  • Myer, Trapper and Clown.

These are my main Killers, and I feel their kit allows to deal with all but the very best teams. This may be an unpopular opinion, though.

  • Everyone with enough DBD experience knows object is a SWFs strongest asset that isn´t comms. There are a few Killers that Object will be a detriment to have against (god tier Nurses/Spirits/Ghostfaces) but pretty much every other Killer will be utterly destroyed by an object team, given said team is at least decently good at the game. Exceptions being 5k+ hours Killer mains facing non-tournament level survivors with object.

As someone who "mains" Trapper, I have a very distinct opinion on object and people that use the perk. It´s very upsetting to know that the chief of balance thinks a 4man with Object against Trapper can be dealt with by ignoring it, and that the impossibility to use Trappers power to any reasonable capacity is just a "perception problem".

I won´t repeat the shockingly long list of uncounterable benefits object provides, they have been posted before plenty of times. Never have I seen a good argument as to why Object in its current, extremely overpowered form should remain unchanged. In my book, this perk is way more of a problem than keys ever were.

  • First off, franklins only counters those keys that are wielded by inexperienced survivors. The key will be stashed away until needed.

Second, keys pose the same problem as old Moris. Both require(d) to do the main objective just partially (old moris cut the last hook off, keys cut off gens/ opening gates) in order to win (Kill/escape).

I agree that they DO require work, but so did old moris ( most killers still had to find the survivor twice and beat them a grand total of 4 times in a chase) yet they were deemed too anti fun and strong. This holds true for keys too, but to a slighty lesser degree.

It´s also hard to argue that an item that ONE survivor brings can get several Survivors to escape, despite them having lost the game, is not unbalanced.

  • I´m a huge fan. Played him a bunch through August and early September, now back at it again playing him basically exclusively. I´m currently trying to get really good at him. P3 all perks, not using addons till I feel I got him down on a high level.

Currently it´s a huge difference depending on Survivors faced. The really good latenight rank 1 teams give me a hard time, but not so great teams get FUBAR really fast.

I´d kinda like seeing more leniancy while using his power, but on the other hand the strict limitations are what keeps him from being OP, so idk ^^

  • This was the complete opposite of what I expected from the title. They did good, agree :D

  • I think Trapper and Oni could use some more skins. Most of them are very basic, and they have very few available.

I´d like a WWE skin series, both of them would be prime candidates for some sick wrestling skins.

  • This looks awesome! The art and design team always delivers so well.

I'm glad you are owning up to it and not denying it. We have all fallen into rage, and I have said things I don't like saying (Not with identity, just like calling a friend a [cuss] nugget or... "female dog" lmao) but we can only move on and learn from it! And yes, they are all such wonderful people!! One person who has kept me coming back is @Slashstreetboy and literally everyone else in this thread (Shout out to auntie jyn and coney for adopting me :)!!) And everyone you listed is f'ing phenomenal, truly lovely people-- You yourself included, don't fight me on that! So, have a great day and stay safe <3!

    💙

It was so cute seeing @Jyn_Mojito dish out these lovely hugs! This kind of sweet empathy warms my heart. @megswifey, @MadLordJack , @GoodBoyKaru ,@SCP_FOR_DBD , @GrimmReaper , @itsaconehead, @Dabihwow, @LuffyBlack. I hope you´re all safe and you´re doing good. Much love from someone that feels far too wholesome for his own liking right now 😅

  • Disagree. Maybe it´s because I´m 30, but it looks way too goofy and cheap for my liking. I hope it never makes an appearance in DBD.

Dam, just remembered the next Killer will be Springtrap although it looks and sounds differently, has a different story and background, and will cost more than 2 yum yum.

Good for you and your companions, you finally got the cheapest and least interesting "horror" franchise of all time into DBD. So please spare us more posts about it, we are closing in on a 5 digit number already.

  • Diversion definately is a hidden gem, not only useful, but insanely fun as well!

    Yes I faced TheEntitysLeftHand's Trapper.

Oh dam, I forgot, I faced lefty before, too :D

He got me, and I think only me, but I had my stupid archive done so I didn´t really care. His outfit made me suspicious (he wore the classic) and it was confirmed after the match.

  • Since I got it, nobody has mentioned it. As you said, it´s not exactly an impressive charm to begin with. Gonna take it off for something more visually pleasing.

  • I played vs Otz, Nina and friends once. It was a great match, 7 hooks but only 1 Kill. Otz was quite fond of my Trapper, if I may say so, it made my day 💘

And then there are the countless TTV people you get every other lobby, of which I know none :D

  • It would at least be better than the current form :P

  • Many people still want Jason. I´m one of them, he´s the only character I truly want to join our roster. Without him, DBD will never be complete, and neither will the band.

Oh gosh, I adore you and all of the kind people in this community! I've seen toxicity like this in games from every FPS to roblox of all places. It's just unfortunate, but you, buttercake, grimmreaper, madlordjack, and many others have always kept me going. I just feel so anxious, especially when it gets personal (my username on xbox is extremely girly, and I always worry I'll get odd messages over it or plain misogyny) But anyways, thank you for being so kind to people on the forums and for this wonderful message <3

Thank you so much. This goes both ways, you and some others have a special place among the forum members for me.

I totally agree with you that the select nice forum members are essentially what keeps this place worthy of returning to. I was so happy seeing that many people show their appreciation for one another in "Your favorite Forum Members!"

This kind of anxiety is only natural, especially when you´re so young. Don´t beat yourself up too much over it :)

  • I´m sorry to read that you got upset over the community. Seeing how impressively positive you usually came across, I dreaded the toxicity might get to you eventually from the very beginning. It happens to many people that start off with a nice attitude. Contrary to people that just don´t care, they are more susceptible to negative influences. I hope you feel better about all this soon.

  • You can set yourown goals if the joy of playing DBD isn´t enough for you. You can grind for achievements, truly master a high skill Killer, complete all the archives or get everyone p3-all perks!

You know what. At this point, I think it's better to just edit the post and remove anything that alludes to anyone in any way. That way if the thread is deleted, you'll have the moral high ground unquestioningly. If there really is no corruption, the thread will stay up. We will have been proven wrong.

Just did, I´m pretty much baffled though that @Orion would consider something this excessively vague a violation of naming and shaming rules.

I don't know how the mod interface works, but I do know that people have complained about the mods "editing their comments" when all they did was move a thread.

OP can still edit it, though, assuming they even see this discussion again before the mods delete it.

Why would they delete it though? My descriptions are so vague that you´d have to be intimately familiar with DBDs history to even make an educated guess about what I´m referring to.

  • @HollowsGrief said:

I mean, don't tell the guy in charge of balance he might actually do this.

This is actually well in the realm of possibility. Since Objects die rather often (who would have guessed sherlock!?) the statistics may indicate that Object needs buffs to improve the escape rate of the users.

  • Object of Obsession - Causes matches to be extremely unfun for either side since Killers are forced to eliminate the Object in the higher brackets, it´s way too strong and doesn´t have a meaningful downside as of now - Given it´used by a competent SWF. For solos, it´s fine, but good teams easily make this the best Survivor perk in the game.

    My suggestions for changes:

Either heavily limit usage. For example, it could keep the range conditions but only reveal the Killer for 3/4/5 seconds with 60s CD.

Or add a meaningful downside to it. This could be done several ways: a) The user suffers from the Exposed status efect b) The user can be Killer by hand without getting previously hooked c) the user suffers a tremendous action speed penalty

  • Oh man you almost got me! Tomorrow, make a suggestion that moris shouldnt require hooks to be used, which seems equally broken :D

  • I love that overall, the game is moving towards a more balanced state. There are only a few blatant, game breaking issues left - namely Moris, Object, Keys, SWF, some BS addons. Some are even known to get addressed soon, great! For others, we may have to fight a bit more to tune them down to a reasonable level and make DBD a better place.

With the new and improved MMR coming up, we may even have decent matchmaking in the future, so new players aren´t getting utterly destroyed and bullied anymore!

  • My top 3 would be Halloween, Curtain Call and Cursed Legacy, but I really like most of them. The only chapter I´m hyped for to get added is Friday the 13th.

  • To be fair, there were people that hadn´t heard about FNAF before we saw 20 posts about it per day on this very forum. Now there´s more people that despise the franchise thanks to the spammers!

  • Congratulations, I knew you'd make it!

  • Never!

But if I do, it's my free will...or is it?

  • I think he's referring to the notorious Survivors rule book for Killers, which is designed to make the Killers time as miserable as possible and enabling bullying by the Survivors. It's a joke among the seasoned crowd, yet to this day many people feel pressured to comply to at least some of its rules. It's baffling.

  • @Phaeris said:

Its a sad fact that on 80 percent of killers, if you dont find someone and down them in the first 30 seconds, the game is lost due to gen speed.

To be fair, that isn't entirely true depending on the Killer. I main Trapper and Myers and I basically never have a down in the first 30 seconds, yet my average is 3k+.

@MadLordJack I feel you though, somet days are just kinda cursed.

  • I have difficulties to pick one of your options. To me, it's situationally dependant. I'll slug for the 4k if I have information about the last Survivors location and I'm confident I can down them reasonably fast. Otherwise, I'm down for hatch game.

  • @Aldath said:

Hmmm, I really like Nightmare, but I'm having problems using him right, usually I kill 1 person at most, and as mentioned, the rest are lucky strikes with NOED.

I put Snares on loops, but I have the feeling I'm not doing it right, as I usually put them nearby Pallets and 100% of the time they drop it and I have to break it. I feel I'm not putting enough pressure as Nightmare.

I'm using NOED, Thrilling Tremors, Franklin's Demise and Blood Warden, for lack of better Perks. I have most of the Meta perks available, except those of Spirit, Shape, Demo and Ghostface (TT not included). I have 0 luck trying to get PGTW for the build, and I think I might be getting paired often against SWFs (I play in Latin American servers btw) as there's just no way randoms can be THIS coordinated against all of my efforts.

What do you mean having 0 luck with getting PGTW? If it´s a grind thing, you will get it eventually, don´t worry. Otherwise, it might be a good decision to get your hands on the Curtain Call DLC (not only for pop, good stuff in there in general).

With Freddy you can afford to literally spam the snares all around the loop, it doesn´t slow you down and has no cooldown. You place enough of them to force the Survivor to either move away, opening an oppurtunity for a hit, or drop the pallet quickly, which is also good.

Bear in mind that a slowed Survivor can´t fast vault windows, consider this while placing snares in jungle gyms or buildings, for example. Slow vaults give you hits!

Freddy IS the easiest to play high tier Killer. In my opinion, he gets really old real fast though since he doesn´t offer a lot of oppurtunities for you to shine. A good and a great Freddy look basically the same. So if you seek long term DBD commitment, I highly recommend picking up a Killer that has a high skill ceiling as well for later when your general Killer gameplay is already pretty dam good and you only need to adapt to the new mechanics. Great Examples Being Huntress, Oni, Billy or Nurse, but there are more.

  • They propably have something in store for DS somewhere down the line. You can´t really compare the two though, since a single DS is a hundred times more impactful than a single pop, and there can (and often are) 3 or 4 DS present in a single match. This perk alone has changed the general gameplay of DBD to a massive (and overall good) degree, since it´s an effective deterrant against "tunneling". Pop was decent before and still will be.

The comparison only ever arose through the reasoning behind the Pop nerf which read exactly like what you´d expect reading in a DS nerf note.

The wendigo? chapter 18 is not supposed to be licensed or am I wrong?

The Wendigo isn´t licensed. It´s a creature of folklore, like a Faery or a Leprechaun for example.

  • I reckon this goes hand in hand with general performance optimisation and game health. It´s kind of a bummer that DBD, as simple as it is, takes up unreasonable amounts of ressources compared to other, graphically more developed titles. I just don´t understand why. Judging by the looks only, the stable 60 FPS console players were promised years ago should easily be achievable.

Would have chosen "other" and named a rework/heavy nerf for Object, but polishing the game overall should still come first.

That build is pretty good but i think i might try out enduring or butal strength instead if whispers. I never have too much trouble finding survivors without info perks but i can see why whispers is good on him i just would rather have another chase perk.

I thought trapper did pretty good with hexs since he can defend them and get a notification when a survivor goes to cleanse one if you block it with a trap. I know he doesn't have map pressure in terms of mobility but being able to easily defend totems surely makes them worth trying on him.

Good on you for having good tracking! For Trapper, Whispers also acts as a warning whether it is safe to place a trap or not, which from my experience helps a lot.

The thing with the hexes is that while yes, depending on their positioning you can defend them decently as Trapper, but since you´re already on a massive time crunch it may bring you over the edge in terms of overpreparing, hence giving up too much gen pressure at the start.

I feel like he doesn´t need any chase perks other than maybe STBFL, but everyone has their preferences of course.

  • For Trapper, my basic build which tends to work very well consists of Whispers, Corrupt Intervention, Safe the Best for Last and either Surge or Pop. Always a bag addon, preferably with a tar bottle, but the non-bag is not as essential and can be switched for something else of your liking.

You can actually make quite a lot of perks work on him. Sloppy Butcher is decent, BBQ of course is ok, Infectious fright can be really nice and helps during the crucial snowball. The popular ruin+undying is not so great on him, imo. In fact, most hexes aren´t that great on him from my experience.

  • Due to the fact they don´t communicate on the matter I´m guessing they´re unable to determine who got them. Depending on if and on what the AC were spent, it may cause refunding issues. Those who get them will propably get to keep them.

  • Feelsbadman, I didn´t get any, either. Since this directly affects their income I´m not counting on getting them. Feels unfair, though, but what can you do.

^This. I´m down with the thiccness, the mist got nothing on her.

On a serious note, I never percieved Ormond to have denser mist or anything like that. Not that it would be needed, though, since scratches and blood are very hard to track there as-is. Might be a Blight POV thing.

  • @Aven_Fallen said:

I agree strongly with your post. Just my 2 cents:

"1) Most Killer players aren´t that good"

This is correct. I am one of them. It is not hard to get to Rank 1 on either side IMO, but you really notice the difference between a good Killer and a bad Killer. Like, there was a Rank 3 Ghostface (not Rank 1, but still Red Ranks) who did not break really strong Pallets. Like, he tried to get me on Shack with the Pallet down. I was baffled.

"2) There is not much Killer variety in the high ranks"

I have to disagree on that one. I get quite a big variety of Killers, even tho, the overwhelming majority is always Huntress. Just yesterday I had:

1 Trapper, 2 Billys, 2 Nurses (one of them Console), several Huntress, 1 Hag (urgh, but it is a really rare sight), 2 Doctors, 1 Bubba, 1 Freddy, 1 Legion, 1 Plague, 1 Ghostface, 2 Slingers and 2 Blights.

This is a pretty good variety. At least I rarely get bored, but there are also days, where I go against Huntress 4 times in a row, followed by a bunch of Spirits.

"3) Spirit is extremely frustrating to verse"

This is correct. I use Iron Will, so basically I hope that she does not have Stridor. If she does, she has to mess up a lot (OR Soundbugs happen), to have a chance. And even if she does not have Stridor, no guarantee that the teammates will survive long enough, when they dont have Iron Will.

    "4) 4 Escapes happen frequently"

This goes both ways. I have the feeling that games are either 4Ks or 4 man escapes. If it is a 1K, this mostly happens near the end. Of course there are 2 man escapes, but I see them in the minority. Simply because the Snowball potential is pretty high, so either the Killer is not able to apply enough pressure, which leads to a 4 man escape, or they are good at it and it turns out to be a 3v1 quite early, which mostly ends up in a 4K (or 3K with Hatch Escape).

So I guess, the most escapes where more than one person escapes are 4 man Escapes.

Thank you! This example of questionable Killer play shouldn´t be a thing, yet it does happen even at red ranks....

I´m glad you have more variety. I feel like this is pretty important to keep the game fresh on the Survivor side. Personally, I got pretty tired of Huntress and Phead for the time being.

Strongly agree with your assessment on point 4. Depending on how the early game goes and neither side throws, it usually snowballs from there.

  • @chieften333 said:

I wish there was more killer diversity in higher ranks. Sadly to have much of a chance of winning against higher level survivors you either have to know a low level killer in and out. Or play the meta and get flamed in the end game chat.

Agree on that. I main Trapper and Myers for the most part, and great teams give me a hell of a sweat. This is especially true for Trapper, anything goes in these matches, but with Myers a 4k or 3k+ hatch is pretty much the expected outcome.

    @NoOneKnowsNova said:

As another solo queue player who’s rank 1, I’ll agree to all of these except three, and two to an extent.

Personally I love facing a Spirit, aswell as a Nurse as they’re extremely different to the rest of the cast. Yes sometimes it can be annoying when I have a poor team against a great Spirit, but I can say that for any killer against a poor team.

As for point two, I see a bit more variety than you claim, with me seeing Legion, Ghostface and Myers fairly often.

Other than that, great analysis! Usually these things often come off as biased yet this one managed to stay neutral, so well done there.

I´m glad you encounter more variety! My personal little journey luckily doesn´t reflect the broad sum of experiences.

    @MigrantTheGreat said:

    2) I strongly agree with this. I firmly believe that it's a product of poor killer design! Most of the red rank killer's I have played against are killer's that anti loop well, or killer's that are hard to counter

    3) I hate to say this, but as a Spirit main their is a way to fight Spirit but the thing is, she can adapt to how your countering her! Spirit is a product of what's wrong with looping! Survivor's don't like guessing and not being able to do something so they just have to hope that she makes a mistake, this is exactly how it feels to play 90% of the killer roaster which why I believe something needs to be done about it!

    7) I haven't mastered all of these things and I don't mean to rain on your parade but they reason why I believe that the community seems to calling looping, etc, unskillful is due to the lack of effort it takes compared to what is that killer's have to do!

I think DBD in its current state allows every Killer to do well, given they are experienced enough and the Survivors aren´t top 0,1%. Your argument painting Spirit as some sort of "turned tables" still holds merit, though.

  • Oni is the only high tier Killer I regularly play. He´s just really fun to me - strong power that requires build-up and still has lots of counterplay options. In my opinion he´s overtaken old Billys spot for most balanced Killer.

I just really like the mobility and playstyle, and in comparison to Billy his roar and smashing just never seems to get old or boring. He takes skill but is rewarding. He isn´t addon dependant which is always nice. He also seems to be a hidden gem in terms of BP, most of my games end with 30-32k.

My tactic is usually the same, but can alter depending on the circumstances. For example, I´ll usually milk the first guy hit till Wrath is ready, but given the chance I´ll injure a second Survivor to increase blood drops overall. Once the power is ready, he´s pretty straight forward.

The most hillarious matches would be those were the whole team gets downed within 1 power use, but I always feel bad when this happens. Luckily there´s usually at least 1 Unbreakable to try and make a comeback, but it´s pretty much over at this point anyway.

  • It´s impossible to make Ormond any worse by accident dude. In order to do so, they would have to approach it with this exact intent. No way they will make it any more Survivor sided.

  • Survivor propably a 5 or 6

Killer propably an 7 or 8

Given a 10 is tournament level 0,001% Top players and a 1 is a first time player :D

  • I love that one :D

A sitcom with our favorite Slashers would be so dope.

If Jason finally makes his DBD appearance, the game is complete in my eyes. The band needs to get back together!

  • It´s mainly for memeing or a challenge for the extra confident. Niche use for resilience build.

Pair it with Self Care, Object of Obsession and For the people for the ultimate Big Brain Build!

Or just if you enjoy the particular Survivors groans :P
