You can't bless a hex perk. They've said it multiple times. In order to activate your boon you have to find a dull totem.
Edit: Nevermind, I read some of the comments. That's stupid that they can bless your hex. You shouldn't be allowed to do that.
It really doesn't matter in all honesty.
If they weren't going to bless it, they'd be destroying it and you'd lose it anyway.
It takes just as long to bless as it does to break a totem, maybe even longer.

adding more objectives to the killer. thats what they do.
they might not even be worth doing, especially if they work how expected, within a radius of the totem, imagine going out of your way to cleanse something that has an AOE lmao

@HealsBadMan said:
Really?
Boons can be put on Dull or Hex Totems, while Killers have no way of reigniting or helping their Hexes. Perks like Plaything or NOED are just SOL, why cleanse when you could just bring a Boon and screw the Killer over twice as much?
I knew Boons would be horrible for Killer but I didn't think they'd be a straight up FU.
If they weren't blessing the totem then they'd straight up just destroy it anyway?
Ofcourse killers are looking for any reason to be angry at everything even when they don't even know what it'll do, sounds about dbd.

Is the custom music for killers still something you guys are looking at? It seems like we had a couple more, but now you guys don't really full rework killers and it feels like the rest of the cast may mis out on custom music.

Oh no, the survivor might opent the hatch in your face, how horrible, who cares bro.

I am not happy with the slap to the face of my new found favorite slinger. I understand the nerf to zoning ability but why the rest? He has -20 map pressure so he relies on fast chases....Not to sure on how this will effect him....Yes i am.
Love the Plague changes though real excited about this. I have been using her more frequent of late so great timing.
Built to last - No way this stays this way.....Going to be way to OP. Flashlights, Med-kits, Toolboxes reloading twice after using (99% then 66+33% = another 99). Yikes.
Where the Fire-up Buff at? or MS? geez guys.
The amount of time you'd have to spend in a locker for all those things to be replenished though, it's not that great.

Do survivors find it fun to stand around at a gate instead of leaving dragging a game out for longer?
Impossible for survivors to all be standing in the exit game for anything more than 2 minutes, especially when a killer can just hold W and force them out, making this comparison is so obtuse because they aren't even close to the same thing but what can we really expect from this forum?
Darn, survivors stood in the exit gates for maybe 2 minutes, better make a match last 30 minutes and just continously slug over and over again 🙃

Or at least weaken the offering like slightly increase hook distance is Purple on survivor, but decrease one is Yellow on killer?
Impossible skill check is a pain, mainly it prolong the game way too much. Jump scare is fun

The idea of giving only generic map offering is brilliant. Indoor, outdoor, license, original.
Though all license maps arent as good as original.
Killers have 3 different types of oaks. Putrid, Rotten & Mouldy. Purple, Green & Yellow.
what also matters is that survivors have a significant higher amount of purple items on their bloodwebs so are going to see the purple oak a signifcantly lower amount of times anyway, and like honestly why does anyone care, I can't remember the last time I saw oaks being used, let alone used prolifically enough for them to be an issue,

Let me guess: They don't use Spine Chill?
Any stealth based build becomes ez to counter with that perk. I use it constantly since 2.5 years and it's a lot more than the "I'm a Blendette perk". It helps vs Tinkerer, Surveillance, the Spirit, moonwalking etc.
And positioning is very important VS a mirror Myers (even with SC) since you'll need time to react. Listening to his Darth Vader breathing, looking around constantly (aka "rubbing a hole in your desk with your mouse") and not sitting at places where you can't see ######### are a good start. Playing MM is a good way to understand where he can ambush you and where he can't. I never understood the problem with Mirror Myers. Even back then, when Spine Chill etc did not work at all in EWI.
Whats your point here exactly?
Killers want to complain every hour of every day that survivors run meta perks, but then when they aren't running meta perks, they are told they should run meta perks to avoid certain niche builds?
nice, run meta perks, complain, don't run meta perks, get told to run them.
-
Why do people always recommend losing pips for DCing, you must have to be pretty disconnected to the games community to think anyone cares even a little bit about pips, they have been useless (and still are) for years now. I have always been rank 1, but I have also never cared a single time that I've lost pips, and none of my friends have either.
-
So survivors shouldn't be allowed map offerings for niche builds that rarely show up. but it's completely ok for killers to do that so they can run their niche builds on a map that makes it incredibly strong and often quite obnoxious to play against?
I know personally of a lot of people that hate mirrors myers honestly.

Seems like the trend of killers being utterly incapable of seeing killer characters get buffed and only hyper focusing on nerfs as if that's the only thing in a patch is still on going.

Regarding the new Tension Springs for trapper.. survivors can't currently sabotage traps, so when the trapper puts traps in front of the exit door levers - what is the counter play? Get trapped, escape, 2 seconds later get trapped again, over and over until the killer gets you?
It's for stepped in traps only, not disabled traps.

Same. "BTW we changed some other stuff, but let's move on for now :) :) :)" is the strategy they use when they've made unpopular changes and they don't want to showcase them because they know people will get mad.

What point did I miss? Or do you just say that when something is provably against what you say?

"Nothing you've mentioned is a 'meta perk' meta perks are perks that are used often."
Wrong. Meta: Most Effective Tactic Available. Popular perks are not meta perks by definition. In a lot of other games, the most popular build IS the meta build. But that doesnt mean the most popular build is meta by default.
Yes, it does, it speeds up totems. In fact, when there is a hex totem, counter force is the best perk to remove that totem as you can hear hex totems. Next to that, small game doesnt work well when there is more than 1 floor, as it triggers on totems below the floor and above the ceiling too.
Soul Guard literally allows you to be picked up in front of the killer without your recovery bar being reset(aka, slugged again), which is common when a killer is slugging. You dont need an active totem for soul guard to work. It's endurance effect guarantees a pick up, where unbreakable does not. The reason it sucks, is because either a killer isnt slugging, or teammates refuse to pick you up.
Lol is not a counter argument
Built To Last adds 50% extra charges to commodius toolbox, purple medkit, resets keys that can no longer open hatches into keys that can. Also, you're not seeing Blood Amber often anymore, because the devs changed the keys into being unable to open the hatch if it has 0 charges. Since Blood Amber increases charge usage(lowers the key from 30 seconds to 20 seconds), its harder to 99 the charges. If more people were aware of how Built To Lasts works with Blood Amber and keys, you'd be seeing them a lot more often.
Thing is, people in DBD dont really need to care about what perks are meta. They have to care about what vanilla mechanics are meta and counter that. Tunneling is the meta killer tactic, DS, DH and BT counter that. Rushing gens is the meta survivor tactic(rushing gens is not a genrush, btw), so generator slowdown perks are used to counter that.
Essentially, the most popular perks tend to counter the vanilla meta of the opponent, rather than being the actual meta of the player.
imagine googling what meta means lmaoooooooo.
Med kits are by far the best way to heal, they aren't meta though, despite being "Most effective tactic available"
Keys are also the strongest item in the game, still aren't meta though because they aren't used that often.
BNPs are the fastest way to get generators completed, somehow despite being the most effective thing, still aren't what any player considers meta, because they aren't used enough to be considered meta.
gg, didn't even read your post after the first sentence because it's full of not understanding what meta in dbd actually means going purely by the first sentence.
-
Why do people always act in the comment section like playing killer is some giga-brain task that takes 180+ iq to play? It's laughable whenever I see people "Well survivors can't handle doing to much, unlike me, a killer that also holds W & presses M1 occasionally".
Like lets not pretend the gameplay is so different you need a PHD to play one while you can play the other as a kindergartener.

Idk, there have been some meta perks that were added, that simply arent used because either the killer meta changed a bit, or because people are too used to the old meta perks.
Counterforce is one of the best perks to get rid of ruin undying(and even noed), its just unused.
Soul Guard is one of the best perks to prevent slugging, it's just unused(it's objectively better than Unbreakable with the killer meta being mainly around Ruin)
Resurgence is one of the best anti tunnel perks if you heal under the hook. BT is only outshining it if you get camped and tunneled, but DS is a better anti-tunnel perk.
Built to Last, THE best perk to run if you have an item. Fully counters Franklins Demise, gives you the ability to fully use up a key and still open a hatch, makes strong items even stronger. Better than Adrenaline at any time of the day.
There are enough new meta perks that can be run, its just that most people have access to old meta perks, dont want to waste BP unlocking the newer perks and dont want to spend time learning how to use the new perks. Why learn how to use 4 new meta perks if there are 7 meta perks you know how to run comfortably? Desperate Measures is overall better than Botany Knowledge unless you're using a medkit(2 stacks are enough that unhooking and healing is faster than unhooking and healing with BK), yet people still use Botany Knowledge because they think it's better, yet you cannot unhook a survivor in the face of a killer and dead hard away with the unhooked survivor tanking the hit with BT unless you run Desperate Measures.
It's why you see veteran survivors run newer perks more than casual survivors. Veteran survivors tend to see the value in newer perks, where casual survivors think the meta perks are the best because everyone runs it.
Nothing you've mentioned is a 'meta perk' meta perks are perks that are used often.
Counterforce doesn't do anything you can't really already do with small game.
Soul Guards "anti slugging" ability relies entirely on the killer having an active totem, other than that, it's an incredibly niche perk where I've only seen it work because the survivor has forced it to work (Unbreakable infront of the killer)
Resurgance? lol
and built to last again, not even close to meta, to you it's meta because it trumps franklins but then it's only meta (like soul guard) if the killer is using a specific perk (still not meta anyway) and who actually uses key charges? I don't think I've seen a single person run addons to on keys other than the keep on death / use addons.
none of these perks are even close to being meta and rely on niche circumstances which in my opinion completely void them being 'meta'
-
I remember thinking "Wow, a killer that can bounce off walls, the devs really are out of ideas". How bloody wrong was I.

They don't, fixing them is EXTREMELY simple.
Make hatch spawn once all 5 gens are finished or only 1 survivor alive. Simple number change just like mories.
Perfect fix for now, no premature escaping the match just like no premature kills with mories.
Except it isn't, Sony & MS are very strict with Trophy / Achievement changes and this would completely break an achievement and make it unobtainable, it's not as simple as you want to pretend it is.
Edit - I'm dumb and this comment is incorrect :)
-
Survivors literally haven't had a meta perk since Dead Hard, besides an OP perk Mettle of Man, which was swiftly nerfed.
Survivors don't really get anything strong added to the game so I don't see boons being strong, let alone OP.
-
@RaSavage42 said:
Also do totems cause chances are that that killer might be running NOED... plus boldness points
Can't really do 5 gens and find 5 totems in the time it takes a survivor to die unless you get really lucky with totem placement

So you ruined everyone's match instead probably pissed off since they just witnessed a killer win by just absolutely doing nothing and be a massive D the entire match?
Hell yeah.
But in all seriousness I understand that you want to save someone barred from playing but you have to understand you're not saving anyone from a face camping leatherface on a basement. You get what I mean? You made everyone on the entire survivor team eat dirt while the killer is gleeful that his dumb strat got him a 4K probably even a bunch of a salty comments in the post chat too since the killer revels in Survivor misery. He's off to do the same thing in another match again since he gets rewarded for it immensely.
Willing to throw a match does not mean the match will always be thrown, I think you looked into that comment far too deeply.
-
@GentlemanFridge said:
Do you mean (teachable) perks? All killer offerings can be obtained by all killers from the get-go.
Or do you mean a shared inventory?
I think they mean offerings in general (maps/bp/mories) etc.
So instead of each killer having their own pool of offerings, the offering pool is shared across everyone.
-
People in here implying survivors are 'greedy' trying to save from a camping killer, I don't give a toss about points, I do however care that you're preventing someone from being able to play, or at least that's you goal, so yes, I'm willing to throw a match to at least try and get a camped survivor some extra play time.

I thought MoM was meta for a bit? And if they make them anything like the good hex totems they could quickly become problematic.
MoM should never have been in the game the strength that it was and was heavily nerfed into uselessness within a month or two i can't remember, it only recently became usable some time within the last year when they updated protection hits but it definitely isn't meta, it may have been for a little bit but why does that matter.
-
@C3Tooth said:
What I think about Boon.
- Killer have nothing to do with it. Not able to touch or anything
- Require a dull totem to make it work.
- It will be powerful, but only work for a limited of time, then either the perk disable or you have to re-activate again
- Since there are only 5 totems with 20 perks. A Killer can disable survivors ability to use Boon, by using Hex perk, since they always activated in the beginning.
- Since Boon exist, Survivor tend to leave 1-2 dulls incase their team mate using Boon. Noed may come in handy
The Pinhead update already confirmed Killers can interact with them as it added a tool tip in the Tutorial area about it

She's a good killer. She actually got quite a good map because of how loud the footsteps are. It's just facing a Spirit where you can't tell when she's using her power or not lol
I'm not sure if the game I first mentioned was her but if it was then we nearly faced her 4 times last night lol in a 2 man swf game a survivor dc'ed in the loading screen before we faced her. Also after the match you saw we got her again in the next lobby lol mate wanted to dodge so we did.
From what I hear she's a tournament killer? I have no idea exactly so please let me know. Guess we both know roughly what our MMR ratings are lol
if it's the spirit I think it is she's no longer a tournament player because she got banned as she was the only player that wouldn't prove she wasn't cheating, she would never let others watch her discord, just another cheater, the one who used to brag about her expensive headset on steam? lmao

Use a website like https://www.steamidfinder.com/ to find their actual account number.
You can have a vanity URL on steam and this is why their URL is a name because that's what they've set their Vanity As
For example my steam account is
https://steamcommunity.com/id/SeanzuDuck/, so putting SeanzuDuck into steamidfinder will give me this
steamID64 (DEC) is the one you want to grab or "profile" and the link following that.
-
Gold 1 Is Was Rank 5, seeing as Grades have been out a couple of days now and you can't de-grade it's safe to bet these people are probably around your grade but have played more.
Additionally you don't start at the bottom of MMR on any killer, if BHVR are competent they have an MMR system that levels faster with the killer you're using but slowly levels the others because after all 90% of killer is all the same, the 10% is the power, it's ridiculous to assume you'd be completely usless as killer if you've played hundreds of hours in other killers.
Sorry that you didn't get the win handed to you on your first match with a new killer.

This is the answer.
I read that their upcoming changes to keys will now allow survivors to earn them during a match just by playing well. I wonder how they’re going to screw that up.
As others have said, they could have made changes to the hatch or only allow one person to escape with a key when they nerfed Moris, but that would upset their cash cows so the opted to just nerf moris.
Reading this is funny because it's the complete opposit, the devs stated in the anniversary stream that killers will be able to earn their mories and didn't mention keys even once, kinda of crazy how someone twisted what the devs have said to swap mories to keys.
If they make keys earnable we'll see how it goes but they directly said mories would be earnable, not keys.
