Turn Glyphs into perks
Glyphs are in my opinion a really cool idea but sadly they are tied to archives and are completely inaccessible when you did not equip a challenge spawning them.
So here is an idea:
Why not make perks for killers and survivors that have an effect when a certain glyph is collected?
an example for survivor:
Glyphseeker: Bookworm
You always had an affinity for books and the knowledge contained within. To you, the mysterious wisdom hidden inside glyphs is just like any other book.
At the start of a trial spawn 1 non-personal Red Glyph.
Successfully communing with a red glyph activates this perk.
While this perk is active and you are not holding an item, hold the active ability button to unlock your aura-reading potential. For up to 10 seconds, reveal the aura of other survivors around you in a 64m radius. Once you used this perk for 10 seconds it will deactivate and another red glyph will spawn.
this is just a concept based on clairvoyance of how it could work.
Non-personal glyph means that any survivor or killer that needs a red glyph for their perk to activate may see and collect them. So if 4 survivors would equip a red glyph perk, 4 red glyphs would spawn and every survivor could interact with any of them. They lose the ability to interact with other red glyphs as soon as their perk is charged ofc.
Another concept for survivors could be a perk that spawns white glyphs that only activates once you hold a repaired mirror or that turns said mirror into a use item.
For killer here's another concept:
Glyphhunter: Forbidden Knowledge
Your insane mind is immune to the adverse effects that repeated exposure to the grotesque knowledge contained in glyphs would cause.
At the start of a trial spawn 1 non-personal Purple Glyph.
Purple Glyphs move around the map and leave a purple trail behind them. Upon hooking any survivor the auro of the glyph is revealed to you for 5 seconds.
Successfully communing with the purple glyph grants you the undetectable status for 30 seconds. All survivors are afflicted with Exposed for 30 seconds. A new glyph will spawn 60 seconds after this effect has ended
Survivors that find the glyph may commune with the glyph. causing it to disappear for 60 seconds. After communing with a glyph, survivors scream and have their aura revealed for 5 seconds.
this might be kinda unbalanced but hey, this is just an idea of how these perks could work.
I really like glyphs as a side objective and it is a shame that they are locked behind archives. anything that makes them more accessible would be appreciated.
We just got boons so i personally do not expect these to be made anytime soon but I hope that this is something that one day might turn into reality.
thank you for reading this, your thoughts?

I like the idea of seeing glyphs become unique perk powers. I would also like to see how the white glyph item could be used in perk form to provide a unique item power.
That's honestly a pretty neat idea! I can imagine some neat perk ideas that could come from Glyphs.
I can imagine the White Glyph being able to give you an active ability when charged, and the animation for it would likely be REALLY cool. Perhaps the survivor could hold out the Mirror and channel it's energy and it'd shatter dramatically, blinding the killer if they were looking at it. It'd kinda be like a mix between a flashlight and a flashbang (except it'd look way cooler than both of them).
That's just one idea for the White Glyph though, it could vary in ability based on the perk you take.
Sounds super interesting.
What a shame any time I equip red glyph
perkschallenge I can't find one :Dhonestly that was an idea i had.
not sure if it would be broken or not but it sounds fun having a flashbang that explodes and shoots glass towards the killer.
It could be like blast mine where it stuns and blinds the killer.
another idea would be that you throw it like a flashbang onto the ground, it shatters and you get haste + your scratchmarks + blood is hidden for x seconds
(also you could simply keep the mirror and escape for a grant total of 25k points)
They could probably tweak Red/Blue Glyphs to briefly show their location when a generator is completed. Kind of like how Purple Glyphs are revealed when you get a hook.
Yeah, I like the sound of that second idea too. I'd throw in Grunts of Pain suppression too, and it'd be a good tool to make a sneaky getaway.
true showing glyphs sounds kinda nice as long as there is a condition
also there could be perks that have a big payoff but take like 4 glyphs to activate
