know.

  • I like the idea of Hemorrhage being made basekit even if it won't do much overall. Make it basekit when you get Tormented and replace that godawful Very Rare addon with Hindered. Or just go whole hog and make running across the trails make you Hindered at base, but that seems way too powerful to me, especially cause you'll be using them around loops.

  • Dear god no. Basically once you get hit by FF you're down in 15 seconds or however long the DW timer is no matter what. That's even worse than pre-nerf Legion. If Legion did get a buff, I'd much prefer it being something along the lines of "Missing an attack in Feral Frenzy only depletes 25% of the meter" or "Legion's stun time is now only 2 or 3 seconds, but they remain a 110% killer for the next 10 seconds, the red Stain is removed during this time period". Bringing back old Legion is a huge no no.

  • I got it first try on a Coldwind map, Rancid Abattoir I think? The one with the slaughterhouse amd the corrals, I can't remember names for the life of me. It was against a Doctor and thank goodness I got good teammates, this Kate was able to run him around for a good few minutes where I was able to complete the challenge, and I took over the chase to make up for it once the Kate had been injured. At the end of the match he camped a Nancy and that gave me enough time to complete the challenge if I hadn't already, but luckily someone brought BT and I was able to take the last hit to get both the unhooker and the Nancy out. If you just sit near a jungle gym or loop while the killer is being looped there you'll get it done pretty easily.
