    im working on a gen

David comes up to the gen and misses a skill check, dead hards away, fast vaults a window and jumps in a locker. I couldn’t stop laughing even though I got so annoyed by it 😌

That guy seriously had a panic attack because he missed a single skill check, lol. Solo que really is a blessing and a curse... Mostly a curse but oh well.

I think you didn't do justice to a lot of killers. The ones that bugs me most are: Blight isn't S tier, you have to be map independent to be S tier which Blight definitely isn't, especially with his many collision bugs. Billy is definitely not as good as you give him credit, he can rarely use his chainsaw against good loopers who know how to play around his power and even in an open area his chainsaw is not too hard to dodge.

I agree. I think people tend to massively overrate how strong Blight is. Yes, he's incredibly powerful and makes the average killer look like a bad joke. Still, he has too much counterplay to be S tier like Nurse and Spirit. At least, in my opinion. Especially when you take into account just how map dependant he can be. Indeed on some maps, he essentially just turns into an M1 killer with mobility. While that may not sound too bad on paper, if he can't get hits with his power then gens will fly against decent players. He's strong but he's in the A tier I feel, even with J-flicking taken into account.

listen. if the forums burn down over the existence of this for another couple months i'm going to be so bored. every thread is already killer mains vs survivor mains tearing each other down over minor things, i don't need to see more ammo for that war.

    "BuT iT's NoT iNtEnDeD!1!!!"

"bUt NoNiNtEnTiOnAl StUfF aLwAyS bEcOmEs TeCh!1!1!!"

    🙄

It's always been this way, lol. It's an asymmetrical game so when people predominantly play one side, they can become susceptible to tribalism. 'The other side is bad and are always favoured by the devs! What? They nerfed the other side last week? Shut up! You're just a stupid survivor/killer main'. We humans love our Us vs thems after all, or at least, some do. I for one, hope these new flicks stay. Knowing this community and the Dev team though, it's likely that they'll remove them. After about 2 or 3 months of the forums going up in flames that is.

  • @deckyr said:

so they fixed j flick, then made it doable on console, and now it's a technique instead of a bug

cool. we got the true ending.

I mean, the Devs haven't actually said if the 90 + 90 flick is intentional or not yet. They might just leave it now as it's performable on console and PC but who knows.

  • @Relix said:

I never understood that. Why should a perk like surge have a cooldown? Whats the point of it? Pop, for exemple has no cooldown and much bigger instant regression on a generator.

I dont really get that. What do you think about? (No mad survivors main ty)

I think there's a cooldown because otherwise, a good Nurse, Oni etc, could get a slugging spree going rather easily and essentially murder the gens in the process. It would be literally impossible to survive against a Good Nurse with Surge and ruin combined. I definitely think Surge needs a buff of some sort but there's a cooldown for a reason.

  • Personally, I just wish they’d revert the changes to grass on the updated maps. Trapper used to be so fun but now he just feels really frustrating. The grass doesn’t even hide his traps at all for survivors playing on low settings. Really frustrating. Such a bizarre decision considering that they’re essentially nerfing an already meh killer for no apparent reason. The new grass doesn’t even look better in my opinion. Just feels like a huge middle finger to Trapper tbh. I know that they’re never going to actually revert the change to grass. All I can hope for at this point is that maybe they’ll give him a substantial buff/rework sometime soon.

  • @Wolfven said:

So I had a game on Midwich. The killer was a Ghost Face throwing Huntress hatchets, Teleporting, Clipping through levels (flying) and the M1 hits with crazy speed (x10 times faster than normal).

The killer brought all the survivors to the roof of the map and also outside the boundary of the exit gates.

What is this? Has anyone else experienced this?

An exploit is using unintended mechanics to gain an advantage. e.g. J-flicking, breakdown exploit (This has been patched now). What you have just described is a hacking. They’re not manipulating unintended mechanics for an advantage, they’re fundamentally warping the game by meddling with the game’s code. In some instances, they may also be using other external software for an advantage.

  • @ShamelessPigMain said:

I feel like forcing survivors to drop their items is kind of like petty theft, but at the same time, keys exist so it's kind of necessary. So what's the general consensus of Franklin's Demise? Toxic or a necessary evil?

It’s annoying sure, but anyone who says it’s toxic, has no idea what actual ‘toxicity’ is.

  • I’ve got nothing better to do, I’d probably still read a long list, lol.

  • Personally, I think the game is developer sided. They get to make changes and add new characters and we don’t!? Disgraceful stuff, really truly unfair. I say, we should all be made paid members of Behaviour, even if you only have 2 minutes of experience in the game.

  • @Pulsar said:

    Pick rates, yes.

Kill rates, no. Those are unusable because we have no way of knowing all the variables.

I mean, if we’re informed as to the variables then it might be useful to see kill rates. For example, what was the avg amount of pallets spawned? Avg amount of windows? Etc etc

  • @kassamell said:

i have played against many killers with a flashlight and usually used the flashlight to help my teammates when the killer picks them up, or when i throw down a pallet, and we win. so why do i get called trashy when i do use perks like a key or flashlight.

Well for keys, they’re probably just saying it out of frustration as truthfully, keys are rather unhealthy in their current state. They allow for underserved escapes and can sometimes be used to sandbag the team e.g. by using the key in the Killer’s face when your teammates need your help.

As for Flashlights, I’m unsure why you’re getting called ‘trashy’ however, I do agree with the sentiment that flashlights are bad. Oftentimes, people with flashlights will follow the killer so that they can get a save when the Killer downs someone. As such, flashlight saves are extremely predictable and it is often the Killer’s fault for allowing a flashlight save to happen. Usually when I see a flashlight in my lobby, I know that it will be an easy game for me if I’m the killer and a really tough game if I’m a survivor (because the flashlight user will likely ignore gens to try and get saves, thereby wasting time).

  • Wglf would also be buffed btw. I don’t like that new players, particularly new Killer players, are essentially forced to buy Leatherface and use BBQ consistently to deal with the ridiculous grind.

Survivors also need help as they are completely shafted when it comes to Bloodpoints. They need more by default, whether the devs do the perma double bp idea or not.

  • FYI: I don’t think good ol’ pp head is A tier material. His power is incredibly predictable for good survivors which means all he has is his ability to fake out his power to force lose lose situations. The DS nerf also stole some of his thunder as now every killer can tunnel with less risk. The cages are still nice timesavers but aren’t as impactful as they once were. Furthermore, he lacks any mobility which means that on some maps, you will simply lose no matter what you do.

Anyways, I think A tier is a good spot to aim for balance as typically, the killers in the A tier are very strong and have potential against even good teams, but still have counterplay that Survivors can act upon. Unlike the S tier, which typically houses killers who lack counterplay or who are countered by just blind guesses (I’m looking at you, SPIRIT).

If we were counting fire up as a second chance perk then wouldn't coup de grace also need to be included? They both provide a benefit for losing gens.

As much as I've ranted about how the base FOV for this game is abysmal, and BHVR are insane for thinking a game mechanic like FOV should still be tied to a perk slot and not in the options menu in the year 2021...I still refuse to give in to the drug. I will NOT be persuaded!

Come on... Give in to your desire for a reasonable FOV. Think about the feeling of speed too. You know you want to. It is waiting for you. All you need to do is to give it a go. It is your destiny.

  • @ALostPuppy said:

Swap out NOED with tinkerer and you now have the best Blight build. NOED is a terrible perk, ESPECIALLY on a killer like Blight where you'll be getting a lot of your hits with your power, which doesn't count as a basic attack.

Or if you wanted to do something that's actually fun on Blight, I run BBQ, Endfury and Agitation. You could swap agi for a game delay perk like pop if you're not comfortable running no slowdowns on him, but when you do I recommend going for a fun 4th perk because Blight doesn't need slowdown.

You seem to be missing Shadowborn in your build. That is quite the mistake. I would recommend you rectify it soon.

They're not banning for it. It doesn't mean you should use it, but still.

Oh no I was just mostly joking. I’ve seen some of the discussions surrounding J flicks and oh boy, people do not take kindly to anyone who uses them. Understandable to be sure. Nonetheless, it’s not unreasonable to think they might be harassed for admitting to using it. I’m mostly joking but it’s definitely possible on these forums, lol.

  • @DatFastBoi said:

I really really, miss dead by daylight and i'm afraid that i'm gonna forget about this game and I don't want too or else it's gonna be like Deathgarden and I can't deny it. • @AnimeChannelDE said:

As you guys maybe know playing killer is frustrating thing and no fun at all. Thats why it's annoying to have killer only challenges in the Tome.

So my Idea is to integrate Challenges for both Sides in one. For example: You click on Challenge A and it says: "Break 10 Pallets // Repair 5 Generators". It doesn't matter what you do from this 2 in 1 Challenges but when you finish one of this the other part of the challenge is disabled and you can claim your rewards (Rift Fragments & Bloodpoints).

That would be cool I guess but you do realise that you don’t need to play Killer right? You clearly don’t enjoy it. If you play enough then you probably should be able to complete the rift with just Survivor challenges. Nonetheless, your change would be a welcome edition to the game.

  • @Barbarossa2020 said:

Any chance that when you complete a older challenge from one of the previous tomes, that when you go to select a new one it takes you to the completed one first.

I know that it does it for the current tome, but not previous ones, which can lead to endless scrolling to attempt to find it.

Just a small quality of life change.

I’m kind of baffled that it isn’t already this way. I would be quite happy to see this myself.

  • @LapisInfernalis said:

Could someone please explain what a jflick is? I am not sure if I know what it is, because I'm not so familiar with these shortenings.

Nevertheless I think Blight is fine. What you say sounds more like the normal Spirit/Freddy is OP post and not one for Blight.

A J-flick (Japanese flick) is an exploit that allows a Blight player to exceed the intended 90 degree flick and go for 180s and beyond. Having a higher DPI makes J-flicking much more consistent but it is worthy to note that it is possible to J-flick at any DPI. Please keep in mind that ‘flicking’ doesn’t necessarily mean the Killer is J-flicking. 90 degree flicks are completely intended, whereas J-flicks are not. Some have argued that because J-flicks have counterplay and increase the skill cap of the killer that they should stay, whereas others would argue that J-flicks are exploits and should therefore be removed. Regardless of if they have counterplay or not. The devs have all but confirmed that they’re removing J-flicks so you could argue that the debate is rendered pointless now but I’ll leave that up to you to decide. Hope this cleared up any confusion.

  • @skyguys said:

Killers, of course, would be more than delighted unless the No Mithers intend to abuse known bugs or exploits such as the Breakdown bug or extreme lag that prevents them from being picked up.

But for survivors, are you surprised? Angry? Or you just don't care?

I get pretty annoyed ngl. If I see it as Survivor then I get upset because my teammate is essentially throwing the game from before it even starts. As Killer, I feel bad for the other survivors and angry at the no mither because again, they’re throwing the game for their team. Sure, no mither is essentially infinite unbreakable, but a smart killer just wont slug the no mither if they see the broken icon. Being able to make yourself immune to slugging is decent sure, but you’re also permanently injured which undeniably puts you and your team at a major disadvantage, even if they have dead hard. So yeah, I don’t like people who use no mither.

It very well could have been the lore.

The skin is free but I understand your frustration. I have to say, it is pretty bizarre for them to market a skin one way and then just not deliver for no apparent reason. I'm just as baffled as you as to why we didn't get Young Bill.

  • From a gameplay standpoint, they seem alright for the most part. My main issues are that they didn’t get rid of the bloody corn and also, the map is actually so bright that I genuinely have a hard time seeing auras. Really irritating. Map looks cool though.

Glorified by who exactly? I've never met someone with a lick of experience who actually 'glorifies' camping.

I’m glad we’re in agreement then! Here’s hoping they stick to their word and do something soon. Although now that Pride month is soon on the horizon, they may just wait to give rep then. It would be kind of insulting I imagine that it took them a year to do it but hey, it came eventually right? Considering how slow Behaviour are at literally everything, it may not have been a personal slight against the lgbt community, or at least I hope it wasn’t.

I kinda feel like they’re putting it off as much as possible to be honest. Literally all it would take is a simple throw away comment in the character’s lore that states that the dude had/has a boyfriend or that the lady had/has a girlfriend. I think most people would be quite happy with that but they haven’t done anything for some reason. Some people may be upset that they didn’t get a super flamboyant character but personally, I think that if anything, the first openly gay character being super flamboyant would be kinda homophobic. I’m not trying to speak for anyone here, I’m literally just a straight dude with minimal knowledge on all this stuff but I think just having the average joe or jill be gay would be better. Which makes the complete lack of any rep thus far kinda jarring considering how easy it would be.

I heard that Win10 was worse for some games, but that was when it was first released so I didn't know if it was still a point of contention or not.

EDIT: Almost forgot, no, I don't uncap my FPS. At least not knowingly. I had horrible screen-tearing when I played with VSync on so I turned THAT off, but that's about the only adjustment I recall making to the game. I also record all my matches so I'm always playing with Bandicam on, so it's hard to know if I'd get more than 60 without it. That said I find 60 perfectly suitable, I have no desire to try to get higher frames that that. So I couldn't say.

60 is definitely fine sure. It definitely couldn’t hurt to uncap the fps I say. It’s fairly easy. Obviously up to you though.

    @RoboMojo

Yeah, I know ultimately even if the game ran perfect without bugs and other technical issues the parts that make it unbalanced are still going to be there.

My thought came more or less from the frustration that I sometimes encounter on both sides in my experience. I feel less frustrated when I know I lost fair and square whereas I feel very frustrated when I know that, that one hit I didn’t get cost me the game.

I do feel you on the RNG part, i don’t know how they would address that.

Perhaps I misunderstood. However, I understand what you’re saying and I sympathise I really do. I play a lot of Blight and it is beyond frustrating to rush at an object, slide off of it like it isn’t even there, and then also lose the survivor because I’m far away now and I’m in a fatigue. I genuinely understand that sometimes the game feels unfair purely because it doesn’t feel good to feel like you were ‘robbed’ of a hit or of a vault or a stun. If they address these things then the game would most definitely ‘feel’ better to play. Unfortunately, it wouldn’t really help to hide DBD’s soft underbelly. That of course being the imbalance inherent in an asymmetrical game. I understand where you’re coming from but perhaps ‘unbalance’ wasn’t the correct word to use for such a discussion.

  • @Johnny_XMan said:

I was having an interesting conversation with a friend the other night.

About how I have noticed a pattern, within our group. We are mostly a SWF casual group and while we do bring meta perks, we are also not sweating unless the killer basically puts us in that circumstance. We often try to have fun even when we know the RNG was not on our side.

Anytime we experience issues with hits or lag (rubber banding, pallet stuns not working) we tend to get very critical of the game itself. While I know this isn’t something that we have control over but for me it put things into perspective, that when the game is performing even if just ok, many of the things that are deemed unbalanced are more acceptable.

I don’t know if anyone else feels that way. It’s almost like if the game worked ok 100% of the time we might not be as “salty” if one of us got camped or was hit where we shouldn’t have been because it cost us the match.

Making there be less bugs and improving overall performance would help but ultimately, no. This game will never ever be truly balanced. One side will always hold more power depending on the situation. Especially when you consider the sheer amount of variables in a given match. Are the survivors solos or swf? If they’re swf then are they on comms? Is the killer playing a high tier killer? If not then they may struggle against a strong swf. All of this is exasperated when you consider the obscene amount of RNG. If survivors get an incredibly strong set up of tiles across the map then an M1 killer or a killer who has trouble catching up will really suffer. The strongest killers however (Nurse, Spirit, Blight etc) can shut these tiles down. Consequently, when the tile spawns favour even the weaker killers, then the strong killers will dominate with little effort, even against a decent swf. Unless the Dev’s address the RNG, the game will always be unbalanced. Hell even if they do address the RNG, it’ll still be unbalanced. It’d just be slightly closer to balance.

  • @Sleem said:

I would enjoy it if the game's fps is unlocked or at least increased so playing killers like huntress and deathslinger are more enjoyable.

Are you playing on PC? If so, you can uncap your fps with very little risk. Many fog whisperers have done it for example. Otz is one of them.

  • @miketheratguy said:

I have a constant 60 FPS on ultra settings with no major hiccups. That said, I've read from others that they have equal or better rigs who DO have issues. I can't explain why that would be.

I'm also playing on Win7, not Win10, if that makes a difference.

I don’t think it does make a difference. My PC uses windows 10 and while I do experience issues with stuttering occasionally, generally speaking the game is fine. I can usually get around 80-90 FPS on Ultra but I typically play on Low because the better fps feels better. Out of curiosity, did you un-cap your FPS?
