  • I saw in a stream that you could close the hatch, but both doors would open automatically. What ever happened to that?
  • I'd prefer not to have to slug someone in order to get a fair chance at the 4th kill. Not fun for either side. At least letting the killer close it would make it more like a race to find it instead of what it is now.
Well the answer isn't changing the rules because you don't like how the other person won via legitimate tactics.

Though with the new anti camping measures being tested...

Anyhow, if you know they're at the hatch, go kill them. Or go find the hatch yourself so you can herd them away, or make them pay for staying near it.

If they're  buzzing near the hatch they aren't likely doing generators.

    Just kinda spitballing.

  • Slug victim 3, slug victim 4, hook them both in quick order, probably starting with the one closest to the hatch?

  • I don't care about rank. I'll gladly hover around 15. Hell, I'll let it go lower. What's the point of rank?

That said, i only really camp when some hyper efficient swf sucked the joy out of the game, maybe if someone is toxic, and/or maybe if i know someone is close by.

I like hunting survivors, and it's best when they aren't in tryhard mode and actually need to look for stuff.
I like chasing survivors, and it helps when they aren't professional decoys/tour guides of pallate town.

I'm not some quad junkie looking to kill everyone. I'm not that great of a survivor or killer. Show me a good time, and i don't care if a few escape. Would be super if they just left instead of lingering for 10 minutes at the gate after i walked away, though.
As long as the entity isn't displeased, I'm not bothered.

Camping and tunneling doesn't work against competent survivors. If you put pressure on only one survivor, guess what? You're gonna have 2-3 survivors burning gens because you have no map pressure. Only bad survivors complain about tunneling/camping.

If you play the map smart and you still get gen rushed, you're likely gonna pip or black pip with more points than anyone else. Still a win in my book. If you tunnel/camp as killer blindly without tactics, you'll finish with no points and a depip because competent survivors will play around you.

Your post isn't an issue. Salty people will be irrationally mad and it's easy to sound rational when its 4 salty people against 1 killer at the end of the match.

A short match will limit how many people you can pressure, though.
It also eats up the ability to pressure someone.

And i called tunneling, and camping bad habits for a reason. They will work from time to time, and that might be all someone needs to keep wanting to do it.
It's legal moves, but people will still complain, and don't want it to be common.
Problem is squeezing the killer hard might encourage making this common.

  • Would be nice, and maybe add even more camoflage to her as she will look a little more survivorey, but going back to get the rights to the likeness of the actress might be too much work.

  • Free Moris would be fun, but might be a little heavy handed.

A blood point bonus based on how many are in swf, maybe? An xp bonus based on swf size? Both?
The killer is at a huge disadvantage.

Or maybe a bp and/or xp penalty based on how fast the match goes beyond a certain point to force a game more in spirit of the original intent?

Honestly as it is, i dodge lobbies, and may well stop playing killer if swf is all i ever encounter.
As it is, i mostly stick to rituals as killer.
Definitely roll my eyes and sigh when i see an swf.

I don't want swf gone, but i don't want to waste my time on a 5 minute low bp low xp match.

    Whats wrong with hag bikini?

Just saying it wouldn't change much.

  • Nope. Gotta have bikini clad killers, too.

Clown, and leatherface in banana hammocks.

Hillbilly, and trapper in biker shorts and bowties.

Huntress and pig in a two piece.

    Nurse in a one piece.

Hag in a.... well, she doesn't wear much to begin with.

  • @Vietfox said:
Huntress and hag are awesome, i main them both in pc and ps4. Believe me, u can do better with those killers, just get used to them.

    Let me paint a picture.

The new japan map. Me as pig vs a 3-4 swf.

I crouch, and find a survivor in about a minute. I chase them half way across the thinner area of the map. Down. Trap. Hook.
    4 generators are done.
There isn't much exaggeration in that. And other swfs run about the same depending on map size.

Most swfs i run into are hyper efficient, try hards, or both.

I played a lvl 1 nurse for a ritual and a pro decoy/runner was acting like I had nurses calling when my only perk was thantaphobia(sp?).
I knew this because she stopped to heal herself like obvious bait, and wouldn't fully heal.

    Glad you're having better luck.

P.s. when i play hag, or trapper, they generally know where I'm at it seems and either disable or pop traps when I'm too far to do anything about them, and seem to know where they all are.
They try to use them as distractions.

I was lucky to get the bear trap ritual done.

My advise is you to get better and learn from them (i totally mean this in a good way)

I like to face swf because i usually get more bps from them than from solos.

There's not much to learn or get better from in a match going by as fast as possible.

A gen rush even by 3 people and a decoy, especially if they know where the gens are will not teach much, and inrisk that every swf group.

How do you get that much bps from games like that?

Swf tend to be altruist, use it on your own benefit

    Not really.

Hook swarms that just lead to people switching places, and maybe one of them sacrifices themselves while the rest make a break for it realizing the hook will be watched.

Force them to do specific gens so the remaining ones will be close to each other, then they'll have nowhere else to go. Just keep the pressure.
Btw, what killer do u main?

There's not much forcing them when they're done by the time you find, and catch someone after a brief chase.

I'm pretty low level all around. Usually pig, huntress, or hag.

Not really wanting to end up playing someone because i absolutely have to to get something done.

What I'd like to see is the game keep tabs on how large the swf group is, then add a bonus to me according to how many are in swf.

Blood points, xp, kept addons, kept offerings, stat boosts? One, some, or all?

I've been playing a few weeks and already i want to dodge swf groups. I've almost not played killer outside of doing rituals.

Never seems to fail. 3, or 4 people pop in at the same time, and they're all suspiciously well organized, and i barely have time to hook someone. If i do, it's a struggle to make a sacrifice. It's just not worth it.

I know swf isn't going anywhere, and i don't want it to.
I know third party chat isn't going anywhere and frankly it won't go anywhere even if i did want it gone.

so give the killer even more BP since killers usually get more than survivors since BBQ is usually a must need perk but even without it you get more then survivors or at least 3 of the survivors

    Yes.
Not every killer has bbq. I don't have leatherface, so at best i have a random chance at it.

Against people who know what they're doing, a coordinated swf, the game won't last long enough to hook that many people, usually.

Why the hell would i want to gamble on the off chance an swf isn't super coordinated?

  • Too true.
I'm almost retired as a killer outside of rituals.
Why do i want to deal with a 3 to 4 swf? Gotta dodge lobbies!

I do decent as a survivor. Never going into high ranks since i expect to die. Still usually fun.

Not every killer has it. I certainly don't. It's going to be random if i ever get it.

I don't know if you understand how much of an up hill battle it is against 3 or 4 swf, especially in try hard mode, and not having a perfect loadout.

Also, bbq and chili seems pretty useless if they have 4 or 5 genrators done in a few minutes, by the time you hook one pereon as opposed to a more normal, longer lasting game.

As sad as it is, SWF is holding this game together.

I can see your point. Swf is important. I will not deny it's importance, the use of 3rd party chats, etc.

However killers and survivors are both important.

I'm wondering what will last longer? Swf teams virtually cheating or killers getting nothing done because the swf teams?
One side is going to get fed up, quit, and kill the game.

I´m on your side. But SWF is not going anywhere. Devs will probably never introduce voice chat, because of the reasons the others posted. Perks would become useless, etc.

Regarding the fed up and quit thing, many long time killers have left out of frustration. But the game is literally every month on sale. So new killers take their place.

And i don't want swf to go anywhere. If i ever get my friends playing, I'd use it.
You'll never get rid of it. Someone will find a way around it.

Strangers will still 3rd party chat even if it was gone.

For the same reasons, i feel like we'd always have solo survivors.

The best thing to do, imo, is to keep voice chat out, and incentivize killers wasting time against swf groups.

You're not supposed to be able to tell someone across the map that you see the killer, or what you're doing in general.

It creates a level of coordination that really hurts the killer side of things, too.

It's part of why people have a problem with survive with friends. As it is, people use 3rd party voice chat.

That's exactly why there is a need to make this issue offical.

SWF with voice com is not going away. There will never be actions against this style of play.

I am fully aware that SWF with voice was never intended and neither do I like this part of the game and in my eyes this is borderline cheating. But it got white-listed by the devs and so a part of the game.

I wish there would be an other option.

If they officially add it as an in game option it will make it super easy for even random groups to communicate, and that would basically be the nail in the coffin for this game.

Killers are players, and players don't want to get stomped constantly by well coordinated teams.

It's practically cheating and no one wants to go against that over the long term.

There is basically nothing in it for the killer to deal with being steamrolled like that, and adding vooce comms as part of the game would just make it worse.

At least as it is now, killers have some chance of running into randoms, or a team that can't communicate because of the extra trouble people have to go through to set up voice comms outside the game.

As of now, there are only 30% or less players that don't use external voice com.
Introduce it officially and balance the game around it.

And that 30 percent is probably what is holding the game together.

Ive been playing a few weeks, and already sigh when i see an swf group. I know what's coming and sometimes i will back out of the lobby to avoid it.

I know if i had to constantly face coordinated teams, I'd walk away from the game. I like playing both sides, and know that the massive advantage chat would give would drive away killer players.
Without killer players there is no game.

Not sure how you balance around that sort of power.
Multiple perks would become useless to boot.

The game would have to be rebuilt from the bottom up.

That 70% thing was from a data survey one year ago. You can be sure that almost every game there is some kind of SWF now.

The onyl thing that is holding the game together is that still, most survivors dont know how to play and how to abuse voice comms (or they dont want to become better)

Yeah, i figured, but i wanted to make a point in that the people not making it too hard on the killer are the ones that are holding the game together.

The game needs to be fun for both sides, or it needs bots/ai slots, or it will die.

Currently I cant have fun as solo survivor because the rank system is so #########. As killer I have to derank in order to have fun.

    Amazing game design

Well, i don't play either side to rank, personally.

Besides, i hear the game gets worse as you rank up. Killers can't find games, and i can't imagine survivors doing much better because they need killers.
And play styles change, or degrade.
I'm ok with not going high rank.

I mean you said it yourself. You have to derank to have fun as a killer.

  • Sometimes I don't want to be curb stomped by a team doing all the gens in under 5 minutes.
I mean, against a well coordinated team, why am I even there?

If I see people pop in at the same time, they're swf. I don't need an indicator beyond that. Sometimes I will play with them anyhow, though, but I don't expect to get much done. Depending on the pace of the game, I'll camp a hooked survivor. The harder they squeeze me, the harder I squeeze them. They're annihilating the gens anyhow.

It's getting common on ps4, and someone even tried to party with me when i play survivor.

That said, i get these tactics exist, and why. Not saying remove it.

Maybe give killers a large bp boost against swf? Various amounts based on the size of the swf? This may help indicate how many were solo players in a match which might prevent blaming the entire group for swf when some were solo.

A reward to make them more interested?
It doesn't have to be BP, but i can't think of another reward off the top of my head.

Maybe create a reward system based on how fast the match is? A faster match nets a larger penalty?

Or maybe deduct points from survivors if they rush too hard?
Or from a killer that, somehow, pushes the game to end quickly beyond what a normal loadout might allow?

Or, lets make a kill with friends! 2+ killers vs swf teams! Lol jk
