You'd be shocked how little kindred helps with randos.... I use it a lot, I love kindred. But I have definitely been left to die for no acceptable reason. Too many survivors are just that clueless.

They need to incentivize survivors to unhook or something

  • @Blueberry said:

Even with potato teammates if you're a good survivor you can make wins happen. I do it and so can you.

You gotta learn how to carry. I do strictly solo queue and win most my matches.

Dude idk how you can carry lmao. I try but there isn't much you can do with potato teammates so I don't bother anymore. Everyone for themselves

Ok, so YOU don't see this as anything but a casual game. YOU don't feel disconnecting is as big a deal as doing it in Comp matches of other games. Why is that? Are those other games MORE important to you, and thus aren't casual? What about the people playing THIS game who DO find the matches important? What I'm pointing out is this is a rather selfish way of looking at it, i.e. because it isn't that important to you, it shouldn't matter if you disconnect; screw those other people. Or as Cartman would say, "screw you guys... I'm going home."

I feel like you take this game too seriously ngl

Well I can tell you that since a few weeks there is a lot more gen rushing going on, a lot.

It is not once every few days anymore, and yes you can still come back from it but that only depands on how much the survivors F up.

Not long a lgo I had a game as wraith and 4 gens were done in around 4-5 minutes and I only got 3 or 4 hooks.

This was on thompson house and the only reason I got a 4k out of this was they only focused on the middle gen and not on the other 3.

Had they split up than all 4 escaped within about 7 minutes total match time.

And this is only 1 example as the gen rushing is most definitely increasing

Really I can't get my teammates in solo queue to do gens so idk what y'all talking about with gen rushing.

Also ruin + undying was nerfed cause having instances where it had to be cleansed multiple times made it too strong with ruin but weak with other hexes and not very consistent.

New undying is still good but at least consistent and not as oppressive as before and still see plenty of killers using it, heck i'm seeing more undying + devour, been using it myself lately

  • @MadLordJack said:

Nope, because every single trial is 3-minute gens unless I'm running an s-tier killer with some of the nice trimmings. It was kinda fun at first, but the event kind of made even solo's genrush.

Really? I can't get solo teammates to do gens

It doesn't matter what role I'm playing to determine that this update was a mess. Do you think that the free hits are worth the rest of the update to most people? Probably not.

Infact, it's made my experience as killer even worse. Why you may ask?

    • Hitboxes aren't just broken on survivor because my weapon has went right through them like they were a ghost multiple times.
    • I'm not used to the UI on killer so sometimes I won't notice if somebody that was slugged got picked up, etc.
    • Wood simulator on The Game.
    • There is a whole lot more DC's from survivors because of the broken hitboxes.
    • Longer queue times as killer due to a lot of survivor players taking a break from DBD (not surprised).
    • Etc.

There might be a few good things that came from this update, but I can assure that's as good as it gets. I want to work for my wins as killer & not have unfair chases as survivor.

It made my killer experience worse cause it got easier Idk how y'all play

    Stop being afraid of change!

    Fine.

How about they revert ALL changes and updates! We’ll go back to just Trapper, Wraith, Billy, Dwight, Claudette, Jake, Meg, MacMillan, Coldwind, and Azarov.

    Happy?!

Jesus dude chill. Sorry but the animations are wonky, as a console players and having a big screen information is all over the place and it isn't great, hitboxes being wonky af with the update, like I'm okay with updates and changes but this is a bit bothersome

What is mandatory: Bond or Kindred

Bond: have information as to where your teammates are, and in chase to not bring the killer to your teammates accidentally

Kindred: to make sure someone is being saved and to better plan what you are doing and if you need to go for a save instead of assuming

The three perks are your choice. Depends on your playstyle. I'd experiment to see what you like

I will recommend though, try to be as independent as possible, particularly with healing. I would recommend self care/inner strength (particularly the latter). That's also why perks like Unbreakable, Deliverance, etc. are useful as well to an extent

I use inner strength all the time one of my favorite perks out there. Deliverance is hard for me to use cause I get chased first a lot of the times, and I don't like unbreakable cause I don't get much use out if when I use it tbh

  • @TheFireVVolf said:

How about Plunder’s Instinct, Ace in the Hole, Spinechill and Iron Will?

I have been using this build to farm items and, Jesus Christ, I get keys almost every match. Saved me when everyone else died.

If you don’t get a key you can always bribe the killer with a medkit.

I did try appraisal, ace in the hole, plunderers before but wasn't too useful tbh

  • @Volcz said:

    Adrenaline, Fixated, Sprint Burst, Deception

Inner Strength, Head On, Quick & Quiet, Fixated

Meta perks (if you want to be a low skill but high reward player):

DS, BT, DH, SG (this build will hold you back from improving overall)

There's many builds man, but there's 3 off the top of my head. Just gotta experiment and find out what fits your playstyle the most and fine tune it. I would personally avoid DS and DH, they are extreme crutches and against great killer mains, they get nullified. Good luck.

I need a build that helps with gens, and allow me to get good teammates

  • @Yamaoka said:

Bad teammates are often scared to do gens alone and hide whenever they're injured so maybe Bond+Prove Thyself ? That way you can always find scared chickens, heal them quickly and motivate them to work on a gen with you and Prove Thyself removes the efficiency de-buff so win-win situation.

The other 2 perk slots can be used for whatever you feel you need for your own survival. An exhaustion perk of your choice and DS for instance.

I actually tried a build like that. Bond, Open handed, Prove Thyself, and Better together, still didn't work

  • The ds change doesn't address tunneling someone to slug them. I got tunneled then slugged now what?

  • @MadLordJack said:

    Are you thinking of switching?

Killer is boring so i dont wanna

  • Yes cause now I can tunnel all i want and not feel bad :)

  • I don't expect this perk to be used anymore tbh lol

  • Didn't fix the issue of people using ds with ub. If the killer tunnels me off the hook and slugs me well I was tunneled but ds won't work since the timer still goes down so expect that to be a thing still

  • @savevatznick said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1912834#Comment_1912834

If all four survivors go down without picking anybody up then you all made pretty big mistakes and deserve to get slapped for it. The first chase in the game should technically be the longest because survivors have literally every pallet on the map up. If you get slugged at 5 gens, you either weren't doing gens or are bad at chasing.

I mean if I down a survivor and go to the other side of the map and keep slugging for no reason it's okay. And speaking from experience I had a wraith do this to me in a match and we still got all 5 gens done but it took longer than it should have. Also if the killer is slugging I will keep doing gens lmao

  • @savevatznick said:

I never understand what the whole gripe about "slugging" being toxic is. I'm assuming only low rank survivors believe this.

When you are slugged, you don't lose a hook state. You can move around. How is this worse than being on a hook?

The Killer slugs tactically - it is a choice. They gain a lot of short-term pressure in exchange for not taking one of your finite health states. It is better sometimes to leave you on the ground than stun themselves for about 20 seconds putting someone on a Hook. Most Second-Chance perks, especially the DS/UB combo basically guarantee a free slug recovery from a survivor, which in is a down from a killer that could be a hook. Basically, second chance perks make survivors have to be downed 16 times instead of 12 total.

So if I slug everyone at 5 gens it's valid?

  • @SaintDorks said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1911456#Comment_1911456

Technically, slugging is a result of the dstrike/borrow time meta.

Camping will never go away cause It is a salt farming type of ordeal.

Tunneling is usually a result of wanting to pick a player off fast.

I would also say not a lot of survior perks are trash..Just, they are not a bunch of free second chances so everyone over looks them.

However,I would say I would nerf Dstrike and buff Flip-flop.

No a lot of them are trash and are situational.

Last time I checked a lot of perks don't counter act the tunneling/slugging and camping that killers do so most survivors don't wanna use them

  • Passively going to sleep with no counter play and the constant slow downs just makes him boring and a snooze fest.

  • @hello_hru said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1911475#Comment_1911475

It wouldn't matter how you played because survivors are going to run those perks regardless?

They gotta be prepared doesn't matter. I hate running these perks cause I usually get no value from them but I hate not having them when the situation calls for it

  • If y'all wanna buff ph or whatever just let me use windows and pallets please

  • @OmegaXII said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1911456#Comment_1911456

That doesn’t mean those perks shouldn’t get a toned down. Right now those perks are doing far more than just countering camping and tunnelling

Then you need to buff survivor perks if you wanna nerf these

  • @hello_hru said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1911456#Comment_1911456

So we can't camp, slug or tunnel, and everytime we get a good gen protector combo it gets nerfed. What are we supposed to do then?

you can do all that just don't ######### when survivors use those perks

  • They're the only perks that deal with camping/tunneling/and slugging. Either deal with those playstyles first or buff the survivor perks since a lot of them are trash

"I don't use exhaustion perks and do just fine without them I think you're exaggerating a bit, heck balanced got nerfed and dead hard doesn't work half the time while head on is a meme so idk what you want done to them"

I never implied you need exhaustion perks to do well. You don't need any perks to do well. Balanced is actually one of the few exceptions that I do think is balanced well. It has bad and good maps, and you risk not playing near certain spots for it on maps which requires you to play around it. IE it's got costs/risks and downsides. It's situational enough to warrant its strength. Dead Hard not working is ping related, not perk related. Even then, used properly you can avoid the ping issues. Head On is the other exception that is fine as well. It's situational.

I'm more talking about the other exhaustion perks.

"I used to main pig (but stopped when spirit got released) and idk what her issues are. Traps add slow down (despite pig players being big on tunneling) I guess work some of her add ons"

Her main issue is how trash her crouch/ambush is. 99% of the time her ambush isn't even worth using and you're better off going for the m1. That's a sign of bad design. She also needs less RNG on her trap effectiveness and she needs a full addon pass as most of them are quite bad or encourage "not fun" game play.

"PH needs a rework on stuff cause the tunneling, getting hit through walls and not really being able to use windows and pallets (main survivor defenses against him is annoying since if you do you get hit and the free tunneling he gets with the cages is awful"

We want to have PH essentially getting hits when out of LoS. IE behind walls and making skill shots. This raises the skill ceiling and makes everyone feel like they have outplay potential. We'll simultaneously nerf the "hitting during locked animation" plays.

We do this by increasing the recovery time on canceling his attack without using it to allow for the survivors at windows/pallets to being to fake it (similar to Huntress) while simultaneously decreasing the recovery time after the ranged attack and making the attack quicker. This essentially encourages him to hit skilled LoS hits behind walls.

We also need Tormented to be applied on successful ranged hits. Currently your likelyhood of Tormenting good survivors is significantly low so you are rarely caging that often.

All of this makes him use his ranged attack for skill shots more often because it no longer feels overly punishing for missing and rewards him more for successful hitting them, while simultaneously now adding more opportunity for survivors to fake him at pallets or windows if he puts his sword down for the ranged hit too early. Now when you get hit as survivor it doesn't feel cheap because he predicted your movement through a wall and it wasn't just when you were locked in animation.

Okay so nerf lithe and sprint burst how? One limits you to walking most of the match and idk about lithe

Her ambush is good for getting hits at loops with mind games at loops and suppressing her TR, as for her traps I guess make it to where you gotta search two boxes at least

I would say don't rely on WGLF. The conditions are dogey to say the least, unless you have a lot of experience in the game.

1.) Do objectives. Not just gens. If you see a totem cleanse it. If you see a chest open it. (caveat: do these thing as safely as you can.)

2.) Look for safe unhooks and run we'll make it, if you're in a healing mood. You can get the unhook, a safe save, and healing all in one and very quickly.

4.) Take chases if you can and try to either keep the killer going so long that they finally cut off, or see advantage to sneak away from a chase.

Number 4 can be very hard if you're not good at leading the chase. Vaulting points, stunning points, chase points, stunning the killer, etc. it's also extremely hard because you and other survs are somewhat competing for heal and any points that resolve around a chase. It's easiest, ime, to a run a good healing build centered around safe unhooks and co-op actions.

However, that said, how survs gain BP needs a looking.

I actually do all of that (mainly the totem cleansing cause I run IS) but it still feels so iffy on getting points and it's annoying

  • @[Deleted User] said:

Bring Deliverance, For the People and a medkit. You'll get a lot of Survival points by unhooking yourself, healing and escaping as the obsession. Apart from WGLF, BT (guarantees WGLF stacks) and Prove Thyself (more Objectives points, the 2nd hardest category to fulfill) are good options.

Besides that, just play according to your points. If you've already been chased for quite a while and filled your Boldness points (the easiest category) you can start to play more stealthly and focus on heals and gens for other points.

I don't struggle with objective cause I tend to do 3-4 gens myself half the time but boldness is hard since killers don't like chasing me for some reason

  • Constantly getting 3-4ks every single game cause killer is easy (mind you I play legion and plague) got extremely boring and I wasn't having fun anymore

  • @Blueberry said:

"How would you suggest take more skill? That would require a nerf to something"

Well it would be hard to do because of just how they designed Freddy from his rework. IE bad. He was made very simple like Clown but no one complains about Clown because he's weak. If Clown was as strong as Freddy they'd be complaining because there isn't much skill ceiling there. IE complaints come from a perceived skill to power ratio, meaning people don't mind strong killers if they feel they require a lot of skill. Scottjund actually released a video that summed up my thoughts on it pretty similarly. There was room for skill adding in Freddy's old design but new Freddy doesn't have much room for that even though it's what he needs.

In other words I'd incorporate some of his old features into current Freddy as they had room for skill expression. This is obviously quite vague but there would be a lot to type here.

"Exhaustion add ons were made around the time exhaustion came back during a chase, since that's no longer the case they need to go"

And even with current exhaustion addons, exhaustion perks are still way too strong and have literally no downsides, costs, or negatives. Just because they were made during a time when exhaustion was way strong, does not defacto imply that they need to be nerfed. There is literally zero reason not to run an exhaustion perk right now if you care about winning unless you just want to meme. That is a sign of poor design. You should always be weighing pros and cons when picking perks. You do that on many killer perks, but very little on survivors ones, like most the exhaustion ones.

IE just because something that was OP got nerfed, doesn't mean it's not still OP, it's just less OP.

The exhaustion perks are literally a 3rd health state every 40 seconds..that's insane. As if the counter play wasn't already abysmally non existent, you want it even less.

Lets take a look at current exhaustion perks or addons that are at the level of where you want these better exhaustion addons brought to. Are literally any of them used almost at all? No, they're not. Why? Because they're trash. What's worse is we are in a meta where every single person runs an exhaustion perk...so in a meta where it is the absolute best case scenario for those exhaustion perks/addons and they still aren't being used...that should tell us something.

"Plague needs a rework but I think myers and pig are fine (I don't see the issue with them)"

Myers is pretty easy to bully, he needs some buffs substantially. Pig however is trash.

    "PH needing a buff? Yikes"

He still gets bullied. No map pressure and poor design his cages and ranged attack that need reworking.

I'd push him more in the rework direction than I would buff to be more precise. Poor design choices on a couple things.

I don't use exhaustion perks and do just fine without them I think you're exaggerating a bit, heck balanced got nerfed and dead hard doesn't work half the time while head on is a meme so idk what you want done to them

I used to main pig (but stopped when spirit got released) and idk what her issues are. Traps add slow down (despite pig players being big on tunneling) I guess work some of her add ons

PH needs a rework on stuff cause the tunneling, getting hit through walls and not really being able to use windows and pallets (main survivor defenses against him is annoying since if you do you get hit and the free tunneling he gets with the cages is awful

  • The amount of pity i'm seeing towards killers dcing in this thread...yikes

  • I don't play killer anymore sorry it's too boring. Haven't played that role in over 2 months

  • @Blueberry said:

Freddy doesn't need nerfs, he just needs to require more skill.

Huntress addon changes I can get behind. However they shouldn't be gutting her exhaustion addon like they did to poor Clown.

    No other "nerfs" are needed.

I'd move Clown, Twins, Myers, Pig, Plague down into the huge buff category.

I'd move PH and Ghostface into slight buff category.

How would you suggest take more skill? That would require a nerf to something

Exhaustion add ons were made around the time exhaustion came back during a chase, since that's no longer the case they need to go

Plague needs a rework but I think myers and pig are fine (I don't see the issue with them)

I mean...you can't have it both ways. Just not how the game works. Can't have zero utility when a lot of killers have good 1v1 and still expect to win.

sorry still not gonna run those perks. They're second chances and only for bad/newer players. If I see someone getting faced camp or being tunneled oh well not my fault lol

  • @[Deleted User] said:

Gotta be honest, it doesn't feel negative to me. I'm usually more annoyed at my teammates than anything else. There should never be 4 survivors without a DS or BT between them. And if a red rank survivor can't run a majority of the killers on this roster for the better part of 5 gens on most maps over 3 hook states, they need to look in the mirror.

Most people don't run those perks cause they don't enjoy running them (myself included) and against killers like deathslinger lol good luck lasting long in a chase

  • @GoodBoyKaru said:

God no I absutely despise it and I genuinely don't understand why anyone would willingly go to that map. The gameplay is incredibly boring, with one of two choices to play: either stealth 100 or run to main building. Platform gens up the wazoo, but most of the pallets are unsafe as all hell so have fun trying to play those. Random pallet spawns? Good luck buddy they're almost all identical.

It's just dull and monotonous and I despise it.

I've just been seeing a bit more lately and am honestly just confused. I hate this map, especially when it comes to finding totems

  • What's wrong with stealth? I prefer against killers like slinger cause getting chased by him is awful
