Fun fact: The speed boost only applies while the generator is revealed, meaning it only saves you like 3 seconds at most.

For reference
It’s a bit jarring, I agree. I think it’s just a matter of getting used to it, though.
Its too slow for a chase theme, honestly, it felt like I was chasing through molasses while hearing it. Nothing was mentioned in the patch notes, so it might be a bug? I have no idea.
-
A lot more rare, at least for now. (Taken from the July Dev Update)
-
Honestly, I think 5 Second DS stacked with Off The Record could end up being a bit much. You'd be able to basically throw yourself at the killer for a teammate and be fine.
I think they should add something to make facecamping less effective though, alongside nerfing some of the overbearing slowdown perks (especially when stacked).

I had an idea kind of like this a couple of weeks ago:
@ReverseVelocity said:
While I was playing today, I had a pretty cool idea for a new score event. It would be a new score event called Divine Intervention (or something similar, I just think the name sounds cool). Whenever a teammate is assisted by your Boon's effects, you would get a small amount of bloodpoints in the altruism category.
The trigger conditions and BP amounts would also vary from boon to boon:
Boon: Dark Theory & Boon: Shadow Step: Triggers the Score event whenever a chase is broken while a teammate is under the Boon's effects. (300 BP)
Boon: Exponential: Triggers whenever a teammate self-recovers while under the Boon's effects. (500 BP)
Boon: Circle of Healing: Triggers whenever a heal is completed in the radius of the Boon. (250 BP)
Obviously none of the values or names would need to be set in stone, I just like the idea of getting bloodpoints for providing a benefit to your team. This would be a small, but very neat addition to Boons.

This still isn't fixed, does anyone at BHVR have an ETA of when it might be?
-
It only lasts while the Generator's revealed AFAIK. It'll only save you about 3 seconds at the absolute maximum, I think.

You can check the patch notes, or the June/July Developer updates:
CONTENT "Tome 12: DISCORDANCE" of The Archives (starts July 20th 11AM ET) Added 5 maze tiles to the pool in the McMillan Estate map GAMEPLAY Generators take 90 seconds for a single survivor to repair (was 80 seconds) Killers kicking a generator now immediately cause a 2.5% loss of progress in addition to starting…During our 6th Anniversary Broadcast, we announced a new progression system and a meta-shifting perk overhaul. Yeah basically, except it makes you open the gates faster too.

Really? I used it on Quentin and the Killer downed him right after, maybe there is a period of time where it doesn't apply (like the going up animation), otherwise I have no clue why it didn't protect him.
No idea, I'd file a Bug Report just in case.
-
I had a David use it in game, I can say it definitely works.

... it's an extra 2 percent, I think we will live
The bigger issue is the fact that it's being compounded with base generator increases.

Sounds super interesting.
What a shame any time I equip red glyph
perkschallenge I can't find one :DThey could probably tweak Red/Blue Glyphs to briefly show their location when a generator is completed. Kind of like how Purple Glyphs are revealed when you get a hook.

honestly that was an idea i had.
not sure if it would be broken or not but it sounds fun having a flashbang that explodes and shoots glass towards the killer.
It could be like blast mine where it stuns and blinds the killer.
another idea would be that you throw it like a flashbang onto the ground, it shatters and you get haste + your scratchmarks + blood is hidden for x seconds
(also you could simply keep the mirror and escape for a grant total of 25k points)
Yeah, I like the sound of that second idea too. I'd throw in Grunts of Pain suppression too, and it'd be a good tool to make a sneaky getaway.
-
That's honestly a pretty neat idea! I can imagine some neat perk ideas that could come from Glyphs.
I can imagine the White Glyph being able to give you an active ability when charged, and the animation for it would likely be REALLY cool. Perhaps the survivor could hold out the Mirror and channel it's energy and it'd shatter dramatically, blinding the killer if they were looking at it. It'd kinda be like a mix between a flashlight and a flashbang (except it'd look way cooler than both of them).
That's just one idea for the White Glyph though, it could vary in ability based on the perk you take.
-
That "increased chance" is almost entirely negligable unfortunately. However, they're going to make the higher rarity nodes easier to get in a later update.

If tunneling and camping was a serious problem wouldn't overzealous be meta? If all the killers do is tunnel and camp then overzealous is a permenent increase to repair speed that only switches off if the killer stops tunneling/camping!
8% repair speed bonus is totally super significant especially when you have to spend 14 seconds cleansing a dull totem first. /s

@Mandy said:
With the rework that's coming to Spine Chill, it will only give the action speed bonus if in direct line of sight for killer - which will help stealth killers a lot more. The vault speed has been removed entirely.
Just a clarification, does the killer have to be looking at you, or does it activate whenever you have a potential Line of Sight on the killer?
-
It depends, getting a guaranteed self-unhook or instantly healing another teammate? Yeah, it's fine that those perks have a downside attached.
Cleansing totems and opening chests silently? Absolutely not.
-
This is intended. Legion requires the survivor to be inside the Terror Radius to get tracking through Killer Instinct. Hysteria applies Oblivious, which causes the survivor to be outside of the Terror Radius at all times (since it doesn't exist for them).

Then we should make the aura reading distance unlimited so that it becomes more useful
They really should. It's just like Alert all over again (except I really hope we don't have to wait over a year for it to get buffed like this pls bhvr i beg).

Just the scratch marks.
Damn, that's a shame. I'd love to see the Aura range uncapped too. Thanks for the answer.

How are these numbers calculated. If the percentages are added together, it would be 18.4 seconds.
Just look at @GoodBoyKaru's reply.
-
Your numbers are WAY off. Self Care + Botany Knowledge will take around 30 seconds to heal, not 18.
-
I think Red Herring should be an activatable ability like Diversion. Having to get into a locker to use it is really annoying.
-
It's likely to be the 19th, but nothing's guaranteed.
-
It's just a visual bug, the ADS time is still the same.
-
Yeah, Evil should really replenish slowly over time so he never runs out.
-
Yeah, its really cool. I just wish the Killer POV music was louder, it's really quiet now.
-
Probably the 19th, but you never know. BHVR never explicitly confirm update times until close to release.
-
I mean, they don't need to while you're playing killer, they've got all the bots they need.
-
They patched JFlicks ages ago though, you can't "abuse" DPI anymore since there's a cap to the turn rate per frame. 100 sens console Blight and PC Blight are the exact same basically, that was the point of the whole console update to Blight alongside his camera height increase.
-
There's more than enough time to Snap Out Of It and self-mend. If the Doctor gets you to Madness III twice, then you can find another teammate to mend you.
-
I don't know why they made it disable while exhausted, seems like an unnecessary double nerf.
-
No, Mandy confirmed that there's no plans to change individual killers this patch. Their pallet break speed and hit recovery when using a killer power will remain the same.
-
I'm pretty sure Off The Record deactivates with the same hit BT does.
-
Still not fixed or acknowledged as of the 6.1.0 PTB.
-
For the love of god just let us choose which chase track we hear already.
-
I think that could give Autodidact the potential to be a bit too good. Instead, it should just give a stack upon a completed healing action, to add a bit more consistency to the perk.
Also, give it back the Red Skill checks when it'll debuff the healing progress, I liked those.
-
He just needs slightly faster reload. -0.5s would be really nice.
-
I'm a fan of a lot of the Hex perks, they might not be too consistent but they have potential to be very powerful. Even the more underrated ones like Hex: The Third Seal and Hex: Huntress Lullaby can be pretty good on the right killers.
-
I wanna try Wake Up and Sole Survivor. I don't think it will be effective since your entire team has to be dead first but it'll be funny to pull off when it happens.
-
There's a lot of loops that Billy struggles to use his chainsaw in. Oni has a far greater turning rate overall and doesn't bump on objects. His power, while not always avaliable, is better than the Chainsaw in terms of strength.
-
I really don't know why they're buffing Thanatophobia in an update where the base gen speed is getting nerfed.
-
The ability for survivors to see their teammate's perks in the lobby.
-
@MandyTalk could you move this to feedback? I wouldn't want the devs to miss it.

They should just buff the basekit endurance effect to be 7-9 seconds to help against tunneling. 5 seconds is a bit too short imo. My biggest concern is camping, that's going to be happening a lot more if they don't make some kind of basekit change.
I think the Endurance should be 10 seconds, or around that mark. Borrowed Time would add 5 on top of that.
@Visi said:
Fantastic analysis. It would be nice if BHVR would read this before pushing this disastrous update on the game.
Thank you! This took me quite a bit of time to type up so I'm glad you appreciate it.

I don't think the Iron Will nerf is nearly as bad as people are saying, it'll still be useful, just not make you dead silent in chase, but I guess we'll see when the changes get put on the PTB.
I think the anti-tunneling stuff introduced is pretty good, especially Off The Record, but any anti-camp measures are non-existent. They should have increased hook state timers by 10 seconds for first and second state to offset longer gen times and campers. There's literally nothing you can do against a camping Bubba or Billy or any kind of other one shot, heck you could even just get grabbed by a m1 killer. It's really concerning because the reward is now even higher for camping, and if you manage to get a hook in the middle of a 3 gen? Lol game's over, you just camp it out and win.
The issue is that there's no significant basekit anti-tunnel measures. Having it being tied to a perk will stifle variety, while not solving a core issue of the game, which is what this update intended to do. As I said, swapping DS for OTR isn't a "shake up", it doesn't solve the issue of tunneling at a basekit, it just switches which perk we have to use to avoid it.
Not to mention that there's also absolutely no anti-camping measure at all, on top of nerfing gens by 10 seconds, making camping more effective.
I think this could end up increasing both of these unhealthy playstyles dramatically.

They buffed chase mechanics at base. It means there's even less reason to run anything other than slowdown and seal the deal on your ability to stop gens. The entire update is backward.
It really is. Buffing chase mechanics AND nerfing gen speeds at the same time is WILD.

@Krazzik said:
Thana has always been kinda bad compared to other gen slowdown, it's only ever been meta on Legion and maaaaybe Plague. This simply brings it upto the level of meta slowdown.
Wasn't getting rid of the slowdown meta the whole point of the base changes?
