The other day my friend I was playing with accused the killer of tunneling.
My friend was hooked first, I unhooked them and healed them at hook.
During this time a Yui started a chase and kept it going from before I unhooked, until me and a friend found a generator and started working on it. A Vittorio finished their generator.
The Yui finally got hit, my friend spied a dull totem and started blessing it.
The killer realized they were going to lose another gen before the got the Yui down and broke chase. They saw my friend, downed them quickly.
"This killer is tunneling!" They shouted.
I uh. I don't think we're using the same word to define tunneling. People are just going to accuse of tunneling, especially when tilted.
-
24 Second base heal. 30 with sloppy.
So if someone gets hooked and the killer is forcing a trade by camping. You can easily find yourself in a situation where you won't be able to heal each other before going for the rescue. People are gonna be left to die on hook way more.
Can't count the amount of times I've had to find another injured survivor before going for a rescue and barely making it in time. Not even considering the time it takes to find each other.

That's a reflection of them not you. Sure kindness being rewarded with kindness is great, it's just and it's fair. But we don't live in a world where any of those things are a given, in fact quite the opposite. Often times crudeness, perversion of justice and selfishness gets the most in measurable quantities.
With that in mind being kind is a personal choice. If you're choosing to be that way, then why? What are you getting out of it? What do you want to see out of it? What would make kindness rewarding to you? Do you want to see the game take on that quality and pass along the good vibes? Do you want to feel good about yourself because the alternative makes you feel ugly? Do you do it because you're being considerate and want everyone to have a good time? Are you choosing kindness to shield yourself from the admonishment of your peers?
If you have to doubt your kindness reflect on it. Why are you doing it? Why are you picking kind behavior? And if you're not getting what you want from being kind then why continue to do it? It's obviously causing frustration.

but i mean you earned p100 why not flaunt it? ^_^
I'll answer the questions.
First off, and most importantly. I'm not very precious about my rank. I didn't really 'earn' it as much as I just had to suffer through a disgustingly nauseating amount of blood webs because my blood points kept capping. It wasn't something I wanted to earn, it was forced on me from a fear of 'wasting' unspent bloodpoints. p0 or p100 I just really don't care. Make it a thousand. It's meaningless to me. I got more meaning from my James and black haired Cheryl cosmetic and all I did was break out the credit card for it. So flaunting it doesn't matter any more than being max level in an MMORPG. It's just a thing that happens.
Secondly, I have all the survivors and a lot of cosmetics. Sometimes I'm just in a different mood. I have so many experimental and meme builds that 3 slots isn't enough for me so having other survivors to change up the look and build is refreshing.
To answer why 'hide it?' Because often times people will lobby dodge, and the only people who stick around are those who are ready to sweat and believe it's challenge time or those who just don't care.
For the latter that's fine, but the former they will regularly tunnel me out from the game immediately. It seems to be that they think if they remove the 'strongest' from the game very fast they'll get an easy win. Which is true, because if you tunnel anyone out and turn it into a 3v1 the game will be easy. But I'm the obvious target. I've had killers start the game, and hunt me down. Straight up go across the map, ignore other survivors beyond chasing them off gens, and never commit to a chase until they see me.
Heck a few games ago I had a Bubba down someone, leave them slugged, and found me on a gen across the map, ignored the other two, then hooked me to facecamp. All the while smacking me on hook over and over again nodding. Like "I don't know you. I didn't even do anything to you."
After enough games like that where Killers make toxic comments about my level I just decided it's not my cup of tea. I don't sweat, I don't run dead hard, I don't even run the meta unless I'm really tilting and just want a game to go right. I don't even feel like it's deceptive or lying about my rank to be on another character because my rank doesn't immediately mean I'm a smurf trying to run a super sweaty build in a super sweaty SWF. I just run around being stupid.
Also keep in mind, this is a casual party game, your performance is always going to be weighted by RNG almost as heavily as a Mario Kart game. Sure there's a competitive circuit, but people play Smash on Final Destination no items only Fox/Shiek and call it a 'tournament game' as well despite the core being entirely RNG.

I believe it's to promote BHVR's upcoming game called "Meet Your Maker" (in which you have to collect genetic material known as Genmat). From what people on Twitter were saying, you have to escape after picking up the genmat to unlock charms/cosmetics.
Heyo what? I can start collecting genetic material in DBD?
Niiiice.

I really hate the gameplay mechanic of "Oh you're at a loop? You're going to get hit for that." Where he drops his guard and it's damned if you do, damned if you don't. With most killers you have the chance to dodge, or think around their power. Sure sometimes you get hit, and sometimes you don't. But when you get hit it feels earned, when you get away it also feels earned.
With Knight it's just. "Oh guard is coming out and he's only going 5 meters with it." Which means he's back in his body basically instantly. Even if I manage to dodge the guard, he's still going to hit me.
There's also the camp that others talked about. Even if I escape it still wasn't a super fun experience. I hate Knight. Sure I won't rage quit but I do appreciate when others do because I can move onto the next game faster.

It appears that not everyone appreciated the sheer magnitude of this bird's potential. Carmina is a wonderful bird momma (But I maintain that Vommy Mommy is the true momma bird.) The artist deserves a hefty boy to do some real hefty damage. For your viewing pleasure here is the perfect image to express how significant the fat bird is. A real feast for the eyes. Much thanks to @C3Tooth for the wonderful depiction of this fat thing.
I'm in awe at the size of this lad, an absolute unit.

Wraith is no thirsty matter, he's like the Garrus of the Dead by Daylight cinematic universe. An old companion. Familiar. Odd, yet comforting. But time makes strangers of us all I'm afraid.
The world has changed him and I very much miss my chattering friend. He's not himself anymore. I think he's been hanging out with bad influences.

I see I'll have to reclaim my mantle as the Resident Forums Pyramid Main, because clearly others cannot be trusted with the title.
You'll never forget your first love, my heart will always sing for Pyramid but I think he'll be okay if I desire a different melody.
Will you still tunnel me when we meet? Punish me? (Also still waiting to run across Akumakaji in a game.)
-
I said the same thing a few months ago that Otz did, and people poked fun at me and my opinion saying "No the current meta with Eruption actually entices killers to go on chases."
But now that a big streamer said it, suddenly it's a valid observation.

@TigerSnake said:
Nerfing Eruption just isn't enough for you is it?
Well I'm not sure how to nerf it functionally. I wasn't really suggesting a specific nerf in any direction. I wanted to bring up that it encourages tunneling and when stacked with other shutdown perks the gameplay becomes very unfun and a complete turnoff. By definition though Dead by Daylight is very Killer versus Survivor so I know the survivors fun is non of the killers concern by design. But it should be the developers concern. If there was a way to keep it's overall strength without shutting down survivors actions/ability to complete gens for nearly a minute per down+hook (with a potential of hitting 3 survivors max per proc) I would argue that would be a fine direction.
No idea what that would look like though. I'd like to be able to constantly be involved in making decisions, choices, and meaningful actions whenever I play a game.
I know the below picture is DMS but it still illustrates the kind of gameplay that isn't really gameplay. It's just waiting. Most times it's just waiting to lose.

i dont think completely invalidating a power is really something a survivor deserves for timing something right, but to each their own.
should have explained more w billy, i mean you cant dash around the map and get a sick down, you have to just stop your power and either play like bubba or go for m1s
oni demon dash is useless v dh, if they have a tile its a lose-lose
Survivors invalidate a killers power for timing all the time. That's the bread and butter of the games mechanics. By timing your 360's, your jukes, your vaults, and loops. The entire goal of the survivors is to invalidate and prevent a Killers entire arsenal of tools against them.

I actually enjoy most of the cast - the ones I hate to be chased by are actually in minority - Artist, Trickster, Twins and most recently the Knight
However my problem with this even though I love getting chased, in solo q there's a thin line between - I will get camped and tunneled because I dared to ask to be chased/will NEVER get unhooked by randoms who will crouch in the corner so that is automatically my first and last chase and I will have an amazing match with fun mind games multiple times and won't care if I die or escape by the end so I do not even risk it these days
I get that. Luckily I've taken the mindset of "If they let me die then I can move onto the next game so much quicker."

I love facing Hags, weirdly enough - she's my main, and, unless they are just hard camping, I find them a completely unique experience. I guess her being ridiculously rare also helps.
Otherwise...hmm. Nurses can be pretty fun to play against, unless they are just hard tunneling. Huntress is another.
Probably the #1 would be Artist, as she's another killer I adore playing and there's a ton of play/counterplay with her birbs.
I really like going against Nurses too. It's like challenge mode. But I normally get decimated by any good one especially on solo queue. I used to love going against artist but lately it seems like I''m not good against her. I keep going down to the dumbest and most predictable birds.
-
I've used it to great effects when dealing with one particular gen that a Killer wants to defend and the other people want to flock to it like moth to the flames. You can get a gen to like 90-95% and the killer chases everyone off, the killer kicks it. They chase someone, someone else gets on, gets kicked again, back and forth. It's a war of attrition where the Killer is effectively holding 2-3 people hostage and they will eventually close the deal.
With potential energy you can run to a safe gen, get full stacks, and when the Killer is distracted for 2 seconds you can nuke that gen to completion.
Very specific but the few times I did that it was entirely game changing.
It progresses the game, and it stops the other solos from killing themselves due to sunken cost.

To answer my own question. I feel like with the right melee weapon and a proper first hit I'd have a chance with many of them. IlliterateGenocide has the right of it with the Hag. She's frail and basically bones, as long as her licker-like claws have a shorter range than a baseball bat I think I'd be in good order with her.
Nurse, if I could get a solid swing in I feel like she'd get staggered incredibly easy. Heck on a normal day she can't even handle her own power very well, so a few solid strikes would probably end her suffering.
Pig and Spirit are two other ones I'd have a decent shot at. Pig because she's not really a combatant (Neither am I honestly) and I think my adrenaline would be a match for her wrist blade. Spirit's sword would be pretty damning and I don't like those odds, but I feel like I'd have a chance greater than zero. Also if Freddy is attacking me head on and not in the dream world, well he's basically just a dude right? I also like to think I could brain Trickster pretty decently if I took him by surprise. Ghost Face would probably seem fairly human as far as potential killers go, but man he can take some serious punishment.
The rest of them there's no way. I'd just die.
Except with Pyramid I would try to appeal to his base instincts and plead for a few moments full of life. Hopefully his mercy will take the form of compassion born from James Sunderland's cursed wishes and we'd share a terrifying yet survivable evening. Then he'd move on, condemned by his own existence to execute some other tormented soul. In a way after that evening he'd have fulfilled his duty in killing me, as I would have become an entirely different person by the time day broke, but I'd still be me enough to appreciate the time we had together.

@Peppa_Pigsaw said:
It doesn't matter who's at the door, we're all losers on the internet up against a literal and in many cases supernaturally powered serial killer. We are all dead.
There's always a power fantasy. To think for a shining moment that with a burst of adrenaline and the circumstances before you that you'd be strong and clever enough to get the upper hand. Who hasn't looked around their house and lost themselves in a daydream about fighting off would be attackers and becoming a hero, especially after watching an action flick. I daresay most people have watched a horror movie and at least once thought 'This is what I would have done better.'
Yes you're entirely correct. Many of them are supernatural, and we'd all need 90-120 minutes of runtime to figure out their weakness, the rules of their existence, and how to get the upper hand in a climactic and cinematic fight. But we don't have enough friends to pad kill time, and I think with how our community is none of us are worthy of the final girl title. So instead we get seven minutes to play, that's all the time they have to spare.

Some games the Killer just wants nothing to do with me. Everyone will be injured, on death hook, and me sitting pretty at full health no hooks. I'll make myself as attractive as possible, they'll hit me then move on. I'll body block, they'll slug me and move on. For a hook trade, they go for the other one. Sometimes killer just REALLY don't want anything to do with me and it looks so bad when I get hatch and it's like 'I swear I would've taken a hook if I could.'
-
I dunno a lot of times if there's me and another survivor I'll just point to a locker and go on a chase for a final hurrah. If after that the killer slugs me for the 4k then it's like either the other survivor tries to hide, for four minutes, tries to save me and we waste time running until we both die, or the killer just gets really good luck and finds the dude.
I get tempted to DC. The game is already over for me, it's a loss. I'm okay with that. I don't need to vibe for 4 minutes or watch a poor fool get hunted at the expense of alturism.
GG I'll DC good luck with hatch, I rarely DC so I'll eat a 5 minute penalty no worries.
I mean at that point I've already lost. I have nothing to gain by staying.
-

Dragon Ball Breakers was so disappointing. Pay for the game only to get hit with a pay to win gacha system stacked with a battle pass system.
Come on. Friday the 13th got dunked on by the cutoff of dev support and the lawsuits, Mercenaries got destroyed because of Capcom's 'pay to level' system and cheaters, Evil Dead went EGS exclusive, VHS seemed to have zero actual lasting power, Home Sweet Home Survive was a glitchy unpolished and non localized mess, and now we have Dragon Ball Breakers which just stacked monetization schemes and considered the gameplay as ancillary rather than the entire damn point.
Now on to the next Asymmetrical Horror announcement to get hype for that will crush my dreams.
