  • Or you know, instead of having a DC ban just throw anyone who DCs a certain amount of times into a separate matchmaking queue with other people that DC. Problem solved.

  • If you can't perform well without perks and have to heavily rely on them then yeah, they're crutches.

If you ran into me I can work around bamboozle. It could be a solid 3 gen chase

Careful, you're head might explode with all that bragging you're doing lmfao

Listen guys, maybe he really did get those perks from the shrine, but if he really is brown rank he probably doesn't know how to deal with them, he doesn't know how to split pressure, mind games etc... No need to be rude

It's the DBD community. Expecting them to not be rude is the equivalent of expecting a leprechaun sitting on a Pegasus to come crashing through your ceiling and granting you 3 wishes.

  • @Mekochi said:

You get put with sweat squads who are obviously either smurfs or they are green rank/close to green rank even though you are brown rank.

Tell me about it. Match after match I was put against red-green ranks when I was a measly rank 15 trying to learn a new killer. Really not fun.

I guess it is just because some bigger toxic streamers (no names) teached the community that it is great to make fun of others. All the small killer streamers I sneaked in so far are like that. Not necessarily mega crap talk, but "great dead hard, noob" and "on the hook, where you belong to" is pretty much standard. No creativity around

Eh it's probably just people roleplaying if they say the last one. I know I do it. I'll even up the B word to every sentence if I'm playing Freddy.

  • @megswifey said:

So last night, I was in a match and had no clue I was being streamed. I played normally and I thought I actually did pretty well, but after I died I saw they were a ttv killer and I usually check them for feedback. I go and see that this person is making fun of me while being chased and such, and I actually feel really bad about it. I don't know, I get that it's all in good fun, but sometimes seeing people commenting on how bad you are really gets in the way of how you play. Has anyone else had this happen? And is there any advice for a relatively new survivor (5-6 months)?

Don't let some toe sucker on the internet get under your skin. Just think to yourself "it's a game made to have fun. Who gives a ######### if I'm not sweating it out every match like some no lifer." If somebody says you're trash just laugh it off. Words are just words. They only have as much power as you enable them to have.

  • Gotta love how a thread that pokes fun at survivor mains gets hate but a thread that encourages tbagging killers gets more positive comments than negative. Gotta love the bias here.

as someone who played predator, thats not true at all. Predator in that game was so easy it just had a high skill floor. Back in the early days me and my friends ran kill squads to kill the predator every match, that was until they nerfed our class

Obviously you'd think predator was powerful if you were up against complete noobs. Anyone with half a brain cell can tell you predator was nothing more than a punching bag for the fireteam and still is. Get on that game's forums and you'll see I'm not lying. In fact play the game as fireteam use a loadout that isn't garbage and you'll be killing predators all night. It's a joke how easy it is. If you do all of this and then tell me predator is easy to play as then I'll know you're a compulsive liar.

Whelp I too am done with this game. My last game just cut the straw.

I'm trying to learn blight, and on console he is very clunky. I think any killer played on console is more difficult. Well I kept getting 360ed every single time by this Feng and the auto aim would swing me wrong and kept making me miss. This happened every time. I'm low rank on killer too because clearly I'm not the best. I get 4ks with doc and spirit but I really wanna play the new killer. Well this Feng just really aggravated me, plus she had a key, so I tunneled. I admit that. Well she kept 360ing me and camping powerful loops. It didn't help my fov was in the grass either. Well I finally get her and of course everyone on her team (I think they were swf) had borrowed time and of course she also had DS. They all ended up getting out and tbagged me as well. I knew I wasn't going to win, I just wanted the Feng. She was real toxic, tbagging pallets then would run to another loop and tbag. They all also were running really powerful perks too, a lot of crutch second chance perks. As a survivor main of four years, I don't even run those.

But anyway, that's not why I'm choosing to stop playing, it was after game where they all chose to message me and laugh at me, telling me how bad I was, how I sucked, how I deserved it, flooding my messages with laughing emojis. Btw I was rank 13, they were all rank 5s. It wasn't enough that they won, but to bully me and laugh at me when I'm already feeling down about losing. Im just sick of it. I'm sick of how toxic the dbd community is. I've delt with this for years and I'm just done. Its sad that not even the overwatch community is this toxic. Egos need to be checked. Tbh now, even as a survivor main, I dont care if they nerf survivors even more. I hope they do actually. Maybe it'll set some of those toxic ######### in place.

You want my advice? Turn off crossplay. I had it on and match after match I was put with toxic survivors that weren't even close to my rank so it was loss after loss by a landslide. As soon as I turned it off I was put in more balanced matches that felt like the survivors were around my skill level, they couldn't pull off stupid 360s because it's harder on console and surprisingly they were less toxic. No joke I had a couple matches of survivors trying to be friends with me as the killer lol. Matches will take longer to find but honestly it's worth waiting a bit longer for more enjoyable matches.

Oh and of course they'll still tbag at the exit gates there's no escaping that but just wait till the timer ends and they'll leave and you won't have to face them tbagging.

  • Yeah definitely not all of them but most sadly. I can't remember a match where a survivor didn't teabag at the exit gate.

  • @Carlosylu said:

I didn't camp nor tunnel, why the need of teabagging everything? This guy right here... I'll remember you... He was the best player of the team and he was the only one who didn't teabag or flashlight spam... You deserved that escape good sir...

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GpIRof_qRc8

Because they're survivor mains. Toxicity is all their good for.

  • I mean he's still got a point. Time is very important for killer. That example wastes more of the killers time.

  • @timbologna said:

I just got him but with his camera angle being so low it's hard to navigate, add his extremely stiff steering and incredibly delayed fatal rush lunge and it adds up to a horrible play time. Granted it's my first match with him but I found myself being hindered by his power more then I benefitted from it.

Because he's an idiotic drug addict that thinks bashing his head on walls gives him speed but all it gives him is brain damage.

  • @ringwinning said:

I know rank doesn't matter but it still annoys me to be back in the greens.

I see so many people praising this killer but in that same breath they only beat survivors who know how to do nothing but hold forward and die for free..I'm getting frustrated with every tile being " welp have no power, welp have no power..oh look he stepped two steps left? Damn chant turn..you wanna know what I think now?.. I think blight is being carried by the terror radious bug..giving him tons of free hits..because if a survivor isnt a doofus hes got such easy counterplay that he goes from fun to rage inducing...and I wanted to believe he had potential..but now I believe it less and less because the actual good survivor players are making him out as a joke

Pretty much. That tight angle is his Achilles' heel and I'm surprised not many people have realised that. Just a simple turn to the left or right and he's effectively useless. Even running up to him at an angle or when he's in his first rush is a massive kick in the sack.

I have not played Resident Evil, but I know Nemisis. His design is dope and I think it would be an awesome inclusion. What are your thoughts?

I'd personally like to see something from 7.

  • @TheShocktor said:

It's always funny to me to see these posts. The game is so survivor sided that if you're having trouble it says more about you than the killer. All survivors have to do is run a meta build and run to the over abundance of pallets and various other loops on the map over and over while the rest of the team rushes gens. I don't and never will feel sorry for any survivors. Killers do what they have to do and run whatever they have to run to try and counter the survivors bs then you see the survivors crying about it here. DBD has to be there only asymmetrical mp game where the "power role " is anything but. Probably not a popular opinion but nobody can change my mind and I can't change yours. So the cycle continues. Such is the dbd experience. If you wanna leave more power to you, but I'd bet my last dime you, just like the rest of us, will always crawl back. Maybe not today or tomorrow but you'll be back.

Trust me this isn't the only game. Predator hunting grounds makes this game's power role look like a god. I swear this is the case with most asym games. It's sad.

  • @pwncxkes said:

bro stop being so toxic, do something that can be countered. Geez killer mains

I wasn't being toxic lmfao. I let them do the gens and escape for booping the snoot. I was being a friendly killer.

  • @waffles4all said:

I keep putting off playing killer because its been non stop gen rushing at red rank but today l decided on playing and two games in l got gen rushed into oblivion. l downed a guy within the first minute of the game and than 10 seconds later l immediately find another guy, chase for 30 seconds and down him and l'm already at 1 gen left and forced to slug and camp after having a decent start to the game. They had two tool boxes and two prove thyself's... that's all they had and they got 4 gens in two minutes. l just want games to last longer and not have to slug and camp two minutes into the match because that's not fun for them or me.

Pretty much the same thing happened to me yesterday. It sucks when it happens.

  • @Kumnut768 said:

mmr was so much worse smh

It was. But that's because it was a poor attempt at the system. I'm hoping when it returns it's a lot better than what it once was and what we currently have.

  • @ToxicMyers said:

So i just played a myers game on haddonfield and got a really nice 3 gen (except prove thy self kinda ruined that) and i got A 2K and one of them had to message me and called me a baby killer lmao. I thought people actually say baby killer were an urban legend but i guess not

They have an anime avatar they lost before they even began.

  • @BigTimeGamer said:

did you play when MMR was on? Every game was a rainbow of ranks

I think I played a little bit. Can't quite remember. I know it was completely messed up when we got it but if this new MMR is much better than what we have now even if it means I'm put with rainbow ranks then I'm all for it. I just want to be put in matches with people around my skill level. Including slightly above and below. I only bring up ranks because that's the all we have as a skill indicator.

Who knows, though I seriously doubt it will work as intended. Measuring skill in this game is next to impossible without revealing what the system is recording and tracking. I have basically been watching from the sidelines since pyramid head. Game burned me out and I had real life ######### to worry about instead of stressing over something that's suppose to be fun. when cross progression happens I might come back in a serious way but till then I'm playing less stressful stuff.

Wait for real? Is cross progression confirmed? If so when is that coming cause I can't wait for that. Would it include mobile too?

  • @deadbybums said:

This was probably a SWF. Nothing in the world is going to change people from doing this. I am currently a rank 3 but play with brown and green ranks when I offer to help newer members of the community learn to play.

Yeah from the way they played it did seem like that. A rank 3 killer going up against brown and green ranks? I feel sorry for them if that happens but the killer they're up against isn't as merciful as you are lol.

  • @SweetTerror said:

You're not wrong, matchmaking is a s*** show right now until the MMR is back on, but you did manage to get two kills so I wouldn't necessarily count it as a loss but more of a tie.

What I find a little frustrating is that the devs keep saying the MMR is coming back "soon", so for all we know that could mean two days, two weeks, two months, who knows? I've never played with Ghostface before and I really want to give him a shot, but at the rank I'm at I would be facing off against purple and red ranked survivors on a killer that I'm brand new to. And as you can attest to, that's not something I care to do.

Yeah best part was one of them died to the trap lol. Honestly even if I don't get a single kill but have fun I consider that a personal win. It just sucks being placed in matches with people I shouldn't be with whether that be higher or lower ranks than me. Especially if it happens quite a lot. Just sad to see.

  • @MongolPSR said:

This is what their mmr system did in the first place. According to the devs, rank is not a good barometer of skill, just the amount of time people can put in.

when they put their system back in place the rainbow ranks will happen consistently.

    ;)

True. I just hope they've fixed and improved it. Guess we'll just have to see.

  • @The_Krapper said:

Seriously isnt it long past due that we get a training mode in the main version of the game? I know it's a thought for the devs but not currently being worked on, imagine how many players would stick to the game instead of drop it when first starting if they had somewhere to practice until they felt good enough or if someone just wanted to try out a killer it would be phenomenal to have that option available and improve the overall health of the game by newer players having somewhere to learn the ropes without being crushed and taunted in the post game chat

Please, please, please I will beg for this for as long as it takes. This is the reason I made an account for this forum. I would absolutely love to see training mode come to main game with new features like modifiers. Please Devs, please add this. We need to start giving this more attention.

  • @Kebek said:

It's such a pity that feature as wanted as that isn't even decided if it should be implemented yet. I wish main game team would ask DBD mobile team to help them add it asap. So incredibly sad imao.

Did I miss something? Where did they say this? God I hope that isn't true. I badly want to see it in main game but if they said that then that's just sucks.

"The simple concept of how DbD is designed to be impossible to balance !"

Remove all perks from the game and you will get a balanced DBD.๐Ÿค”

You know....that could actually work. But the game wouldn't be as fun so it's a matter of taking away fun for more balance. Tricky one.

  • @MeltingPenguins said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1610718#Comment_1610718

I was maybe simplyfying things yeah, but what baffles me is that, basically people are saying that f13 is 'superior' because it has stuff that whenever someone suggests something equal/similar for dbd the same people come in and cry havoc for 'how that isn't dbd/how it won't fit with lore' etc.

i'm just baffled at the... hypocrisy?

I can see where they're coming from. These are very different games that play out very differently. So what could work in one game might not necessarily work in another. Like being able to kill the killer or something. It works pretty well on F13. But would it really work on DBD? Maybe that's what they have in mind.

  • @tactic said:

    ...F13 is still alive?

Surprisingly yes. It's still going strong for a game that's not getting anymore updates. Quite a lot of people stream it on twitch too. Obviously nowhere near as much as DBD but a pretty good number for a "dead" game.

  • @MeltingPenguins said:

    ...I'm sitting here wondering

Ok... so, you have one killer without much variety in gameplay, and playing counsellor means you pick one objective and go about it with a set MO, and you technically have the most toxic DbD perks be overpowered basekit (so to speak).

I wonder why the same people that make posts about how 'X is has counter if I play my standard MO' are the people making/applauding those posts.... mhnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn

A lot of this isn't exactly true. While most of the Jason's have the same functions they're play style is very, very different. You can't do what you can with part 2 as you could with part 4. Part 2 is very tactical, setting up traps, ambushing counselors etc while part 4 you've only got 3 traps so setting up traps is out of the question and he's playstyle is an all out aggressive beast, pressuring counselors with his high destruction breaking doors in 3 hits.

Your point about counselors isn't exactly true either. You can very much swap objectives in the fly. But your approach to them is different to what counselor you pick. And there's nothing wrong with that. It's just more variety that compliments different playstyles. Want to play stealthily and as a lone wolf? Pick AJ. Want to be fast at repairing cars, boats and fuse boxes? Pick Deborah. Want to distract Jason and help your team? Pick Adam and get Jason to waste time on you, running him around the map.

The counselor exclusive perks definitely didn't make them overpowered. They had drawbacks too. AJ wasn't a strong fighter like Adam and couldn't fix stuff as fast Deborah. Deborah wasn't as strong as Adam and stealthy as AJ. And Adam wasn't as stealthy as AJ or fast at repairing like Deborah. See what I'm getting at here?

  • @GoodLookinCookin said:

Kinda wish dbd pushed for more fun and less strategy, the game has found success with what it has because the idea of the game is amazing, but the execution is off.

I play SWF a ton but we play to chill out and have fun but often just get frustrated because everyone is sweat and using meta perks.

Wish there was some kind of a casual mode where rank isn't affected and you can just play for fun, but then the sweats will go to casual to stomp the people that just want to chill.

This game forces you to tryhard and use meta perks and it does not feel fun...and dont even get me started on the new player experience

There's a mode that's basically this on mobile but you're up against bots. It's a fun way to practice and play more casually while still earnings rewards at a reduced rate. It really should come to main game some day.

  • @TheClownIsKing said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1608964#Comment_1608964

Blight is the best example yet of how much this game desperately needs a practice mode with bots for target practice.

Yes, yes and yes. Mobile has it so there's not much of a reason main game can't have it.

  • @ProfessorDunwich said:

What was BHVR thinking? If you are an elite Killer like some of the streamers with incredible map knowledge, I see how he might be okay. But for the average Killer, he is is ridiculously difficult to play. I don't know if the devs have noticed, but there is a major shortage of Killers. My queue for survivor is 2-4 minutes on a good day and my killer queues are instant, that is with cross-play. Glad I only used shards on this debacle of a Killer.

Really that's how your queues are? Feels the complete opposite for me.

  • @MeltingPenguins said:

I know a good number of people think of classic slasher movies when they think about what maps should be in dbd, but hear me out:

A giant, abandoned manor, by the cliffs over a silent dark lake, the forest bordering its walls, fading into an overgrown garden full of deadly plants. The broken glass of the conservatory giving access into corridors where wails and footsteps echo and doors seem to go to no same place twice.

Up above is an abandoned observatory and roost, unsettling, unnatural caws and screeches echoing through a sky full of wrong stars.

Down below is an old cellar, half flooded with oily stinking water the ripples in ways not caused by the chill draft blowing through the narrow passages.

The library seems too large to belong into the building and the ballroom's floor appears to have seen many a dancer dance their feet off (and keep going still)

    Thoughts?

Would the survivor be Luigi and the killer King Boo? I'd pay double for that.

  • @herrik666 said:

This would be SO helpful for both killer and survivor. There's a lot of things that the only way to get better at is to practice and a lot of the times you don't have the opportunity to do it in a public match.

Exactly! It'll definitely help people get better at certain situations and adept to certain perks if they can tweak how the match plays out too.

  • I would also like to add that it would be cool to see an addition to the mode that lets us tweak it. So we can get modifiers like difficulty selector, how many survivors, what perks the survivors and killer is using, the map, choose what survivors there are, choose what killer there is etc.

  • This is why I think it would be good to port training mode from mobile onto main game. Practice a new killer and perks there without getting put with toxic players that ruin the fun.
