I usually try to avoid the usual camping, tunneling and slugging.
Slow turning is also a treat whenever I get the chance to, pesky lil things thinkin their sneaky :)
And finally, when a Survivor or I make a screw up and we just have a lil stare down before going on our merry way

These kids just don't know 😂
If you haven't already, play the game under the influence
I use Outplayed to keep clips of my "highlights" and just record the entire session in general, and my god I might as well just be a different person
I become a complete noob at Trapper, but a member of Faze when playing Slinger on God
Highly recommend 😅

I think it has to do with escaping against that killer, but idk

I mean I think having multiple games you cycle through is a necessity if you don't want to burn out. Throughout the years I've had at least 2 other games (outside of party games with friends) I can play so that if I don't feel like playing DbD I have other options
That being said my other 2 options (Apex, For Honor) have absolutely gone to ######### so I'm kinda in a pickle

Dramaturgy if used correctly is like OG Dead Hard and Finesse allows you to greed a loop even more.
Been saying this from the start, Dramaturgy is slept on, HARD.

You can't honestly tell me Huntress and Deathslinger would be better then Unknown if he was 110%… Like I flat out refuse to believe someone could believe that
He would be though?
His lethality is no where near as good as those 2 and it should be that way considering he does have that teleport, and even then that teleport has its downsides compared to other killers.
For his ranged attack he doesnt only need to hit you twice for 1 health state, but he needs to hit you a 2nd time within a certain time frame so the Survivor doesnt get rid of Weakened, meaning he needs to hit them again to apply it and shoot again to attempt to damage.
-
I still think making a ranked and unranked queue would some what solve this issue.
More casual players would just stay in quickplay, and before you say anything yes, Im aware that there would be some people who just play casual and still try hard, but this is the case for every single competitive title out there and its not a major issue.
Ranked it self could have a bit longer queue times to make sure everyone is similar in rank. I know this may seem like the game would be made more competitive with this, but if I'm being honest the game has already reached that point. Might as well just give the more competitive players a place to really test their skills. -

By design, that makes him a weaker killer by default. The worst part of original freddy was that first he had to find survivors, and then pull them into the dream world, which took 7 seconds, giving survivors plenty of time to make it to a loop, all while being able to see freddy during this time as he pops in and out of sight. Having to wait 7 seconds just to interact with survivors is downright painful, no matter how lore accurate it is
Im sayin that I hope thats a change they make, and then moee on top of that as well
Ill take something fun and unique any day of the week instead of strong and boring.

If you are not talking about a ptb version, which I don’t know wether it changed from ptb to live, then it said: The damaged Generator regresses at 150/175/200 % of the normal Regression speed. This means it is 100% basekit regression + 100% call of brine regression.
Talking about the 6.1.0 PTB

Thanks for the explaination, but wouldn’t it be 1.25 c/s (500%) regression?
100% (basekit) + 100% (call of brine) + 300% (overcharge) = 500%
Edit: Sorry wrote 400% for overcharge, I meant 300%.
CoB increased regression by 200%, Overcharge was 400%
400% + 200% = 600%

I found out that the wiki information about overcharge is wrong. It says 200 % for its old version instead of 400%. Now everything makes sense.
It isnt wrong, its just it usually doesnt list changes from PTB to live. 400% Overcharge was only on PTB (thank god)
-
I dont recall anyone ever saying it was 500-600%..?
Maybe it was PTB..? Overcharge could go up to 400% (i think), and then CoB was 200%, but I shelved that meta at the back of my mind because ######### gen kick meta

All Im hoping is that he can only hurt asleep Survivors and that he has a way to pull Survivors into the Dream.

They didn't do enough in my opinion. They should have made him base 98% movement speed for starters. His power, if missed, should be a 5 minute recharge. They also should have removed his ability to steer while dashing, requiring it to be in a straight line. In addition, his movement speed while dashing should be hard capped to 100% movement speed, and it should only last 2 seconds. His footstep decoy mechanic should also be removed, and his undetectable mechanic should also be removed. To offset these balancing tweaks to bring him down to an acceptable level, he should be given better chase music.
the lore reason as to why he's so close is not because he's a small doll, but because some one knee capped his ass

Why though?
I very much enjoyed the griddy esthetics and found it very fitting to the games overall atmosphere.
The bright coldwind feels like a weekend trip to your grandparents. Tbf, that can be horror for some I guess.
Imo the new coldwind works better than the old one since you could tell they were trying to go for that sort of Texas Chainsaw feel with the nastiness of everything, and I absolutely love it.
All the guts and blood everywhere... you can almost smell that through the screen with how well they portray the horror that went on inside those buildings.
I know its an unpopular opinion, but the Coldwind maps are the best maps aesthetically.
-
I remember having all my progress reset.. then getting 15,640,000 in compensation.
Now that may seem like a lot... but this was back in 2017, meaning it wasnt just the old bloodweb
it was the bloodweb that you needed to "click to continue" everytime you got a node (each node took like 2-3 seconds) and bloodweb prices were ridiculous back then. It wasnt based on rarity, but rather what ring it was in the web. First ring was 3000, 2nd was 5000, and 3rd was 8000. So in the same bloodweb you could spend 3k on a New Moon Bouquet, and 8k on a poopy brown medkit

Awww and a very Merry Christmas to you too, and to all my kings and queens out there :)

So then he's only 32m in tier 3? I don't recall the old description saying it was slightly reduced in tier 2. I thought it was only slightly reduced in tier 2 if he was stalking. Either way, I've been playing against him for years and never had him that close with no TR unless he was in Tier 1.

Survivor probably just teammates that are clearly just not doing what their supposed to. Like doing chests or totems are fine, but when you can clearly see on your HUD that some one is on hook, some one else is being chased, and then the other is on a gen, I dont think that totem or chest should be a priority
As killer, probably losing due to REALLLLYYYYYY bad RNG. Like playing Trapper without good add ons on Eyrie while theres a burrito with crystal bead in play and my cat wont leave me alone despite me literally petting him for the past hour and my grand father rushing me aince he wants me to go on a 5 hour side quest.

Slugging and having to face killers I absolutely despise.
I would rather face longer queues than have to face a single Twins, Trickster, Knight or SM and it is frustrating as I am expected to endure matches I don't want to play.
I am sure killers don't want to play against SWF's and I also think it should be clear when you are facing a SWF or not.
So with you on that survivor one

I mean in all honesty.. what difference does it make?
Whether you know them as Dwight Fairfield 01 or poopypee123 you can still report them the same, and blocking them doesn't prevent you from matching against them again anyway.

A cheater once left comments on my steam profile even though I had anon mode on. So the anon mode is only helpful against honest player.
Personally, I'm playing without anon mode, as I only play soloQ. I want my team members to be able to judge whether I fit their skill level based on my steam profile. However, I'm not a streamer and am not really a worthwhile target for harassment.
I think the anon mode leads to more lobby shopping than necessary because players lack the ability to assess other players.
I could be wrong but you can check previous players that you played with on steam, its no 3rd party software its directly built into it
I remember using this WAY back in the day when it was still p2p, so I have no idea if it still works

I am beyond myself with gratitude. 💐💐💐
Sincerely, I love horror. I love this game. And I love this community. I’ve always found a home in the horror genre- I’m sure many of us can relate. For one reason or another we are all here enjoying this game together.
@TheSingularity (pre and post 😊)
@CountOfTheFog 😊😄💐
@Shroompy 😊😄💐
+ Everyone else I didn’t list!!! 💐💐💐
I’m a huge fan of being the change you want to see. The above people have demonstrated a willingness to be that change while remaining their authentic selves. I see Dbd reflected in every single person listed and on this forum. These people will give you the best that they have to offer. Why not match that passion and be the change you want the dbd community to become? Why not? It can happen. They can help you get there.
I wanted to thank @For_The_People for being the first person from the forums that I’ve ever played Dbd with. He is a very sweet person who will give you his time of day in earnest if you need him to. He’s one of the prime examples of politeness in this community. Thank you for being a positive force in the community. 😊😊😊
Lastly I need to thank @solarjin1 . What can I say? When you meet a friend that gets you, you both just know it. Her courage to be funny and humorous are so infectious. She told me that the small pallet in rpd was the most op pallet. I was so naive of game knowledge that I believed her! LMAO! After that I realized that it was anything goes when it came to humor with her. I’m at my best when I can be silly. Solarjin1 is that friend who brings out the best in me. Thank you Solarjin1 for all the laughs and for the laughs to come 😂 I’m going to be collecting🤣🤣🤣
None of this would be possible if we didn’t have a phenomenal community team here to support us discussing this twisted hobby we all have. Thank you again to everyone at Bhvr for putting your hearts and souls (ha!) into everything that is Dbd.
They say you attract more flies with honey than with vinegar…
Let’s just use blood instead 🩸😈🩸
Happy Holidays everyone, I hope everyone stays safe and has a wonderful New Years 😊🎉
Aww thank you :)
And yknow I see that you mention you SWF with For_The_People and solarjin1 here and I cant help but notice that there could be 1 more person in that lobby… 👀 -

'Change my mind' is generally shorthand for 'I feel like arguing for the sake of arguing'.
The problem is that there is an impasse at present. Survivors can do some really gross things on losing games to stall it out forever. The only way to 100% stop a duo who wants to play hide and seek for 20 minutes to be BM, or to try and force the killer to DC is to slug camp. It would be wonderful if it wasn't needed.
On the other hand, anti-slug perks are pretty universally bad. You've got a one use recovery, you've got a situational boon and I think that's about it.
Perks should not be a bandaid for problems like this.
Slugging is on the radar but it's a hard problem to fix. I wish hide and seek was, even if it's only fixing the idiotic number of ways you can bypass AFK crows.
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3859131#Comment_3859131
DH is not an anti-tunnel perk though. It's just an exhaustion tool, like Lithe.
Honestly, the only universally effective anti tunnel perk is your teammates spreading hook states.
Maps from 2019…no. Just no. Actual infinites, at least one or two spots on each map where survivors could glitch into doodads or terrain to be unhittable or impossible to pick up.
Infinites were removed LONG before 2019. Only exceptions maybe being Haddonfield houses with BL, but apart from that they were long gone by then.
-
The only way the game is more toxic nowadays, is the amount of people who love being a victim and making it a much bigger problem than it really is.
Some one pressing CTRL 3 times in a row after a pallet drop, or a killer tenderizing you on hook doesnt mean they are a nuclear waste plant dumping on you, it is purely in game taunting.

Yeah, the gen thing is something I think is likely to happen. It is something people have been requesting for quite a while.
However, it isn't enough. Even if add-on changes I don't think things will be fixed if we don't move away from his post-rework power.
One thing tho I would not be opposed to, is if they combined both powers together
If you had to pull some one into the dream, and then Survivors would be affected by Snares, Pallets, Aura Reveal and maybe a slight repair penalty? I think thatd be even better than just reverting him tbh

A rework is what Freddy should be getting, but since its just update Im gonna assume all he's gonna get is:
-The ability to swap between pallets and snares in the middle of a game
-The ability to teleport to finished gens
-Number and add on changes
If that is all we get I might consider dropping him. I'm… tired, of playing with the failure of 3.1.0, I really am.
I wouldnt blame you, and I really hope I am wrong with this. How ever Im almost 100% certain theyre at least doing the gen thing since Houndmaster has the ability to send Snug to a finished gen, meaning the functionality is there
-
A killer receiving add on changes is more a tweak
An update is moreso Unknown, Knight, or Larry where they play basically the same but have several QoL changes

I could also see them inversing the Lullaby and TR since Survivors should be spending most of the game asleep anyway, so being able to make him more of a threat while asleep to synergize better with TR perks is something thatd be neat
-
Undetectable perks do in fact work on Trickster as his Lullaby is at his loudest within 20-30m from him and fades away as he gets closer, (also further) eventually becoming completely quiet at 8m.

NO WAY!?? HE LOST THRILL IN ONLY A MINUTE!??! 😱😱😱😱
CONCLUSIVE EVIDENCE THAT THRILL IS NOW DOG TIER 🐕🐕

Id prefer it stay a Scourge Hook since some times its better to save a stack for later, rather than just dump them all at the beginning on gens that are at like 10%
-
@danielmaster87 said:
The whole scourge hook mechanic is just bad design. Ideally, it's made the way it is so that the killer has to go to 1 specific hook, as opposed to another one which might be better positioned in case he wants to come back. But being limited to only 4 and having their spawns be random instead of equally spaced means that the killer straight-up doesn't get to use their perk some matches, which can literally cost them the game.
And people are calling that good design: "Sometimes, the killer shouldn't get to use their perk that they equipped. Otherwise, it's mindless/skilless." But imagine that applied to a survivor perk. Imagine, because of some random RNG thing, you should have been able to use DS or Dead Hard because you met the conditions, but got locked out from doing so. It would be a riot. I know it's hard to draw these comparisons but, well, there isn't anything quite like bad hook RNG in the game.
The simplest response to this argument I've heard is, "Well, if we made a scourge hook perk work for every hook, then it wouldn't be a scourge hook, would it?" It's a moot point. If that aspect of the perk(s) must go, so be it. You can't use lore or original design limitations to say, "You're not allowed to balance this perk in this way." A wise man recently said, "If something exists in your game, you have to ask the question: 'How does this improve the game?'."
"And people are calling that good design: "Sometimes, the killer shouldn't get to use their perk that they equipped. Otherwise, it's mindless/skilless." But imagine that applied to a survivor perk. And I totally forgot they added a new map.
But hey it looked cool on PTB!

@danielmaster87 said:
I'd consider that refusing to participate in normal gameplay. You can throw snowballs and mess with snowmen, but your teammates are trying to win, so don't do it at the expense of doing the rest of the normal game. That's one of the biggest problems survivor has always had, which is teammates who don't do generators. Usually people who fall back on, "It's my game, so I can do what I want" are griefers.
Id usually agree with something like this, but you have the option to play the normal mode. And from experience, the queue times are basically the same
