I keep saying this over and over. Undying isn't strong. Ruin is strong.

Ooooookay.
I don't wanna be that guy, but either you don't know how Pop and Ruin work or you don't know what the word synergy means.
Both contribute towards gen defense. What is not synergistic about them?
Just because they both don't function at the same time, doesn't mean they don't have synergy.
You are indeed "that" guy.

Two reasons.. A) Because survivor queues are incredibly long; so we use that time to buy stuff in the bloodweb on other survivors. Killer queues are instant. B) Because survivors arent individually tracked for MMR; where all killers are individually ranked.
Survivor queues have been instant for the past week ever since patch came out.

What is the new HUD going to look like? I'm not in the know.

I just spent over an hour on Blackwater swamp looking for 4 claudettes who did one gen then I'm asuming they just hid in lockers and used urban evation round the map. Dident get any hits no gens were being done so I dcd as I actually wanted a fun game. If I want to play hide and seek il download a hide and seek game. So now that I had to dc coz I was getting bored I have to wait an hour before I can get back in any game. Its a joke
Dead by Daylight is a hide and seek game.

Killers have been curbstomping survivors for the past 2-3 years. It's no big deal.
The DS and OOO nerfs are fine.
But I would definitely want them to also take a look at Ruin. I can tell you that Ruin is the #1 reason killers are doing so well for the majority of players. If I go without ruin I will usually get 1K, m aybe 2K if the survivor team sucked and an occassional 4K if they really sucked. If I slot Ruin in I get 3-4Ks without even trying. That's how big an advantage Ruin gives. Of course there's a risk it blows instantly. But that just underscores why it's a bad mechanic, if it's such a game-changing effect that is based on nothing but the luck of the totem spawn.

So any tips on what to do if you have a 3 gen advantage and survivors want to hide for 10+ minutes not doing anything? Whispers I know but what else...tired of wasting time when I could be in another match and I don't want to disconnect
Nothing to be done about it. If you are doing a 3-gen that's what you signed up for.

I agree with this.

I think there should be a way for killers to leave a game without a dc penalty if they end up with a bunch of toxic survivours that won't leave or do gens and just piss you off. Concidering survuviurs can die on first hook if they don't like the way the game is going but killers get dc penalty seems kinda unfair
Yeah that's fair. I think there should be a way for survivors to leave a game without DC penalty as well if they end up with a bunch of toxic survivors and killer.

I've had a incredibly high amount of 3 and 4 man escapes while playing solo queue. So yes, once the desync gets fixed, the high escape rate will be the norm.
Killers don't really have anything left against survivors that just want to push out gens and it shows.
Hell, even the Japanese Tournament showed killers getting 2 hooks by the time all gens were finished. Even with full slowdown builds the gens just popped left and right.
I wonder what the next dev stream has to say about this.
Your narrative falls apart when you consider that many of the killers in the tournament also had 3k and 4ks. Oni and Pig got 3Ks the meg only escaped through the hatch. In one match the Pig got a 4K.
You win some, you lose some. That's how it's always been. Don't try to pretend that killers are innately disadvantaged. They aren't.
You can stop spreading the BS.

Even with the desync issues I can barely catch up to or hit any survivors. Killers feel like they have a ball and chain wrapped around their feet and are so slow. After getting infinite looped for awhile I just stopped and let the survivors just go. Of course they decided to taunt and tbag and wouldn’t leave. Once the desync issues are fixed honestly survivors have nothing to complain about. Most Killers have to go hard and aggressive right from the get go or else get gen rushed before they even find someone. Most killers seem to have been nerfed to the point you can just laugh at them, which now most survivors do. It’s just depressing really the sorry state of this game. Nothing about the Killers feels right and I can’t even get one kill lately. If the survivors are only halfway decent they can run roughshot over killers. I was mostly a survivor main but have been trying out killer lately. It’s not fun really. Just stressful and all around toxic.
That's just you being bad at killer.
Survivors have never "mostly won" at this game survivors have always been at best like 50% survive ratio and that's only gotten worse with time.
If you are not good at the game and the enemy is better of course they will run circles around you. It's not the survivors having a mechanical advantage. You are just facing people better at the game than you are. If you come across a team that is not as good as you are the complete opposite will happen they will go down like flies.
There is no such thing as an "infinite loop" BHVR removed those a long time ago. There aren't even that many god loops left in the game almost all of them can be played around with perks like Bamboozle, and you have things like Bloodlust and entity blocking. BL was nerfed to oblivion so no more god loops on Haddonfield and Hawkins.
You have all the tools at your disposal to catch survivors. All you need, is the skill to do so.
-
That's happened to me a dozen times in a row. It happens sometimes.
Your teammates don't need further punishing. They are already now 3v1 to the killer with 4 generators left most likely. They will get what's coming to them.

I didnt start playing until a few weeks after slinger was released. From my understanding, old Bnp just completely finished a gen? And if that's true, how did they think that was a good idea to begin with
Here's something a lot of people today don't get.
The equivalent of Moris is not Keys. It is BNP.
BNP used to complete a gen instantly. Done. Period. Install and gen is done! It completes the survivor objective instantly. That is why it is the direct equivalent of Moris which skip a lot of the nonsense in killing a survivor. You just kill them instantly!
That's why this nonsense about keys getting nerfed after the mori nerf is ridiculous. BNPs got nerfed into oblivion ages ago it's only fair that Moris also get nerfed into oblivion.
-
It's just toxic killer behavior.
A lot of killers like to rag on survivors for teabagging, this is the killer equivalent.
-
Why don't you apply for a job at BHVR and add DLSS 2.0 to the game. It's easy so you can do it. I believe in you.
-
While I agree that merciless is a little harsh for the achievement, the real question is why are you so concerned over achievements. They are meaningless.
-
So easy. Why don't you apply for a job at BHVR and do it for all of us. Take one for the team man.
-
Rank means something. While it's true that you will find skilled players at low ranks and bad players at high ranks, rank is a pretty good indicator of skill. That's because consistently good people will be in the high ranks and consistently bad people will be in the low ranks.

So I’ve been playing this game since November. I’m a surv main. And do pretty good at it rank 3. I’ve tried killer once and idk why it’s so hard. And get discouraged. Any tips?
Running the game as killer is very different from survivor.
- Tracking is something totally different and not a skill survivors learn.
- Second the loops are in reverse. Learn how to counter the shack loop first of all because that is going to wreck you if the survivor knows what he's doing and you don't.
- Third try not to get into the habit of camping, but learn when and how to slug and camp when needed. They are still really powerful strategies. Getting a basement hook is huge and is enough to win you the game if you play cheap, but you not going to get better at the game doing that.
- Later on you should learn how to let go of a chase when you've gotten good at the game. But at first keep at the chase until you get it. You will learn a lot that way even if you are outclassed and the survivor loops you around for minutes.

Last one for tonight but I've had about three games so far where I've unhooked survivors safe, healed survivors safe, took hits, finished gens with and without resilience, took chase for at least two gens and yes I said only two gens I'm still fairly new to the game and I know how killers feel about gen rushing so I've been doing totems, opened both gates at end game to help out injured survivors I mean anything you can name I've done and I find myself getting hooked one time and getting left behind and finding out I had about thirty something odd points while my teammates had less then twenty should I start being selfish when the exit gates open and just leave or should I be more patience?
Leave if you want.
I don't leave because I stopped playing to "win" a long time ago. There's fun to be had trying to rescue everyone to the last minute. Some of the most fun and hectic points of a game happen in endgame when you try to rescue the last guy from the killer. Succeed or die it's fun.

Do you know how big 20-30m is? Gunslinger can't even shoot you 20m away. Imagine if he could shoot 30m- that's way to long. Also, a freeze is not a good idea, but a slowdown could work to ensure it only gets one person.
Also, as others have noted, this is abusable. A survivor ensuring that gens can be freely done by looping them within that distance means that they would be able to free the person after all gens are done, with bt, and if they are good they could both escape.
This is just not a good idea.
Easy fix:
Hook timer stops if killer is in hooked radius.
If another person shows up and killer gets in chase hook timer resumes.

I went between a rank 3 and 4, now rank reset has put me at a rank 8 with survivors between rank 10 and rank 16, at rank 3 and 4 I probably won like 60% of my games because the other survivors at that rank knew how to rotate, they knew how to run the killer, they just knew how to play the game, now at rank 8 I've been winning about 30% of my games. I mean these lower ranks are terrible what's even worse is their putting us against between rank 3 and 1, now how in the hell is that even remotely fair
If you can't get out of low ranks that is your true ability.
Even with potato survivors from the low ranks if you are actually good you will rank up without even trying. If you can't get out of Rank 8 that's your true ability, bug/rank reset or not.
I am back in purple after deranking from the bug. I'm not even playing to win I'm just running Santa Claus builds and wasting the first two minutes of each match opening chests.
-
I never seen anyone rage quit to a Pyramid Head. Even if PH is pretty strong once you know how to use him.
Biggest advice for both of these killers.... don't go for sloppy ranged hits. If it's not a good shot don't do it.

@dspaceman20 said:
I feel horders should get a buff and not make it basically a survivor perk. I feel even if it reduced the rarity of items in the chest it will still be lack luster.
Hoarders
You protect what little you have and are perceptive to those rummaging through your stockpiles.
When a survivor gains a item from a chest their location will be revealed ever 30/25/20 seconds if they are holding the item or if the item they haves have charges.
Considerably decrease the chances of getting an item of a high rarity.
How is this idea?
If it reduced rarity as advertised that's more than enough. I mean it was obviously put in to counter Elodie's Appraisal, which makes it too easy to fish keys. The perk serves as a counter to key fish builds... not that anyone would ever run it even if it were to do its job.
Key fish builds aren't common and make the game easier for killer anyway.
-
Hag and Bill.
-
Hahah funny how I felt like doing killer challenges when the killer queues got worse.
I'm a masochist like that.
-
Unless you built specifically to fish keys you aren't getting a key.
Surely you know that.
I mean sure you might get lucky but that's probably a 4% chance of fishing a key at that stage. If even that. With the proper build fishing a key is about 50% chance per match. Without it good luck.
This is the smart play for survivors. Hide, hope other guy gets caught first, then make a play for the hatch. Even then the odds are against you killer has a much better chance of finding the hatch, and then you're dead. That's hwy it's acceptable to have the key so the survivor has a 4% chance of surviving.

Insidious, trail of torment, tinkerer, there are a whole bunch of perks that can remove the heartbeat. You need to keep your eyes open as well as your ears. Dont blame the Killer for that.
I don't blame killer.
I blame BHVR.
Killers are better at stealth than survivors are.... in a game which is supposed to be hide and seek with the killer being it and the survivors hiding!
-
Well once I'm done doing my Killer quests I'm back to Survivor where the queues are instant.
-
The bug is awesome! I wish it were more severe so I would derank some more.
-
At least BHVR recognizes that their skills are lacking. They know they can't do difficult things.
Unfortunately that's also why they never got better at making games.

If the Spirit is winning against survivors running Iron Will and she's not running Stridor, those survivors are complete potatoes.
Even semi competent survivors in this scenario would trash a Spirit. This turns every Spirit play into her guessing.
Can you still 4k the majority of your matches even at rank 1 without Stridor and them running Iron Will? Of course.
This doesn't descredit my first two statements because the majority of the survivor player base is potatoes.
It's like saying I can 4k regularly at rank 1 with Clown using no perks or addons. Does this mean Clown is strong? No, it just means most people aren't good. Even a semi decent team would destroy this.
People get disillusioned by kill rates and misinterpret what they convey. IE correlation vs causation.
I love how killer mains on this board can 4K Rank 1 survivors because "majority" of survivor players are potatos.
But then complain how DS is unfair, UB is unfair, DH is unfair, 4 gens finish before 2nd hook, can't win unless survivor make mistakes, so hard can't play yada yada.

Pull a samantha and get 2k headphones, equip spacial sounds and crank the volume all the way up. Then you might not need stridor.
As for everyone else, Stridor is a very good pick as sounds in this game really do not work, especially on the reworked maps.
LOL at people needign to buy 2k Audeze Headphones for Spirit. You will be fine with cheap $10 headphones. I say this as an LCD3 owner.

Just annoyed, ran into 3 spirits today already. I only ran into like 3 spirits the entire time I was slumming in Green for a week.

Now I know many people hate spirit stridor but the amount of iron will players I've tan into in my week of playing spirit is insane at least 23 and iron will is almost the equivalent of calm spirit vs doc so stridor is almost nessciary to play iron will players because you can't even track them by breathing with iron will
Edit for clarification its almost needed it's not vs people that dont run iron will but foot steps are quiet unless they are running on wood and I would agree on just using scratch Mark's but half the time they go off in a direction they the surivor didn't go so i dont trust them
You mean like how versing Spirit requires Iron Will?
Tough luck.

Do you think survivors will just run around when they get unhooked trying to bait the killer into chasing them?
Will they do objectives and deactivate the perk and complain about tunnel and make forums posts about it? (this is not a insult or complain, i am pretty sure it will be a thing)
remove it entirely from their builds?
How do you think this change will affect the game?
Nothing is going to change. The meta will still be DS/UB/DH/BT. The only difference is killers will now complain about some other aspect of those four perks.
As long as Camping, Tunneling and Slugging remain powerful strategies three of those perks will always be meta and DH will always be meta because every other Exhaustion perk is niche.

I got all my survivor and killer rift tasks done so I've just been waiting for Level 2 to be released with just my daily tasks to give me purpose. Maybe I shouldn't do these tasks because they're always on my non-Prestige 3 characters with less than optimum perks.
I've been trying to get Kate to survive to open an exit gate, but the first match had 2 survivors crouching across the map (I saw this from the start with my Bond), allowing the 4th survivor to get to the second hook stage and then left me to die on my second hook so they could get the hatch together because one of them brought a key (I didn't notice this).
Game 2: I brought a key and decided I was going to be selfish and play like those other survivors. Except every time the killer saw me, they stopped everything they were doing and tunneled me to take the key out of the match. And the window hits have never felt worse than they did with this update with this Blight.
I'm trying to find the point in playing this game if all I do is wait for more rift tasks. It just feels like all the good players have left the game, and all we're left with are crappy survivors who don't do crap in this game.
git gud.
Also you are not supposed to be successful 100% of the time. This is true of any online multiplayer game.
When doing "escape with" or "Open exit gate" or "Relic Veneration" quests sometiems I get it in 1 go, sometimes it takes 5 tries. That's how it is. Don't let it get to you.

This is not Happening still looks useless. :P

Consider it's hands down the worst of all realms?
Probably because it's too much work to rework. Rotten Fields, the only map people really have a problem with, has pretty much nothing in it so that's a lot of work to rework.
-
Ah I see. LOL well then it is junk then. It would still counter me because I fish keys all game if killer wants to play chest defense I am dead. But then he'd be throwing the game.
-
If ruin stayed up the whole game then you should be happy. You should have won that,, it's very rare that a survivor team can do all 5 gens if ruin is not taken out. A competent killer can defend the gens as long as they aren't a low mobility killer and weren't screwed by map RNG.
Ruin + Pop gives you a one two pop. Ruin screws survivors in the early game and Pop screws survivors in the end game.
Wasted perk slot?
Welcome to Survivor life. Survivors routinely waste tons of perk slots most of the time. Many survivor perks, even the meta ones like DS and Unbreakable, never have a chance to proc in a regular match.
-
Really? Could have sworn the perk reduced item rarity in all chests.

So I was waiting in a lobby as killer, I check the profiles of the survivors in the lobby and find out 2 Meg and a Dwight were in a SWF. I decide to play anyway because I couldn't be bothered to wait for another lobby. Just 1 second before the match starts 1 of the Meg in that SWF switches to a full toxic-mode Nea with the classic bright costume and pick hair with a flashlight with the obvious intent to bully low rank killers abusing the SWF ranking system (I just returned after a 3 years break and I am currently playing in green ranks). On top of that, as I discovered at the end, he was the one responsible for us to end up on Ormond using an Ormond offering.
The match starts and, being pretty pissed about that Nea's behaviour, I decide to purposefully tunnel his other 2 friends to death until, after several missed flashlight saves and clicks done with the sole purpose of trying to annoy me, he decides to DC out of the match. After killing the 4th random and seeying the post game chat the Nea writes that I should unistall the game and that he Dc'ed in order to not give me any points. He obviously didn't realized my toxic behaviour was due to his last second switch and I decided to not even reply to him.
Now, I'm not here to discuss about the rampant toxic and shameful state this game has unfortunately been stuck in for years but just to ask why the ######### are survivors still allowed to last second switch into other characters with different equipment while killers to not able to change killer during a lobby anymore? Why did they add this restriction only for killers and not for survivors as well?
Why is hidden killer spying on survivors before the game still allowed?
You want to remove survivor switching show us the killer in the lobby.
You are checking profiles when you play DBD. I mean what the hell man. Some killers are just absolutely neurotic.
-
Chest content rarity takes a hit so you have a far less chance of pulling a key.
-

3:34:15 , the pig match. This match shows why dbd is still not ready as a game and for it's mechanics. Pig is too weak of a killer, and with only a dash that can't counter pre dropped pallets and big loops the gens just fly very fast to 2 gens until traps (RNG based) don't do enough because you're not gonna use all of them before the exit gates get powered.
To conclude devs, I'd balance the weakest killers and nerf the really op perks before even doing a tournament
Pig wiped the floor with those survivors though. Only the meg got away and she only did because she fished a key.
While you are absolutely correct that DBD is not a game that will ever be ready for competitive play, Pig a "weak" killer was more than strong enough to massacre the survivor team.
