If you are up against a good Legion, you'll get hit. Of course you can do mindgames against Legion, but only if the killer is bad.

I used to think the same until I got good at looping & mindgaming Legion.

Why do you people hate Legion so much? I don't get it. Most decent ones go for everyone and don't tunnel or camp. Just mend and don't heal and work on gens.

You just answered your own question. Mending and repairing are both unfun. The fun part for a surv usually is the chase but that doesn't happen with Legion.

Of course, that's not a reason to DC. Survivors have to deal with it. Legion is in the game, so some people are going to play as them.

I really hope for a big Legion rework.

What do you mean, the chase doesn't happen? The chases against a legion are some of the most interesting ones because there are so many mindgame possibilities for both sides...

I hate playing against Hillbilly and Doctor more than Legion. I even hate playing against the Clown and Freddy more than Legion.

Legion is just massively annoying, but he technically tunnels less than Wraith, but actually has mechanics built-in to discourage tunneling, unlike Wraith.

Legion's design forces you to tunnel though. There is no real way for you to kill anyone by speading the pain across multiple survivors in higher levels of play. The survivors just mend and do gens. As a result, the only way to do well as Legion is to go after one survivor, which although takes a really long time, always ends up with the survivor going down. Eventually they get downed two more times, and then they die. That's why it's bad design.

Legion is not designed to kill survivors, it's a Emblem farming machine by design.

I read in another post that some players even consider Legion being the perfect Killer for Survivors.

I'm one of them. Legion can easily pip without killing anyone. They can easily get hits without actually being good in chases. They get lots of bloodpoints on top of all that. They can even pallet loop! ...but they suck at killing Survivors. Which is fine if you're a Survivor main, you don't want to kill your fellow survivor friends. Perfect!

Problem is, it's annoying when you face a Legion that actually wants to kill people because then you'll have a hard time getting rid of them.

  • I agree with you, I mained Nurse during whole 2017 but when they temporarily messed her up with double stun, I tried Billy (for the first time) and instantly fell in love.

Nurse always felt very hectic and you gotta stay concentrated and focused for the entire match. Every mistake gets punished hard and I got almost traumatized from her past-blink recovery stun. I never switched back, even after her vertical blink buff. While I sometimes still get rekt as Billy by certain map layouts or skilled SWF, the overall matches are a lot more relaxing and chill with almost the same results as I had with Nurse.

  • 1st step:

    • way harsher punishment for disconnects

    2nd step:

    • a better ranking system
    • casual & ranked mode (no SWFs there)

    3rd step:

    • a better matchmaking that also considers players Devotion level

    4th step:

    • time to balance the game around the high rank players of the new ranking system

    5th step:

    • continue with content
  • It's always been like that for me regardless of what "pip system" they implemented. First time I played it was the bloodpoints, then the victory cube and now the emblem system.

It was quite clear to me regardless of the system:
Killers have to kill, only a 4k is a flawless victory.
Survivors have to escape, only if all escape it's a flawless victory.

People just like to set priorities but those won't make them WIN the match. You can't just make it your goal to have fun, to get a lot of bloodpoints or even pip and then think you actually won the match. Maybe you reached your personal goal? That's great but that doesn't mean you won the match.

  • @KingB said:
@PiiFree have fun watching survivors bait the pallet drop and get an extra 1-2 loops.

Thanks but in my matches I bait the pallets, not the Survivors :)

  • Legion is incredibly bad in terms of design, yes.

That doesn't mean you're free to DC. People also didn't like Freddy on release and constantly disconnected. Look how it ended up like.

Maybe we can find a proper replacement of the "LOL" button with an "OK" button instead.

  • @artist said:
okay I'm desperate for the LOL button

Not even kidding. Good killers know how to bait pallet drops without mindlessly running into them and without respecting them either.

  • @CJsDBD said:
Which is worse, getting pallet stunned, or blinded?

Pallet stunned is the result of the Killers incompetence.

Flashlight is just unavoidable during pallet break animation, that's what makes it more annoying to deal with.

  • I still want Pudge from Dota 2.

  • Now imagine the opposite feeling from the Killers perspective ;-)

Yeah, reactions for petty things like tbagging.

For a person that had been bullied in the past, the psychological impact of four teabagging Survivors might be of a lot more intense than you'd think.

That's why I said it would be nice for people like you to try it with a bit more empathy for once instead of excusing everything with "doesn't affect me, therefore it musn't affect anyone else!".

E: And it obviously does affect some people more than others, for whatever reason. Since we know that for a fact now, a logical reaction for "non-toxic" players would be to simply stop teabagging to not risk annoying a person that's more affected by it.

  • @Vietfox said:
Childish =/= have fun or make innocent jokes.
I would rather be dead than being serious all the time.

If you think teabagging is fun, YOU have to grow up.

  • @Vietfox said:
Making more sense doesn't mean one of those things it's not a problem, don't twist my words.

No it doesn't, but it also has absolutely no relevance. You're good at trying to change the topic to get out of a tricky situation.

Your statement says that people who get mad over a game have a problem.

And I'll remember that statement, because it's one of the most ridiculous things I've ever heard. Games are very emotional so naturally people have fun, get mad, get sad, get angry, get horny and wet or whatever. It's the whole point of playing games. An emotional rollercoaster.

  • @Vietfox said:
It makes more sense to get mad because of 4 DS or being camped than a simple tbag and come to the forums to complain about it.
DS or being camped affects the match's result, tbagging doesn't (unless killer is a snowflake)

it doesn't change your original statement:

    @Vietfox said:
People who get mad because of a game has a problem, period.

    Don't twist the words now.

Also, the reason why it doesn't affect gameplay is also the sole reason why it's toxic. If it had a gameplay related purpose, I'd consider it being a tactic but it's not. The sole purpose is to annoy the opposite side.

  • @Vietfox said:
They don't necessarily need to get mad. In many occasions i've said to the killers "camp 10/10, would be camped again".
Anyway, if you wanna turn this into a "killers vs survivors" thread then have it your way, but i got better things to do.

That's a great way to avoid the point I made.

Has nothing to do with Killer or Survivor, it was just an example. I can also use Killers that get mad after getting hit by 4 DS in a row.

According to your logic, all players that get mad during gameplay because of the game "have a problem". So again, I didin't know that having emotions is a problem.

  • @Vietfox said:
I wouldn't say 580 survivors are "most of survivors". It's easy to reach that number even if you started to play DbD one year ago.
Both sides got problems because they are all people, don't forget that.
I've gotten lots of salt from killers in both PC and PS4 but i wouldn't dare to say most killers have a problem because that would be a lie.

Most of the survivors get mad when you camp them from the start. According to your logic, that means they "have a problem".

That's a fact I can prove easily. I can facecamp 100 Survivors in a row and at least 90 of them will get mad about it. This leads to the conclusion that most of the Survivors have a problem.

  • @Vietfox said:

    @PiiFree said:
According to your logic, most of the Survivors in DbD have a problem because my steam profile to date has 580 mostly insulting comments, exclusively coming from mad Survivors.
Are you saying all those players have a problem because they got mad over a game?

    Yes, glad you understand.

I'll keep that quote in mind.

  • @Vietfox said:
What consequences, hait mail? I can deal with that by deleting them.
People who get mad because of a game has a problem, period.

No, you get slugged, camped, tunneled or whatever the person decides to do.

According to your logic, most of the Survivors in DbD have a problem because my steam profile to date has 580 mostly insulting comments, exclusively coming from mad Survivors.

Are you saying all those players have a problem because they got mad over a game? I didn't know that being emotional is the result of madness.

It can't be more immature than someone trying to piss others on purpose. It's mean.

I see it as a friendly taunt.

How you see it is totally irrelevant. It's very subjective, it's like a stranger waving their middle finger towards you. Some people laugh about it, others get angry and the hardcores go and beat the hell outta them.

It's solely depending on the person on the receiving end. Fact is, some people take it the wrong way so you should consider that when you teabag and expect the consequences for it.

In DbD, the intentions are very clear and obvious: provocation. It's not meant in a friendly way most of the time, quite the opposite.

  • It's the definition of being toxic.

Dude slugging has got so bad that they don’t even do it just Bc of hatch anymore it will be beginning or mid game and they’ll start slugging for the 4K and it’s so hard to combat if they’re any good at it. I’ve become so sick of sluggers Bc it’s not just end game anymore.

That's exactly what happens when people insult me for "slugging to avoid the hatch standoff", like I presented in the meme above xD it's based on a true story.

This is what I've been saying. It's a race to the most OP builds, with DS and NOED at the top. Those 2 perks are so mucb more powerful than the rest it's ridiculous.

Having a points based perk system would be better.

As someone that 99,99% of the time doesn't run NOED, do you think I'm being treated unfairly by survivors that constantly run DS against me?

How can I stop them from using DS?

  • @Master said:
Why would a developer willingly release bad press for their own game, that makes zero sense

That's why I'm requesting them. This gonna sound overly dramatic but I think we deserve to know the truth. I simply can't believe that they're actively banning people for DC, I see people doing it effectively every 2nd match, not just to derank.

  • @se05239 said:
I doubt the developers would provide anything. That'd mean they'd confirm that they have a problem..

To withhold such informations seems ridiculous to me.

We're the ones that have to deal with this issue on a daily base so the least they could do it provide honest statistics so everyone knows what they're willing to deal with.

  • I seem to be the only Survivor that likes to play against Legion.

  • @The_Crusader said:
Os it just me or is LF the most likely killer to disconnect when losing? Seems like everytime I have a killer disconnect they're using him.

I honestly only very rarely see Killers disconnecting but from my experience it's mostly Huntress, especially on Thompson's House because I legit can loop them for half an hour on that map.

  • I consider using flashlights during pallet break animation toxic if the people don't use it to actually hide but just to annoy me.

Besides that, flashlight triggering, teabagging, hitting on hook, nodding or otherwise taunting can be considered toxic. Endgame chat / profile comment insults aswell, obviously.

All the others thing are, as you said, just gameplay related tactics used to help people winning the match. Slugging included. 5 Blink NOED Nurse included. Sweaty, but not toxic.

  • How is that toxic? It's just Survivors not giving a damn about Killers fun, which is like normal...^^

  • I once had a wet dream with the Clown

  • @powerbats said:
Good grief the hatch isn't a free escape get over yourselves because the survivors had to do their objective enough for it to even spawn and then actually make it out alive.

I don't do hatch standoffs, I go look for them and if it was a good match and I find it 1st i let them know where it is then roam off.

My ego isn't that large that I've got to get my 4k and if someone gets out come to the forums and whine about it being a free escape.

Watching all the whining on here about it is no different than watching a bunch of 6 year olds whine over someone winning a board game because gasp they did what they were supposed to.

You realize that this is a thread of a Survivor whining about Killers preventing a hatch standoff from happening by slugging the 3rd?

Has nothing to do with ego either but w/e.

  • Therefore, NOED is weak against SWF and strong against solos because they don't have the same tools in a game to deal with the perk. Furthermore, the perk awards failure in terms of you couldn't prevent the survivors from completing their objective. I'm not going to defend DS either, it's the NOED equivalent because it also awards failure in terms of losing in stealth and in the chase.

    I have to disagree.

SWF makes things a lot easier compared to solos, that's obvious but your statement: Solos don't have the same tools in the game to deal with the perk -> Yes they do. They have EXACTLY the same tools. Voice communication is NOT part of the game. Do you realize that you just used SWF and Voice Communication as a benchmark for balance and use the lack of communication of solos as a reason as to why NOED is OP? How ridiculous is that? Is that were we are now, SWF as a measurement for balance?Wow.

NOED doesn't reward failure. Assuming that the balance of the game is aimed around 2kills 2 death this means it's completly natural and expected that 5 gens get repaired. Considering that, it's not at all a loss to reach that state. It's not the Killer failing to do their objective to defend gens, it's the Survivors doing their objective. I'd compare NOED to Adrenaline, but DS is a whole new level. On top of that, Survivors have the complete control over NOED (and Adrenaline). They decide when and if it activates the moment they pop the last gen. On top of that, NOED still requires you to find & down a Survivor before they can escape the gates / break the totem. It's punishing Survivors for failure.

DS, on the other hand, punishes Killers for doing well. That's why DS is incredibly poorly designed and NOED, while it certainly can be powerful, is just that: A situational, powerful perk (against unaware Survivors).

There's a reason why mostly Wraith, Trapper and Freddy use NOED. They lack the pressure to keep Survivors from doing gens, so they focus on the endgame. If Survivors mindlessly rush gens, they'll get punished for it because they didn't consider the obvious: NOED. Remove NOED and you gotta be really lucky to ever see one of those Killers again.

And as a sidenote, I'm sure most Killers would gladly trade NOED for Adrenaline and DS.

I do it to prevent hatch standoffs. It's the only way to avoid it without giving out free escapes.

You can prevent hatch standoffs, by hitting the survivor and letting them go. It literally does nothing, you still won the game. :|

You can just jump through the hatch and give the Killer the 4k. It literally does nothing, you still lost the game.

Is that your kind of argumentation? I'm honestly getting tired of all that BS here. "Just give the Survivor the free escape!". Is that your imagination of a balanced mechanic? To give up that "Flawless Victory" (the 4k, what every Killer should aim for) just to save themselves a ######### 20 minute hatch standoff?

Really, stop being so damn biased. In my 2000 hours of playtime I not once had a Survivor giving me the "free 4k" in the end. Not once. How often did I give out free hatches? I lost count, probably around the 100s by now.

That's the entitlement Survivors have and instead of for once simply agreeing with the fact that the hatch is an absolutely horrible mechanic (regardless of which side you're on) all you guys do is tell Killers to give up on their 4k and hand out free escapes - and quite ironically you also tell them to stop slugging to prevent it from happening in first place. Ironic, isn't it? Almost as if you sooo badly want that hatch escape.

I love to discussus on this forum but when I see stuff like that I know it's a pointless argumentation. So I'll leave this thread as there's nothing but unconstructive BS in here. Have fun.

  • Here's why:

The Survivors are constantly busy healing up through Thanatophobia and Sloppy Butcher. Sounds ridiculous but that's actually what happens. They mend & heal up for 50 seconds only to find out they're getting injured again 2 seconds later.

    efficientplaystyles

  • @The_Crusader said:
    Ok. Wasnt aware of that.

Thing is most killers hook you anyway. With how broken the new hook system can be, is the survivor meant to waste a chance at escaping based on the hope that the other play will show mercy?

Not at all, no. If you see a possible chance in escaping, take it.

It's just that wiggling sometimes stops Killers from giving you the hatch for free because they want to avoid gettung stunned / losing Malicious points. At that point they're kinda forced to hook you unless they find the hatch quickly enough, which is rather unlikely to happen.

If you don't wiggle, you have a chance to get the Killers mercy but if you wiggle you're most likely going to the hook :P
