Ah yes, the typical “survivors are crybabies” circlejerk thread.
I mean they're my survivors. Yes they are crybabies. I am too! I am them and they are me, and together we make a whole tantrum.

Is it back online?

OK, let me be serious now. This post was a mocking of my playstyle during these games however I was running some tests to find out the following, running roughly 7-10 games.
- how viable is blood warden solely in the end game. For this I did not take part in the games, until this game, until the final gen was done. This was to test many bad games in a row, no matter if they were sweaty survivors, potatoes or any where in between. The survivors were not supposed to know I was playing badly on purpose, I did test that but completely failed the test.
- How persistent survivors would be in wanting that totem out of the game. I used thrill because I did not want to be too close to it for the growls to be heard and did not want to face it to set off spine chill. One game survivors spent about 10-15 minutes solely intent on that totem being taken out of the game. They almost got it at one point when they all body blocked the one cleansing it.
- Because I'm not a bully survivor and don't afk with killer, with the exception of these tests, I wanted to see if the players would bully the killer, be sympathetic or just want to farm those lost points. I had 2 teams just t bag at the gates, 2 teams wiped out to blood warden (sorry to you guys, you were the sympathetic ones and I did feel bad), other teams either all left straight away or 2 left and 1 team knew my intention the very second I downed one of them and left (the smart team)
As I say I don't normally play like this and was just running some tests and I understand what I was doing was no better than a basement bubba, maybe worse but I did hit them or down them if the touched my totem so they did get altruism at least. Anyway tests are complete and normal playstyle has resumed :)
Huh.
Okay.

The amount of money I spent on killers this week switching over to my PS4 I'm starting to feel scammed, and now we wont even have a chance for change for another week. I can't believe Capcom have put their IP next to this mess.
I mean capcom put their name next to RE6 and Resistance in addition to the original RE4 pc port.
They're no strangers to dumpster fires.

I was going to say "Hell yeah me too, solidarity baby. Performance NEEDS to be looked at, and I would love for the grind to be easier." But it seems like other people are alright with how things are now based on the replies.
I love Resident Evil, I hella want the skins and the claire legendary. I'm holding off on it for now though. Just waiting, see if things get better before dumping more money into this.
-
At this point the sets will have to stay linked no matter what. An official mod has come out and stated 'They were always meant to be linked due to licensing.'
Even if that isn't true, it has to be true now. BHVR can't go back and say 'We lied to you.' That would be a huge PR fiasco.
They have to commit to it 100%. If it's a truth or a lie, it doesn't matter because that is the truth now.

You know what, yeah when you describe it like that you're right. 2.5 seems fair.
If I take the bait will you improve the score?

Note to self. Hit generators to bait survivors out of hiding

So they nerfed Demogorgon and Blight, and didn't even mention it on PTB. Typical.
Edit: and they reverted Franklin's to the original version, indirectly buffing keys as a result. YIKES.
How so?

You need to change your password, not just here but anywhere you used that password. Right before my email got broken into and my other accounts (like battle net, steam, Facebook) became someone's new toy my psn account fell first.
Think of it as a canary in a coal mine. Don't argue with us, you are losing time if heaven forbid someone is in your stuff.
-
Hyperawareness -
A life of trauma has taught you to never let your guard down. Increase the sound of breathing and footsteps of killer by 50%. Additionally the killers terror radius is now increased by 4/6/8 meters.
Born Leader -
It seems no matter where you are people look to you for guidance. Any generator or totem you interact with will reveal their aura to fellow survivors within 8/12/16 meters.
Absolute Thirst -
Everyone you meet is a possible love connection. In an attempt to leave a lasting first impression whenever a killer loses chase on you for the first time your Action speeds in Repairing, Healing, Sabotaging, Unhooking, Vaulting, Cleansing, Opening, and Unlocking are increased by 15/18/21% for 90 seconds.
Additionally, you start sprinting at 150% of your normal running speed for a maximum of 3 seconds.
Absolute Thirst ignores an existing Exhaustion timer, but causes the Exhausted Status Effect for 60/50/40seconds.
Activation of Absolute Thirst will result in you becoming the Obsession.

I'm running a 3900x and a 3080. Before Struggle was updated I would regularly get frame drops enough where I'd just fail at struggle no matter what I did. Spamming the button, using a macro button, making sure DBD was the only active program (Yes closing my tabs in my browser, closing discord, everything.)
This game is just optimized like garbage.

I mean every time the killer downs me it's literally an attack on my person.

That frustrating feeling when the killer gives someone the hatch after they unsafe unhooked you, did no generators, and were so absent from the game they never lost a health state.

i don't like the sound of this context
As much as the entire episode of Scott's Tots hurts and is an unbearable mess of an episode, this chili is far far worse. DBD should be censoring this out instead.

I didn't have a platform to bring this up and it seemed silly to make a thread for it. I tried maining a pig before and just really sucked at it. Today I ran across a pig that was really really good at mind games, like holy crap. They were like 5 steps ahead of me every time. It was impressive to keep my eyes on them like 90% of the time, I'd lose LOS which to me meant 'Okay great now I can be unpredictable.' and I'd turn a corner BAM right there.
I was on the tractor working on bones, they were sneaking towards me which I saw plain as day. I waited for them to start going up the ramp and quietly vaulted over. As soon as I landed BAM right there with facefull of drill bit.
Was insane. They earned that win.

Me too sometimes I'll bring a broken key just to get tunneled for funsies. Bonus points if you equip it in the last 6 seconds before match starts.

Said no one ever.
Said a person who is a crap survivor but has won matches against Spirit. She has a low skill floor for good returns but honestly if you're a crap killer you're going to have some really bad matches against survivors regardless.
People are acting like she's an instant 4k every time before a single gen is complete when the spirit is brand new and it's a swf death squad.
She isn't.
Besides her low skill floor makes it accessible for new killers, and with survivor queues the way they are its a good thing to have a killer people are willing to play.
But survivors don't care about that. They aren't thinking about how unhealthy it is to get their win 100% of the time while being able to tea bag the exit gate with their team.
-
Spirit is honestly fine.
-
Just do separate totems, ruin only matters after two have been done and the map is smaller. If you're all divided then one of you is bound to run into it just in general gameplay.
-
Seems like the Upside down and the Entity are duking it out to see who gets dominon over his mortal soul.
-
I tried to edit the OP to make it more easily readable. I took some liberties so it was paraphrased instead of a direct quote.
- "Please fix Dead Hard and not Linger for 2 Months. Killer and Survivor nerfs need equality!
It's ridiculous to press Dead Hard when perfectly timed with the Killers attack and still end up on the ground while acquiring the 'Exhausted' Debuff. I feel like if you press that button whenever the Killer swings at you it should be a miss, simple as that. It absolutely needs to be fixed when a Killer swings through the Dead Hard and still manage to get hit during the animation, or even before the animation fully starts up. Once you end up dead on the ground you still get the exhausted debuff which shows somewhere the system registered it. This needs to be fixed.
I find the double standard crazy that when a Survivor gets a bug that works against them such as the vacuum pallets and unstunnable killers (Where it's basically coup de grace without equipping it) it didn't get fixed for weeks. However, if you let a survivor get a bug where they can't get hit during a vault animation the (Killer) tears that come from that will be fixed within a single day.
Please devs, I'm begging you make it fair and make it have sense.
Before you attack me Killer mains I want you to know I have exactly zero sympathy for you. I am a survivor main through and through and never touch killer unless there's a ritual yet I'm still a rank 2 killer somehow. I've never touched a killer's blood web nor leveled them and I can still destroy red ranks and SWF murder squads with one Tier 1 Perk and no addons no matter what killer ritual I end up with. Killer's get a power, 4 perks and add-ons to get a 4k if they understand the bare basics of how to play and a little bit of meta knowledge.
I can do all that with zero perks and my galaxy brain.
'But SuRvIVOrS are s0000 op" (Killers would argue) and (killers I think?) will shed tears whenever we (Killer mains? Not including the OP I think. They implied Killer mains but said we so I'm trying to parse that.) get nerfed or get bugs that cripple us for weeks on end. (I really couldn't figure out this sentence.)
Make the nerfs make sense, we need equality in urgency of patches and nerfs.
Shoutout to the community and killer mains I still have mad love for you ♥"
----
No bully intended, but I tried to make it more readable. I like to write a lot and I was in an editing mood.

If you can loop a Spirit with Stridor while injured, then I'll agree.
And plz share your winning technique
(dropping strong pallets early doesn't count)
There's more to this game than looping. There's also mind games, just holding W. Et cetera. Honestly if you can keep a chase going for 30 seconds or longer you're already basically an absolute god. At that point it's up to your team mates to bring it home.
-
I feel like Spirit is pretty much fine as she is?
-
But that clip had nothing to do with you fighting her phasing at all. Additionally I'm not sure what fixated really did for you there?

We'll all join the dead someday. One day when tilting hard enough, or we'll take a troll threads bait. Look towards your future comrades with respect, the ones who fell in a moment of blind unbridled passion. Someday you too will stare at your name with a 'banned' icon.
Or not I'm not a prophet.
-
I said it before and I'll say it again.
Itchy and Tasty based on the journal entry
"Itchy, tasty" is a memorable phrase from the 1996 game Resident Evil, in which an animal keeper slowly loses his mind due to t-Virus infection. The wording for this phrase was intentionally corrupted, along with other parts of the file, to demonstrate the progression of the disease. As such, it is spelt as kayui uma(かゆいうま?) as opposed to kayui umai(かゆいうまい?); leaving out the "い" renders translations as "itchy horse". The Resident Evil Archives has an entry on it, though it is uncertain if the Breven if nobody else calls them that I still will.
-
I don't want to unhook people. I keep running borrowed time and we'll make it only for other people to get the unhook instead of me. I feel like I'm wasting two perk slots and I would be better spending my time working on a gen and simply praying someone else is going for the rescue.

I don't feel fear when facing a Spirit. Most of the time I just get annoyed because it will be a super boring match.
No horror game induces fear after 10 hours. Especially a multiplayer game. If you're getting "easily defeated" as killer, then that's on you.
That's actually on BHVR. Any game with matchmaking should pair bad players with bad players and good with good for balanced games. If someone is defeated 90% of the time due to low skill that is a bad matchmaking system.
-
I like her aesthetic and general theme.
I like her playstyle, the idea of "I can't see you but you can't see me." Is really fun.
I like her low skill for decent games. DBD has a problem where you have to get better to do well in the rank you're in, otherwise you will constantly get people who will destroy you. Compared to other games where you're expected to 50-50 win losses and only improve rank if you start say getting 60% wins.
She makes me feel scary.
It pisses people off and this community is pretty toxic so it's sometimes fun to see angry losers more than bad winners.
Of course that's not too say I 4k with her all the time, I still have very fundamental flaws with my killer game that good survivors can identify and lean into it. It's not some magic wand that makes me a god. It does turn a 0k into a 2k though, which is nice. (Compared to my other main, pig.)
-
I over committed the other day in Gideon's and was too far from the gate, in the lower levels, looking for that rat bastard. He spawned like 10 feet from the hatch.
Lucky me.

The only thing Calm Spirit does in 95% of matches is worry your teammates because the lack of scream makes it sound like you’re dead on hook
It affects hook state screams? I didn't actually know that.
Edit: I asked my friend who I play with. They admitted that it's unnerving and eerie how I just silently go down and get hooked. I never considered that.
-
I had a game where I dodged Victor 3 times in a row and each time I tried to stomp on him, the bar refusing to fill up that last pixel before he could move. Then he downed me.
Another time I dodged him twice, same story, stomp stomp he gets to run free then mess me up.
Felt bad man.
-
Decisive Strike got nerfed and Lucky Break ended up not being as OP as people expected. Now people are making fun of Dead hard for being 'Press E to win.'
If they get their way and nerf dead hard to the ground people will start begging for Iron Will to be nerfed for 'Countering me without doing anything.'
Then after that it'll probably be Unbreakable or Borrowed time.

Hungry and Tasty

That could work if DBD also introduced a general 'set-up' phase of a match start. You know pick your Hex spots, set up Hag or Trapper Traps, et cetera.

Hey an auto ban system will be fun, maybe I'll stream stridor Spirit gameplay until I get banned so there's no doubt that I played clean.

I complain about work and I complain about leisure. I'll complain about free time and not enough in equal measure. I'll complain about everything and anything I can see feel or hear at some point in my life.
I'd like to think others are doing that too and like you I'd like to complain about that as well.
-
Actually would Starstruck be good on a spirit? I wonder...
-
Stridor is fine the way it is really. We have more pressing issues to concern ourselves with if we're talking about nerfing x y and z

Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence. Either this is bait, or I trust you have a lot of solid and strong evidence.
If you have no evidence it should be very easy to collect some with how rampant it is.
Edit: this also could just be an advertisement for esp cheat.

@Moundshroud @ChiSoxFan11 @Hex_Llama @Friendly_Blendette
Oh goodness there was a lot of helpful advice given in response. I really appreciate everyone taking the time to analyze it in depth and give thoughtful feedback on how I can improve. The responses were far more than I ever expected, and everyone added something new to comment on.
I meant to write a novel in response to everyone's commentary, maybe go point by point as to 'why' I was doing what I did but I think I'll just keep my responses more general.
One thing that came pretty much on everyone's critique is how much I crouched. It's a weird habit of mine, I'd say 30% of the time I crouched because whispers procced and I wanted to get the jump on someone, the other 40% I thought I could use a lunge to mindgame somewhere, and the rest was my saying to myself "Wait what the hell am I doing?" I wish my microphone was on because there was a lot of "Wait no that's stupid." Self identifying some of these issues.
Another thing that came up a few times was my use of Whispers. It's not really my favorite perk, honestly it seems kind of weak to me. However I keep reading people say Whispers, Monitor, Enduring and BBQ was a fantastic combo for Pig so I was trying to work my way towards that goal. I was hearing people say that pig has a built in slowdown and I shouldn't use perks for additional slowdown, instead focus on beefing up what she lacks.
As far as abandoning chases. This is another part I wish my mic was working on these recordings. I just straight up lost people sometimes, maybe I was getting frustrated (Especially on the SWF) but there were moments where I just realized I had no idea where the hell anyone was anymore. When I got to a generator and saw nobody there but signs of them being there I was thinking "Maybe they moved to another gen? Maybe I'm wasting too much time looking for them." and wanted to pursue hunting them down when they were probably right next to me (As whispers often says.) I think that is one thing that makes me make bad plays, I fear wasting my time so much that I end up wasting more.
I fear dedicating too much time to a chase (Especially when the survivors are on a strong loop) when I could be making progress somewhere else. So I hit one, realize the next hit is going to take some time and my time could be better spent elsewhere. Which means a net zero when nothing positive comes from it. It is frustrating dedicating a whole minute or two to downing one person and a gen pops while you're hooking them, doesn't feel like a fantastic trade.
As far as opening the exit gate on the SWF goes. I was kind of hoping to pressure them to make their move or GTFO, cut their loses. Everything snowballed against me pretty fast from there. I saw realize two were healing and I thought I could control their pathing to maybe get a solid hit in before the rescue (Pressure them to trade lives) but then the guy tricked me with the noise ping (I thought it was a bad skill check on a heal) and once I realized the other one had scrambled to go for the rescue he was all I had left and I had to make it count.
I also struggled a bit with wanting to be 'polite' and follow the survivors handbook. I know it's all bullshit and people will be angry at you if you win, but there's some stupid part of me that doesn't want to make it too bullshit on survivors that is a bit of a limiter whenever I do get an upper hand.
Another thing I'm kind of 'Oh ######### it's so obvious'ing about is the commentary on how I never seem to have a plan of attack for generators. It seems stealth and proper scouting go out the window in the midgame for me since there is always 'something' going on to distract me. I see a survivor, I hear a gen, I feel like someone's gotta be close, and that keeps distracting me from being focused and methodical on the bigger picture. Everything becomes so gosh darn chaotic and everything is happening at once and the next thing I know the game is over, all the gens are complete and it all fell. That's the biggest takeaway from the feedback, for me to be more thoughtful in the bigger picture whenever I do anything, and meaningfully patrol the entire map to see what's going on globally. I always feel some general fear of going to the really far gens, I feel like what if I walk all the way there and there's no progress, or worse I get there just as it pops and the trip was for naught. I need to shake that fear and just eat the travel time.
Again thank you all so much for the advice. I'm going to try and put these things into practice in a few games and see if I can make some meaningful improvement in my style.
Here's to not crouching 24/7.
