I'd like to play around with Oppression a bit.. I'll probably be waiting awhile.
Same here. I really wanna try it out because it looks like it could be interesting on a high mobility killer. Kick a gen, see them fail the skill check in the distance and then you can be there in like 10 seconds flat. Could be very oppressive (As the name may imply). However, lord knows I don't want to buy the Twins again. Not with shards and not with IRL money. I purchased them in the past and simply didn't enjoy them at all. Luckily I was able to get a refund (Thank you, Steam) but unfortunately, that also meant I lost the ability to get her teachables. Oh well. We'll get lucky with the Shrine one day.

As you said you'd be happy with some communication about this - we posted about it in the most recent Dev update, specifically this:
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/862Y1R2M0T2U/qy21fbu-5b1-5d.png
Yes, there are acknowledged bugs in the game, and some quite large ones at the moment - we have however, acknowledged these in the bug report section of the forum and I am hopeful they will be fixed with the next update.
Oh I was unaware of this, I'm sorry. Thanks for the info! Hopefully they do stick to their word and do more soon.

Killer isn't fun. It gets worse and worse the higher you rank up. Playing a weak Killer against top tier Survivors is literally a machoistic bully simulator.
So why do most people play it? Bloodpoints. When you're good at Killer you can realistically get 28-32k points every game plus all four BBQ Stacks without doing literally anything or having to play around the perk at all for +100%.
56k to 64k. Not counting offerings is pretty standard for a good Killer.
Survivors that are decent can maybe get an average of 20k bloodpoints per match, with a lot more variance because its heavily based on their team and the killer so its less in their control. WGLF is an average to mediocre perk that's more niche and less game changing than Unbreakable. Also, unless you're soft throwing for stacks, its relatively unlikely you'll get all four WGLF stacks every match through normal gameplay. Two or Three is way more likely for +50-75%.
33k (ish). Not counting offerings is pretty standard for a good Survivor.
People still play Survivor despite this bloodpoint difference, but would people still play Killer if they got drastically less bloodpoints? I highly doubt it.
I just play Killer because it's fun. It can be tremendously frustrating at times but then again, so can solo que.

I've never really noticed it being broken in that sense. Playing Blight on that map is miserable though. I swear like half of Swamp's objects cannot be bumped into. Trees, rocks, you name it. Few things are more frustrating for me then losing chase because you slid off of something when you intended to bump. Oh well, Blight's collision has been wonky since his release so I'm not expecting miracles.

Nice one, mate. I’m sure all the killers who were literally just playing normally will really appreciate you knowingly exploiting a bug in their match with the expressed purpose of making their game miserable. So fun!
-
Ok here’s the guranteed guide to getting stuns:
- Clicky clicky at the killer to get them angri :)
- run to pallet
- drop pallet
- get hit through pallet anyway because of the bug
- cri
- cri
- cri more
- reflect upon life
- boot up another match :)

Hello guys , i just want to know if you can get banned to make the game brighter . I'm blind af ...and the game for me is super dark!
This thing can be bannable ? i tried to make brighter from monitor settings , but is the same ( brightness 100% xD), and i want to use game filter from nvidia ..is it safe to use ?
I’ve been using a filter to make the game a bit brighter for a few months now because I hate having to squint at the screen to try and see a Blendette on a dark map. It’s absolutely not bannable as long as you don’t mess with the game files.

I remember it was such a big thing for BHVR that they did Cross Progression with Stadia and Steam. Then it turned out to be bugged and erase user data or something (dont quote me on that). But all of that was so long ago. What happened to Cross Progression? Will we see console to Steam and vice versa? It just doesn't make sense why they made it such a big deal and now there's been zero info on it for months. I never see it mentioned in the twitter, reddit, or even forums.
If it’s coming for consoles to Steam then they’ll likely announce it in the 5th Anniversary stream. If they don’t announce it then, then it probably won’t come for quite some time or maybe never.

No problem!

He doesn’t even need buffs necessarily but if they nailed his bump collision then he would be incredible. Not really on the same level as Nurse or Spirit but still close. The issues with him in my opinion are the bugs that screw him over. Like the bug where he bumps into hatch, even if it hasn’t spawned properly yet (FYI, they never fixed that bug, they said they had but they didn’t). However, his broken collision is his biggest issue I think. Sometimes you slide when you intended to bump and bumped when you wanted to slide. If they could perfect his collision so he always bumps when he wants and always slides when he wants then that would genuinely make him S tier in my opinion.

You can only see the killer every 30 seconds which means you probably won’t see the killer when they’re placing a trap down. I do think that the fact that it exposes the killers aura perks is a bit strong (especially for swf groups) but hey the perk needs some use
It’s less reliable sure but if you see where even one trap is placed then that could change the entire course of the game. Trapper can’t snowball if you don’t step in his traps.
-
Personally, I am sternly against insta kill mechanics like the tombstone piece. Especially if you consider that it can be paired with one of his add ons to increase the rate of stalking.

As you know OOO is gonna get reworked in the next patch. I personally think that it’s a good information perk for solo queue players but I wanna know what others think of it
It’ll still be absolutely insane in my opinion. Hell, they might need to nerf it more. We’ll have to see how it performs I suppose. It could very well still be the bane of Trapper and Hag players’ existence though.

The Spirit is a knock off brand of Grudge/Ring....why wouldn't you want the real thing?
Because Spirit already fulfils that type of horror no? I wouldn’t really be opposed to them adding the Grudge but it would be kind of boring and uninspired. Especially if their power is just a rip off spirits. We’d just have the Leatherface situation again where Leatherface essentially ripped off Billy’s power with minor changes.

I'm sure that for a while, Devour Hope started showing the exposed icon if you hit someone with 3+ tokens even if you used a special attack. Can anyone tell me if this is still the case, or is it still only for basic attacks?
It is revealed no matter what if you hit someone. I used Devour hope myself against a TTV a few weeks ago. I distinctly remembering hitting someone with a lethal rush while I had three stacks on Devour and when I checked their vod, it showed them that they were exposed even though I hit with my power.

im pretty sure jeff is the loudest survivor, so iron will is a must-have on him
I wouldn’t be surprised if that were the case, although Meg may be louder. I swear Meg heads’ groans of pain are so loud that I sometimes hear a Meg even when there’s no Meg in my match.

Basically the title, just any builds you use on any killer/survivor. I'll show mine for Clown, I guess
Brutal Strength
STBFL
BBQ and Chilli
Hex: Ruin (Star struck if i'm feelin lucky)
I better not see any OoO + Distortion gamers, GoobyNugget.
Personally, my current favourite build for Blight is:
- BBQ (Gives good info and the double bp is always nice)
- Ruin (I hate kicking gens and it’s fairly good regression so it’s a no-brainer for me)
- Undying (Just helps to make my ruin last longer and the aura reading is nice)
- Blood warden (Rarely comes into play but when it does it’s so hilarious)
For survivor, it differs a lot but a current build I like is:
- Spine chill (Because I’m a wimp)
- Aftercare (I like it because it’s basically like a more selfless version of bond)
- Kindred (Generally very good for Solo que and pairs well with Aftercare)
- Iron Will (Jeff may be my favourite survivor but there’s no denying that he’s loud af)

Personally, I think it needs to be reworked instead. No matter how you slice it, the ability to tank a hit like that can never really be balanced. It’ll always be either too difficult to get and therefore useless, like it is right now. Or it would be too easy to get and it would be overpowered like old Mettle of Man. I think your idea would fall closer on the latter side of things.

@Raptorrotas said:
How about making the weaker killers "boring" too?
Sorry but most often "boring" is used as a synonym for "strong" or "actually viable".
That’s actually not true at all. Killers like Trapper and Clown are considered boring even though, in my opinion at least, they’re not very good killers. Whether a Killer is fun to face or not has very little to do with their actual strength and more to do with how interactive they are in a chase. Obviously you’re totally entitled to the belief that a killer being boring doesn’t matter, but trying to imply that people only declare a particular killer boring because they think said killer is too strong is rather disingenuous.

Perks like BT, DS, Unbreakable, Pop, Ruin and many others are meta and are used quite often. There are a lot of perks from both sides that I think don’t get the attention they deserve so here are my top 5 underrated survivor and killer perks:
Survivor perks:
- We'll Make It
- Prove Thyself
- Bond
- Botany Knowledge
- Fast Track
Killer perks:
- I’m All Ears
- Brutal Strength
- Dark Devotion
- Oppression
- Agitation
I’m all ears, Bond and we’ll make it aren’t really underrated perks. People know that they’re good but they don’t run them because they’re inferior to the meta perks.
-
Nurse, she is genuinely broken when you get good with her. She needs a full rework tbh. Strong Killers are fine, but killers which can straight up ignore every possible defence the survivors have is... not so fine.

The switch version sucks.
Lag, 20-30 fps and on maps with snow and rain you can basically do nothing at all.
And the sad thing? It's not the fault of the switch it self. This thing is running games a lot more complicated and good looking perfectly (Warfarme for example)
Modders already played the game on solid 60 fps and better graphicsboth the mobile and the pc version on that thing. So it's just bhvr fault this game is awful programmed right now. But hey, another version who just prints money right?
Yup, just another version to rake in the money. They clearly do not care about Consoles. If they did, they’d have delivered on their promise to properly optimise consoles that they made a year ago I believe.

I'd say making it 2/2/1.
1 and 4 should stay for yes.
The current no should stay and have a 2nd No to nerfs but something else like buffs to the killer or just saying no because fun is inherently subjective(Aka fun for some unfun for others and changing them for the unfun crowd hurts the fun crowd).
Remember the twins are considered to be boring because of the slugging/camping and nerfing them won't change that but buffing them to make tag teaming viable if not outright the best strategy would make them less "boring".
Also the twins are fun for some and unfun for others and thus the potential nerf coming for the unfun crowd could kill the character for the fun crowd.
Unfortunately it seems I cannot add another poll option. My bad

That's interesting, Huntress may actually be my favorite opponent. I find her relatively balanced, a solid challenge but not overly cheap (my opinion anyway).
I honestly haven't faced Deathslinger enough to have much of an opinion on him. No one ever picks him. I've gone against him probably ten times or less. The good players made him seem a bit cheap but that's how it always goes. He's probably not much better or worse than most other killers from what I can tell.
Huntress is only ‘balanced’ when her hitboxes are actually fair. Unfortunately, 9 times out of 10, they are not. At least with Slinger, his shots seem to hit when they should and miss when they should (for the most part). With Huntress, her hitboxes are consistently awful, for both sides mind you. I’ve seen so many instances of a Hatchet literally phasing through a survivor and not hitting them and on the other hand, I’ve seen instances of someone who’s playing Huntress themselves saying ######### like ‘that probably shouldn’t have hit’. She feels pretty damn cheap to me but I suppose if you don’t mind super wonky hitboxes then she’s mostly fine.
Deathslinger is just annoying to face by the way. He’s actually fairly weak in my opinion as all he has is the 1v1. He has zero mobility and he doesn’t have any timesavers like Pyramid head’s cages. If the survivors play smart then they can fairly easily get at least a 2-3 man escape, even if Noed comes into play. The main complaint from what I’ve seen typically isn’t that he’s OP, just that he’s boring.

Noed, a crutch perk. IMO it should be nerfed hard or removed.
There’s a decent number of crutch perks in this game my guy. Nerfing it for that reason alone definitely isn’t fair.

But a lot of male have the same things, Ace, Dwight for example, or Jake that is the quietest survivor in the game, but at the end of the day, the advantage its just minimum.
Jake is definitely not the quietest survivor in the game, the guy is loud af. Maybe you just mean that he's more likely to have Iron will because it's one of Jake's perks?

I really hate that >:(
They need to remove collision from the unhooked person with BT.
Other than that only some killers can counter this.
That would actually be a fantastic change! It would mean that it actually fulfils it's anti-camp/anti-tunnel effect and wouldn't just be a third life state for the unhooker like it is now.
-
@CornHub said:
When someone gets unhooked & you want to go for the rescuer, but the person is bodyblocking because they have BT. What are some counters to this besides waiting out the 15s as people who do this sometimes have ds.
No pre-unhook tactics like "just grab the person" or prevent the unhooking from even happening please
Apparently according to Ascension's most recent video, as Myers you can abuse the fact that you have no collision whilst stalking to phase through the body blocker. Everybody else basically just has to wait the 15 seconds or hit the body blocker which sucks.

@Gibberish said:
The core aspects that make Survivors strong compared to Killers are gen times and bad map design. Neither of these require SWF to exploit. Competent solo Survivors still can utterly stomp competent Killers.
SWF is just a power multiplier, it makes bad survivors slightly better, and makes competent survivors even stronger.
I agree. Thing is though. Honestly, the strongest aspect of swf'ing isn't Comms necessarily (Though there's no doubt that comms gives a noticeable advantage over solos), I think the biggest strength of swf is simply knowing the quality of your teammates. For example, if you know that two of your friends are fairly decent but your 4th friend isn't so good then you can act accordingly (Trying to take aggro of that player as much as possible etc). Swf is generally speaking stronger simply because in solo que, half the time your teammates would probably be too busy self caring in a corner to do gens.

The default chase music doesn’t really fit anyone tbh. Trapper is as in depth as any of the new characters and just as deserving of his own theme
They could just add slight things to the default chase music to make it his own at least
Honestly, I'd prefer if at least one killer kept the default chase themes. Alternatively, they could add an option so that you can hear the default chase themes regardless of your killer. It would be a pretty nice feature I think, especially if you main a particular killer but are tired of their own chase theme. They could make it only change the chase theme for the killer perspective if there was a concern over balance. I actually really like some of the default chase themes, 'entity brain' (I think that's what it's called) is my favourite of them. I'd be really upset if they basically just did away with these chase themes.
-
I really don't think it's 'toxic' to last second swap. Nonetheless, it does need to be addressed. Perhaps there could just be a thing in place where by the 30-25 second mark on the lobby timer, all survivors are locked into their current character and loadout. So there's no last second swapping into two keys and a map or something of that nature. If they want to use a strong item then they must accept the fact that the Killer may choose to change their build to appropriately respond to it.
-
######### I PICKED THE WRONG OPTION. I AM A GENUINE MORON.
Scooby doo seems a little too silly for this game. Sure we already have Elephant Clown but that's still technically in character for him and doesn't really ruin the game's aesthetic, at least, it doesn't for me. I really don't think I could take the game seriously at all if I suddenly bumped into Shaggy when playing survivor or something, lol. Rambo doesn't really fit either as he's an action dude from what I hear but if I had to choose then Rambo, 100%
-
The information that it gives a Killer like Blight is very useful. In saying that, if they did remove the BP bonus then to be entirely honest, I would probably ditch the perk for something else. Maybe tinkerer if I wanted to sweat. Perhaps Haunted grounds or something else if I just want to have fun.
-
9 times out of 10, survivors can completely avoid a 4 man slug by simply splitting up and playing smart. The only exception to that rule really is a good Nurse and maybe a good Oni if he's using some strong add-ons. Generally speaking though, it's typically the survivors fault. Maybe they grouped up at a bad time to greed a gen for example. Or they just collectively decided to group up for no apparent reason (Which is surprisingly common to see as Killer). Think about it, if each person is a sizable distance away, then 80-90% of the killer cast would be physically incapable of snowballing. Obviously 'playing smart' is an alien concept to the average solo que teammate but that's predominantly an issue with solo que. If they addressed solo que's many problems then slugging would mostly become a non issue.
-
- I started playing the game a few months after the Clown's release as the game was free for PS Plus during August of 2018.
- My first survivor main was Dweet, I liked his kind of nerdy aesthetic. Now I main Jeff whenever I play survivor
- I didn't really have a main as such when I started out. Everything was new and interesting to me so I played every Killer I did own. Although I suppose the killers I had taken a liking to the most was probably Clown and Myers, especially Myers. For my current killer main? Blight. He's tough at times, especially with his broken collision and the bugs that can straight up rob hits e.g. the one where he bumps into a hatch that hasn't even spawned yet. Nonetheless, he's incredibly fun when he actually works properly.
P.S. I've gotten so used to Blight's speed and aggressive playstyle that now every other killer feels slow and sluggish in comparison. I've become a Blight addict! I miss playing Trapper, please help!
-
If I remember correctly, I chose Predator (Because he looks cool and I'm not really well versed in horror media), for anime I just chose Death note because it was the only one I actually watched from the list lol. Finally for games, I think I chose last of us. They could do a lot of interesting things with an infected as the killer I think. Plus, having Joel or Ellie as a survivor would be pretty cool. For the extra option, I put Bloodborne because it may well be my favourite game of all time. There's tons of hunters or beasts they could use as the Killer. Kind of unsure who the survivor would be though. It wouldn't really make any sense for a Hunter to be the survivor. Perhaps the Survivor could be one of the people you can try to help by sending to the Oedon Chapel? Alternatively they could just make it into a single character paragraph like Ghostface or Leatherface.
-
@Phasmamain said:
Totally agree. Nurse is more broken than spirit and Freddy combined. Too bad people don’t realise
People don't realise it because actually good Nurses are extremely rare. You might face a decent Nurse every now and then but they'll probably make a few mistakes. Mess up some blinks, whiff hits if they're juked etc. A genuinely really good Nurse is very hard to find in a public match.
-
When facing a new killer there's always an exciting little bit of fear and anxiety. That wears off rather quickly though. Facing a stealth killer without spine chill can also be anxiety inducing though, especially if they're good.
-
Starstruck on Nurse is nasty from what I've seen. It's fairly powerful on any killer whose powers still count as basic attacks e.g. Nurse, Spirit, Deathslinger etc.
-
I don't know why but I've always liked Zarina. She looks really cool but is also fairly pretty I guess.
-
At the highest level of play, Survivor definitely seems to be the more powerful role. Kind of ironic considering that Killer is supposed to be the power role but I digress. If we're talking just a decent killer against a decent team on a relatively fair map then I think it's fairly balanced. Of course, any number of variables can change this.
