Ever since Demo's release, I've been interested in the possibility of another 'monstrous' killer. Blight got kinda close to that but not really. I've never watched any of the Alien movies because I'm a wimp but I think it could be interesting to see Alien in the game.
-
Monstrous Shrine by far is the worst. You need a basement build to even guarantee that it'll see value at all. Even when it works though, the benefit it actually provides is so pathetic that even in a basement build, it's still a waste of a perk slot. Absolutely terrible.

Yeah I just kinda wanted to propose some changes, given the spirit of the thread. But really Blight just doesn't need any of what I said.
In the video you showed, had you tried to slam into the wall on the right of the door instead of the wall on the left you would have hit it. That side of the wall has better collision. Honestly I think the biggest problem in shelter woods are the tree stumps with no collision. Those can actually screw you because their presence can create dead zones where there's nothing close to bump off of because the game decided to spawn those stumps.
Overall I like slippery shack for the most part, and I don't trust the devs to fix collisions and no make everything have a way bigger collision than you'd expect, making it so that Blight can't navigate anywhere.
I mostly play without addons, cuz I honestly kinda hate the addon system and what it does to killers' powers, but fair enough alchemist ring is a bit busted.
That's fair enough, didn't mean to be a party pooper. You're probably right but I personally think it's kind of dumb that sometimes, walls just don't exist according to the bump collision. I think it's mainly annoying for me because the game clearly recognizes there is an object or wall (He slides off it rather then just phasing through it) but the game just decides '######### you, man. You ain't bumping off that wall, lol'. I do understand though that if they made a huge fix to his collision then it might make some maps more bearable, but would likely make indoor maps like Hawkins a nightmare. Not really sure what the correct answer here is. Unfortunately, the Developers clearly never intended for a Killer like Blight to be added to the game as evidenced by how indoor maps were designed. I'm happy to agree to disagree on this. At the end of the day, we both want what's best for the human pinball.
I'm the same, I prefer to just play a Killer's base-kit (Unless they're a killer who really needs add-ons to be good e.g. Trapper). Besides, I don't really like add-ons that kinda mess with muscle memory i.e. Speed add-ons. However, I've seen some good Blights use ring and 9/10 it's a slaughter, lol.

Ah, can't confirm it was you then. Well, hope to see you in a game someday! My Steam name can fluctuate but I'm most often just rObO, RoboMojo, or some variety of them.

The PFG David thing seems vaguely familiar. I may have played against you but I'm not sure. Are you on European servers? If not then it was probably someone else. I think I once had @GeneralV in my lobby when I was Killer but he left the lobby for whatever reason, lol.

Steve and Elodie are just straight up awful. I honestly wouldn't be opposed to them investing in redoing the voices for some characters.

I have three possible changes to Blight:
-When Blight slams against an object he emits a faint cloud of yellow gas within 3 meters that hinders survivors for 2 seconds. So basically a very tame version of one of the effects of Compound 33. I think this would make him insane around loops, and would prevent survivors from just getting up in his face to try and dodge him...in my eyes that's basically abusing the fact that the FoV is terrible.
-Blight gains an additional 1m/s speed up per rush. This is a tame version of the Blighted Rat/Crow addon. Those addons should be nerfed to compensate, BUT it makes it so that there is a risk/reward system for using more tokens.
-Blight's power cooldown when ending a rush or after a hit now starts recharging during the injection animation instead of after the animation. This is basically normalizing it with the pallet break animation which does have the ability recharge during the injection. Relatively minor but would allow Blight to use his power more often.
Do any of those to Blight and you don't really make him easier to play necessarily, but you do make him way stronger, which he doesn't really need realistically, to be fair.
Edit: I wrote "fair cloud" instead of "faint cloud"
Honestly, as you said yourself, Blight doesn't really need any of these. The third idea would be nice for QOL I guess but it's mostly unnecessary. At most, his recharge takes 10 seconds which is honestly nothing when you consider that he is tremendously faster then the Survivors whilst rushing.
In my opinion, all the Devs have to do is iron out his collision and nerf alchemist ring in some way. Whilst slippery tiles i.e. Shack do enable hits that normally wouldn't be possible, they also regularly rob hits. I've been in many situations where Shack being slippery made it impossible to use my power as there may be nothing else to bump off of. This is an issue most prevalent on the farm maps where there is usually nothing to bump off of next to Shack. Indeed, even when there is something which could seemingly be bumped off of, the Blight sometimes just slides off it instead.
https://youtu.be/5D4pIjlK0gUI sincerely doubt that they would add new environmental objects to each map where this is a problem, just for Blight. Especially since, whilst possibly only minor, it could be an indirect nerf to killers like Huntress, demo etc. As such, I wouldn't be opposed to the Devs revisiting how his collision works again.
I think alchemist ring needs a nerf because just negating the power recharge mechanic entirely on a successful hit is stupid. Good Blights become god-like Blights with this add-on because there is essentially zero means to escape. He's way faster then you as a Survivor so you can't make any distance. If the Blight is good then all the Survivor will get to make distance is the mere 3 seconds of successful hit cooldown. After which, they will be swiftly on your ass in mere seconds. Especially if they've paired ring with blighted crow. Furthermore, if the Blight player has mastered when to flick and when to simply use good bump logic (as good ol' Ascension put it) then they'll be able to hit you at almost every tile in the game. So you can't make any distance because they can immediately use his power again, and you can't loop them at most tiles because they know when to flick and when to use simple bump logic. It doesn't help that it kinda makes the token management system less important as there's no real penalty to using all 5 rush tokens to get the hit as you'll just immediately get them back. Overall, ring is completely busted in my opinion and desperately needs some kind of change.

Ash 100% Nine times out of ten, you'd have to throw the game just to get mettle of man to work. Flip-flop is okish but for the most part, it's overshadowed by Unbreakable. Buckle up is just genuinely useless. I have no idea why it's even in the game.

i played against him yesterday and we had two gens done by the time he found ALL of us, he stayed with one or two people before reaching out to the others. he kept hooking people in the basement and i tried to save one , but i was not fricking with that, though i went back to the gen i was doing right next to the basement (bad idea) but i crouched behind the gen and we were bother peeking out at each other crouching and he downed me. put me in the basement, and let someone unhook me. He kept downing people and let me pick them up and this went one for a while, i got downed a couple of times but Steve was super toxic and clicked his flashlight at him and kept stunning him with pallets, so he died. Jake was the obsession, he died. and i think it was a Nea but she pallet dropped him when it was just me and her and she died obvi. he stood on the hatch for 10 minutes it felt like and we kept crouching and spinning. there were so many times i thought he would kill me but i let him down me before i escaped through the hatch. i was a Nancy.
also if you see this ily <3

Nemesis could be high B I’d say
Why'd you put Blight so low in A? He is leaps and bounds ahead of the other A tiers, except maybe Hag. He has strong mobility, both in chase and outside of chase. In-chase mobility is extremely powerful as it allows you to negate survivors simply holding W and can allow you to get hits other killers could only dream of. Out of chase mobility is obviously good because it simply means that he can get from point A to point B very quickly. On top of that, his power recharge is quite short (2 seconds per rush used, so 10 seconds if you use all 5). With this, you can use his power rather liberally for in and out of chase mobility. Furthermore, his power is quite strong for anti-loop and he shreds through pallets thanks to his ability to break pallets with his lethal rush.
Now, let's compare the tools that the other killers in A have to Blight's.
Hag: Very slow due to being a 110 killer, but she has very strong area denial with her traps and can down people in seconds if they step into her web of traps. She can effortlessly stomp Solos as defeating a good Hag requires a level of coordination that isn't really possible with randoms. I don't necessarily agree with her being put ahead of Blight but I understand the logic behind doing so.
Pyramid Head: Has very strong anti-loop if his power is used to force Survivors into lose-lose situations. His power is too telegraphed to be used properly against decent players but can be very powerful against inexperienced Survivors. PH is also an excellent tunneller but that is less relevant now after the DS nerf. He can save time by caging instead of hooking which can be used to snowball quite effectively. Overall, he is a strong chase killer but he lacks any mobility which leaves him vulnerable to Survivors holding W, especially on large maps with lots of line of sight. As well as this, his add-ons are extremely lackluster and his power is too telegraphed to be fully effective against strong Survivors. I heavily disagree with him being placed ahead of Blight but I do agree that he still belongs in A.
Oni: His power is essentially a better version of Blight's power but there's a very simple reason why he isn't ahead of Blight in my opinion. Blight can use his power essentially whenever he wants, Oni can only use it whenever he collects enough blood orbs. Furthermore, Blight can immediately pressure the map with his mobility whereas Oni is, quite literally, a powerless M1 killer until he gets the first hit. Against the average solo que team, that may not be an issue. However, a strong team can make even a good Oni's game a miserable experience by pre-dropping every pallet at the start to delay him getting the first hit. Overall his power, when available, is tremendously powerful in the right hands. The issue is that strong teams will make it very difficult for the Oni to get the first hit. I most definitely do not agree with Oni being placed ahead of Blight and, while this may be controversial, I think Oni should be in B.
Huntress: Very slow as 110, Huntress lacks any mobility which can really hurt on big maps. Exceptionally good Huntresses can hit cross map hatchets which does make up for her lack of mobility somewhat. However, like many other killers, blocking line of sight and holding W really hurts her. She can get arguably, the fastest downs in the game if she chains a hatchet into an M1. This typically only happens against an out of position Survivor. Survivors can also make it very difficult for the Huntress to hit her hatchets if they properly utilize the objects in their environment. Another point of note is that she has a 40 meter lullaby which can sometimes mean that clever Survivors will become stealthy when they hear the lullaby. As such, information perks are a necessity which is a mark against her in my book. Overall, she suffers from the same issues as Pyramid Head and Oni. Exceptional chase power but really suffers due to a lack of mobility which enables survivors to hold w and waste lots of time. I agree that she deserves a spot in A but she cannot compare to Blight in my view.
Now, last and most certainly least, is the Plague: I personally feel that she is a very overrated killer. Her power is unique in that it has some built in anti-stealth on infected Survivors which is most definitely a plus. Being able to force the Survivors to become broken is definitely quite powerful. However, there are some major issues. Firstly, survivors who are comfortable being injured, will never cleanse until the very end. Her corrupt purge is immensely powerful but you lose it if stunned which smart Survivors will absolutely abuse to the fullest. Like Huntress or Deathslinger, she can hit over objects but blocking line of sight hurts her. As such, whilst difficult, Plague with corrupt purge is definitely loopable by a good Survivor. She has some very powerful add-ons but even then, she is definitely not as big a threat as any of these other killers in A. Even if you use both apple add-ons, you still aren't guaranteed to have the corrupted fountains in convenient places. Yet again, she lacks any form of mobility and as such, holding W is a possibility. Although, Corrupt purge can shut that down to an extent. Overall however, she has decent anti-stealth and powerful anti-loop but that anti-loop is on a timer. Without corrupt purge, she is essentially an M1 killer which can force people to remain injured. If we've learnt anything from Legion, it's that forcing survivors to remain injured, isn't necessarily the key to victory. I personally think that she belongs in B.
In summary, I wasted thirty minutes on this and I have no idea why. Have a nice day.
Love,
A random Blight main.

You had me until you said that you wanted Killers to have 6 perks. I mean... What? Just imagine a sweaty Nurse with surge, ruin, pop, tinkerer, corrupt and either undying or oppression. Would be borderline impossible to escape from, especially if Survivors are still stuck at 4 perks.

Yes even Nurse and Spirit. And even Freddy before nerf. He was not popular killer because of pov and bugs. But now he is good, most of him problems gone. And people started playing him and learning. He is so good at chases, he is rejecting pallets, windows are not safe so many times. He has great map mobility. For now, people are new as him. But i can see hate and nerf post about him in future.
I never thought he is strong like that before i tried him. Yes he is S-Tier and i am sure he is stronger than Spirit. When you win mindgame against Spirit, she turning m1 killer and she has not bad cooldown. But Blight? He is god. I hope that boi never gets nerf.
Just the other day, I played against a streamer. I usually like to see their VOD to see their perspective on the match so I checked it out. Low and behold, he complained about how Blight is boring to face. He also genuinely said that Blight being able to flick should be nerfed. I had hit him with a 90 degree flick btw, i.e. the ones which were always intended by the Devs.
The majority of people in my experience are quite nice or just indifferent though. There definitely is a minority of people who dislike Blight however. Only time will tell I suppose.

It took me quite a bit of getting used to but it's well worth it I say. I honestly don't know why Interactions and actions aren't separate by default on Console. Makes no sense to me but oh well. At least you and the OP hopefully have a better time from now on.

As a survivor i find this perk quite annoying when Nemesis spawn not too far from me, and less then 3 seconds we're in the chase.
It's not a big deal of a perk and maybe a waste of slot but, it gave your position for at least 7 seconds.
I don't know, i wish we could have some kind of balance with auras.
What is your opinion about this perk and do you think it will change?
I haven't actually used it myself yet as I dipped on the PTB quite quickly. However, based on what I've seen of the perk, it seems rather underwhelming unfortunately. Sure, on a high mobility Killer like Blight, being able to see exactly where everyone is at the start could be immensely useful. Being able to start a chase in 15-20 seconds at the beginning of a match is nothing to scoff at. There are a couple of issues however.
Firstly, it's yet another perk that is much weaker on killers which lack mobility. Yes, they can still go to where they saw Survivors spawn and chase them. However, it'd take twice as long for them to do that compared to high mobility killers. The second, and in my opinion, biggest issue with Lethal Pursuer is that it lasts for only 7 seconds. After the 7 seconds are up, the perk is PERMANENTLY deactivated for the remainder of the trial. That to me, is truly awful. Especially when you compare it to Corrupt, another early game perk, which lasts for a full 2 minutes. I really want to like Lethal Pursuer but the fact that it doesn't have some kind of secondary effect, absolutely kills it for me. It'll be nice for newer killers to learn where Survivors typically spawn I guess.

Remind to triangle? I never tried that. Wouldn't that just replace R1 and I'll have the same problem?
It might be different on console because I never thought to rebind my buttons on my PS4. However, as I stated previously, interactions (Healing, doing gens, etc) are separate to actions (Dropping pallets, vaulting, etc). At least, they're separate options on PC.

https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/253651/trying-to-understand-why-things-dont-get-fixed
Yeah. PC players have two interaction buttons while controller players have 1. It's why you see so many PC players instantly heal survivors at the pallet while when I play on PS4, I have to hover over them for a few seconds until I see the prompt to heal or else I end up dropping the pallet by mistake. Yes, it does suck and I know how you feel.
By default, yes. Controller only has 1 interaction button. However, you can actually rebind the buttons. I've done so myself (I usually use Mouse and keyboard for Killer but I use controller for Survivor). I use an X-box controller and I rebound actions (Dropping pallets, vaulting, etc) to Y. That way, it wouldn't overlap with interactions (Healing, doing gens, etc). I used to play on PS4 myself. Perhaps you could rebind either actions or interactions to triangle? If I remember correctly, triangle isn't used for anything in DBD by default.

Simple logo's have been a trend for a while now but most companies in recent memory that have tried a rebrand have been heavily criticized for unnecessary change that removes personality and recognizability. This makes you wonder why so many still try. But here we are, the trend of oversimplification has reached the DbD logo and I'm wondering how people feel about it.
I'm personally not a fan, DbD has a very gritty aesthetic that the detailed logo catered to, this new logo reminds me of the new HUD and feels like an attempt to become modern for the sake of being trendy. The text feels like a mishmash of different horror movie fonts and lacks any originality, while the new tally design lacks detail and personality making the logo as a whole feel much more generic.
Curious if anyone else shares the same opinion.
I'm not super fussed either way but if I had to choose, then I prefer the old one much more.

Now before you ask... What do I mean?
Well since September 2016 to May 27th 2021 (5 years) We only had a PTB on PC.
And Dead by Daylight released for both Ps4 and Xbox in June 2017. So for 4 Years console players never had a Player Test Build to try the new features or give their thoughts on the new chapters.
I know what you may be thinking. How are they gonna do a PTB on consoles? Is that impossible?
The answer? No. It's not impossible.
Xbox has the Xbox Insider Hub, or the developers could make a PTB Server Application (Like DayZ or PUBG)
PUBG PTS Xbox [NOT MY IMAGE]:
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/MXA0EVGIYXFR/image.png
PUBG PTS Ps4 [NOT MY IMAGE]:

Xbox Insider Hub [NOT MY IMAGE]:
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/A1NY70ECHCX6/image.png
This application or Hub would provide more input through Consoles, and PC. For the Insider Hub it will apply a BETA Update to the current version of the Game. (CAN GLITCH tho). It also can allow you to download BETA applications if you own the base game. (AT TIMES).
The best way to do a PTB styled Application for consoles would be the PTS styled applications like PUBG & DayZ have. This will allow devs to enable the servers or disable them. Which means just like PC's PTB, They can set it to be 2 Weeks Disable it then re-enable it when need-be. And the applications are COMPLETELY Optional just like the PTB for PC.
The reason many of us Console players want this feature is so Developers get more feedback before they release it into the wild. (aka a full release) This will help Developers find the kinks, find the bugs, and patch them much much better. This application would make the developer's lives easier if they knew how it would impact all platforms. Plus would allow console player's input with their own feedback.
A few Tags: @Peanits @not_Queen @mcote [This helps keep the ball rolling and hopefully will get seen <3]
Let me know what you all think.
A PTB for consoles would be a brilliant idea and as you said yourself, it's totally possible. I'm all for it. Makes no sense to me that they'd essentially alienate a huge proportion of the player base by not giving them some form of PTB.

The PTB takes your progress from a few days ago. So if you got those BP just recently, you will not have them on the PTB.

A new game mode and cross progression are my hopes. I KNOW I'll be disappointed but one can dream.

So Im on a break still, the game just seemed to be stagnant and going towards a bad direction (for me)
I was killer main at rank 1 whenever i played a bit more and my issues were mostly bugs + some things i didnt like on the survivor side (keys and 4 stacks for the most)
I never played Moris, I never played Noed ( except for nurse where i was bad at and played an endgame build so I can practice her blinks without other perks and maybe get some value at the end of the game)
But especially since i play console and because of all the lags and freezes I just didnt want me to play the game anymore.
I made posts of the same tpic some time ago, i just want some opinions about the game being more playable now (progress especially on consoles) so i can come back, or if the game is still in a "meh" spot and comming back wouldnt be a good idea.
What would you guys say? Good time to come back or not?
last killer I played was PH so everything after that is kinda new.
Note: last time I asked the advice was to not come back
Have a nice day if you read :)
I say, wait to see what they announce in the 5th Anniversary stream. If you're not interested in what they show off then you can just continue to stay away from the game.

Hi all! Survivor main here! This question might sound salty and/or bait-y but I genuinely want to know something! This is not an anti-Killer post, this is not an anti-perk post, this is not meant to provoke anything negative.
Do you enjoy chases? Be honest!
So often I've been seeing Starstruck paired with the terror radius increase perk (which is a clever build!) or the Michael 'Exposed' perk. Those Killers who didn't have that (and most who did) also have Sloppy Butcher.
Now let me clarify something! I've played this game for a long, long time. I understand that a shorter chase means quicker return to applying gen pressure. I'm not asking for reasons behind the tactic, I get it. I've just noticed that at the rank I'm at now chases are like... Not a thing. At all. I'm seeing red rank tier 1 Survivors run for 5-15 seconds max and get downed. And my casual playing self sure isn't doing any better. 🤣 In 23 rounds tonight I saw two Survivors escape and one only got it by a pure chance hatch. Every other one was a very short round 4k with basically no chases.
Chases are my favorite thing about this game, I really love seeing well executed plays where Killers mindgame me and lure me to a hit. Of course I am excited if I manage to outsmart them and escape. But between 7/23 of my rounds tonight being against Bubba, 5 against Spirit (4 who had Stridor), and a surprising amount of Exposed perk, this was personally one of my least enjoyable nights I've had in DbD. Not because anyone was doing anything wrong but because the chase was ending with one hit right out the gate - it was boring.
I know so much of this is because the game railroads even casual or not skilled players into red ranks where people are good and do play seriously, but just... It shocks me how little Killers seem to want to do any kind of chasing.
I'd also love to know what your favorite part of being a Killer is since I rambled a bit about my favorite part of Survivor! 😊Happy gaming, everyone! <3
Personally, this is why I wished there was an official 1v1 mode. Sure, right now you can have a 1v1 with your friend in a custom lobby but it's not exactly organized, let alone fair (The maps are still designed for 4 survivors in mind so any prolonged 1v1 will always be unfair unless you're playing Nurse or Spirit). As such, an official 1v1 mode where the map is specifically designed for 1v1s would be great. The chase is the most enjoyable aspect of the game but it's hard to enjoy as Killer when you're bogged down with so many other things. In a 1v1, if a Survivor made a fair outplay I'd probably think 'Damn, they're good. Fair play'. However, in a normal 4v1 where I have to worry about 3 other survivors, how many gens there are left and how I need to defend them, are they doing my hex? etc. Suddenly my reaction to a good play goes to '#########, THEY'RE GOOD. I'VE WASTED 30+ SECONDS AND HAVE NOTHING TO SHOW FOR IT. I guess I'm gonna lose 3 gens now'.

Something has been bugging me about what Coté said in that interview. The one where he was talking about iconic RE characters.
He said something else that i dont hear anyone talking about. He said, "...new ways to kill and to survive."
Now as far as killing goes, Pyramid Head proves they can add different ways to sacrifice survivors.
That part of his statement isn't the part I am focusing on. The new ways to survive however.....
How would that work? You have the exit gates and the hatch. With all the fuss about keys, would they add a new way to escape?
I really don't think so. The hatch in itself is a point of contention so adding a third escape route would further divide players.
So how else could you survive?
1) Some way to actually kill the killer? A weapon to fight back with? Turning pebble into a hand grenade? Highly doubtful. Any attempt to implement a way for survivors to fight back would change the game in a fundamental way. 5 years of design and balance would be out the window. I mean think about the Clicky clicky bully squads with actual weapons. Hard pass on that one.
2) Different objectives depending on the map. Maybe repair gens on one map but drain gas from gens on other maps to open an exit. Something that wouldn't require huge changes to balance but changes things up a little.
Or what I feel is more possible
3) Secondary game modes. I know. The Dev's have stated that they don't want to split the player base. But what if, they didn't. What if certain maps in the rotation were dedicated to certain game mode? (Think overwatch) So rotten fields is normal game mode, torment creek is something else. (Maybe a timed mode where survivors are downed in 1 hit but have unlimited respawn and the goal is to last out the timer.)
Make it so you can turn off the new game modes in options but the main game is never turned off.
Tl:dr I think that Coté hinted at something that most of us have been ignoring in the RE hype. I could be wrong, probably am, but who knows.
I sincerely hope you're right. This game desperately needs something new and fresh to fundamentally shake things up.

He needs much, much more then just this. At least the brown add-on being base kit would be excellent though.

Just like the game of baseball, I noticed that we as a community have some rules we try to follow in a normal match of dbd.
Comment Rules you go by for survivor or killer. Love to see what you all follow
I appreciate all those who keep playing despite the Tbag/Flashlight clickers or the Face Campers.
There are no rules. That's why this game is such a clusterfuck, well that and the overabundance of bugs.
