My friend...you should leave the talks about old stuff to me.
You werent even there for Bubba's release tho
When he released even as a new player it was so obvious that he was rushed as hell, first of all he just came out with literally no warning. No PTB, only a teaser that came out I believe a few days before but the devs did weekly dev streams at that time and no where in their roadmap did it say they were releasing a new killer
His add ons and some of his animations were/are just directly from Billy (if you slow down Bubba's pallet stun animation you could (pretty sure you still can) see him briefly have Hillbilly's idle pose near the end of the stun

what was his old self like? I love him the way he is now.
Rushed and awful
Put on Carburetors Tuning Guide and you pretty much have old Bubba
-
I mean hes not wrong
Look at the games past and tell me it was easier for killers back then
-
Its not meta compatible because this aint a comp game
Not everything needs to be balanced for the highest level when such a small percentage of the playerbase plays at such level

FYI that time stamp the dev says they are “looking for ways to cater to competitive players who want to sse their hidden MMR and players who want the numbers hidden”. He didn’t say anything there about making a competitive mode and casual mode.
I said they are probably going to add one because think about it
What else could they do to cater for both of these groups?

It doesn't solve the problem. We all want a ranked skill-based matchmaking, it's just what they have now is bullcrap. We don't need a "casual mode", we need a proper SBMM that actually estimates skill, and not just escapes, or at least the emblem matchmaking restored, since it was much better. Devs are just using this false dichotomy to cover up their screw up: "either you swallow this ridiculous escape-based matchmaking that is even worse than emblems, or no matchmaking at all for you, you choose".
But I thought every one was "high MMR" on this forum? And that every one was going against try hard SWF since it came out?
Even according to their stats, its creating more balanced matches across the board

So you can't back it up. I have watched every Dev stream and do not remember anything like that being said.....

They said that? You sure MMR wasn’t their attempt for this?
Good players can still be casual players, and theyve this not that long ago, after MMR was fully implemented
They didnt say they were gonna add another mode, they just said they had plans to separate the 2 playerbases

do you have a source for that? im suprised they would say that
It was either their last dev stream or the one before that
-
I mean, ok
they've said they're probably gonna add a way to separate competitive and casual players, so they'll probably add a ranked and casual mode
there, you wont have MMR

It shouldn't happen at all tbh. I would hide all names until the match is finished.
And add symbols or something so killers can differentiate between similar survivors during a match.
bro I never even thought of it being an issue
who would go through the effort of adding the killer and waiting to see if the killer is going to add them back?

Yeah so survs can keep bullying killers! Thats the plan!
Only one tier S killer each 3 years that the deal.
Artist? S tier?
lmao

Yeah, because every killer gets nerfed when they hit live right?

2 boon totems on the map, try to win a single game with this without camping and tunneling. Good luck
Imagine a killer perks that is a reverse version of CoH = Circle of death :
When you find a totem you can damned it, another totems will be damned as well (as only one killer vs 4 survivors). When damned, any survivor hooked will die instantly till the two totems get cleansed. It would be exactly the same...
Done it multiple times, its no impossible task
sure the perk is strong but it aint even close to old MoM levels of strong
-
The game it self hasnt been on a decline, over the years its been only getting better
What is on a decline is the community, which has been getting worst and worst

If you people stopped feeding him altruism and do gens, maybe people will stop camping with him. But no, you want to blame the killer for your own mistakes.

I will always have more fun playing killer than playing solo survivor
But I will also always have more fun playing SWF than playing killer, not because killer is frustrating or boring to me, but because I have more fun playing with friends
-
*Kill rates sky rocket to 200%
-
yes

I think NoED is a fine perk balance wise, but its not really well designed. Sure, Survivors can cleanse totems before the last gen pops but how are they supposed to know if the killer has it? They could of wasted time that could of otherwise be spent on gens. Its a low risk, high reward perk.
So what would I do to nerf it? Remove it as a perk, and make it base-kit.
Now I know this sounds absurd but hear me out, this is the 2nd objective people have been wanting for ever now, if Survivors do all gens without cleansing totems they KNOW what they're in for, they KNOW the risk of leaving those totems alone. How ever if they do decide to cleanse the totems, it wont actually be a waste of time. You also have the risk of bringing Boon Totems, where you have to make the decision if you want to Bless a totem and risk the killer having NoED in the late game, since you didn't cleanse the dull.
Doing this how ever would have to introduce a totem counter on the HUD, not just Small Game.

Let me guess

Damn, that's a solid screenshot. Could honestly be promo art, it's so well composed. Demo grabbing one of the tendrils on the ground was a really cool touch.
Took us about 2 hours and almost 200 screenshots to get this one, lots of attempts that were so close to perfection, but this was our best

Shadow Step near a gen, reach 75, run away. free escape and killer spends time searching for someone that isnt there.
You're welcome.
Run back to the gen, he gets another Tinkerer proc because Ruin regressed the gen
Ruin and Tinkerer is just an endless boring cycle of being chased off gens, and in Solo Q you some times don't really get any chances to look for that totem because you have no idea what your teammates are up to.

Those changes don’t come close to compensating for the nerfs so they’re sort of besides the point.
While it’s true that you shouldn’t balance exclusively around high level play (which is more significant than most realise,) the numbers do highlight glaring issues with design and balance that need to be addressed. With the current state of killers, we can’t afford to go around nerfing bad ones just because they’re not fun to 1vs1, especially in a 1vs4 game.
Deathslinger was weak. Now he’s even weaker. In a game where the majority of killers are already subpar across the board. And for what? To haphazardly fix a potential niche issue whilst creating another one in its place.
If they had compensated for the nerfs, well, different story.
The only big hit Slinger took was his TR changes, his changing his ADS to .4 seconds from like .2 really doesnt change much in the grand scheme of things, to the survivor perspective that shot is still very much unreactable for the majority if you account latency, input delay and character movement.
Also what numbers? The only numbers that are publicly available are the most recent pick rate and kill rates, which the large majority of killers get at least a 2k every game.

killer good :)
survivor bad >:(

It’s debatable whether or not quick scoping was even “unhealthy.” I’ve seen plenty examples of high level survivors juking and running high level, pre-nerf Deathslingers.
But let’s just say it was unhealthy. If you’re going to nerf a weak killer to fix this issue, you need to buff them elsewhere, otherwise you’re doing more harm than good.
They didn’t buff him elsewhere. Instead they hit him with an additional nerf. That’s not deserved.
DBD has 25 killers. Guess how many of them can reliably compete at the highest level? 3 of them can. That’s 12%.
88% of the killers in this game are either flat out weak or underpowered at high levels of play. None of those killers deserve nerfs, regardless of any debatable issues of “unhealthy design.”
They did buff him in other aspects, he recovers much faster from his chain breaking and his movement speed while ADS was increased, which basically allows him to keep shooting around corners like before, you just need to pre aim.
And do you know how little people play at that "high level"? Do we really want to balance for such a small percentage of the playerbase for what many people consider a casual game?
Better to make things more fun for the majority of the playerbase, unless they decide to officially make this game more competitive.

I did in fact, get out of that match alive

No. Binding of Kin, iirc, was the worst chapter in regards to bugs. BHVR has been pretty bad with putting out buggy chapters, but I don't think anything was nearly as bad as Binding of Kin.
Legion's release was also pretty bad, and I believe its the first time we actually got a map disabled (Ormond)

Wouldn’t be surprised. Trickster feels incredibly rushed
He doesn't feel rushed at all, in fact he's probably one of the characters they put the most effort into. How ever they seem to have put that effort into aesthetics more, and not gameplay

Yup, it's that kind of unhealthy view point that has created a meta where only 3 killers are viable in the upper echelons of play. Now it's just unhealthy design in the opposite direction.
Have I said anything about the survivor meta being healthy for the game? No.
Majority of survivor meta perks are unhealthy for the game. Hell the perks are just the beginning, the core design of the game is flawed as it requires all 5 parties to essentially roleplay.
-
Congrats man
I only recently got all killers to P3 50 with all perks (First time I ever did it was the Trickster midchapter patch)

Nurse and Plague.
The only thing I regret is losing the flavor I loved, but in terms of performance I'm making survivors far more miserable than I was playing DS, and that is definitely my intent after they needlessly butchered him.
It was deserved
Just because something is weak, doesn't justify it being unhealthy design

Nemesis power just doesn't make any sense from it's core. How the hell a "whip" can only hit 1 target if its coming from above? (Don't even get me started on infection giving survivor a speed bost)
Nemesis in DbD is just wasted potential, that is all
-
Brutal Strength has actually never changed
Back when it had 40%, base pallet breaking speed was 3 seconds
Nowadays its 2.7 or 2.6 seconds, the "nerf" to Brutal was to compensate for the new change
