  • Yeah I like it actually, finding a key can change the entire dynamic of what's going to happen. It's fun. I've had some games where we're down to 2 at 2 gens remain and you know we're just waiting for the other to die.

Finding a key gives us hope.

Each time a generator is repaired, All windows pallets and dropped pallets within 40 metres of the completed generator are blocked For 35/40/45 secs and the survivors will be exhausted & blinded for the entire duration

    Calm Spirit

Secondary effect now only works against doctor, nobody notices a difference.

How about a survivor. Jane Romero.

  • @Yords said:

I think it would be better if you could say 1 nerf OR one buff.

Kindred - Any survivor within 4 meters of you gain the effects of kindred

    Respond to this: Trapper

Hey whatever way works. Both, either, neither.

All of trappers traps will automatically reset themselves but he now loses the power to lunge.

    Discordance.

I quit at the start of the match. Cause my perk build was so crap and my devour Hope was instantly gone there was no way I could play well or how I wanted. Though that profile name sounds familiar. The map was Father Campbells and I quit after slowly trying to mindgame a red headed Meg and failing because Wraith was so slow.

Yeah I wasn't in the game you DC'd on, I just thought I ran into you around the same time

  • I think I went against you earlier. Your build sounds identical to a wraith me and a friend went against.

Does Hex: Horny ######### ring any bells? I may have also been using the name WTB Pyramid Daddy.

If that was you, yeah you really weren't having a good night. After me and a friend escaped we watched as a prestige Cheryl teabagged at the exit then dead harded into a wall and got killed. She totally had it coming.

    lol riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight

  • When you play with randoms it often feels like a solo participation challenge, but in reality everyone is working together for the best possible outcome. Sometimes that outcome doesn't involve you getting to leave.

"Not everyone gets to go home for their actions to matter" is my catchphrase when being a survivor.

Sometimes the right move is to be left behind or to leave someone behind. Maybe they sucked or maybe they were selfish, but honestly you only lost out on 5000 blood points and the killer only got a single kill so you all kind of won even if you died. Always feels bad when it happens but hell sometimes I'll actually let myself die to silently tell the other survivors "get the ######### out. Don't throw away your lives on me."

  • No. I want off Mr. bones wild ride.

  • After being a Spirit main for so long I've been able to go against them pretty well. In the first couple minutes I can determine if she's a good Spirit or a bad one. If she's a good spirit I just have to think "What would I do if I were her?" and juke that, works like 80% of the time. If she's a bad spirit I just keep holding 'W' like the non looping god I am.

  • I only cleanse when broken, not when simply sick. I try to go to the furthest one I can reach without getting in her crosshairs.

You can't stop me. I am eternal.

  • Had a Dwight yesterday who seemed to be supporting the killer with how aggressive they were unhooking.

I was on the hook when a Jane went to unhook me. She got grabbed off the hook so naturally Dwight to the rescue pulls me off. The second I'm off I get downed again because the killer didn't go anywhere.

Killer hooks the Jane and Dwight immediately unhooks her while the killer picks me up and death hooks me.

Decided it was time for a break after that

  • Don't hurt my Clementine she's been through enough ;_;

I actually had this skirt glitch happen during Spirits mori. Jesus that was an eyeful.

I'll look forward to that day with my screenshot key at the ready.

  • I've had a couple of games (Literally two) where people told me to use breakdown with them. I told them I don't level Hobo Keanu but it's already definitely being abused.

  • I've had it a few times where they bodied me, waited at the exit to teabag, acted like they were going to give a free hit and then as I took the bait they walked out. Every time someone is acting like they're giving me a free hit I feel like they're just making fun of me, like if I walk over there they'll leave.

Sure I lost, but I'm not a dancing monkey for you and your friends to laugh hysterically at.

  • I've actually gotten more use out of DS now than I ever did before. This time I don't even have to sit on pocket DS waiting to get downed. The killer just pursues me from hook to knife all on their own.

  • Your family is going to die?

Hook suicides are just a bad idea to allow to begin with IMO.

I mean there are some strategic reasons to hook suicide, I myself have lost count of the times that I suicided to prevent my team from being stupid with alturism, or someone suicided once I found the hatch etc. There's elements of horror that ring very true with self-sacrifice, so it's even keeping with the theme of the horror genre to keep it in.

Sometimes we don't all get to go home, but as long as what we did mattered to those who yet live it was a life worth giving.

You use it for distance, not to dodge basic attacks.

    Oh.

    Today I learned.

  • I have a killer idea that I've been working off and on for the past couple of weeks. I was thinking of messaging some streamers to review my power/perk ideas to really help me refine it (I expect to be ignored, but I'll try anyways.) I'm really proud of the story I wrote for her too and I intended to post the idea here on the forums once it's complete. I have this weird fantasy in my head that maybe they'll take some of the ideas I posted and implement it in a future killer. Maybe the devs will never acknowledge that they even read my concept, but I'll see a character in a year that is almost identical to what I suggested in more ways than could be mere coincidence.

I know the odds are astronomically low for an insane amount of reasons, but it's something that I guess could count as a pipe dream.

  • @Yords said:

Ok but do you use dead hard?

Yes I've become an old pro at exhausting myself on the ground.

  • Just a suggestion that sounds like a good idea. How about to maintain suicide on hook we have a smaller skill check that you have to deliberately go for to suicide? Something like this red one I slapped in there.

  • If nobody buys the new killer then the development time was a loss, financially speaking. He is very very weak. Every time I'm in a game with him it's "oh free win.'

I haven't been wrong yet with that prediction

Wait a minute... "Freddy main" is filtered? Now I feel offended!

There there, you're simply too inappropriate for young impressionable minds caught in the hurricane that is post-game chat.

  • I've gotten a gamesense for NOED. I kind of just feel, "This killer isn't very good and they know it. Expect noed."

Then like 80% of the time I'm right.

  • "Eugh they have ___. GG I'm done."

  • @GeneralV said:

I love this community. I love DBD.

I always assume they just had a bad match before. I like to think they don't always play that way. Stupid optimist in me.

Normally if I go full toxic I am just tilted and want to feel like a big bully bastard killer to let off some steam. 99% of the time I don't do it, but sometimes a sequence of games can be so unideal and for some reason I just don't walk away like a sane person should. I just dive in and become the biggest dickhead on earth. Then I feel guilty for a bit, then move on, then repeat the cycle.

  • How did I get to red ranks? I have no idea. I didn't want to be here. In fact the depipping bug was the best thing that happened to me because I was a depip machine and had some really fun games.

I'm not competitive, I'm not a tryhard, I play with maybe 1 friend at most. However the game insists that I am in fact a red rank survivor and killer. It's like "Why?"

I don't watch youtuber tutorials, I can't loop for crap, I can't guarantee a decisive strike or great skill check, I'm not great at stealth, I have only a basic amount of general gamesense.

I shouldn't be here at all. I don't even know HOW several killers work let alone their addons. How does Plague work? IDK don't get caught. Why does Pig do that lions roar? She just does. Freddy? ######### that dude.

So thank you for the explanation. I would've never known otherwise. Get me the hell out of tryhard redranks. I don't belong here, I don't deserve it, I don't want it. This is such a weird game. I spent so much time in my life climbing the ranks of games like Overwatch, Street Fighter, Starcraft etc. I looked with excitement and elation as my skill got better alongside my opponents.

This game though? Oh man this game. "######### I ranked up... when's reset again?"

  • Just be a douche canoe. Having a bad day? Facecamp with leatherface. Make a ton of slugs and watch them bleed out. Do whatever you can to just piss them off even more. You don't have to win, you just can ensure they aren't having a good time. That's kind of the idea of a killer, yeah?

  • Yeah I've noticed it too but people are saying that MMR isn't in yet. I swear I had some very non sweaty games recently and I've been seeing rainbow rank matches out of nowhere sometimes.

  • I kill myself if I'm ever against a Freddy. I've played against him enough that I'm already tilted at seeing his stupid sweater.

  • @Mooks said:

    DS and OoO.

oh wait, are we supposed to ignore survivor related nerfs in this thread or is it unbiased?

    Unbiased.

  • @MadLordJack said:

So you're just gonna ignore the fact that people have been calling for NOED to be reworked into a much more fair format for years now, long before Undying was released?

I don't think there's anything wrong Noed but it's obviously going to be nerfed. Thought it would be fun to figure out what other things will be called for a nerf later.

    Maybe stridor? Or Pop.

  • Whatever happened to sticks and stones? It's really not that big of a deal, some dude you don't know who doesn't know you said something to be a dick. Shrug it off and move on? The only consequences from his poor wishes are you get a little sad that someone was rude to you.

The sooner you shrug it off the less it matters.

  • Is MMR out already? Yesterday I was having a ton of great matches, where even if the killer got a 4k it felt like a good match. With the exception of two (face camping leatherface and a freddy) it was all a pretty fun night.

  • Are you a ghostface main by chance?

  • @GannTM said:

I don't want a nerf, I just want proper counterplay with more rewards on the survivor end when they do counter Spirit.

I don't know I feel like having her move the grass under her and visually be able to see where she's going would make it a one sided affair. The survivors will know exactly where she is, but she won't know where they are. It would be very easy to just follow the footsteps and make distance while she's just making her most educated guess.

  • I main spirit and I really like where she's at right now. I don't think she needs a nerf because I still get survivors who absolutely demolish me with some regularity. I win some, lose some. Still can't handle bully squads at all.

There is literally no way to justify buffing either DH or DS, or BT for that matter even though you haven't suggested a buff for that.

The reason these perks are complained about is the same as the reason camping and slugging are complained about.

There is so much entertainment, skill requirement, atmosphere, and gameplay lost on both sides that the effectiveness is completely irrelevant for the other side.

There's no element to them that justifies any sort of respect. The skill required is almost a non factor, it's frustrating for the other side to work with, and people still expect to be told that they played well and made the match entertaining for using them.

DS, DH, and BT are so disgusting that you don't even deserve a "GG WP" if you run them.

They are, without a doubt, the survivor equivalent of Freddy, except Freddy still requires you to pay attention to the game to have a chance.

Yeah I think borrowed time is in a pretty good place as it stands, I don't think it needs a buff at all. High risk, high reward, taking someone off the hook in front of a killer has so many ways of going wrong and only one way it can end well. Normally ends in trading lives.

  • Did you see why I said to buff DS? The same reason I think dead hard needs an improvement, usability. Decisive Strikes requires a ton of prerequisites to be activate-able and you may not even get to use it a lot of your games. With the new nerfs to DS it makes it even far more limited in its usability as in you as the player will not see the prompt very often.

With that consideration in mind, with all the stars that have to line up to even see a decisive strike prompt, it makes sense to just let it automatically activate. Imagine running that perk, never seeing it for a lot of games, then the one time you actually do get to use it, you fumbled the skill check. GG get wreckt, you wasted that perk slot for one more game who knows when you'll see it again. It just feels bad.

The buff I suggested was just that instead of offering a chance to whiff it, it just works automatically. As a survivor main it always feels like DS is activated 100% of the time when it's in play anyways, might as well make that true? Just because I main a killer doesn't mean I play the meta game of "What can they nerf on the survivor side."

I always just feel so badly when people get upset here and like to suggest compromises or general improvements so even if people lose their favorite toy they still have something to be happy with.

This thread was about DH though.

Ok so im chasing an injured survivor, and your injured working on a gen, you let go because we are heading straight for you, and when you are side by side i lunge and could hit either one of you. Do i get to activate both your dead hards?

    That's a very good question!

    I have no idea.

If any, that perk needs a nerf lmao. Those delusional survivor mains.

    But I'm a killer main.

  • @GannTM said:

You want to buff Dead Hard? You trying to break the game more than it already is?

I feel like looking at the mechanics of a skill and improving the user experience of its intended functionality can happen at the same time they're balancing the game. One can incidentally be a buff while still improving the way it feels as a player, then they can balance it the other way if need be while maintaining that functional improvement.

For example; totems being less buggy on its spawns (e.g. impossible locations to reach) would be a buff for survivors and a nerf for killers but ruin/undying still needed to be nerfed altogether.

  • @kingcarl2012 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/231014/dead-hard-buff-idea

Seeing as how one of the main uses in dead hard while looping is to pre-emptively use it to get to a pallet/window before the killer swings how would this work? Also as it stands a killer can bait dead hard to land a hit, with the change that would go away as it auto activates when they swing.

Let dead hard be activateable like it normally is, just a single 'E' key with all the latency issues it currently has, then in addition have it activate the QTE style prompt if a hit connects for timing. That way a survivor can either decide to use it on their own terms if they think hitting the next tile is more important than dodging a hit, or to get a second chance at not being dead if they're already completely screwed.

Either way would still exhaust them.
