I asked If they COULD do it^^ thats what i want to know :)

    For sure they can.

They won't. That's all you need to know.

Im starting to see a large trend with unfair patches sided towards killers for example the autohaven survivor exploits were fixed in honestly a record speed (about 2-3 days), while bugs like the unthrowable pallet and unbreakable totem on coldwind haven't even been acknowledged by bhvr since they were added in the Twins Chapter

You mean they fixed God Bus already? Haven't tried it out.

  • For Survivor, these perks are heavily underrated and should be used more:

    • Aftercare
    • Blood Pact
    • Better Together

Everyone is complaining about how bad Solo Q is, well these perks along with Kindred are what fix a lot of the problems, by giving your teammates more information in the game, information that is VITAL to survival. They're not flash but they really help in a big way. Aftercare in particular is really, really good.

  • @dummer33344 said:

When you pick up a survivor, THAT'S when you can be flashlight stunned, using the flashlight for what how it was intended. And this way, lightborn isn't completely thrown away (although it seems I'm the only one that ever uses it, lol)

As long as they make it easier to flashlight save like it was before the nerf I'm fine with that.

  • Tehy should just scrapthe emblem system. it is stupid.

Kill/Escape rate is all that matters in this game. It's the bottom line. Everything else is just details. They should do that instead.

  • @TicTac said:

Dead hard can be a free health state. Under the right conditions.

But what is with sprintboost? When you use it right, you get a speedboost like from a hit. You dont need to be injured. It counters dead zones, where dead hard is useless. Sprintboost is harder to use, but its stronger.

Lithe and balance can extend a chase, too, but the activation conditions make them weaker rhen dh and sb. But someone with them can still use the speedboost in a straight line and holding w. How much time does that waste without using a loop?

I think the basic problem with chase perks is that loops are too strong. You cant afford as killer to lose so much time bc of a perk when you need a lot of time for the standards two hits in a chase.

    Killers just overreacting.

Exhaustion perks all count as extra health states.

Some are stronger than others. Some are easier to use than others.

Deadhard isn't as strong as Sprint Burst, Lithe, etc. but it's more versatile and easier to use in all situations. That's why it's used by a lot of survivors. It is not as powerful in terms of effect as some of the other Exhaustion perks but thanks to its versatility it is used more. Killers just get their perception colored more because they get frustrated more facing it so many times and feeling each time they miss their swing. Which is not what happens with other exhaustion perks.

Further, missing swings is psychologically damaging especially when it happens when you are about to finish and down the survivor. Other exhaustion perks work at the start of the chase or in the middle so they're not as mentally harsh as Dead Hard.

People ######### about DS, Unbreakable, Soul Guard, Borrowed Time, whatever else. What I don't understand is why people don't complain about Dead Hard nearly as much. I almost never see it talked about despite it being at the very least one of the most busted survivor perks in the game.

Dead Hard, when used right, is--to me at least--the most oppressive survivor perk. In chase, it's basically a free health state, and especially against certain killers like Nurse. And all you have to do is press E. No talent involved, wasting so much time of the killer, and it's not something with limited use (like unbreakable which can only be used once), or something that the killer allows you to use (DS).

It doesn't really matter if half the time it's used you're exhausted on the ground. You can make a similar case in point that DS is not very impactful on a game because people use it as soon as possible, often times after their first hook, rather than preserving it for more critical times. Same with Unbreakable: using it as soon as possible rather than strategically.

DH is the most infuriating piece of shite perk ever but I don't ever see people complain about it and rallying around it getting reworked and I actually don't understand why.

Same reason people downplay how busted BBQ or Ruin is.

They like using the perk and don't want it nerfed.

Sadly, some maps are worst for some killers then others and some are activity bad for killers overall.

THE ######### CORNFIELD is the example of the ultimate survivor jerk off map. I know this because survivors will activity try to take you there with a SWF group. Not only is the corn hyper punishing since It will forever block your sight, but do to have jank Bloodlust is you are gonna not be able to see #########.

Funny enough, I have very good luck at mother's dwelling as Killer.

Coldiwnd maps are only bad for killers who have cornblindness.

A lot of killer players are strong corn maps, they just are better at tracking than you and probably use all manner of graphical hacks to make it easier to see things. I have faced many killers who can see perfectly in corn maps, it's useless trying to use the corn to hide from them. As a killer i also have very few problems on corn maps. In fact Rotten Fields is like easy mode there's barely anything survivors can use against me. It's practically just open space easy for the killing. I only have a problem as Myers stalking if I'm not using mirror build.

Question for experienced killers (especially those who have been playing the game for awhile)...does the realm matter to how well you well? Is your win rate roughly the same across the different realms? I find that there are certain realms that I really struggle with--almost to the point where if I get sent there, then I know it's going to be a struggle. Haddonfield for sure as well as the realms that are particularly dark like the new Autohaven, Badham and Midwich. I play on console and have my TV set to the brightest settings, but those realms still read as painfully dark for me.

Also, which realms do you struggle in as Killer?

Realm matters no matter how good you are at the game. remember as you get better and rank up you also face better opponents.

Survivors all universally hate Shelter Woods. For good reason. Killers all universally hate Haddonfield and now The Game. Also for very good reason. Some killers can't show their true power except on certain maps. Mirror Myers only really shines on Lery's etc.

  • @Jukantos said:

Out of all the imbalance between the killer and survivor gameplay and rank-up problems, this takes the absolute cake. Two consecutive games with 10 hooks giving me a derank is just a joke. I got 10 hooks. I got 10 hooks again. And i got 9 hooks. And as a result i'm now 3 pips lower than i was before. My gatekeeper emblem is never above silver, because thanks to the event handing out Commodious toolboxes like candy it's now less than 90 seconds before 3 gens go up, even when i injure someone and chase someone else off of their gen.

But what really gets to me is the chaser emblem. 10 hooks. Literally had everyone on death hook. Landed over 20 chases (with some slugging to desperately buy time). And my chaser emblem? Silver quality.

You have got to be joking at this point. Am i supposed to get 40 chases every game? Is slugging now mandatory to even get enough downs for the chaser emblem to be above silver?

TLDR how the actual genuine ######### do i pip up in red killer ranks without landing a 12 hook game? How is depipping at 10 hooks ever ever ever even technically possible?

Dude. For the past week I went down from Rank 3 to Rank 10 by escaping tons of matches and depiping 2 points each time I got out.

Luckily I stopped giving a ######### about rank years ago so water off my back, in fact it was pretty awesome because now I'm slumming in the Green ranks and facing killers closer to my actual skill level. Sure I am also getting a lot of potato teammates but you can't have them all.

Playing at lower ranks is better than high ranks. It's less sweaty and a hell of a lot more fun.

  • It's fine. It's all junk anyway. Both the free and the paid tracks.

  • @Marigoria said:

My survivor Q times were already instant most of the day. I'd rather have them still instant and not depip because of broken emblems + bs hits

LOL well can't have it all I guess.

I had queue issues before the patch so I felt that more keenly.

  • @Chocolate_Cosmos said:

I have to say that when this update come out, I thought it will be worse to play Surivivor (it kinda is) but overall I think I got used to it or at least I don't feel bad when I got "unfair" hit since I know why is the issue happening.

Even prior to the patch I always had hit validation issues so really I didn't feel it was that much worse. Sure now I see hits coming in after I've walked around a corner and killer is still on the other side. But overall it's not that much different from before patch. My ping in this game has always been bad so no biggie.

  • @Dsalter said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/228509/patch-4-5-was-amazing

until you realize the only reason the queues are so good is due to bugged hitboxes making playing killer a bit easier atm since its harder to loop a killer because of the reach :)

the moment it gets fixed the longer the queues

    I have zero problems playing.

Sure the hitboxes are all whacked. But I still escape as much as I did before hitboxes were whacked. No biggie. I just adjust my playstyle and don't get into chases as much. I don't go around whining about how bad I am at the game like all the other victimized sissies out there.

If this is the case I'm happy if they never fix hitboxes. I rather play a game instantly with dodgy hitbox than wait 5 minutes with perfect hitboxes (not that they were ever perfect).

  • What I miss more is seeing the Killer build after I die.

I'm not even in SWF why is killer build blocked to me? Before I used to look at Killer build so I could learn something new each time I died and get a feel for the meta.

These days I don't care anymore what killer is running. I just assume every killer is running every perk and I play appropriately to counter everything.

  • Wait I just realized you said Feb 12, 2020, not Feb 12 2021. LOL.

  • Game is fine.

The patch sucked but the sheep like me are still playing. No change in player count in fact it's even trending upwards.

    image.png

That tail end today is a little low but it will rise up as usual.

All I can say is I'm happy though because Survivor Queues are now instant.

  • Yeah that happens. I've had matches were killers walked on me in 5 seconds.

That's just how it is, especially on smaller maps like Wreckerys' Yard and Coal Tower.

If it's a big deal to you (and I can see it is) pay more attention to the start of the match and what map you're playing on. If you're playing on any of these maps:

    • Wrecker's Yard
    • Coal Tower
    • Rancid Abbatoir

Then be extra careful at the very start and don't run around or walk in the open. These three maps are the most deadly when it comes to getting into an early encounter with the killer. Walk and hide behind LOS blockers while feeling out what's happening so you don't get caught within 10 seconds.

Some of the others are also dangerous but these three are the worst.

  • You can't opt out of an update for an online game.

    It doesn't work that way.

Dev has control over everything. If they don't want to rollback nobody is rolling back. And believe me BHVR has no intention of rolling back.

As much as I respect you for defending Kindred as I use it all the time, but like I said before it can’t help stupid survivors.

When you’re on a hook, all survivors auras are revealed to everyone. This is GREAT info, the fact that everyone can see each other is HUGE, but that doesn’t stop survivors from Self caring in a corner, hiding in a locker or crouching somewhere.

Kindred can not help stupid survivors.

Kindred can't help stupid survivors, but not all survivors are stupid.

Thus Kindred helps. Not running Kindred means good survivors will have a harder time figuring out what to do. So while I respect you for pointing out that there are stupid survivors, I can't agree with you saying that Kindred doesn't help.

  • Just take a break dude. Game will still be here when you feel like playing again.

Finishing the Rift quests is easy. Finished all survivor quests in 1 day. Was going to do Killer quests too but it's nurse so I stopped. Waiting on Phase 2 of tome but that won't be for a while yet so I'm hoardng Chinese Toolboxes.

  • @CakeDuty said:

Hatch and EGC is already pretty killer sided.

The devs have stated the hatch was designed to whoever found it first would get it. So if you're in a chase and a survivor jumps in, they found it first.

Yeah, Killers have a huge advantage in the race to the hatch. It's crazy there are still people out there who want to make it even easier for killer when they already hold all the advantages by default.

The only way a Survivor has advantage is if he builds specifically for the hatch, taking things like Left Behind and fishing a key. Otherwise the killer moves faster, patrols around the map as part of his normal gameplay, doesn't have to worry about getting caught or stepping into a trap, and has priority closing the hatch over the survivor. In endgame killer will find the hatch firsts 4/5 times. If even that, feels closer to 9/10.

  • @TheeclumsyNinja said:

Its bloodeh annoying to destroy a team and chase the last guy right into the hatch for the escape.

To make it so the killer and survivor cant hold the match hostage, but still reward a killer if he plays well.

When there is one survivor left, the hatch only opens when not in chase. (It will still make a sound when closed though) and the killer can lock it if its closed.

That would reward killers and also make bad player tbagging on the hatch think twice about it cause once the chase music starts its closed

They already nerfed the hatch hard.

No need to make it any harder for survivor. Survivors already got penalized hard during endgame.

If you are constantly losing to survivors getting out of the hatch that is more telling of how bad you are as a killer. Hatch escapes are extremely rare unless you specifically build for it and tank your team to do it.

No, it isn't- But a SWF has by far the most potential in this game. A co-ordinated SWF will win. Tournaments prove that.

But, that's not what this about. Most people aren't that level, but SWF is still at the top of the pecking order in potential.

The Devs themselves, multiple times, said stats were not to be looked at for balance, because at a glance it is impossible to say why those numbers are high.

Undying did not win games by having it equipped. To do that, everyone would die once it was put on. Stop exaggerating if you want to actually talk about balance. DS and Undying did the exact same thing- Put the other side at a disadvantage either way.

Undying, you either had to cleanse all five totems, or constantly get your aura revealed. The survivor is at a lose-lose.

With DS, Killer's can't do ######### against aggressive plays. A recently unhooked survivor runs to a gen, and does it in the face of the killer. The killer now has three options- Just let the survivor get free progression, down and slug the survivor, in which nine times out of ten that said something survivor has Unbreakable, negating any pressure the killer might've had. Or the killer picks them up, and takes a 5 second stun- Completely getting rid of their pressure.

Both perks deserved to be changed, because of what you mentioned- Fun. Old Ruin was changed primarily because it wasn't fun- It didn't do jack ######### against old players, and ruined new players experience. Undying was changed because it was to oppressive. DS was changed because Killer's that didn't tunnel would CONSTANTLY get hit with it, because they had to stop the survivors. It wasn't fun to go against. Yes, it isn't fun to get tunneled, which is why imo it should get buffed in it's anti-tunnel capabilities. If the change goes through.

Nerfing an entire side, as you so clearly want, wouldn't "make it fun for everyone". It'd make it funner for survivors, and only Survivors.

But I have a feeling you don't care about Killers fun, right?

SWF has the most potential but the OP isn't wrong in saying that SWF isn't automatically stronger than Killer.

Your "hierarchy" is meaningless because the truth is that only in the highest levels of play do SWF beat killer. And it takes 4 skilled survivors in comms to do that against a good killer. The truth is in actual play most survivor teams (whether 4-man SWF, Mixed or Solo) are not playing at that level.

Tournament play is the upper 0.1% of the playerbase. So while SWF has the strongest potential, the fact of the matter is most games never reach that potential, because it takes a lot of skill and teamwork to achieve that.

The real truth of the matter is survivors die in droves out there every day because Killers are the Power Role. Killers like to complain about how weak they are and how helpless they are, but they're doing nobody favors, least of all themselves, by wallowing in the victimhood mentality.

The OP though is no better he's just whining about what a victim he is as a survivor. Like I said, if he doesn't like it he can play Killer instead and see how easy it is.

  • @MrPeterPFL said:

Kindred won’t help, you can feed all the info to survivors but if they’re stupid, they’re stupid.

    No dude, Kindred absolutely helps.

There will still be potatos out there, but in general using perks that give your teammates info is huge in solo queue.

That's why perks like Aftercare, Better Together and Blood Pact are extremely underrated. Kindred gets all the attention but those three perks are also gold in Solo Q. And I'd bring a Wedding Ring each time if only Green Key had a different color from Purple and Pink keys. Wedding Ring is that amazing. But painting a giant target on your back by bringing a key in lobby isn't. Why is why I smile whenever I pull a Wedding Ring from a chest using Ace in the Hole.

  • My general rule is, if there's more than 2 gens left and I am allowed to go to struggle on my first hook, I just don'ts truggle and leave for next game.

I don't mind going to struggle phase from first hook when only 2 gens are left and my teammates are scrambling to finish the gen, but if it's still early or earlymid game and you don't rescue me I want nothing further to do with such a bad team.

My finger will "accidentally" slip on the struggle key and now you guys can have fun with the killer as I prepare for my next game.

Now that survivor queues are instant again it's no big deal.

A SWF is not automatically stronger than killer, that is a myth killers spread around.

I saw the stats and SWF was barely better than solo. Solo sucks because of balance changes over time making killers too overpowered. Undying tilted the game very massively in the favor making it impossible to cleanse Ruin. DS doesn't win a game by having it equipped, but Undying did. It still can actually. A second chance to a very powerful perk.

The goal is to improve the fun for everyone.

Undying isn't even the real problem. The real problem is Ruin.

  • Killer is the power role, they're supposed to be stronger than survivor. It takes a lot of skill to properly verse a killer to consistently beat them or run them around a long time. Is working as intended don't sweat it.

If you think it's unfair just play Killer instead.

  • @EpicBigBrain said:

Seriously devs I dont think you understand how unenjoyable survivor is right now. Do the 5-10 min killer queue times not tell u anything especially when u had to wait seconds before the last patch?

There's no way they're reverting the rest of the patch.

  • @Kamikaze_Rose said:

What do you think are the Top 5 useless perks in DBD? Also, how would you buff them?

My list (in no particular order):

    1. No Mither - we asked for them to change it so that it at least has a benefit, other than the useless "grunts of pain" reduction, but so far they've refused to change it.
    2. Poised - In general, tying perk power to gen completion is a bad idea, unless the perk is powerful enough to justify only being used 5 times per match. 10 seconds of no scratch marks is lackluster at best.
    3. Left Behind - self-explanatory
    4. Monstrous Shrine - another perk that we asked them to change to make more effective. Maybe it works for all hooks? That sounds a little OP, but the perk definitely needs to be changed.
    5. Deerstalker - ???

No Mither is not useless. The no bleed capability is actually pretty good, as is the ability to pick yourself up. It's just that the perk doesn't do enough to justify its humongous drawback and since it telegraphs to the killer the revive ability is useless 99% of the time.

Left Behind is also extremely useful it has saved me more times than I can count.

Deer Stalker isn't completely useless either it's actually not bad for a slug build, though BBQ is definitely better for that purpose. Not the nurse kind of hyper slug I'm talking about the third seal knockout type of slug build.

Monstrous Shrine working on all hooks is a bad idea. Would encourage tunneling and facecamping even more than they already are. Monstrouus Shrine is actually a good ability except that it's useless in that it's' a "win more" kind of perk, because if you got a survivor in the basement it's already a gigantic advantage.

    Poised is definitely junk.

Other perks I consider absolute junk:

    1. No One Left Behind
    2. This is Not Happening
    3. Monstrous Shrine
    4. Up the Ante
    5. Predator
    6. Baby Sitter
    7. Overwhelming Presence
    8. Camaraderie
    9. Buckle Up

    In about that order.

  • @Tsulan said:

Are the devs tracking how many hooks the killer gets per completed gen?

Because right now, it looks like the killer gets 3 or 4 hooks by the time survivors complete the 4th gen.

Is anything planned in regard of this problem?

That's just your experience at high ranks playing SWF.

That is certainly not what the average DBD match looks like.

    Divisive strike ;)

    Thanatophohia

    Dragon Grip

3 seriously strong perks all available without having to obtain and rank said killer. I could quite easilly attach Thanat and Dragon G an insue absolute missery on low to mid rank survivors this evening. Does anyone else agree that the shrine is a bit unsporting?

For survivor maybe, but for killer learning new killers is still useful because all killer work differently.

For survivor its just a skin but every killer is unique and different. Shrine of Secrets has saved me from needing to buy certain survivors -- I got all of Tap's and Ace's perks on the Shrine so I didn't need to buy them. For killers though if you want a killer you gotta buy them.

This isn't a ragequit post or a "pity me, give me attention" post.

Since I started playing in the end of 2016, I've taken the occasional hiatus from the game.

This time I have not played since the Twins came out.

Over my years of playing DBD, I have seen horrible updates and broken patches.

I have never seen the game this borderline unplayable before and although I've seen you being stubborn and flippant, BHVR, I've never seen you this far gone.

The game's current problems and bugs are terrible - but it's the intended design features and your collective attitude that have turned me away this time.

I was still waiting to see if you'd fix the problems and revert the unwanted changes.

You say fixes are coming by 4.5.2? Then maybe I'll come back then, too. Depending on the fixes.

Until then, however, I have uninstalled DBD for the first time in nearly 5 years. I will not be coming back or buying any more cosmetics and DLCs until I see some major fixes.

Not that you care - you already have my money. And you don't read my posts, either way.

But I just felt like telling you, I don't know why.

Okay, I have other games to play. See you around.

It may not be the former but it is definitely the latter.

  • So if I use Tenacity do I get double crawl speed? I should test. Would be a nice build to meme around with.

  • The No Mither buff I want:

    • Increase Iron Will effect to 100%.
    • Your Aura can never be seen by killer.
    • No bleeding -- including Oni bleeed.
    • You are one broken all game.

Do that and I think it's worth running. It'll be stealth mode but stealth is already weak in this game so it should be fine.

That's ridiculous, that you have to look away and lose all awareness of your surroundings to counter a single perk!

Let's see, what's more ridiculous? Having to

a.) drop everything and run into a locker, find a gen to hide behind or run closer to the killer just to counter a single perk and waste monumental amounts of time,

b.) or just look a bit to the side and lose no time whatsoever?

At least that how things should be in a perfectly balanced game, but I'm not against some differences if they are fair. Some gameplay are better in some specific ways, while others are best on another part of the game. Often, the problem is that where a gameplay is best lead to being even better than others (exemple: being good on mobility beat being good on chase).

Disagree. Harder gameplay should be rewarded by better results.

For sure and when she fatigues she can see around her easier. But I mean every sweaty killer uses visual hacks to get a huge advantage in tracking and finding survivors. I remember tow years ago there were lots of threads teaching killers to use Low Detail and ini edits and GPU settings to get a huge visual advantage.

There was even a screenshot of a game that looked like it barely had any textures and looked more cel-shaded, super easy to see everything.

I get that some survivors do this too but it's more beneficial for killers in general because tracking is important to killers.
