    It doesn’t create new homophobes/racists.

no one starts to hate LGBT+ people just because they are featured heavily in some kind of media. The hate had to be there before. Maybe because of the representation you see more people speaking out against it, but that’s just because they didn’t have a reason to speak about it before.

don’t make the LGBT community the bad guys here. They just should be treated the same way as straight people. Nothing more. And nothing less.

Thank you for twisting my words and taking what I said the completely wrong way. I never said they were the bad guys. Stop looking at everything as if it's black and white. Bad or good. Life is more nuanced than that. When I mentioned the cycle I never said it was bad and I never said it was good nor did I imply that LGBTQ are bad guys here. That's all from you. But anyway things have gotten a little off topic so let me go back to my original point.

Don't get butthurt if they don't add an LGBTQ character. And don't get butthurt if they do. Because at the end of the day it really doesn't matter what a set of pixels has attractions to in a game where it plays 0 part in.

This is not a chicken and egg situation. If you study history, you can see which came first. Why do you think we went from Romans and Greeks, who were accepting of all orientations, and some older cultures that even had a third gender, to now? Because I assure you, nobody made a big deal out of these things back then.

History wasn't as kind as you believe. Sure there were some cultures that were more accepting than others but there were also cultures that were very unforgiving when it came to these matters. But of course it didn't start that way. That's not what I'm saying. What I am saying is that it has grown into a cycle recently. The cycle creates new homophobes and racists etc and it also exposes those who already were more than it does create.

I also find it ironically amusing because homophobes, racists, etc., are what drive people to be more vocal about sexuality, race, etc., which they supposedly hate.

The classic never ending cycle you'll see it everywhere. All shapes and sizes. Even in this game though obviously nowhere near as significant as the one you mention. The whole toxic survivors creates toxic killers creates toxic survivors etc. Homophobes and racists, cause more vocal about sexuality and race creates more homophobes and racists etc.

"if possible". In some countries, or some regions of some countries, it's not possible. That's just the way homophobes are, they can't live and let live.

    And a tragedy that is.

  • @Orion said:

Depends on where you live, I suppose, since other people also shape us to some extent. If you're LGBT in a heavily homophobic country, your orientation is going to be the main thing other people will focus on, which in turn will be the main thing you will focus on.

And those ignorant people are the ones you must distance yourself from if possible. As the old saying goes "sticks and stones may break my bones...blah, blah, blah" never let other people break you with their words. For they only have as much power as you enable them to have. There are people out there who care not for the sexual attractions you have but the qualities that truly matter like empathy, kindness, politeness etc. Those are the people you must find. And keep close to you. They will bring the true person out in people.

I guess people see what they want to see...

in the end we will eventually get at least one confirmed LGBT chat. That’s a fact and the devs already said they want to be inclusive.

And let's hope that it is done right for the people that do care and want it.

Well, who I am, I can assure you, is not defined by my bedroom.

Glad to hear that is the case. There are many qualities that define us and who we are attracted to is not as significant as the rest of what makes us, us. In my opinion that is.

  • @Mooks said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1978117#Comment_1978117

I care more about the power of the killer btw.

it’s pretty much the people against LGBT inclusion that care so much about this topic.

    and

being LGBT doesn’t only have to be about sex. It’s about self-identity, experiences and struggles in life, relationships etc. all those things are already a big part in DbDs lore.

To be fair I've seen more posts get riled up for it than against it. At the end of the day it doesn't matter if we do get a LGBTQ+ character or if we don't. And people shouldn't get all riled up whatever the outcome is for these new characters. We all spend more time playing matches than looking at the lore page anyway. At least that's my take on it.

  • What a time to be alive where we don't care if the upcoming killer is going to be creepy or have interesting powers or if the new survivor has interesting perks but rather we care about what these fictional characters get up to in the bedroom!

  • All I'm going to say is this. It absolutely does not matter if we get a character that's LGBTQ+ and it does not matter if we never do. You're going to be spending most of your time in matches anyway not looking at the lore page. Nobody should get butthurt if we do get one and if we don't.

  • I dunno about that one he does like to use the old force choke from time to time

  • Sounds like a remix of the Mandalorian theme. Grogu as next killer?

  • Use whatever you want whether that be 4 second chance perks as survivor or iri head add-on for huntress. Don't let people tell you how to play just because they don't like loosing on a video game. If it's in the game it's free reign to use. Not your fault the Devs are too lazy to rebalance any of it.

Also I would just ignore survivors telling you, you can't use certain things because it's "cheap" "annoying" "op" all the while they're running their 4 second chance perks. Don't let those bozos dictate how you play.

But that character doesn't represent them at all. This is what I've been saying. You are more than the color of your skin, or your sexuality. What is not nice is to be defined who you are by the color of your skin or sexuality. I find that quite offensive. Attempting to represent people in that way is also extremely offensive.

I very much agree. It's sad to see we're still at that point where people are only defined by their sex, race and sexuality and not by their personality.

If I wanted a character that was like me in the game then I'd want them to share the same personality traits as me. Are they Enthusiastic? A pessimist? An Optimist? Etc. Things that define who they are as a person. The way they behave and what they believe.

Wouldn't matter to me if they're black or white, male or female, gay or straight. None of that should be important when creating a character. None of those things are what define people. These things should come last when shaping a character.

If people only see themselves and others for the colour of their skin, the people they're sexually attracted to and the reproductive organs they have then they are seeing things through the wrong eyes.

Can you provide screenshots of the same commenters contradicting themselves?

Otherwise your point is, well, pointless.

That would go against the rule of naming and shaming which is not what I am here to do. Look for the thread titled something along the lines of "When Ruin/Undying is nerfed I'm leaving" you'll find it there unless it's been deleted. Pretty sure the "Bye-Bye" thread has people calling the OP skill-less for using NOED. Look for it and you'll find the double standards here.

  • I like how this thread has people saying use what you want yet when there's a thread where a killer mentions they are going to start using ruin/undying they get called a skill-less ######### lol

Better to be an "enlightened ignorant" than a nihilist that can only contribute with sarcastic remarks with no intention to change the game.

You've summed up nearly every thread. Most of them are met with sarcastic remarks from people looking to stroke their ego. You'll seldom find a civil discussion in this awful community. Everyone is at eachother's throats here even if people share simple ideas or their opinions on something.

I dont understand why people are so against a fnaf chapter, honestly. I can understand wanting another chapter more, but the amount of hate that idea gets is way too extreme.

People were also crying like little babies when they announced the silent hill chapter, now everyone loves it. I wouldn't take this community seriously, buddy.

Imagine DBD was owned by EA.

They'd cancel it just when it starts to get good. They have a habit of doing that.

  • My dream chapter would be:

    Little Nightmares.

New Map: The Maw: A massive ship where the gluttonous come to eat till they drop. Full to the brim of grotesuqe monsters and dangerous rooms. At the heart of this ship lies the Lady, a perfect choice for the entity. Repair generators in the many iconic rooms such as the Lair, The Janitor's room, the kitchen, the guest area and of course the residence.

New Killer: The Lady: Not much is known about her. She remains a mysterious figure haunted by her own hideous actions, forever hiding the face she is disgusted by, behind a mask. But beware for she is no ordinary lady. She shifts and hides within the shadows, the darkness her ally. She uses the darkness to create shadow children and can also move objects and turn children into tiny Nomes.

I left out a survivor because the protagonists of these games are children and I'm sure they won't be added for... obvious reasons.

So, if killers are OP, how come, that killers have instant lobbies while survivors have to wait 10 minutes in a queue?

Wouldn´t people prefer to play the OP role?

You'd think by now that people would pick up on that. I mean it is the biggest giveaway on how whack the balance is.

  • The day they add it back will be the day I start playing again. I'm tired of seeing rainbow ranks and unfair lobbies.

  • Mate, if they added this you'd have no eardrums left.

  • I thought it would be a hide and seek kind of game not a run around in circles like a headless chicken dropping things kind of game.

  • I made a post a while back about this. Looping is such a strange design choice of interacting with the killer. No other asymmetrical game I've played has "run around a small area in a circle, drop a pallet and run" as the only way of interacting with the killer. Closest I can think of is F13 running from cabin to cabin but even so, there was more ways of interacting with Jason.

I don't think looping is a bad design choice when it's mixed with stealth and other aspects but for the most part this game relies on it too much to the point that stealth becomes obsolete. Stealth should be better than it is now and there should be more ways of interacting with the killer. What those ways could be I'm not entirely sure. Maybe another objective that both killer and survivor can interact with? Either way I think looping is getting a bit stale.

  • It is very much possible. I remember Battlefield 1 had its own version which managed to come to consoles.

  • There are many problems with this. I will give you my take on this without being an asshat like some people tend to be. So, if your chasing a survivor for a while and you are struggling to get a hit or you get a hit but it takes too long then immediately break the chase and go to other gens. This is helped greatly by perks which I find absolutely ridiculous that a problem a lot of killers face is only partly solved by a bandaid solution which is just bad game design. That and not everyone has those perks seeing as they're locked behind a paywall and a massive grind.

In F13 game to complete your objectives you have to search the map for parts and I quite like that idea and perhaps it could be implemented to DBD in some way. Maybe there's certain chests that spawn that contain a generator part that once it's put in, will allow you to repair the generator. Honestly I think gens could do with a rework because it's lame for both sides. For killers they can go too fast without the right perks and for survivors it's just a boring loading bar minigame.

As a gay man. I don't care who is or isn't gay, I mean even if they were all straight that would be fine for me, it's not like character sexual preference matters me at all unless it's with a backstory. It's like the creator of Celeste came saying that the main character is trans, I am like. "So what?". Many companies are making money about how "inclusives" they are and not for the sake of diversity, like saying "look, the first character who is... X" and then people go bragging about it. Sexual preference doesn't matter in a game, except if it's a dating game or such but other than that a character sexual preference is not something relevant on a game.

I agree. It's nothing more than a box to tick. Most of the time it's a throwaway line that's completely irrelevant just to appease people. If they add an LGBTQ character then cool. If they don't then cool. Does it matter? Absolutely not because I'm sure most people spend their time on this game in matches and not on the lore pages.

Little nightmares was actually a great game, I really enjoyed it. I was expecting it to be another version of Little planet and I was pleasantly surprised.

It is really good. Can't wait for the second one coming next year.

Yeah I think I have agreed with you and that topic in another thread before :)

but I want The Lady as a killer with some sort of light/shadow and/or mirror based power and Six as a young adult but with the iconic yellow raincoat as survivor. Six could also come with some darker perks that resemble her ‚hunger‘

The Lady could definitely work. But I choose the other two because their grotesque appearance fits with DBD pretty well. I don't think we'd get Six though. I don't think it'd be worth the backlash to have a 9 year old getting brutally attacked and killed lol

  • I would love to see Little Nightmares make its way into the game. It will absolutely never happen. We have a higher chance of Jason than Little Nightmares. But it's fun to think about what it would be like if it somehow made its way into the game. There are a lot of things that would make it not work though such as that game's art style being a tad bit cartoony for DBD.

There wouldn't a survivor as the only characters that would fit that bill, are children and we can't have kids in DBD for obvious reasons.

The killer on the other hand...well there's quite a lot to choose from, each are very unique. There is The Janitor with his short stubby legs but incredibly long arms which could reach long distances. Then there is the twin chefs who could make for interesting gameplay, playing as two killers at once. These I feel would be the best choice.

The map could be The Maw, a massive vessel travelling underwater where guests come to eat their lives away. It would be an indoor map of course but there is a lot of rooms such as the children's bedroom, the Janitor's preparation room, the kitchen, the dining area and the residence area.

Like I said though, it will absolutely never happen. But if it ever somehow did, I reckon it would be an incredible DLC.

And stupidly hard to loose them. Who came up with this system? It's so backwards.

  • The blight one. Why play 1 legion when you can play all 4.

  • Just imagine playing as a survivor unsure of where the killer is with only one gen in your sight, you go to repair it then BAM! It turns into a killer haha that sounds fun.

Pro Tip: "People of color" dont like being referred to as People of Color; and technically, you're a color aren't you?

Now that I'm done busting your balls, I'll give my thoughts... The community at large are just emboldened because they are sitting behind a PC or Console safe at home; They dont have to face you and be held accountable for their behavior, so I'd take it with a grain of salt if I were you.

I am a very colourful person. I turn red when I'm angry, yellow when I'm sick, blue when I'm cold, and purple when I can't breathe. It's great!

  • I don't think it's that people don't want him in the game it's that he is impossible to add at the moment. Nothing new can come from the F13 franchise right now. And he can not be added into DBD as the rights to him are a hot mess. It's not just video game content that can't be done. It's literally everything from comics to movies to TV series to novels. I would love to see him. But it will not happen for a very, very long time.

From what I remember all killers will be a humanoid shape, so unfortunately as much as we all would like to see it, the killer will most likely have just 2 legs (but it’s bhvr they said in the past they wouldn’t add a clown killer)

Yeah of course. But it's fun to think about.

When it comes to the next killer, what do u hope it eventually is. From the options of a defensive, stealth, pressure, mobility, tracking and chase and them killers with a bit of everything like demo or Freddy. whats would u hope the killer to be more orientated towards. I personally hope it isn't a chase killer because they normally have a massive downside plus we have just had blight.

I really like the idea of a chase killer that has like 4 or 6 legs that can climb walls and ceilings in a spider like fashion. Sounds absolutely terrifying to go up against. Doubt we'd get something that cool though.

That's what I think as well. I've had many friends who used such vocabulary and didn't understand how hurtful it is. I don't hate anyone either, it's just very distressing to read such upsetting topics and see negative things like that. Wonderful analogy with the plague, it spreads and seems contagious at times. Thank you for being kind and civil, I really appreciate it <3

I try. But like everyone else even I reach a certain point where I flip. I suppose that's why I both hate and love this game in particular. It's a testament of people's frustrations. A trial of anger and calm. A push of people's spirit. It can be unhealthy though. So for those people that find themselves slandering other players or getting very frustrated with the game. Take a long break and look after yourself.

  • James Sunderland legendary Cheryl Mason Skin. Let James and Pyramid Head be reunited once again.

  • The problem is once the cycle of toxicity begins, it becomes borderline impossible to stop. Most of the time people are toxic because they themselves have been treated that way. It's like a plague that spreads.

It's impossible to help everyone not go down that path. The best thing you can do is stop yourself from going down that road and pray that just like toxicity, your positivity will spread. For some, it's easier just to give in than follow the hard path. For those people we don't react with toxicity. We move on and try to understand that there's a reason they are acting that way. Not excuse them for their behaviour, but just understand there's most likely a reason they're acting like an ass hat. And remember one thing, we've all most likely fallen down that rabbit hole before.

  • As long as they add a third person option for killer along with it I'd be down for it.

  • Twin killers you say? I might just know the perfect candidates...👀
