Nah it's obviously the leprechaun from leprechaun origins
-
My favourite chapter would be Silent Hill. The fact that I can play as Pyramid Head is great. He's such a disturbing killer.
As for a future killer I'd like to see it would definitely be one from Little Nightmares. I know it will most likely never happen but hey, it's fun to think about. We could either get the Janitor or the Chefs as I think they would be the most interesting to choose from as they're very grotesque in appearance much like the original designed killers in DBD.
That's what they look like for those that don't know.
-
I think it's my Grandma after she forgot the milk for the cookies.
-
It's Darth Vader
-
Watch it be Stripe from Gremlins or something
-
Oh geez it's not Stripe from Gremlins is it?
-
I completely agree. The whole looping thing is just really weird design choice. I've played a fair few asymmetrical multiplayer games and none have had such a weird design of interacting with the killer. Closest I can think of is F13 running from cabin to cabin but even then that wasn't as odd as this game's.
I remember watching the old trailers and thinking the game was going to be like a life or death hide and seek like you said. Which is certainly what they alluded too. But really it's just run in a small area, drop a pallet on your head, move to the next one, repeat. It's not a terrible design choice but it's definitely a strange one.
I wish the game was more like the original trailers with a hide and seek design to it mixed with the looping because just looping is very boring. I find it more exciting finding my prey when they're hiding. And hiding from my pursuer, sweating my pants off hoping they don't figure out I'm in the locker right next to them. Feels a lot more tense that way imo.

Someone clearly doesn't know that seeing certain things can make someone uncomfortable
News flash: The Horror genre is supposed to make people uncomfortable and disturbed otherwise it wouldn't be horror. Nobody wants rainbows and sunshine in their horror games, movies etc.

all chapters and midchapters are named after countries in the files.. for example onis chapter is sweden and freddys chapter is england.. the countries have nothing to do with the chapter.. its just a placeholder name while they are making it
Guess I'll have to look out and see if it does it for the others

Hi, not sure where the rights currently sit with Pinhead, but just seen today that CLIVE BARKER is onboard with HBO's Hellraiser TV show. Personally very excited, as Barker is a genius, but this has got to be a massive boost for the prospect of The Cenobites making their way to Dead by Daylight sooner rather than later!!! EXCITED MUCHLY!!!
I hope for 2 things.
1:The show isn't garbage like most of the films.
2: We get Pinhead in DBD.

There is counterplay against Deathslinger. You can't dodge a shot directly but you can move in such a way as to maximize the chance that the Deathslinger will miss their shot. Someone who moves tactically is less likely to be hit than someone who doesn't. Just because you can't 100% dodge something doesn't mean there's no counterplay.
That and the whole point is to break the chain. Why does everybody forget about breaking the chain? Lol

did the game you come from happen to be called white noise? i swear it is impossible to win as the monster unless the players suck and don't know the objective spawns.
No the game I was referring to is Predator Hunting Grounds. The surviving sde on there is ridiculously easy at the moment. Just one guy can second wind a predator on there under the right circumstances. (second wind is kind of like borrowed time but for the killer side) and if that's on cooldown then the Predator just gets downed instead which at that point it's dead. It'll win most 1v1s but it struggles if the Fireteam is any decent and can lose it if they're not careful enough. 4v1 against a decent Fireteam and you might as well go AFK.
-
Is he on the hit list right after Deathslinger?
-
I made this account for that very reason. I hope I get to see it in main game one day.
-
@HollowsGrief said:
Slinger is fine, he doesn't even do that well vs good teams.
Sadly it seems people want to balance him so he's even in 1v1s all while ignoring the fact that this is a 4v1 game. I play another asymmetrical game that tries to balance the game as if it's a 1v1 and coming from that I'll tell you it doesn't work. So I ask people to remember that killers are supposed to have the upper hand in 1v1 situations. All I'll say at this point is if people want to make him feel more "fair" in 1v1s then give him something to help with the 4v1 aspect. Right now he's only good in chase. So if you want to weaken the only thing he's good at then at the very least give him something for pressure or mobility so he can better handle the 4v1 aspect of this game.

My personal goal is getting as much bp as possible while also trying to get all the survivors above 10000 bp.
Game has become way more fun both for me and the players i play against since i saw it like that.
This does ofcourse mean I will most likely get stomped by a swf death squad but those don't happen enough for me to be concerned about
That's pretty much what I've been doing at this point. Though I will say, I have a newfound appreciation for Tier 1 evil within Myers. I will lose every game but it's incredibly fun getting the jump on people without them expecting it.

I'd love if DC penalties weren't needed, sadly it doesn't seem like this is the case.
The problem is, people DC for various things - get downed early in a match = DC, playing against a killer you don't like = DC, playing against a perk you don't like = DC, getting a hex totem broken early in the match = DC....I've seen all these things happen in game. And sadly, it just ruins the game for the other players.
I do believe when you're playing an online game and you ready up in that lobby, then you've committed yourself to play that match, regardless of whether you end up on a map you don't like or any of the reasons given above, that's the whole nature of the game - for both sides.
Yes it sucks if you have bad internet and then get DC penalties for it, but also on the other side of the coin - should other people's games be ruined because of your bad internet? I don't think they should be.
As the DC penalties start at a really low time, this takes into account the time for IRL emergencies which is what the Leave Match button is there for, not for leaving because you are losing in a game. It's a PvP game at the end of the day, spoiling the game for everyone else who's playing really isn't on.
This is why we need bots that replace people just like on mobile. Sure they might not be as good as a real player can be but surely that's better than having the whole match thrown just because someone decided to leave. At least you can still play the same match and earn points from it so it's not a complete waste of time.

Yeah, I stopped worrying about my killer rank a long time ago, and adopted the philosophy of, "I get however many kills I get." I try to get at least one hook on each of them for BBQ stacks and fat BP payouts, but after that?
I could care if they all get away or not. As long as everybody has fun.
Yeah BBQ seems like it would actually help making matches a bit less stressful knowing you'll get some extra juicy bloodpoints at the end anyway. I'm working on getting it as a teachable at the moment.

People have speculated that there are only two members of the balance team. If so it might be beneficial to increase this number. Many people complain that the killers are too weak, or too strong. SWF are overpowered, solos are under-powered not to mention balance between killers themselves, perks and addons.
If you could choose to add a person to the balance team, either one who is neutral or one that has a slight bias (to counter any perceived current imbalance), a content creator, a forum member or even yourself, who would you add and why?
Myself so I can make both sides overpowered.
-
So basically OP is upset that he didn't get outplayed...he got outperked. And fair enough because that's straight BS. Not exactly fun having an experienced player struggle not because the opponents are good but because they brought powerful perks. Dare I say this game needs a perk overhaul? After all they're supposed to be accents to playstyles but in this game one could argue they do a bit too much.
-
The one I want the most would definitely be Pinhead. I'd be happy with one of the other 3 cenobites though like butterball, chatterer and female. Maybe all 4 could be introduced in some way. Maybe like the legion. Call it the order of gash.
Krampus would make for a fantastic Christmas themed killer. I'd love to see the design from that 2015 movie because that's my personal favourite design of the Christmas devil.
I see some mentions of Dracula but not of the best depiction of him. Count Orlok from Nosferatu would make an excellent addition to the game. He'd be the best vampire to choose imo.
Candyman I think is a bit of an obvious one.
Springtrap I think could make for some fun and interesting gameplay. Say what you will about the franchise but you can't deny that he would be fun to play and a unique addition.
"IT" would be a real treat to see. ITs gameplay would be a ton of fun I'd reckon.

Not really, good predators can easily beat 4 mans, herr are some tips
Learn reinforcement spawn location and trap it,
Use ranged weapons instead of melee
Always stay on the move so they can't light you up
Stayed cloaked
Use your target identification at the start of the match to find people
I can go on and on but predator is pretty balanced at the moment, you just can't pick berserker+ combistick and expect to win
You really don't play that game much do you. Most people that have played the game extensively will tell you the game is fireteam sided and there's next to nothing a predator can do. Best they can do is bunny hop with the bow. Nothing else or else they'll die in mere seconds. But this isn't what this topic is about so I won't go deep into that conversation. So I'll leave you with this. Go play a handful of matches as predator against a fireteam that aren't noobs then you'll see how broken it is.

You really don't play that game much do you. With the right loadout a single person can kill predator in 3 seconds flat. That's not balanced. Most people that have played the game extensively will tell you it is far from balanced. But that's not what this topic is about so I'm not going deep into this conversation. So I'll leave you with this. Play a match as predator against a FT that aren't complete noobs. Then come back and tell me it's balanced when you get your mask 3 shotted off and hunted down by the fireteam.

So you as re telling me even if the killer is being outplayed. Even if the killer is losing mindgames they should still win a chase? Im not saying the survivor should win the chase easily, but if the killer is losing the chase why do they deserve the anyways?
Yes that is obvious you want to buy as much time as possible. Nobody said that we want to loop and never be hit or win chases guarenteed. I also never said I want 5 gen chases all the time I do want though is a fair chance to extend my chases through skillful decisions but some killers (slinger) ignore that.
Yes. In fact that's basically how it is now. Bad killers can still eventually win the chase even though it might take them the entire match. And that's how it should be. Even bad killers should at the very least average one kill a match as to not be discouraged. And that's how powerful a killer should be. Beatable as a team, difficult to beat solo. You have to remember it's about buying your team time. If you make it so survivors can win chases then you've made killers significantly weaker. Chases for survivors are about lasting as long as possible, not winning them. Otherwise killer would definitely not be a power role if it can be beaten in a 1v1. The 4 is supposed to be equal to the 1.

In one year what state would you see this game in.
I am curious since it's like a competitive horror game but wonder will it achieve maximum Terror.
What do you think will be added and who will be added.
I love this game but wonder if there will be more stuff in the game besides doing gens, totems, hooking, or hunting survivors in the far future.
Like maybe for each different killer the survivors will have to find items to do a ritual and banished from the game. Each killer will have a different win and lose cutscene. Anytime the ritual is done wrong either by wrong items or wrong order the Killer will become more enraged causing more pressure.
[When I mean banished I mean game over for killer and the match ends]
Survival which is the Survivors have to survive not escape by rebuilding the safe house until The Entity says its game over. They have to be careful since the killer can find ways to lure them out or get in the house but survivors can use items around the house to defend them selves until the match is done or lure it out of the house for even fighting ground but now the killer can get in and out of the house so the safe place now is in the forest.
Past Memories of a Killer.
Play as a killer and relearn their awful past by hunting the victims that fell to the killer in the past. This will be more of a Story Mode because why not and the Victims are bots since they will be killed no matter what but will not be easy.
What do you think will be added or changed in a year?
I'm still holding out hope for training mode to come to main game. The fact that the Devs said they're not even working on it is very sad. Hopefully that changes soon.

Ohtofus killer is significantly better than his survivor for the record so hes taking the w. The point is with that mindset that you dont want survivors to be able to outplay killers in 1v1 encourages swf I'm just saying.
If 4v1 type killers become common swf will much more because you know lack of real 1v1 counter.
Yeah that's kinda the point mate. You're supposed to always lose the 1v1. Killer is the power role. If you try to balance a 4v1 game around a 1v1 then you completely screw up the balance and the survivor becomes the power role. Predator hunting grounds has done this exact thing and it's a ######### mess.
When engaged in a 1v1 your goal is to buy your team as much time as possible. Not get out unscathed and constantly beat killers in 1v1. Sounds to me like you want 1 person to be able to loop the killer the whole match.

Jason Voorhees, Friday The 13th.
Mister Babadook, The Babadook
Samara Morgan, The ring

If you think any other killers would work in the game just list them down below <3
I doubt we'll ever see alien in this game. Much better chance of alien being in predator hunting grounds.
Jason definitely will not be happening anytime soon.
Personally I'd love to see more of the classic horror characters like candyman, pinhead etc. Hell, why not add in more obscure ones like pumpkinhead, alien clown from killer klowns from outer space, Sam from Trick r treat, Krampus etc.
I also wouldn't mind seeing more video game characters too. Springtrap I feel could include some fun mechanics. Definitely something from resident evil, I wouldn't mind seeing one of the bakers or Eveline from 7 I think they fit with the vibe of this game more but obviously they're not as iconic as Mr. X or Nemesis.

Like i said, i keep playing killer but its mostly ruined because of massive SWF groups, they treat me like a joke and gen-rush me, it makes playing killer unfun sometimes and i feel we should be given the choice to play with SWF groups or not.
I have Aspergers and losing so badly to SWFs groups makes me feel very victimized.
There are times when i win, i don't always lose, but SWFs groups making fun of me still gets to me a bit.
Please, give people the option to cancel out SWF groups or do something to identify who is SWFs in the lobby or not.
Since SWF is in essence, a buff to survivors I think it's only logical to implement a system that boosts the killer's stats per person. 2 SWFs=2% speed boost, 5% gen regression per kick etc. 3 SWFs=4% speed boost, 10% gen regression per kick etc. 4 SWFs=6% speed boost, 15% gen regression perk kick etc.

A crutch perk is a perk that carries you to a win you wouldn't have gotten otherwise. Yes I understand that is the whole point of perks. To give you an advantage at winning BUT some perks do way too good a job at doing that. I get why survivors would want to run these perks because I mean why wouldn't you? You would only be gimping yourself by not running them.
However it's very unfun to feel like you got outperked. You're playing Nurse on a map like Lerys and a survivor is constantly breaking LOS so you make a great prediction blink and land right on them put nope dead hard. That great read you made didn't mean anything. I get that you can bait it out but that's not possible in every scenario and that goes for every killer.
You're playing against a good swf that is focused on gens and you know that you won't be able to 3 hook everyone without using any "scummy" tactics. Well tough luck they have unbreakable to counter slugging, Ds and bt counter tunneling (and then some), and dead hard to fix any mistake they make or negate any good play on the killers part in chase.
That's why these perks are disliked so strongly. They carry bad players and they make teams of good players harder to play against more than they need to be. Most of the killer meta perks reward you for making good plays, have strong effects that only last a small portion of the match, or have small effects that last throughout the match. You also have to take into account that it's 4 killer perks agaisnt 16 survivor perks so naturally killer perks should be stronger. That being said you're still entitled to run whatever you want.
Pretty much this. Perks are supposed to be accents to certain play styles. But some in this game are very powerful to the point it's like a new ability. But herein lies the problem. Perks are a massive part of this game. They're fun to use and add a lot of replayibility because of how strong they can be. And this is needed in a game with only one mode and very few objectives. They have to find that sweet spot of tuning a perk so it's still fun but balanced. Otherwise you risk taking away such an important factor of the game. Something that keeps you playing. It's a difficult situation.
