There is not a single thing in this game that people say isnt OP, how ever some are more popular and logical than others

who the ######### is saying they need a buff?

Hey devs

You have the code for it thanks to Pentimento

if the game is balanced around the top level of play, the game will be more balanced overall
it will also be WAY more boring
-
no
-
Pretty sure theyve talked about this and Demo and the ST perks can still receive balance changes, they just cant add any cosmetics
-
Me and 2 of my buds got the game and we all got it at the same time, at the time I saw it as a very unique and interesting game but never thought I'd take it seriously
And thats probably how I would see it now

Frankly i disagree. I have played this game for several years and the survivor killer balance feels worse now than it has in the past, by and large. While there have always been exploitable tiles and OoO used to be busted currently it feels like the entire gameplay experienced is based around giving survivors more second chances, and denying the killer the ability to apply pressure. Boon totems and hit validation have thrown the game out of wack, thats not even gitting into other survivor perks and items that are unbalanced.
"it feels like the entire gameplay experienced is based around giving survivors more second chances"
You say you've been here for several years, either thats a lie or I need to remind you of what truly was inbalance
Pallet vacuums, old DS, Exhaustion being recovered while running, BT giving both surivovrs endurance, insta heals, old BNP's, old self care (more like old healing) and the list goes on, and on. And the only killer being able to ACTUALLY deal with that was Nurse, every one else was actual garbage tier except for maybe Billy, but with the amount of pallets back then it didn't even matter
There is no way in hell DbD was more balanced back then

Killer is starting to feel exactly like you describe solo q. Skill dosent mean a damn thing and its unrewarding. In the current meta some matches can feel completely unwinnable.
Killer is literally the easiest its ever been, and your skill as a killer does definitely have MUCH more of an impact on the game.
As a killer I feel like the game is much more in my control than when I play survivor, something you pick up as killer with time is identifying opportunities to turn a game around. Good teams will limit the amount of opportunities but will not completely get rid of them.
99.99% of the time that you lost as killer, you could of done something better that could of turned the game around, the same can't be said with Survivor.

This game cannot be balanced around solo and SWF.
SWF is the 'optimal' way to play the game, and thus is where balance and these discussions should be focused.
I'd be all for making some lesser version of Kindred baseline if the match is entirely solos, or better yet including more options for solos to communicate with each other. Possibly Overwatch style opt-out VOIP or something.
That said - survivor is by far the easier role to master (up to a certain level). You have fewer things to worry about and all the map resources exist specifically for you to disrupt the killer, not to mention incredibly forgiving survivor maps like Badham (which still has some spots where if you crawl there, it can be almost impossible to hook you in time), Haddonfield with it's incredibly safe 'freebie' gens and RPD which hard-counters certain killers simply by existing.
It can be balanced by buffing Survivors in a way that allows them to communicate more, this way you buff solo's and it wont really have an impact on SWF. Being able to see Survivors aura's at all times would probably one of the best things you could do to bridge the gap, and a ping system.
Also lets talk about mastery shall we? Sure, Survivor may be a bit easier to master than killer, its not like killer is that hard to master either. Hell the hardest killer to learn is Nurse and even that doesn't take that long if you dedicate a bit of time to it. But imagine that you're the best Survivor in the world. Wanna know what that means? Nothing, because no matter how good you are your skill can't influence the mindset of your teammates. You yourself can be a good teammate and play perfectly every game but all it takes is for one of your teammates to mess it up and it all means nothing.
That is exactly why I don't play solo q outside of challenges. The time I spent learning a role where my skill doesn't mean a damn thing is more unrewarding than anything else in this game.

Have you ever tried it? Survivor is miles easier than trying to learn blight.
The basics of learning Survivor are much easier to pick up than Blight is yes
To master? Survivor is miles harder, since unless you have a group of people you consistently play with, your skill doesn't even matter half the time because solo q is hell
I started this game off maining Survivor, that was my first 1.2k hours. After a while it just started getting frustrating even back in 2018 when Survivor had even more bs than they had now, it led me to play killer and now I have all killers P3 50 with all perks and Im reaching 4.4k hours
So yeah, I guess you could say I tried it
-
Well you cant just add it for survivors, so then killers would have an add on shop
a good chunk of killers their best add ons are green or in some cases, yellow or brown. And you would only see those killers running those add ons since theyre now so easily accessible
And on the flip side, Survivors would bring cracked out medkits/toolboxes each game, because again of how easily accessible they are.
Just wouldnt be fun all round tbh
-
This is nothing to be worried about, bodyblocking is only reportable if you're actually preventing the game from moving forward
Say if you had all survivors stuck in a corner because youre standing there refusing to move, that form of bodyblocking is reportable, as you are not letting the game progress
bodyblocking some one in a corner for endgame collapse to kill them is in no way holding the game hostage
You have nothing to worry about :)

Hmm, its fairly common for video games to give less rewards when you play on easy mode.
So then why does Blight with Ruin/Undying/Tinkerer give a lot?
-
Think the last time I saw Hag was like 2 months ago
And Im not complaining
-
Trapper
I am the most powerful trap magnet in the fog and I hate it
-
Dont think Ive played with any one on the forums, and I rarely have my name as shro0mpy on Steam so dont think any one would know if they played with me either
Would be nice tho Im sure of it
-
Artist is in no way even close to Nurse
I see her as a better Huntress, a very solid killer but definitely not amazing since Im pretty sure you can crouch under her projectile and avoid it completely.

So how exactly do you counter it as the person on the hook?
Thats the thing that sucks, you as the person on the hook are pretty powerless in this situation and I think thats where the main complaint of camping comes from. All you can do is wait out the 2 minutes and just move on to the next match
Most people who camp to this extent are either new, or simply do it to get a reaction out of people. So the best thing to do is just move on to the next game

Is it fair when a killer face camps their first victim to death and the other three 3 survivors rush out gens like they're "supposed to" but then get hit with No Way Out + NOED + Remember Me/Bloodwarden and the killer in question gets 2 or even more kills from that?
I've had this happen many times before and it's the scummiest play style I've ever experienced but hey it seems like easy MMR gain
Something needs to be done about face camping during the early game. Even if they give the person being camped consolation BP in a certain category like Objectives or something to make the experience less of a complete waste of time.
Again I have no issue otherwise with things like proxy camping, slugging, tunneling etc but I really feel like if you face camp you shouldn't be playing this game because it's literally ruining the game for everyone involved and it's usually poor solo queue survivors who get this
You dont know how these perks work huh?
No Way Out requires hooks to get use out of it, if the killer hooks his first victim as you said and then all gens get popped, that No Way Out is only active for 24 seconds, instead of the potential 60 seconds.
Same thing goes for Remember Me, that requires to get Basic Attacks on the Obsession, and unless they had a Styptic theyre only getting hit twice, meaning 2 stacks of Remember Me. Thats 8 seconds longer to open the gate, instead of the potential 16 seconds.
Once you see that NoED is in play, unless youre lucky and you find the totem right away the correct play is to just leave, if you dont youre likely just spoon feeding him kills.
I will agree that it is a scummy strategy, and it is unfun to go against wether it works or not, but it only works if you let it work.

true but only to certain degree this strategy if performed while survivors are still on 5 gens (Cause quick down) guarantees at least 2 kills for the killer for almost free (if decides to face camp with buba for example) so yeah i think should get touched for the isnta down killers like him and billy... the others are managable with exceptions considering the addons.
Even a 3v1 those Survivors have no excuse for not being able to get out
If the first person went down instantly, that means that the majority if not all pallets are still on the map, and its not like they were being used during the time the killer is camping the guy on the hook.
Bubba and Billy are very good campers yes, but again these are strategies that only work if you let them work. So if you see a killer camping, just do gens.

I agree with this, but I also think pc blights demand nerfs specifically because of the dpi flick that console users don’t have access too and can make it unfair in chase.
That DPI flick isn't really a thing anymore, pretty sure you can "flick" just as much as PC players can now on console

Wraith just got his add-ons adjusted. He plays the exact same.
He actually got a nerf to his speed boost when uncloaking, the duration is now 1 second as opposed to 1.25 seconds
It is a pretty sizeable change, but not enough to move him down in much in viability
-
You can actually go up there as killer
The window up there, theres a hole next to it. If you angle yourself properly you can lunge over the hole and it will hop you on top of the window
-
Blight
Because its not Blight thats the problem, its the perks that are commonly ran with him
-
Its only gonna be for 3 days, until the map is gone for good

If you want to be a stealthy helper then I think the Hour of the Witch DLC which contains Mikaela Reid would be perfect for you, she has Boon: Circle of Healing and Boon: Shadow Step
A Boon is a perk that can be activated by a Survivor by blessing a Dull Totem, Blessing this Totem will associate all Boon perks equiped by that Survivor to that Totem, and you will only receive the effects of those perks if within 24m of the Totem.
Boon: Circle of Healing, increases healing speed by 90/95/100% while within range, and even allows people to heal themselves without a med kit.
Boon: Shadow Step, hides your aura and scratch marks when within the Boon's range. This effect lingers for 2/3/4 seconds when leaving the Boons range.
These 2 perks are really good and sound like they would suit your playstyle perfectly!
Another teachable that Id recommend is Bond from Dwight Fairfield. A perk that allows you to see your teammates auras from 24/30/36m away. Not only does that provide you info on what theyre doing, but you can easily find them when theyre in a pinch.
And usually its always good to have at least one Exhaustion Perk, these consist of Sprint Burst, Balanced Landing, Lithe, Dead Hard, Head On and Smash Hit.
Since you already have Feng Min, Lithe is a pretty good choice and is already accessible.
Hope this helps!

Don't have an updated Trapper or Legion (Julie), but heres the rest
Images may be cropped badly, Im on mobile atm

While looping is a skill that comes with time and better game knowledge, your skill as a teammate can be picked up much quicker when guided, so here are a few things
- When being chased by the killer try to only use 1 or 2 pallets at maximum in one area, try to be efficient with your ressources and leave some for your team
- Staying on the subject of chases and pallets, dont use pallets unless absolutely necessary, this means dont throw them unless the killer has an insta down or your injured. If youre healthy take the hit and create as much distance as possible. Chases are about wasting as much time as you can and the best way to do that is creating distance between yourself and the killer
- When a Survivor is on the hook, make sure no one else is going for the save if youre thinking about going for it, it doesnt take more than one Survivor to go for an unhook, this is done much easier by running an aura reading perk such as Bond or Kindred.
- While stealth can help out in the moment, it normally hurts the team in the long run. Since now youre cutting down the normal 4 survivor hook cycle, into a 3 survivor hook cycle. So at the end of the day you might no be hooked, but you wont have any friends to celebrate with.
- If you see that a teammate whos on 2nd hook is being chased and you have a hook state left in you, try to grab the killers attention. 2 survivors on death hook is much better than 1 dead.
- Always try to have at least one Survivor on a gen, that means if you see your teammates occupied with something else, take initiative and work on some gens.
Thats all I can really think of for now, hope it helps <3

Does not make much difference other than the Game map. NHL is going away soon I think.
Also makes a huge difference for buildings with 2 floors like Ironworks or the Temple
While theyre not nearly as much of an issue, they still cause problems
-
yknow there's this advanced military war tactic that you can do
and thats when picking up a survivor.. you look at a wall
-
I think some how making her more like Pinhead, where she stays in place but throws out a projectile, maybe an image of herself forward to hit survivors
And then she'd have an ability similar to Main Event, where for X amount of seconds she's the Nurse we know and... love?

Been running Iron Maiden, Blood Warden, BBQ and Bamboozle.
Hasnt really disappointed yet

Its the server denying your hit because you shouldnt of gotten it in the first place

Only problem I have with Boons is them being able to work on multiple floors, maps like Midwich, RPD and Gideon make them especially tedious

The context was "both groups of people who either want ratings hidden or visible".
But hey, maybe they're working on something and there's another clip or blurb where they talk about it?
there could be, but as far as Im aware this is it

In that particular clip he was specifically talking about whether or not the MMR should be hidden or visible. He only said "competitive versus casual" in reference to his assumption that competitive people want to be able to see their rating and casual players don't care or would prefer to have it hidden to avoid being made fun of by higher rated players.
By the way, I'm not commenting one way or another on whether or not they'll try and add another game mode, etc. I don't remember seeing anything about them doing it but it's certainly possible I'm just not aware of it. This specific Youtube clip, though, isn't talking about that.
I mean he talks about catering towards both groups, which again Idk what else that could be

He was talking about "catering to people who want the MMR hidden versus being visible". So it could be that maybe they'll show an MMR bracket, for instance, but you can opt to make that information hidden from other players.
Catering towards both the more competitive and casual, I doubt theyre just gonna make an off and on switch

Isn't that add-on bugged? Slows you down way more than it should. Is that really old bubba?
Bubba used to move pretty darn slow with his chainsaw and it only lasted 3 seconds
Carburators makes it last much longer than 3 seconds but makes him move a lot slower, even slower than it used to before
So not exactly old Bubba, but the closest we'll get
-
Because the way this game is, lots of the time when you lose it feels like it was out of your control and there are so many variables that it makes it VERY easy to blame the game rather than yourself
