One of the major objectives of a survivor is to buy time to get generators done.
Self care helps buy that time. It's good to waste the killer's time as much as possible.

It also works to the killer's advantage if they capitalize as certain perks counter it, and it also gives the killer more time to hook people.

Asking survivors to please make the game easier on you via insulting them to stop using self care will probably fall on deaf ears.
Lets be real. Survivors are less likely to follow the rules of killers than vice versa. Killers have shown some courtesies from time to time.

Hiding doesn't work too well, flat out running doesn't work too well, lithe is getting screwed by dwindling vaulting points. Stealth is not as easy as all that either, and the slow go route offers the least reward for the risk.
Sure, lets take more tools from the survivors to make it harder for them to survive. Pretending otherwise is pretty laughable. Even if some people can do it, aptitudes vary.

And no, I'm not a survivor main . I play both sides, and not much bothers me aside from SWF.

The problem I see in your argument is that the game, at the very least, promises stealth and then fails to deliver. Should BHVR not fix that first, instead of letting it be broken and giving us other kinds of crutches to stay alive?

I can agree with the lack of decent stealth, but they got rid of those notions with some of the very first killers.
Wraith with bloodhound, and seeing scratches better makes escape damn near impossible.
Sure, don't get seen in the first place, and never run? Easier said than done. Especially since there is an ability that lets him see people while cloaked.

Nurses calling? It's a huge counter to SC unless you're playing against the handful that know both well enough to dodge the perk.

Stealth is not well rewarded as impatience often overpowers the desire to crouch walk, or even walk for the most part.
Me playing stealth is near useless because the other survivors will gladly blow it.

There a ton of really powerful tracking abilities the killer has that makes stealthy approaches a joke.
If you play a stealth game successfully, you can probably thank someone for being a distraction.
And because killers can quickly find survivors, the pace of the game changes which means it goes by too fast.
With few to no equalizers, survivors would just get slaughtered. They get slaughtered, they get angry, they complain or quit.
So they get perks like self care, which makes some sense as people in their position would probably learn to heal themselves anyhow.
If games end too quick and one sided, the game lacks balance. It will die.

Don't mind me, too much, I'm just venting some.

It's not that you're playing with friends. In and of itself, I doubt anyone cares.

It's how much the SWF is using it to their advantage.
This game is not balanced for people communicating through voice chat, and coordinating as a team.
It just isn't, and may never be.
Coordinating, especially with voice, is incredibly hard to counter for the killer because it's like a dozen high rank perks all at once for free.
And because a lot of SWFs just wanna abuse the immense advantages of -everyone- in an SWF is going to pay for it thanks to statistics.

But its like what will you do?

    As a killer? Lobby dodge.
I suck at the game, and don't really want to reward it/deal with the headache unless I'm doing rituals or something. :P
Like I said, the odds of a group just wanting to curb stomp me are just too high.

As a survivor? I run solo. It sort of combats SWFs because at most there can be a 3 person team, or an "Ed, Edd, and Eddy" as people call it.
    Cursed Ed-boys!!

Beyond that, there really isn't anything to be done. Discord, and searching for a lobby at the same time is easy enough to group with friends if they take out SWFm so you may as well leave it in.

If you SWF, hope no one notices, or is up for the challenge, I guess.
I do not blame killers for bouncing out of an SWF lobby.
I don't blame SWFs for being mad about it.
I don't blame people that solo, or are in duos for being mad about it.

The only thing I can think of is maybe setting up a system of rewards that scale depending on the size of the SWF(s) vs the killer.
I.e. a bonus in blood points and/or XP depending on how many are in an SWF, penalizing the SWF if they push the match too fast (I've seen a match end in 3 minutes or so with 3 people escaping, sacrificing the 4th), generally penalizing them with slower repairs/healing in general.

Frankly, I'd be happy with some extra blood points, and maybe an XP bonus. I don't care too much to penalize them as much as I love a longer trial, and time to do something.

  • I wouldn't be surprised if we get offline/bots when the game starts to lose popularity/life like Friday the 13th did, and it probably will sooner or later. Not likely before then.
I wouldn't mind bots to fill in games, and an offline mode.

I played against the bots once or twice on easy on friday the 13th. Mixed bag. They all seemed to be equipped with pocket knives, and firecrackers by default, and their vaulting could use work. Yeah, they got stuck once, or twice, but I keep getting survivors stuck on me in DBD. lol
It does suck you can only be Jason, though.

BUT I do have to give some credit, the bots were still smart enough to repair stuff, call the police, and hide for a long time, even on easy. If Friday the 13th can manage that, I'm sure DBD can pull off decent bots, and I'm sure the tutorial has some of the ground work done.

  • Because it's so MEAN to put survivors in dying state as they linger at the gate for ages, or go back into the map, or some such!
I mean, they gotta gloat, right? It's not like the killer is supposed to be scary, or anything!

And so mean to kybosh chain rescues at the end of the match! How's a survivor supposed to get a bunch more points, and get the last person out (maybe)?!

I hope the dying state infliction being tested does go to all levels of NOED.

  • Tapps badge does it, too, i think.

I'm on the fence about this.

On one hand, this game was not balanced with SWF in mind and it's plain as day. Hell, some perks just outright don't work when voice com is factored in.

On the other hand, this game probably would not have survived as long as it has without SWF. Watching casuals play SWF (who only want to play some games with their friends) then watching high ranked survivors in SWF who actually know what they're doing is night-and-day. A completely different game. An indicator would likely result in a metric ton of dodges by Killers, which would be off-putting to both new comers and veterans. You would see a hell of a lot more deranking by survivors to get paired with Killers who aren't in-the-know of the cancer that is SWF... thus making it even more off-putting to new Killers.

I think the solution would be to give in-game voice chat to all survivors by default then buff the killers to balance around it. SWF isn't going anywhere and this game can never be properly balanced until voice chat is factored in to the decision making.

I would be open to them having a walkey talkey in there kit. That way can only discuss while in range of each other without giving out audio radio cues. Then killer could take advatage of long range mic talks. Also think if they come with 2 vs 8 killer mode then i can at least swf back. ♡

Honestly, I think that would be worse for killers. Now most any rando group can talk, and anyone with any amount of savvy would just use a source outside the game for voice chat.

Maybe you might get a few honest people who would use in game chat, and might grab a few newbies that don't understand the game mechanics, but most will probably just discord, or skype, or use the phone, or use console party chat, etc.

A kill with friends 2 vs 8 mode would be interesting, though.

  • I believe there is a clue to if they are an swf group.
It's in how they appear at the camp fire.
Every person that appears simultaneously is in an swf.
Non swf players will appear farther apart.

I could be wrong, but I doubt it.
  • With the Spirit and her perks, i was thinking of making a Casual Killer/Tsujigiri build.

Someone who kills without hooks as much as possible and not reliant on Moris.

Why are the Dev's forcing punishing Killer's for camping and forcing them to play the tedious "Run Around the Pallet" mechanic they love so much without giving us any real incentive to do so? You know like, oh I dunno, actually slowing down gen progress?

I thought they were looking at the pallet game by making survivors have to run before they can quick vault?

Having to run a little over 2 meters for a fast vault sounds like it would disrupt loopers to a degree.

Do you have any reference to that or is it just a rumor?

  • Garys mod, maybe? There's a mode where there's 1 killer, maybe a half dozen normies, and 1 guy with a gun.
Gotta figure out who the killer is, and the guy with the gun needs to shoot them.

The guy with the gun can shoot the wrong person and drop the gun.

Normies can find enough clues to get their own gun.

The killer has to kill everyone in time with a knife i the time limit. They can throw the knife and pick it up.

Everyone comes from a character pool so they all look normal.

    Trouble in terrorist town?
Buncha soldier dudes have to figure out who the killer is among them, or die.

  • There needs to be a killer shouting "Make room for Jesus" when they attack 2 survivors who are close to eachother, or doing a coop action.
  • It's not often I feel bad for the other side.

I was in a trial as the spirit. 2 people disconnected, and I sacrificed the third. All that was left was Min.
They had gotten 3 gens done by then.

I stumbled across the open hatch, but kept patrolling already willing to give a chance.
A gen went off, and to be honest, i was part impressed, and part wondering if they knew about the hatch.

We got into a chase, i downed her, and carried her to a far hook. Kinda wish i could pull her off the hook myself and take her to the hatch.

I feel bad for a killer if the match seems to go by quickly. I solo all the time, and I guess i end up in 3 person swfs sometimes.
  • How badly do you stomp the killer whem playing with friends?
If you win easily the killer is likely mad they did not stand a chance, and probably had zero fun.
It may have been boosting indirectly by helping the team steamroll the killer.

Not saying you can't play with friends, mind you.

@DeadByFlashlight Gotcha. Well, I'm casual and so are the fans that ask me about games (as far as I can tell). Since I'm not seeking to rank-up in DBD and just want to have fun playing some killers I grew-up on (Myers, Freddy, and Leatherface), I suppose it should be fine then.

Don't get me wrong. I have done the whole competitive gaming before. I got that way due to Overwatch for those 2+ years, and I ended up hating it. I'm, 45-years-old, and just want to play to have fun like I used to before the Overwatch Curse. So, if I'm reading you right, DBD is still a good game for that type of play?

    I'm super casual myself.
Unless i warn people about swf groups , and how to dodge them, i can't recommend the game.
A killer that hits a string of coordinated players will likely get mauled badly, consistently, and turned off.
    I can't recommend the frustration.

Still, the game is pretty fun.

I'm a killer main who started playing after it dropped free and I just made it to rank 7 and I'm tempted to stop playing as the killer.

I have to deal with groups of 3+ SWF all chatting on party, loaded with instant heal kits and DS on everyone. Add in that I just had to play on the same map 4 times in a row and that all the high level game is boils down to is loops and it's not a good time for the killer. Being I don't have all the good perks unlocked and teachable I'm basically against fully loaded survivor groups with trash base perks. Not fun.

I was in your shoes until I just started lobby dodging certain groups. I.E. when 3+ people appear at the same time. It fely lousy of me at first, but now that I'm jaded, and know that they wouldn't give a damn about me, and my fun it's pretty easy.

It doesn't stop them from connecting later if they appear individually, but it helps the game go in what I feel is the spirit of the game. It doesn't cure all the ails, but it certainly helps.

  • I blame the swfs. They are way too common, and only a masochist would deal with them.
  • @Peasant said:
You're a risk taker. When repairing, healing, or sabotaging you have a moderately/considerably/tremendously increased the chance of getting a skillcheck. ALL of your skillchecks will in-turn be tremendously/considerably/moderately more difficult.

What is the benefit of using this one?

Sounds like a perk version of new part, iirc.

Nailing a rapid chain of skill checks will speed up how fast you do something.
  • 2: you never played a killer carrying a wiggling survivor, have you?
And i think there are perks to intensify the wiggling.
Suddenly lurching a direction,  maybe slamming into a tree, or wall, it will slow you down.

    Bruh.

survivors usually put thier items on the floor so you will let them escape. but if your toxic i wont let you

Wait is that thing? Why would a Killer ever not kill?

    Depipping, i imagine.

    Chaos. Random decisions.

I played a game last night. 2 people dced. 1 got sacrificed.
I kinda felt bad for the last person. They even tried to fix generators instead of hatch for some reason.

If the match was a few seconds longer I would have just taken the survivor to the hatch instead of the hook. Felt a little bad after the hook.

Didn't know survivors dropped stuff for those reasons either. Not much makes semse about it.
  • I don't think I'd even be mad.
I didn't know you could interrupt a Mori like that.

  • Oh heyal naw. Unless I'm doing a ritual that doesn't involve hooking, or sacrifices, or such, buh bye.

I'm not good enough to deal with people with -that much- advantage.

  • I like flinging stuff as the Huntress and I got some decent perks for her, but I think my main main is the Pig.

    Sneakie slashie slashy pig.

The RBS, while I wish I could restock them like the Huntress restocks hatchets are still fun for me.
They add an extra layer of skill checks, gives me more time to get people dead, and an adds urgency once that timer starts a goin'.

Also Game over, man. Game over.
Watching someone that doesn't know what happens when they try to leave through the gate without taking the RBT off? Finding the dead body of some unlucky survivor with a bloody mess for a head?

The only thing that could make it better would be a deadlier trap like the shotgun shell collar trap to alter her from a deadly delayer to a really deadly delayer.

P.S. Spirit is gunning for top spot. Rancor is fun, and a good name for it. Kinda inspired to make a Kill loadout. Now if the perks all come up is the question.

  • Depends on my survivor.
Feng: Deja Vu, Technician, Lithe, self care.

Nea: Deja Vu, Lithe, Urban Evasion, self care.

Don't have anyone else I've leveled much. Looking forward to teaching Window of opportunity. Sprint Burst will come after Urban Evasion gets teachable.

  • I'd play killers a good bit to grasp their style on a personal level, and season it with perks,  and addons to compliment that style.

It would suck to get loaded down with a lot of addons you don't really want to use while you turned down addons that you wished you hadn't.

Maybe as a hag you want to focus on trap duration and teleport range instead of trap radius, and ended up webbing for trap radius because it sounded good at the time.

Or maybe you wanted NOED ranks but ranked up Ruin instead.

In time a lot of this can probably be fixed, though.
  • Huntress. I'd be torn between running for my life, or trying for snu snu. Lol

Pretty sure anyone else would just go for the kill, and not be a candidate for snu snu for assorted reasons. Decision is easier. Down to flee, and probably die tired.

I don't believe for a second that these complaints all stem from wanting to win all the time.

There's a youtube video that shows a coordinated team opening all 5 gens in -3- minutes! 3 MINUTES!
And escaping by the 4th minute! Because the video is not even 5 minutes long!
    That's just absurd!
Pretty sure it was linked to in this thread, but deleted.

That's largely the sort of insanity we're complaining about. It's just not worth the time, headache, or gamble when an swf is more than 2 people with me. That may not all be that good, but I don't like my odds.

Me? I don't mind people escaping so long as I maybe get -1- person, and the entity isn't displeased. I'd like the trial to last more than 6 minutes. I'd like some chases, some hits, a hooking or 3. It's rare I get a 4 kill game, and I'm okay with that. I may never see rank 13, and I'm ok with that.
Getting curb stomped by an swf just is -not- fun.

Just because a group is swf doesn't mean they are good. You will run into matches were they are playing for fun and don't care about strategy. The opposite can happen where they are so coordinated and optimized even as the killer you don't make a mistake you can lose for it. Do I think that is fun, I mean people usually remember the worst situations. It is a game and you can't get every kill.

Well, it should entirely be possible to get every kill. Full stop. At least as far as a trial goes. If someone will always escape, something is screwed up.
Over the entire time playing the game, I agree. No one is perfect. Not sure I want to run into the person that can quad every match. lol

Like I said, I don't expect to get every kill. I honestly don't! Not even in a trial to trial basis.
I won't let people go unless they're at the gate or hatch (then I want them to frikking leave so I can move on to the next game! lol), and if I can get them all dead I will, but you apparently missed the part where I mentioned the 4:07 trial long, spawn to out the gate video where coordinated survivors not only got all the generators, but all 4 escaped. This, and really close to this is painfully common.

No, not all SWFs are that optimized, but way too many are too close to that.

I remember the bad because that's basically all I get.
At best I get a carousel hook save kill because they hammered out all the generators within a few minutes. It's not worth it.

I recognize an SWF group has odds of being people playing more in the spirit of the original game instead of just looking for a quick win, but I run in to them all too rarely.

Edit: all 4 didn't escape, but you still get the picture, yeah?

My question to you is why do people still play this game when they are being screwed by the game mechanics heavily against them??

How much of "Well, it should entirely be possible to get every kill" really applies. Survivors can be stealthy never be seen, play tactically hide in lockers not show scratches. You might never see that survivor and they can escape. So should you be able to kill someone who plays on point stealth? The player should be rewarded for playing well, not that you should get the kill in every trail. The 4 minute game thing is just game design issue which we all agree sucks.

Because there's enough people out there playing close to the spirit of the game when it was developed to dodge the heavy duty swf people that killers can find fun games.
Going free, sales, etc. Don't hurt either.

It should be possible to kill everyone in a match unless they dc, or the killer does.
Possible is in no way a guarentee that it will happen. That's the important thing.
There shouldn't be a formula that guarentees a survivor escape with no chance of failure as much as there shouldn't be a guarenteed kill.

An on point stealth game still has the chance to fail, especially with numerous aura reading abilities, luck, and the hunting skill of the killer among other things.
Maybe another survivor will kite the killer that way? Who knows how Murphys law will happen, but it can.
The chances maybe close to nil, but the chance is still there. There's likely zero possibility that a person can never ever ever be seen at all by the killer over hundreds of games.

You're talking to a stealth heavy, objective minded styled survivor player here. Not bragging because i don't often make it, just saying that's usually how I try to win.
I have gone through games and have never been touched, or maybe not even seen.
As a killer, I played games where I have never see some players and they eacape. I'm fine with that.

Yeah, I'd like to see some tangible rewards for going stealthy on a sode note.

That 4 minute game is a good indication of how my games usually go when i play an swf. It's why I'm sick of swf.  The design flaw is not that hard to reproduce, sadly. It may not go exactly that way, but it is too close too often.

This, and really close to this is painfully common.
    https://youtu.be/rJqFxk8U0OY

No, not all SWFs are that optimized, but way too many are too close to that.

I remember the bad because that's basically all I get.
At best I get a carousel hook save kill because they hammered out all the generators within a few minutes. It's not worth it.

I recognize an SWF group has odds of being people playing more in the spirit of the original game instead of just looking for a quick win, but I run in to them all too rarely.

Edit: all 4 didn't escape, but you still get the picture, yeah?

You can't win every game you play even if they were not swf. Take the loss and learn from what you did wrong in the game

  • I feel like there might be more horror if the players, especially in an swf were under actual pressure.
    Tension helps create horror.

  • It's the killer's revenge for ganging up on them. :p
  • I tried it on my huntress for the lolz.

I think i might have it on another killer but I can't remember who.

No one else has it yet.
  • Good question.

Wraith has to be my current top foe. I cannot seem to get away from those massive tracking powers. I do not want to vs him.

Doctor and freddy are up there.

I supppse nurse, billy, and hag would probably be my preferred ones to vs.
  • I get playing with your friends.

Fair option would be to allow the killer to hear their voice chat.

Just seems like the only way to keep q times low and keep killer on level ground.

The survivors would just use outside chat if it came to it, and bypass the killer hearing them, imo.

A killer will probably never hear a survivor's discord channel.

Well damn. That kinda paints this game in a whole new light. So like, should I just play as survivor and wait and see if they balance this stuff out?

    No, no.... well maybe.

It depends on how much you want to cherry pick lobbies, try to come up with strategies to counter these people, and maybe if your goal is something other than hooking. I.e. ritual of the chain, etc.

They will probably never balance this game against swf.
Swf can break the game. At the least it gives some groups an absurd advantage.
Swf is important to keep around, though. Even if they got rid of it as an option, people would find a way around it. Voice chat, too.

Wraith gets the initial surprise, then relentlessly tracks the survivor. Stealth might not be the point of the guy.
It's damn near impossible for me to escape a half decent wraith thanks to the tracking specialization.

I can see what you mean.
But Shape too has complete game changers like the 2 Mirror Add-ons and the 2 Tombstone Add-ons.
They drastically change how you play him. (Or well, you know, as drastic as the Power he wields allows.)

I can see your point, too. A bit more flexibility fornthe wraith probably couldn't hurt.

  • Basically that, yeah.
The maps seem too easy to memorize for someone, even without windows of opportunity, to take you on a tour of pallet town.

You get what i call a "pro runner", or "pro decoy" and the first chase is usually the last.
The gen rush going in behind the scenes is irritating, too. Arguably it's the worst half.

I'm trying to get in the habit of ignoring the first survivor i see for a while. They want to be found.

  • Usually slows down later at night est for me, but not many problems during the day.

only if bot mode is unranked and gives zero bp like kyf.

Nah, full, or partial rewards so i can dodge toxic people, and the constant stream of try hard swfs.

if you cant see why this is a bad idea without me spelling it out for you, then i shouldnt waste my time.

also ”try hard” is not only a ridiculous concept, but its what people say when they lose games, to try to minimize the other sides win. in reality, all they did was press some wasd and m1 in a different order than you in this 90% intelligence based game.

the devs will never add bots anyway, its not even on their radar. this is a pvp game.

So was Friday the 13th. Lots of pvp games either get bots or just die.
Bots may not be as far off as you think considering the tutorial has, at the least, the ground work.

Don't bother trying to make excuses for swfs that do coordinated gen rushes, hyper efficient groups, and other madness that flies in the face of the spirit of the game.
It's not worth the headache of trying to vs them. The sooner i can do without them, and get points, and shards, the better. Rank doesn't concern me.

It's antisocial mmo/pvp. You're not supposed to be communicating with others, teaming up to defang killers, etc.
You're supposed to be 4 individuals, not a team.

That's not to say I don't believe swf is important. It is. It's not going anywhere. People will make it work.
People will communicate outside of game, too. No stopping it.

You know the old saying? Hell is other people.

I know it could be detrimental with people who vs cpu until they get a ton of perks, and stuff, then go out into the world.
That could be done away with via 2 versions of each character, one vs bots, one not vs bots.

Worried that it might turn online into a ghost town now that people won't have to lobby dodge 4 person swfs? Blame the swfs for squeezing too hard, and not giving a damn about killers having fun.

Yeah, there's bad stuff that could happen, but there's ways around it. Doesn't help much that i don't care, either.

HotS does it....and does it well. No need for separate characters. A lot of people use vs Bots to level a character and learn the.mechanics. And with the current rank system, it makes it even more efficient.

Why not have the option to level a character vs ai. Let's face it, even Blizzards best AI is nothing like playing against a coordinated team. Same is true for dbd.

I would love an AI option...on both sides. Give me the option to swf against an ai killer and kill a group of ai survivors. P!ease!!!

The beauty of it is you're not supposed to be playing against a coordinated team in dbd, so it's not necessarily a concern of mine. Coordination is easy to find in player matches since the majority probably will be swf.

Swf wasn't a ranked mode initially. The game was described as antisocial. 4 bots, or however many you needed to fill empty slots would pretty well serve the spirit of the game.
It's just how adept the ai is after that.

  • Swf is killing my desire to be a killer. It really is. I really like being a killer, too.
    It's almost constant swfs.

I barely play killer outside of rituals these days. It's about the only time i put up with swf.  I'm playing way too much survivor, and not liking why, though i do enjoy it, too.

I will lobby dodge 3 or 4 swf.
There is zero incentive to put up with that headache. None. Nadda.

Overly coordinated try hards destroy the thrill of the hunt, getting a hook and being able to leave it without being swarmed, find someone else, wash rinse repeat.

They gen rush the hell out of the map like they know where all of them are.

If you chase the apparent decoy they're done with 4 or 5 gens by the time you catch them. If you ignore the decoy you might get lucky and disrupt their plans, but it's not likely.

When they do finish gen rushing, it's usually a carosel of hookings as they frantically try to rescue until they're hooked too many times then  leave because I camped the hell out of the hook.
Like i was supposed to leave and let them escape?
It's a bitter sweet sacrifice, but i no longer care about the cries of an swf group, and will give them as much a chance as they'll give me.

  • I know the feeling. I really like being a killer. Not just one, but several, but when i see multiple people, especially 3 or 4 at the same time, I'm tempted to leave.

Swf is basically driving me away from enjoying being a killer.

There's not much point in going in to what's likely a coordinated gen rush, and a carousel of rescues towards the end. Maybe one dedicated decoy that i sometimes remember to ignore because hy the time i catch them, the gens are almost done, and maybe one sacrifice because i camp the hell out of the hook for killing my fun of a longer match,  several chases,  a few hooks, win some lose some.

I'm just tired of almost non stop swf matches. I really am. I want to go after uncoordinated groups regardless of how good they are.  I hVe a fighting chance, then.

Hell i even got a chat request when i played survivor. If my connection hadn't dropped me I was tempted to tell the guy to sod off.

I wish the survivors I team up with were more common prey.

2 generators, either open the gate. I save a survivor and it's just the 2 of us.
I slowly creep my butt the long way around. Look behind me, he's not there.
I get almost to my destination, then CAW! He's behind me. Zero stealth, apparently didn't go after a generator.

I get busted, run, get hooked in  the dungeon,  camped. He gets hit coming in after me. No apparent borrowed time, and a huntress guarding the door. Game over, man, game over.
  • Forcing the last survivor to survive longer than they have to now is sort of crazy, playing some as a survivor. I like being a killer, too, mind you.

It's balancing the game around sprint boost, it seems like.
Not everyone is running sprint boost. Personally i don't like having to slow go everywhere, and prefer lithe as i have more control on when it pops.

Not everyone is an expert runner/juker/looper.
    Especially in lower levels.
Surviving being essentially tunneled is going to be really hard for slower survivors.

More over  I've seen doctors pull off the stunt where they track the last survivor across the map directly with no perks or addons that aid in hunting. I don't know how they do it. 3rd person dies, and they're on the 4th almost instantly. No screams, nothing.

As killers, we have tactics to stop hatch plays. Maybe even tools.
It might be seen as dirty, but we are bad guys. It doesn't mean we are a bad guy.
We don't play to arbitrary survivor rules, or we shouldn't.
Slug, treat the hatch like a secret generator and defend it, or some such.

Survivors have to have a shot as much as killers do. Closing all their doors of opportunity is as bad as them closing them on killers.
  • @Rebel_Raven that was a PTB change that never made it to the full game. It was unfair according to the devs.
Yeah, i guess slamming the hatch at a standoff, then forcing one last chase might be a bit much.
