Just today I’ve had at least ten matches where someone DCs. That’s not including just dying on the first hook even though I’m right there to pull them off. I don’t know if survivors are just fed up with the latest update or I’m getting a lot of quitting Quintins on me
Aren't these just people who are trying to do quests?

Balance wise, I don't think much has changed to the Autohaven maps though. Bloodlodge maybe, but that kinda was an insanely strong map for survivors.
If you're talking about deadzones, well those also already existed before and correct me if I'm mistaken but didn't the devs announce that they were aware of the deadzone problem?
Bloodlodge was the only strong map, and maybe Azarov's Rest. But with the rework the maps got bigger with more empty spaces and dead zones. Azarov's Rest is like this with the map becoming more spaced out it is a lot harder to juke killers and chain the defenses together like you used to be able, and worse it spawns 4 gens on one side and 2 on the other, which makes it really easy for killer gen defense. There are spawns of Az's Rest that are impossible to win as Survivor if the killer plays it properly.
Wrecker's Yard has always been killer sided. Blood Lodge was survivor sided but that's largely been fixed, Wretched shop they closed the god windows off and made a breakable shack, the rest of the map is pretty weak except for God Bus and the crane, there are tons of dead zones. The only issue left on Autohaven for killers is the God Bus fatshame bug.
The deadzones are indeed still there and that's really the issue. Until they fix it the realm that is generally more killer-sided now.

I'm pretty picky and i have an option to buy one character. I'm aiming to Yui and Kate.
The perks of both are interesting.
There is a lot of popularity around Kate for some reason compared to Yui.
Please share your opinion about who is worth buying first.
Whether it's from an appearance and how fun it is to play with them etc.
Thank you 🙂
Neither. I would get them for free using Shards. Don't buy original characters save your money for licensed content.
Between the two Kate is better. She is prettier, sexier and her perks aren't junk. Dance With Me and WOO are actually decent perks. Yui's perks are all junk and her fashion sense is terrible. If Lucky Break ever gets buffed maybe it'd be nice. AMN is a joke perk more than anything and is usually something you only run if you're doing Killer Stun quests and even then it's not that useful.

the "good" ones are all using stretched res and have the brightest screens they can make using the nvidia filter.
Basically good ones are cheating and average / bad ones are not.
I was looking for nurse gameplay on twitch to see if anyone else was having the issues you describe (hits just phasing through survivors or the lunge just follows them at the same speed) and all the ones i found had stretched res and bright colours with gamma turned up.
This is true of all killers, which is disgusting really but what can you do. It's why stealht doesn't work, because all the sweaty killers are playing at zero detail, stretched rez, uber bright, etc. I even play the game dark at high detail because I like the mood of it. BHVR been making all the maps too bright it's annoying.
-
Nurse was easy to play before dedicated servers. Since you were the server there was no lag, so it was easy to time your blinks. Ever since Dedicated Servers I stopped playing Nurse because the latency makes me window to blink a tiny split second before I go into fatigue. So I don't nurse anymore because my connection to DBD's servers sucks, and I intend to leave the killer tome alone for that reason.

I don't know if his view has changed by now, but I remember Tru3 saying (I think in the past 12 months) that Freddy should be able to teleport to a generator at the start of the match... always disagreed with him on that, it's like resetting your start position every trial and choosing where you start pretty much.
I'd say Freddy has more skill than say, Myers for example. With Freddy you kinda have to figure out good spots to place snares at loops, with Myers you just stare at a survivor then get your ability and one-hit down with M1... Myers has to have the most plain and boring power in the game.
Eh, there's a lot of strategy in knowing when to pop Myer's Evil Within, its similar to Oni but more vital because his power isn't as powerful as Oni's. There's a clear difference between a skilled Myer and one who doesn't use him much. Also Myers has the most builds out of any killer because of the variety of his addons. Myers is a lot more exciting and deep killer than Freddy.
-
All killers need skill to shine at high level play.
A bad Freddy is easy to beat and is painfully obvious. That said Freddy definitely has the lowest skill floor out of all the killers in terms of becoming effective. With just a few perks even a noob can do serious damage with Freddy against the average survivor team. His kit is just too loaded and extremely forgiving.

thing is Hawkins is way more balanced since it adds some vertical gameplay and some cool ish mindgames. There are many pallets, but seems more managable (In my opinion)
Hawkins barely has any safe palettes. I think it has like 3 in the entire map. Most of the palettes are unsafe and are there to just buy a few seconds, unless the killer is bad and falls for palette stuns all the time.
The Game needed more palettes, it has no gyms and very few windows so it's basically just dead zones with a few safe palettes. The extra palettes were necessary but I think too many of them are too strong. This has become the easiest map to loop killers on for a long time, and I'm not even a good looper.
That said I'm glad, because after Autohaven has become Killerhaven I'm glad to see a map that helps survivors more. BHVR need to balance these maps out better some are just way too killer-sided and some are too survivor-sided.
-
@[Deleted User] said:
They're not making them OP, it's just a whole lot more team dependent now. Before you could drop a ######### ton of pallets and still have a few more to go by last gen, now you actually have to use your brain and conserve resources, and your teammates need to be doing generators.
Which means it goes like this: nurse/spirt -> swf -> very good killer, powerful build -> very good solo team-> average killer -> average solo team
most of the players fall in the average solo team category. so it will definitely feel killer-sided for most matches.
This looks about right in the pecking order.

I got plenty of Iridescent Shards to purchase a full skin for any of the survivors or killers but when browsing the in-game store, almost everything is behind a paywall that requires real money to be purchased.
Every single good skin (which there are very few of) are always locked behind a paywall and all the scrummy-looking ones that not many of us even want in the first place, oh yes, those are the ones BHVR is more than willing to let purchase using the Iridescent Shards.
I can see a clear pattern here with every skin being released behind a paywall that actually looks like worth spending shards on. I do not believe this is just my own personal taste I am talking about here. Let me know if you feel the same way or if you think there are plenty of good skins to buy in the shop using Iridescent Shards.
EDIT: Since someone pointed it out real quick, no, I am not talking about licensed killers, I understand those are behind a paywall for a reason.
Well duh that's how cosmetics work. The best stuff are behind a paywall. There are some good free skins but not that many. Use your shards instead to buy new killers and survivors.
-
I know right? I mean how hard is it to give survivors DS, Kindred, Bond, Borrowed Time and Unbreakable as Basekit. These are necessary to bridge the gap between SWF and prevent Tunneling, Camping and Slugging, but BHVR won't do it.
Crazy right?
-
They are like the hatch or that Ruin Totem you just can't find. They absolutely always spawn but it's pretty much RNG if you find them, unless you spend the entire match combing the map for them.
Red Glyphs are also like Red Survivors. They are both jokes.

Generators need to ######### go, i'm so sick of this stupid objective. The devs seriouslly can't put in 1 other instance where we'd go up against a killer??? They've altered gens so many times and it's still not balanced whatsoever, It doesn't matter what they nerf, gens just FLY on no matter what unless you have a tele killer and bring gen perks and especially pop/weasel. Look at how drastic the difference in gen completion speed when you bring a mori. It needs to be nerfed and changed again and im tired of people saying that shits at a fair state. It's not the general stress of how fast you have to be 1 v 4 makes killer not fun at all. Survivors have all the power at low ranks
Problem is a lot of perks work on gens specifically. So a new ame mode needs some thouhgt.

If I escape with Appraisal/Plunderer usually I depip because I don't do enough to rank up.
-
It's not that they're making killers OP, the're just making it more level with survivors, who had lots of advantages in game play mechanics from years ago.
That said there are killers that are definitely OP and are more powerful than others. Spirit is one of them. Nurse is another. Freddy is another very powerful one, not invincible but definitely very strong. And I do think they've one way too far in one direction; game is overall killer-sided right now IMNSHO.
That said what wins games isn't the game's mechanics it's a survivor or killer's skill.
-
Of course they do. Even if some survivors are deranking the quality of play between Green and Red ranks is still worlds apart.
Rank still means something even if the system is broken.
-
Firecrackers are the easiest way to get hook saves in the entire game. They are far from useless.
If the survivor isn't dropping it might have been too early, just like with Flashlight blinds. Firecracker's advantage is you can go for the same from any angle, unlike Flashlight where if you are not positioned where the killer is facing on pick up you aren't going to make it.

The emblem bug. I fell to rank 6. Managed to climb back to rank 3 now. I don't think I'll manage to get back into rank 1 unless I really really try. The good news is that most of the survivors who are in red ranks belong in red ranks. At least the ones I've met.
I'm actually pretty happy slumming in Rank 10 right now. The games are different and usually (not always) more chill with less sweaty killer builds. I haven't ran into a single nurse or spirit all day. That's a win. Yesterday I ran into some Rank 10 Spirits who were pretty easy to beat.

I haven't seen a single Devour Hope + Undying combo today.
I did see one killer run just Devour Hope.
People were talking about this combo the minute the change was posted and it's not likely to reach ruin+undying levels of use, because undying and devour hope both do nothing in the immediate start of the game and if both get cleansed you now only have 2 perks remaining.
Devour Hope + Ruin is more common than Devour/Undying.

I love when 3 or more content creators put out a video with same topic. Every killer has to copy the build.
95% of games now use Devour Hope. It is like all these killers didn't know what to do after losing Ruin/Undying and Youtube was like "what about Undying/Devour hope". haha. hilarious/predictable/pathetic
Since the patch came out I only encountered one killer doing Undying/Devour. Everyone else is running Pop/Ruin/CI/BBQ and the usual.
The meat in my region isn't copying the nonsense of YouTube influencers, thankfully.
-
I haven't been in green ranks in years. It's actually pretty refreshing. But also frustrating. Killers fall for basic jukes that I haven't really gotten to work consistently for ages. But on the other hand your teammates are worse than the baked potatoes I made with cream cheese and bacon last New Year's.

I used to be red rank survivor, but I haven't played much survivor for months. So currently I'm a yellow rank and I stuck there apparently. Killers on this ranks can easily fall for every fake and lose you with breaking line of sight. But teammates on this ranks seem to affraid of gens more than killer.
Since I started play dbd, I never understood the reason of rank reset.
I used to be a red rank survivor, but then I took an arrow to the knee.
-
@gendoss said:
I know rank reset happened a few days ago but usually there are red rank survivors the day of. I played killer and survivor all day yesterday and I may have only seen 1 other red rank survivor. As a rank 2 killer I was basically only matched with rank 9s and 10s and sometimes purples all day long. As a rank 4 survivor I have not seen a single other red rank survivor and am getting matched solely with greens and purples. What is going on? It has never been like this before and it really sucks because i'm getting constantly matched with green rank survivors. It's not much of a fair game at all if i'm only playing with people multiple colors below me.
There was a pipping bug which probably deranked a lot of survivors. I went from Rank 3 to Rank 9 just playing normally. The more I played the more pips I lost and I went down rank really fast.

Try better and practice more, there nothing more to tell you than that. Watch videos if you feel you need to, If you are good enough even the best nurse will lose a lot of time while catching you.. I don't have hours in the game at sick level, but with 2k hours and mostly as killers, i can give a very hard time to nurses so its not that difficult.
And one last things... even if you are the best survivor in the world or the best nurse in the world you are not supposed to always trick the killer or always get 4k. No one can do that, if someone say that its a complete liar, its just trolling or have a massive ego.
There are literally streamers who win 50 games in a row on either side. You most certainly can always get 4k or always trick the killer if you are the best in the world .

DC is the only guaranteed counter to nurse.

BNP is the strongest survivor add-on overall.
Odd bulb is the weakest ultra rare addon as it barely gives anything.
I disagree. The Engagement Ring and Crystal Bead are much, much better than BNP and those aren't even Ultra Rares. The amount of information the provide throughout the game are much, much more valuable than the tiny gen progress bonus you get from BNP. The Syringe is still better than BNP. Both items were nerfed but Syringe is still much more valuable.

Those potato survivors you get must be something else. Even not that good survivors know how to abuse the heck out of that map.
Nah, that's just a problem with potato killers. The Game has always statistically been a killer-sided map. There are safe palletes but a few safe palettes don't win the game for survivors. A lot of other unique challenges with the Game make it difficult for Survivor just as much as for killer, like the difficult to traverse the map and locate gens, and the double floors letting the terror radius confuse you make it harder to be efficient.
Fact of the matter is most killers get high kills out of this map. If a killer is having trouble he's a potato.

He's a regular M1 killer with a chainsaw. Nothing really changes about chase fundamentals.
Don't greed pallets. Drop them safely, force the break, and path correctly to the next tile.
He's very weak against windows. It's a free vault every time revs
Bubbas you are facing are weak if windows are free vaults for you. A good Bubba knows when to m1. They can hit you at windows unless you are at the proper distance. If your Bubbas are revving m2 when you are about to vault they are newbs.
You can use the usual chase mechanics but difference is Bubba can instadown you with his m2, and he can do this around obstacles ever since the buff. He also moves really fast now with m2 so he will catch you unless you are in a strong area.
If you are caught in a bad spot you will go down and that's all she wrote.

Killers aren't invincible & they all have counters. If you take them into consideration with an average Bubba player, then yes he is fairly easy to go against.
Survivors have resources on the map for a reason & it doesn't make the Bubba "crap" if the survivors take advantage of that.
Never said Bubba is invincible.
But he is a strong killer and versing him is not easy if the killer knows what he's doing.
The resources on the map aren't that useful -- palettes aren't that good against Bubba he can easily break them without losing much speed. Windows are what really help against Bubba. If the location isn't full of nice windows the only real way to counter Bubba is to give him a wide berth. The old methods of using obstacles to thwart his chainsaw turns doesn't work anymore.
All in all its still as always a skill game. The better player has the advantage. But Bubba is not easy unless the Bubba player is bad.

Seriously has someone who mains her she can feel awful to play as and against sometimes. She can't control her power and can lose it for being stunned and on the survivor side you either are one shot potential the whole time or dealing with corrupt purge which is broke as hell (the amount of ridiculous hits I've gotten with it is absurd)
She needs to be looked at soon cause she can feel really unfair or really cheap and it's kinda silly
I personally think she's fine.
She has a lot of conditions on her. The biggest problem with her as you said is that a lot of the control over her power comes the survivors -- which sucks. On the other hand, she is strong, period. Aside from having the ability to make everyone broken, or to make them easy targets at range, she outright destroys many survivors strategies and abilities.
Stealth is useless against her, and healing is useless against her. Survivors who went in bringing Iron Will and Medkits instantly got screwed over. Self-care, Inner Strenth, We'll Make It, etc. all dead perks.
The problem with Plague and the main reason she isn't top tier, is that her abilities don't do anything against the meta (Unbreakable, DS, Dead Hard) but otherwise she is really powerful.

There's clearly no internal QA. We are the QA in the PTB and we know how that one turned out.
We are free QA volunteers who give them load of precious feedback... which they don't listen to.
To expect them to actually pay money to hire actual professional playtesters is a bit too much.

Bubba is fairly easily to play against assuming the person playing him isn't the 1% that is a literal Bubba in the flesh.
Here's a few tips I can give ya:
- Vaults: Vaults are easily your best friend when playing against a Bubba. Unless he has Bamboozle, he is practically forced to give you an M1 instead of a chainsaw attack due to delay in revving, assuming you don't mess up your routing.
- Pallets: This is by far my favorite tip to give when going against a Bubba. 80% of the time, Bubbas will respect pallets when revving because they don't want to get stunned out of it. It's better to take the risk & run another loop than to drop it early out of fear & end up in a deadzone.
- Awareness: Just like Hillbilly, don't get caught in the open. If you see a gen in the cornfield & a gen inside a jungle gym, priotize the gen in the jungle gym instead. Make sure you always have something around you, because being caught with your pants down will end up being your demise.
- Collision: Bubbas are very prone to tantrums. Baiting them into objects as well as hugging corners are things you must learn to do when playing against him, especially if you're in a deadzone.
- Sprint Burst!!: Tired of playing against Bubba so often? Sprint Burst is literally made for killers like him & you're almost guaranteed to get away every single time. Perfect for doing that gen in the cornfield.
The Bubbas you play against must be crap.
Bubba is not "easy to play against" unless he's being piloted by a shrub.

I know everyone says he’s the weakest killer but he is legitimately one of the killers I always lose against. I’ve heard of the strategies of hug the walls and corners, windows, trees, etc when he revs up his chainsaw but it seems like most leatherfaces don’t have an issue with that anymore. I tried that multiple times and I’m still always downed by his chainsaw. I never seem to get away from him and it’s getting to the point where if I see a Leatherface on the field I just want to give up and DC. I’m a purple rank and I would say I’m at least ok player but anytime he’s on the field not only do I get wrecked but all of my team as well. How do we counter him? Any tips?
Leatherface is one of those killers who is a glass cannon.
Incredibly strong in one area (CQB chase) but lacking in everything else (mobility).
He has major weaknesses which you must exploit to verse. He is not a weak killer by any means. Before the buff he was legit weak but after the buff he cannot be defeated in close quarters unless you are in a very powerful area with lots of windows -- and those things barely exist in the game anymore. Pre-buff it was a simple matter to loop him, with the buff you will go down fast if you don't keep your distance.
Unfortunately many survivors don't know this and don't give him a wide berth, so it's very, very easy to lose to him. And since he punishes mistakes fatally you just need to slip up once and you're dead.
LF is a strong killer. Those who say otherwise are just biased fools who still think he's old Bubba.

This is something that I think people are complaining about simply because it's the hip thing to do, which is get mad about anything and everything BHVR does. But that's just my best guess because I really don't know what's going on in people's heads. These new injured animations... there's simply nothing wrong with them. I don't know what else to say. Would you rather it be less realistic and the survivor not hold their side? And this is not like the UI changes where people don't like how spread out everything is, which is a legitimate reason to hate it. This is literally a case of something new that will grow on you in time.
I think the best refute against the injured animation haters is a reference to another horror game: Resident Evil. The Resident Evil series also has a healthy and injured run animation. And guess what the injured state looks like:
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/KWS8VCWDENC0/image.png
Seem familiar? Hand on your side, limping? It's the exact same thing as the new DBD injured state. And NOBODY has ever complained about Resident Evil's injured state, so why are we?
Sure, you keep telling yourself that.
First off that's a two-decade old game. People have been saying that the animation we ot in the patch is two generations old in quality. They're wrong. It's FOUR generations behind.
Second off the injured running animation in Code Veronia was actually singificantly better than the poop we got here in DBD 4.5.2. Code Veronica came out on the Dreamcast, a console 4 generations behind where we are right now. And heck it isn't even as good as what Capcom did 20 years, four generations ago!
That's how bad it is.
But sure, keep telling yourself that it's not bad at all.
