They said humanoid killers only. In other words, one that doesnt change too much from the usual human shape. In other words, no The Thing (at least not "true form"), no Alien, no Godzilla, no Sarah Jessica Parker, and most likely, no Yeti/Bigfoot.
-
Usually, these are the matches that turns into a farming one, which im fine with.
-
There are just two changes which would make the Hatch actually fair:
Let the Killer grab the Survivor instantly from the hatch. I find it really unfair how the Survivor can escape with just one click, while the killer was to do three with a considerable time between each. And, no, grabbing mid-animation means its way harder for the killer.
Alternatively, make the hatch interaction take longer. For example, change the animation so that it takes the same amount of time of running between the exit gate and the actual exit.
The other problem, increase the requirements for the hatch to spawn. For new players, 2 Generators are a lot, which is why I find it an outdated feature. 2 Generators are nothing. Thats not "work", when you can pop them before the first or second chase even ends, regardless of how good the killer might be. Add another objective (like the key suggested earlier), make it 3 or 4 Generators repaired, I dont know.
That is at least in the current system. Maybe we will see changes to game progression eventually, and then I would consider hatch a rightfully "fair" escape.
Another solution would be to make changes based on rank. If you are matched with unskilled low rank players, you will have the hatch working the same way as now. Higher ranks will have tougher requirements. -
Yes, an Ebony Mori is the most effective way. It sucks when one of them DCs, but you cant do anything about it. The best you can do is just try again and hope they let you have the kill.
Other than a Mori, you also have Devour Hope, but thats less reliable, because you need 5 tokens for that AND your Hex Totem to be up. But at least you wont need to burn through offerings. You could also use Pig instead, and use RBTs on everyone and Tampered Timer and follow them around. :P But thats really... yes.
Or you could go into a match, message the Survivors and ask them if they can let you kill them for an achievement. You could even go for the Evil Incarnate achievement at the same time if they accept.

This isnt one outfit I have, but whenever I skim through the store, I cant avoid thinking of it.
Anger Management (Doc's red suit and head) + Tainted Inoculation (the Victorian cane weapon). Though the Mind's Eye head cosmetic (Hallowed Blight one), would go perfectly maybe. -

The Timer is still going, so I don't understand.
When they escape, does it still set it off? How do they take it off?wut
When they jump through, they dematerialize... The RBT is tied to The PIG... Both go onto the next trial.
It all happens within a split second.. but The PIG and RBT dematerializes first before the timer can't go off.
That makes no sense. Trap would go off before you jumped into the hatch. Same way traps go off when you attempt to leave through the exit gates with one of them on you.
What we see here is a balance reason. They wanted to leave an alternative to the exit gate escape after removing the trap. I still think, considering Amanda-chan's current state, using the hatch should kill the Survivor as well.

I gave you a LOL, for the memes.

5,000 or 7,000 BP to gain an advantage that almost guarantees a win in your next game? Sure, I'll take it.If you get a single Survivor out of the game early, it means the match will be, in your words, almost longer. Just to get your crappy Dying Light debuff on everyone, or done with your daily on your low tier killer. If you take out everyone on their second hook, that is stronger, but, its an ultra rare. as Aerys said, you wont be finding it in every single match. Same as not seeing instant medkits in every match.
And, a mori in no way guarantees a victory. We now go back to the old debate of "Pro Survivors vs Pro Killers". You know, having to rely on a Survivor's mistakes to do good, blah blah, SWF coordination, blah blah, the Killer only being able to keep one Survivor away from a generator at a time, etc. Not going to go through that again.
@aarongai said:
When you can cut your match time in half with Moris, lack of map selection will more or less even out.Same thing as above. Maps do matter, a lot. Imagine a stealth killer in Lery's versus an open map. Imagine a killer which is less kitted for a chase in a nasty map with loops. Or a bunch of Claudettes in Family Residence with a killer that doesnt have good tracking. Whatever map you get while using a mori will heavily dictate on your playstyle, and such playstyle will not always be the best for your killer.
As you said, the length of the match is different with moris indeed, either shorter or longer. But, there you go, why complain about moris if map selection evens it out? In your reply you are basically saying selecting a map is the same as a mori.
@aarongai said:
A guaranteed win may be just as good or better than BP gain offerings.Depends on the match. Remember killing with moris gives considerably less BP than just hooking Survivors, a lot less.
@aarongai said:
The only stackable offering that might make a small to medium difference are Petrified Oak, and you'll be extremely lucky to find all 4 survivors that have it. It's much more likely the Killer will have a Mori offering. And? Its not about stackable offerings. Its about Survivors being able to use offerings of multiple types without being able to give up anything, unlike killers, who potentially give up or miss out on stuff when using a mori.
@aarongai said:
So basically playing the game as a Survivor normally would, but the other team is given a significant advantage against you they don't normally have. Got it.Well, yes. That is exactly how consumables work. A player brings their consumables to gain an advantage they dont have in every match. Same goes for items, add-ons and perks (to a lesser degree). Lets see it the other way then. A killer (without Franklin's Demise) gets a lobby full of flashlight-ers, medkit-ers, whatever. Survivors brought in those items to gain a significant advantage. And they can, because Killers can as well.
What Im simply saying is that getting good is a counter. We are not talking about something unachievable. You can see it coming when you see a killer using a secret offering (no, Shrouds of Separation arent good). Thus you need to be in your toes. That means that you can try your hardest to not get caught, instead of taking unnecessary risks. And, no, the "usual Survivor playstyle" is not the "most optimal/normal Survivor playstyle".
-
The do lose something. They give up the BP they earned on getting it, they give up selecting a map most fitting for their killer, they give up increasing BP gain. It really doesnt matter what the Survivor alternative is, because while there isnt, Survivors can coordinate to have 4 impactful offerings as opposed to 1.
And, yes, Moris do have a counter. Its called not hook rushing, good stealth and lengthy chases. -
I use Pharmacy and Botany Knowledge. Pro strats.
I bought Leatherface recently and got BBQ teachable just yesterday. I will be mad if it appears on the Shrine in the next weeks. -

Spine Chill: While I disagree with your changes, I do think it's currently a weaker perk as it is only active when the Killer is actively looking in your direction. Perhaps if it had a 10s cooldown but remained on for 10s after they looked in the Survivors direction that would be more beneficial to the Survivor in question. The whole point of Spine Chill is being able to tell when the Killer is looking at you, not the effects (except maybe skillcheck odds against Freddy). If it remained on for 10 seconds, then the perk loses its potential because the killer might have looked at your general direction for a second, and then you would not be able to tell he looked away.
I really like Spine Chill the way it is now. -
Im personally fine with Tapp the way he looks. Laurie and Quentin could use some love, but legal #########.
-
Double Tampered Timer + Granma's Cookbook. Pop, pop, pop, pop.
Maybe if you use two Redhead's Pinky Fingers on Clown you can mori them in the place, like Tombstone Myers. -
I will always remember my first 4k as Leatherface. I was doing a daily in Lery's (yes, LF in Lery's). I managed some great stuff for some reason, like grabbing a Feng off a gen, cornering people and chainsawing them, but the best part was at the end when exit gates were open. 2 Survivors left, a Laurie and a Meg. I down Meg and hook her in one of the hooks on a corner of the map with the gate a few tiles away.
I leave for the door through the middle, but then notice Laurie running to save Meg on a side corridor. I cut her off, she manages to unhook Meg with BT. However, I had revved up my chainsaw behind them and downed both of them. And because of it, BT was utterly useless.
So, basically, a very nice moment for Killer is when you counter a Survivor's perks.

Red Forest, everyone dead except for me, against a Trapper. The hatch was on that hill next to the smaller building. The killer found it first and trapped everything. I sneaked in, avoiding every trap. I hear the heartbeat approaching and I panic, so I run and get caught in a bear trap. The Trapper tries getting to me but they step into their own trap, and I free myself on my first try and "gracefully" escape.
I also got matched with the SWF that trolled me bad (as killer) on the previous game. I didnt sandbag or anything bad, I just refused to heal them. I even took their flashlight when they DCed (yes, typical toxic SWF). -
Guys, something impossible just happened! I spotted an Ace!
...He changed into Meg before starting, but still counts.
-
They never said "No more licensed killers".
The way I see it, if they ever were to add Jason to DbD, he needs something different from whatever has been done so far. No similarities with gameplay in F13 the game, but maybe basing it on the movies. Which means, no traps and no teleporting (Spirit is the most similar to that).
-
I would rather other licensed killers (or killers in general) got their own tracks first before giving Myers new ones.
-
Originally, it was meant to be paired with Sole Survivor, so as the match progressed you would be able to see the killer, but the killer wouldnt. Then they changed Sole Survivor, but I believe the previous version was more powerful.
In the end, Object of Obsession pays off if you are good at chases, because you WILL get found.Tunnelled, that depends on luck and the killer, but you still need to be good at chases.

Its back!

But this doesn't mean Survivors shouldn't get some quality of life upgrades, like giving us the Exposed notification when NOED activates instead of after the first insta-down
Were you the guy who complained about getting downed by NOED because he was taking a hit for someone? I cant tell you apart.

The killer one is better, js.

Oh, only now I notice. The Spirit has dried tears on her face.

Mine is:
Pharmacy, Botany Knowledge, Empathy and the x slot.
Sometimes I have Technician, Lithe, Dark Sense or Spine Chill. Depending on how Im feeling. -
I like this. Great potential.
-
Did they ever confirm the Hallowed Blight event was meant to be a hint for it? I forgot.
And there is still the fact that they leaked that the new character(s) would trace back all the way back to Victorian era during a stream. Unless that somehow referred to the latest Doc and Nurse cosmetics (though cosmetics are not really "canon" material by themselves, but at the same time they could also be hints to the new DLC as well).
-
Truthfully, this was pretty much their best event so far. That is what I wrote.
-
I personally have a way harder time in Blood Lodge and Coldwind Farm maps (except for Thompson House) than Haddonfield.
-
I would go for the new ones coming out, the winter ones.
-
Out of all DLC killers (the ones which dont come with the base game), which ones are the most and least played? All across the game, not just Rank 1 or low ranks.

I wouldn't want voice chat with randoms. I absolutely hate voice chat with strangers in online games. You always run into someone playing music in the background, someone deep throating the mic and breathing heavily, and loads of people who start blaming everyone the second things start to go wrong. The last one is the biggest issue. You can only get so upset at a mute person. When you can view your frustrations at them and they can fire back, things are going to go south real quick. See: Overwatch.
I'd rather the same info be available without voice chat to level the playing field. Aura reading, etc.
Who or what I deepthroat is none of your business. Don't kink shame.

Then whats the problem exactly? If your teammates are doing nothing, that means you wont have to worry about endgame. Might as well look for the hatch. If your teammates are doing generators (something), then you could consider going for totems. And, no, you dont need Small Game for it.nomorevideos said:@Rebel_Raven said:
Have you considered hanging around as little as possible when NOED is in play? Or breaking totems?drooling Now that you mention it, that seems like a pretty good plan. Lemme consult my 3 teammates who aren't doing jackshit and the 5 gens that need to be done to even reach endgame. Maybe I'll have enough time to cleanse all 5-6 totems with Small Game before half my team is dead and 3 gens are left.

No need for compensation for those who already paid. Thats like going to a clothing store and say "I paid full price for this dress a few weeks ago. You now have it on sale, so I want part of my money back" Its ridiculous to ask for that. When you pay for something, you agree to pay that price, regardless of the currency or whether the goods are virtual or real.Quirkle said:1) lower the cost of the cosmetics, anyone who bought cosmetics with either iridescent shards or auric cells before the price drop would be entitled to free auric cells or iridescent shards depending how much money they spent on cosmetics

Honestly, Bill may have Borrowed Time, but he is the easiest one to track while injured. His grunts are so unbelievably loud. And he stands out a lot with his white hair. Like Legacy and neon clothing levels.

An alternative for Freddy could be his human self, with probably a normal face.I prefer the look as Robert Englund's Freddy (current one looks more like Jackie Earle Haley's).
And for Myers, a eroded mask like in the last film.Well, but both look identical. To make it worth the trouble, it needs to be something that looks actually different. For instance, thesuicidefox suggested Demon Freddy, and that is unique enough (though it would just be a head cosmetic).

No.

One thing to take note of Stridor on Spirit, whether its godly or trash, it requires some getting used to. Because of it, while phasing, Survivors will sound closer to what they actually are. Especially if you havent used Stridor before.

People insist that Empathy is superior to Bond when it comes to knowing where the killer is during a chase.

No, only counters ONE killer out of thirteen.
It counters Doctor (prevents alert notification from madness screams), Trapper (prevents alert notifications from getting caught by a trap), and Clown (prevents alert notification from being gassed).
As for Clown, why does it matter if you alert the Clown of being gassed? If they are throwing the bottle, they already know you are there, or they will easily tell when you run slower. If they are throwing bottles to check hiding spots, you can easily notice you will get the intoxication score event. -
I always see Quentin ...but thats just me playing him. 😢 So lonely.
Tapp, Ace and Adam are the ones I see less. -

Then why fix whats not broken? Maybe in a distant utopian future where there are no meta perks (or at least not the current ones), dedicated servers, optimal map balance, good totem system and several other characteristics Devs should focus on before fixing something that is not broken.Entità said:@Blueberry You're right, it's balanced: does it mean that there are no other mechanics equally balanced?
