  • Yeah but you taller I can hide behind a barrel easier.

  • Something like 1,800 hours, Devotion 7.

Small game is a perfect counter to ruin/undying imo. While repressed alliance is a more aggressive approach if you just wanna power through those 2 perks.

No, it isn't. Sure, you can find the totems. But the killer also sees you doing them and can tunnel the crap out of you. Breaking totems is dangerous in solo queue with Ruin/Undying being as popular as they are.

Repressed Alliance wut? Who uses that junk perk?

  • Hatchet latency is a huge pain in the neck. I can't count the number of times I've been downed while obviously behind a wall.

  • They'll be back in Feb.

Also firecrackers can't erase hag traps.

It's the servers. The game prioritizes what the survivor sees. That's why it takes away grabs literally all the time.

    You clearly don't play survivor.

Lots of instances where what the survivor "sees" isn't true. There are countless instances of survivors who run away from windows and taken several steps away only to still get downed by a killer strike from the other side.

This is clearly a latency issue and it affects both sides in many different ways, including huntress hatchet throws, gen/window vault grabs, etc.

  • Just don't be attached to winning and play the game for fun.

    (Inb4 "Just bring franklins 4head")

Been a lot of key gamers recently since the mori nerf, probably since they know keys will be nerfed soon and that the mori nerf was a massive red flag. Maybe they should've been changed at the same time to avoid this exact issue happening.

Anyway, I've seen quite the varying playstyles with them. I've seen people get a 3 man escape out of a 3 gen with a key they've got from a chest with NO chest perks.

I've seen somebody literally let their 2 teammates die on hook for BOTH stages and get out for free with a key.

And finally I've seen the people who are so bad at the game that they don't even get to use the key in the first place.

So, this begs the question, when keys are changed, are they going to be changed correctly?

The current rework people want which is letting only 1 person escape with them does NOT fix the core issue with the item - getting effortless, undeserved escapes after a bad game. As long as people bring one or more key then it's just as BS as before.

Will keys be removed from chests? I don't run chest builds myself, but my friend who runs them got a key in 4 of the 6 survivor games he had. If keys are still going to appear out of pure luck they shouldn't be strong, at all.

Idk, I just really don't have faith that keys are going to be changed in a good way.

"Getting effortless, undeserved escapes after a bad game" isn't an issue. It's part of the design of the game. The hatch exists to give hope, no matter how slim, in an otherwise bad game where things went horribly wrong. The hatch mechanics have already been nerfed enough.

This game requires a "catch up mechanic" so to speak to allow survivors a chance even when they are outclassed. Killers have the same mechanic and it's still in the game after all this time, it's called NoEd. The hatch is for Survivors and keys are simply an "add on" to that for lack of a better term.

Keys aren't an issue they aren't easy to use like you claim and forcing yourself to get to use them results in suboptimal play, which is actually beneficial to the killer as it means playing selfishly and letting your teammates die. The circumstances to use keys are very narrow and to get into a position to use it means you are often playing badly.

That said I get why they are going to get nerfed, but they shouldn't be totally obliterated the way Toolboxes were. They should still work somehow just differently from how they are now.

You have a point. But the question is: how difficult is it actually? Controller players can do it, bad keyboards too.

Also, most important: once you know doctor has it, just look at all the screen.

Is it so difficult for newer players? This is the debate

If everyone can hit the skillcheck then why does the nerf matter?

According to you anyone can do the skillcheck so the skillcheck should just be removed because it's obviously a nonissue.

  • They didn't stop playing, they just stopped doing gens, which isn't quite the same.

If you're finding that that's how people play in your neck of the woods, "Do as the Romans do" as they say. When there's only 2 gens to go start playing it safe and wait for someone to get chased before working on a gen.

What these survivors are doing is exactly the same: they are waiting for someone to get caught before taking teh risk, because in this game chances are the survivor being chased when there's only 1-2 gens left is the survivor who dies, or at least the one who is on the hook when the gates light up. And as you know when the gates light up the killer's best strategy is to camp.

If it really bothers you play with a selfish build. Take Left Behind, Plunderer and Appraisal and wait it out. If your team dies no biggie you can find the hatch after they all die.

Well yeah I played around his power 5 times like I mentioned. Stayed outside his radius every time he activated it. But eventually he finds you because he narrows down your position with Killer Instinct.

I just want to know why lockers aren't allowed to block his wallhacks. How's it make sense that stabbing a survivor tells you precisely where another survivor is hiding?

It's a fantasy horror game don't worry about things making sense.

Remember that Legion was created at a time when lockers didn't hide auras at all. He was designed to be able to find survivors even when they are in lockers.

  • I for one welcome not seeing Billy anymore.

Unfortunately I see too many Ogres and Blights instead and they are almost as big of a pain in the neck as Billy used to be. Ogre especially. Blight is a lot more manageable.

  • @Quiver said:

Just the title, i've got hundreds of hours in this game and i don't care if all survivors escape every now and then, but with literally the most used build and maining blight there are games i stand no chance. You could say i'm just not that good but really, survivors complain when you run super meta perks but if you change any of them you're just going to lose and get teabag. Killer isn't even fun anymore.

Learn to play issue. You are just fighting people way better than you. Lots of killer players do fine in red ranks. You have to get as good as them, or your rank will eventually drop from losing so much and then you're back in purple and fighting survivors who are a better match for you. "Hundreds of hours" is nothing there are people with thousands of hours in this game, they just know the game much better than you do.

I myself I consider myself only to be a Purple ranker really. But I get to red ranks easily because the ranking system in this game is broken and meaningless. Real red ranks crush me but I often come across easy fights where I win handily, these are people who also do not "belong" in red ranks like me.

  • Yeah but Spirit is still in the game and Deception is now nerfed to hell.

Works both ways. If you nerf Deception Spirit should be reworked. If you don't want to rework Spirit keep Deception as is.

  • @lagosta said:

    I thought it didn't.

That probably why Legion keeps killing you!

    @aarongai said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1823072#Comment_1823072

It does. In cases where there's only two survivors remaining, a Legion can just Frenzy hit one survivor, then use Killer Instinct to find the last one even if they're inside a locker.

I just came out of a game where this happened 5 times so the killer could get a 4k. It's pretty silly.

Or you can run to the other side of the map outside Legion's terror radius and do the gen there.

You can play around Legion's power. It's definitely annoying but it's fine Legion needs his detection to get his kills. Legion is the least deadly killer in the entire game but at least he excels at finding survivors.

Its a steam thing it happens when alot of people on the same server are downloading the same file at once

Not a Steam thing. This is an Unreal Engine problem, and DBD is by far the worst offender.

  • Unreal Engine games have updating problems, but DBD is by far the worst offender. I downloaded today's update in like 5 seconds. It's been half an hour already and it's still not done updating. I cancelled the update and played Overwatch instead.

    Hot damn.

And this happens every single time the game has an update these days.

  • I use Iron Will, Deception, Q&Q and either Head On or Lithe, depending on my mood.

I think Myers needs more than an add-on pass, I think he needs his basekit buffed as well.

I'm sure there will be people who disagree with me, but Evil Within is a less effective version of Blood Fury, and Ghostface is better in the 1v1 because of his on demand stealth, and imo just better stalking mechanic.

But yeah, he could definitely use an Add-On pass.

I agree Myers is weaker than both Ghostface and Oni. BUT Myers is the only killer who can do the cool stuff he does with his add-ons. His basekit isn't as good but if you made it stronger he would be utterly broken with his add-ons.

Have you considered the fact that pallets are actually completely unfair for killers? I mean, I never expect survivors to understand the plight of the common killer, but a completely empty map (though still survivor-sided) is the closest thing we'll ever get to a fair map. And don't even get me started on swf

No they aren't. Without palettes chases would end in 20 seconds and survivors would be dying wholesale.

As for nurse. As with all killers, getting caught in a bad spot is just as it sounds. Bad. versing a killer is about not getting caught in bad places -- and bad places are different depending on the matchup. I'm not very good at the game but basically you have to be aware of the map and where not to hang around when it's risky. It's all a balancing act with being aggressive doing gens though so I really don't have the answer for you.

The better solution when versing Nurse is to just not be seen. Play stealthy. Nurse is one of the easiest killers to stealth because she moves slower than anyone else and when she blinks her vision isn't the best, and she gets dizzy after. Lots of ways to stealth and juke, but you need to be specced for it and you can't choose what build to play and what killer to go against. If you're not specced for nurse you're going to have a hard time, like going up against hag without Urban.

In a chase you have the right idea. Break line of sight and run around obstacles. But note that a good nurse will get you every time even in favorable terrain. There is no defense against a good nurse except stealth.

  • That sounds less like a "huge counter" to the twins and more a learn to play issue for the killer player.

  • I'm in the .1% club. Got Adept Elodie.

    Wasn't anything special hahaha.

  • Ah so there's a gamebreaking bug? That explains it. I'll wait for the hotfix to see the new killer then. This has never happened before usually when a new DLC killer hits everyone's using it Day 1.

don't dc. crashes don't happen enough to be a problem the most crashes i had in a day was 3 from literally playing for about 10 hours. With back to back matches as killer in high ranks so i wasn't in the lobby very long.

As long as you don't dc it is not an issue even if you crash as you can take a break for a bit and return to play.

Yeah this. Don't DC. DCing is for wimps.

Crashes? I have never crashed in this game. And I play 10 hours straight a day sometimes. Or more. I have also never been disconnected. My internet is pretty stable and it's just crappy third world developing country internet. You literally have no excuse to DC. If your internet connection is bad use a wire to connect your computer to your router. Don't game on WiFi. If it's still bad get a new ISP. Don't play online games with crap internet.

Let's be real. People who DC lost their temper after getting owned and just rage quitted. The penalties should get harsher, if anything.

  • The only thing I want from DBD is to go back to its horror hide and seek roots.

The game already got big from catering to influencers who love putting on a ragtime run and gun show for their fans. It's time to stop catering to the loop and chase crowd and go back to making this game atmospheric, dark, and you afraid to sneak around in the dark.

So people who don't have thousands of hours should not have an access to killers who can compete with genrush, organized swf and bad map design? Everyone should go through the same process as with the nurse now? How does it make it balanced? There are casuals in the game who don't have that kind of time to invest in the game.

And there are casuals on the survivor side who don't genrush and don't play SWF at all, and map design has been fixed and reiterated over and over to remove all the broken god loops.

You say casual killer players without thousands of hours should be given the tools to compete with the cream of the crop survivor players with thousands of hours of play time. But you should be comparing them to casual survivors as well.

  • Strong disagree with the OP. Freddy is not a balanced killer, he is overtuned. He is good at all the important points for a killer: chase, mobility, map presence and gen disruption. He has a bloated kit. That's why is doing so well.

  • Took me 30 seconds to get a Survivor game just now, rank 3 at the moment in Southeast Asia.

Luckily seems we have tons of killers here in my neck of the woods.

This isn't anything new which is sad to say. SWF have been doing this for a long time now, and it's actually very sad they even feel the need to do this just to get 'EZ Wins' or bully a lower skilled killer. There's not much you can do beyond just grit your teeth and power through, at least until MMR gets reactivated.

Should not that there are actually people who have been playing this game for years, and suddenly one of their friends decided to join in and buy it during a sale (like the one that happened a few weeks ago) and now they are playing together not because the veteran player wants to be a jerk and abuse the game's matchmaking, but because they just want to play with their friend who they have been begging for the last few years to buy the game.

    Not all survivors are jerks.

You only play against a mori if you want to. Last time a killer used a mori against me was in 2019
