  • My advice would be to watch your back constantly. In general you shouldn't start generator repairs until you know the killer is far away or they've patrolled past you. Since most Myers mains use Monitor and Abuse always start a trial listening for his unique breathing. Just stay out of the open and use your ears and he's a joke.
  • I am afraid I cannot refute your first point as I lack an appropriate perpective alongside any knowledge of crimes regarding women in the orient.

However, your other two points I believe I can refute so let's begin.

You claim that because she is the victim the Entity should not want to have her in its employ. The Entity does not care if the killer instigates or falls victim to violence, it only cares about two things: Violence and Rage, two traits clearly seen in Rin just before the Entity pulls her into the fog.

Rage can be seen in the Spirit's determination. She has seen her mother, whom she loved killed by her father, her parent. This gross betrayal of her trust and love would leave anyone feeling furious.

Violence can be observed in the ensuing fight with her father as she genuinely attempts to kill him to avenge her mother.

The Entity who resides in the spirit would sees her begin to enter it's realm and makes her a deal. If she swears to kill for it, then it will grant her the strength to kill her father. We can only assume this is the case as she's now an available killer (in the ptb at least).

The Spirit's lack of clothing is understandably attributed to the time of her introduction into the fog. She was killed in the middle of the night by her father so her attire reflects this with her Oriental night clothes (pajamas, essentially.)

As for the sexualization of the killer, that's just how people are nowadays. People still call Huntress "thicc" and there will always be sexualization of all of the characters as it's just something that happens to video game characters in the modern world.

My advice for you is as follows:
    - See the Spirit as an empowering symbol (even though her father killed her, she dragged him to hell with her.)

    - Ignore the sexualization of video game characters. (It's some weird hybrid of "fanservice" and r34 that no one person can undo.)

    - Understand that her current and revealing outfit will likely not be her only outfit. She is not liscensed so the designers will probably create more covering cosmetics in the future.

    - Remember the designers. Somebody had to have an idea, then make concept art, then make a 3d mesh, then detail that mesh, then have developers code her every move based on that mesh. The BHVR team for Dead by Daylight lacks manpower and cannot afford a full redesign just to appease one consumer.

Overall, I recommend you ignore her if you don't like her. She is common now during the PTB because she's new. After she is finally released and the hype dies out you should start seeing her drastically less.
  • Wake Up is a decent perk. Revealing the exits doesn't matter to me on indoor maps because there are exit signs. It's really great for people who forget where the gates are. The opening speed should be the main focus for bringing it though. This perk can backfire as I've had allies run to my aura w/ the killer and arrived before the door opened.

Pharmacy is actually a nicer perk than most think. The Medkit it guarantees will ALWAYS be green rarity so you can farm the living crap out of them. The faster and quieter chest searches mainly apply to Plunderer's builds though. Make sure you mention you have Pharmacy before the match otherwise your allies might loot all 3 chests before you, resulting in a wasted perk slot.

Vigil is sadly a bad perk. To be fair it does reduce the debuff duration for all debuffs. However, one quick look back will reveal that more often than not debuffs are channel based.
    Scenarios where Vigil helps:
    - Exhaustion Perks
    - Maybe the "Broken" effect (in ptb)
    - Huntress hatchet add-ons
    - Certain chainsaw add-ons
    - Might affect Madness loss (Unsure)
    - Might affect Afterpiece tonic (Unsure)

    Scenarios where Vigil is useless:
    - When you are Exposed
    - Mangled and Hemhorrage from Butcher
    - Effects from RBT add-ons
    - Blindness from Third Seal

While getting rid of debuffs is decent the radius could screw you if you're running a stealth build as your team will likely try to make use of Vigil if debuffed. Even if they are louder than you.

Overall his perks are mostly gimmicks. Wake Up for "Gen Jockeys", Pharmacy for Medics, and Vigil for Loopers.

i just heard about the new killer, the spirit, quite awesome idea, killers reciving more content, again. And i could not let to notice that survivor NEVER recice new content! Patch after patch killers main have new ways to dealing whith survivor, and survivors main......??!! New item? New map object to help?? NOTHING. When devs gonna give some attention to this...

Survivors have received three new perks with Adam.

Survivors and killers both got decent characters with gimmick perks if you ask me. Though honestly I see nothing wrong with this.

  • He certainly adds some variety to the survivor cast, that's for sure. Though with his trench coat he looks like more of an investigator than a teacher. I honestly hope one of the paid chapter exclusives for him will be a fedora just to complete the look.

If you are a survivor main that hugs pallets like a weeaboo hugs body pillows I have grim news for you. The new killer comes with the unique perk "Spirit Fury" (Or something like that). This perk at tier three behaves as follows:

After breaking 2 pallets the next time you are stunned the Entity will immediately break the pallet. When this is combined with Enduring your pallet is essentially null leaving you wide open for a free hit. This negates looping hard. You have been warned.

'Loopers' can pretty much just be alternatively named "normal survivors". What survivor doesn't loop? There's no easier way to waste the killer's time. We'll only see a change to this when survivors get more creative and skilled or when even more tools are given to survivors.

They have added a new survivor perk that when used well is great. "Distraction" lets you create a custom noise indication by throwing a rock after having been in the TR for a certain span of time.

  • @Master they also have a perk called Rancor I think you'll love.

So a few days ago I reached level 99 - which got reset back to 0, and I received a prestige level 1 for my account, and started getting player levels all over again.

I wanted to ask - what's the point of this? No one can see my player prestige level 1 anyway.

Why can't people see other people's player level?

Player level was designed as a new way to farm Iridescent Shards, that's it. It does double as a cheat revealing agent in some specific examples (Having a P3 clown with only level 6.) however that's only shown if you stream.
  • @ProfoundEnding I cannot vouch for how helpful my advice will be but I have some suggestions. My primary suggestion is to have him try playing Wraith. The Wraith is a great killer for those with sight issues for a number of reasons.

His first strength is his cloak. While he is cloaked he moves quicker than other killers so you can search faster. Additionally, while cloaked bloodstains are much brighter making them easier to spot. Then there are his perks. The Wraith's three perks:

All of these perks make tracking much easier which should help your boyfriend with the colorblindness track the survivors with less difficulty. Also, if he plans on playing as Michael Myers more than other killers then I recommend he acquire "Monitor and Abuse" (https://deadbydaylight.gamepedia.com/Monitor_&_Abuse) relatively quickly as it is arguably the best perk non-Myer's perk you can get. I cannot guarantee my methods will work, but it's the best I have.

  • While your idea has merit, I prefer my solution:

", Since most survivors are determined to keep the hatch as a mechanic I propose we add a special timer/effect. The last survivor will be given a full minute to escape via hatch. After this timer expires the survivor's aura will be revealed and they will have the exposed status effect. Right before their aura is revealed the Entity will appear in the sky and "roar", as a notification for the survivor that they should get out ASAP.

The goal here is to spice up the end game. By having their aura revealed and by being exposed survivors will experience fear disguised as tension. Those first 60 seconds after the 3rd survivor dies will greatly pressure whoever is left to leave. What are your thoughts on this?"

The first point I'd like to make is that in my example the hatch is not closed. This gives the last survivor hope they can still escape. This is lore-friendly as the whole reason the killers kill is to extract hope for the Entity.

The second point I'd like to make is the timer. Survivors have a full minute to find the hatch or rush a generator. At the highest level of play, matches can take five minutes to be completed. Giving the last person a full four minutes to escape is simply ludicrous. One minute is enough to either reach the hatch if you've already found it or get decent progress done on the search.

My third point is the exposure and aura reveal. The survivor receives a definitive warning before they are revealed. Even after they are revealed they have a varying amount of time before the killer reaches them. After all, you only go down in one melee hit so you'll have to end the game quickly on your terms or win the last chase.

Overall, the reason I like my idea more is that it's faster and more empowering for both sides. These two attributes are essential to an endgame mechanic fix.

Survivor benefit - Hatch is always open, the hatch is easier to find if you've already discovered it. You can still bum-rush the hatch and escape with the killer there, you just need timing/positioning skills.

Killer benefit - One initial last chance to try your hand at hunting. An almost guaranteed final chase where you can and will have a clear winner based on some skill. Also, the end won't take 10+ minutes waiting for some toxic fool to finally leave.

I'd put 1500 Iridescent Shards on the killer being the "Japanese scar-faced woman". Then I'd put 500 Iridescent Shards on the survivor being the Samurai. However, if the leak is true then we'll likely get a female survivor with our female killer.

    . . . that the killer's speciality will be survivor locating/tracking.

  • @Dabrownman1812 Multiple YouTubers have made videos discussing the leak of the new teachable perks for the killer. HybridPanda's video can be seen here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Iw86nNE1vp8&t=407s

  • I'd put 1500 Iridescent Shards on the killer being the "Japanese scar-faced woman". Then I'd put 500 Iridescent Shards on the survivor being the Samurai. However, if the leak is true then we'll likely get a female survivor with our female killer.

  • What really grinds my brand new parts is that the developers failed to include Ruin in the survivor tutorial. There is zero mention of hex perks at all which leaves new players clueless and helpless to the perk. So many people vocally use the perk, so the fact that they left hexes out of the tutorials displays a disconnect between the devs and their own game.

  • What I really want is a killer voiceline off: ", I know you're there." or something to that effect. For those instances when they hide a second too late.
  • I honestly love the map as survivor. Using generators to access other parts of the map gives me flashbacks to the "Abandoned Kullman Mining Facility'' my first true horror game experience. Not to mention that there are handy exit signs on the top most floor to help you find your way out of the facility ones the doors are powered.

As a killer the map is okay. You can ambush folks as a generator door opens if you have a stealth build. The lack of grass punishes trappers and the abundance of props hurts huntresses. Overall I'd say 10/10 survivors, 6/10 killers.
  • What kind of trapper just leaves his traps unset scattered in the woods? He should start with more than one trap at the very least.
  • She face-camped you for being useless in a locker? This is an advanced level of foolishness.

  • @ForsakenLemon You're absolutely right, killer is too easy to pip. I used to main Doctor and got all the way up to rank 7 or so. One key detail here is that on average I had less than one kill per round. You can rank up without a single kill as long as you hook everyone twice and actually try to scare the survivors off generators.
  • Since most survivors are determined to keep the hatch as a mechanic I propose we add a special timer/effect.

What are your thoughts on this?
  • The ability to place your own totems is likely to be the best solution. It gives survivors time to do generators while the killer sets up so I would be a fool to complain.
  • @Khroalthemadbomber I am not so sure killers aren't seeing you at all so much as they're seeing your outfits and thinking "(explicitve) that."

In case you weren't aware, usually toxic players don bright attire, so if you do the same you might be disguising yourself as a superior looper. Which would naturally deter chases resulting in a false sense of stealth.

Hello everyone, I installed dbd two days ago and mainly play as survivor. I have three questions:

Today I played two matches against a Wraith and after hooking survivors they repeatedly slashed the survivors. Does the Wraith gain something from that? I checked the perks and it doesn't make sense to me.
Another thing: Two out of three matches where the survivors managed to open the gates the host (I assume the killer) disconnected. Could I have gotten points for escaping, or do I get the points anyways if the killer disconnects while the gates are open? And please tell me I've had rotten luck or that it gets better should I manage to rank up. It made ME ragequit the game today....
Last question, do the exits always spawn at the same location? Meaning, should I wait at the exit gate to point the way for other survivors in confusing maps like the meat plant?

    Thanks in advance!

About the exits, on outdoor maps losing sight of the gates is easy but on the indoor maps there are some signs I have noticed. Lery's Memorial Institute has flickering red signs above the doorways to the exit lobbies and the outside. Gideon Meat Plant has painted on exit signs above the doorways to the rooms adjacent to the exit gates. Once you open the gates I suggest you either escape or wait up to two minutes for your allies. Anything longer is ill-advised.
  • My only question for Mathieu is: Isn't winning fun? A killer is fun to play because they are able to effectively kill in a way that the killer player enjoys. I have played Doctor at high ranks (6), that's not fun it's stressful and irritating to the point where I stop playing. Killers should be fun because they can kill effectively with a twist.
  • My killer lobby times vary, but there is a pattern I have noticed. At night (6:00 P.M. to 6:00 A.M. EST) I have noticed my time waiting for survivors is shorter. During the day my wait times are longer. Does this answer your question?
  • I loaded into a match on Badham Preschool with only two teammates. The killer was a prestige three nurse.
  • Now all you need to do is take your pick of Overwhelming Presense, Unnerving Presense, or Coulrophobia.

I'm a Piggy main, but just yesterday i downloaded The Huntress for the soul reason that she sings...

Literally i want to roam around the map just singing my lullaby, intimidating survivers, letting them know im on my way to sing to them, hatchets in hand.

I can't friggin get a kill and most keep escaping, but hell i am singing and that makes me happy.

Before i went offline i played one more match with my Lil miss Piggy pork chops, and killed everyone...seems i am destined to play The Pig.

The secret to Huntress is the "melee hatchet". First get close to a survivor. Then throw a close range hatchet to injure them. Finally use the shorter than melee cooldown from hatchets to land an axe swipe. Then just resupply your hatchets and carry the little bugger to a hook.

The kindred buff will be a huge thing.
Solo survivors will be almost as coordinated as SWF teams. Gen rushes will be more common and SWF will be even more powerful.

Devs probably do this to balance the game and nerf survivors hard after that patch.
But they need to be quick. Otherwise there won't be much left of a killer community.

    That's my biggest concern.

Imagine how miserable killer will be waiting for the devs to balance out the kindred change.

It will be miserable for everyone. Killers won´t play because gens will be done faster and survivors won´t play because they sit in a lobby for 45+ minutes.

Well since there will be survivor sided chase buffs, several folks I know won't play killer. Heck, if it's bad enough I will stop playing for a bit. With shorter gen times what will happen to the killer ranks? I wonder if matchmaking will be the real problem with this new update as survivors completing gens fast ranks them up and causes killers to de-rank. Are non-nurse high ranks doomed?
  • "Tunneling" based on the phrase "Tunnel Vision". It is an accusation applied for when you focus on one survivor over others. Most accusations about tunneling are stupid as the decision to focus on one person is perk driven or common sense. (Dying Light/Remember Me) or targeting an injured person over an uninjured one are examples.

Looping is as you guessed, running in a circle around obstacles. It seems boring to me and a number of others so killers loathe it and most survivors like it, resulting in a community divide.

  • Well honestly given some recent developments he might not be in the community much longer. Some Youtuber named "Ardetha" has made a few vids that have made me dislike the man even more than I already do.

  • Honestly it needs a rework. In Left 4 Dead Bill powered the generator so his friends could escape. I don't see why one of his perks should help him after everyone else is dead.
  • If the rank isn't red, you aren't at high tier.
  • The secret to Huntress is the hatchet melee. Just practice that and you'll find your games to be a bit better. Also, since Huntress insists on humming Whispers is a great perk to find the folks that use the lullaby to hide.

Everyone should start out separated on each side of the map and the killer should always spawn in basement.
While in basement until he leaves basement he can see the Auras of all survivors.

All Surviviors must meet up or the minimal of 3 in order to start the objective.

The first objective is locating the power source then doing Gens.
After all Gens are finished they must turn on the power source to power on all Gens

. then they should be allowed to leave through hatch or exit gate

To make it fair there should be two main power sources

    What do you think?

Optional hatch escape hatch doesn't spawn until all Gens are done or similar to how it is now. But it will not open without a key. The key will be located in basement

I like most of your idea, really I do. I just have one question, aren't the generators the power source?

  • His presence violates the EULA, since he

Besides, if we all keep whistle blowing about his ban evasion eventually he will be dealt with.

    Please devs, do your job.

It's not "Witch Hunting" to encourage perma ban enforcement. Sending people after innocent players is "Witch Hunting". You know, like this guy: https://youtu.be/0i0SRe_wqb0
  • Honestly with this community I'd rather just play a match with 2 killers. With how much toxicity is out there this kind of play being rewarded would just make each game terrible. Besides, there's a report category for helping the killer for a reason.

It’s a waste of perk slot tbh, if you run the killer around on purpose or are just always the first one found is the only time it’s useful and if for any reason you miss it like against a doctor with unnerving presence, (you don’t really know where it’s gonna pop up and it’s so small that you probably won’t hit the skill check, but may get lucky.) then what? You’re the obsession he may have dying light and you being found first just hurt your team and you at that point because once they find the obsession and injure them , you can guarantee they will tunnel until you are out even if they drop over and over to the hook or swing at exact the same time you hit the d strike and cancel it out completely

strongly disagree is useless since 3 or 4 survs mostly use it in every single match (ranked around 13)

It's a mildly useful perk, but do you know what's better than a free grasp escape? How about not getting caught in the first place? Urban Evasion is in the meta for a reason.

I'll admit I play with friends and many of them are lower rank than me. If I team with them I generally avoid doing things like bodyblocking or flashlights if I get the sense that the killer is mis-matched.

I would suggest what Shadowsfall42 said as a result and balance the ranking around the highest ranked survivor.

That would just let the level 20's survivors know they're getting into and signing up for it as opposed to a killer getting put against people they shouldn't be.

It's just more fair to the killer in my opinion. :P

Yeah, I was saying that, too. That way higher ranks can't pair up with newbies to bully lower ranks.

If we can make bullying harder and harder, who knows, maybe the toxic folk will finally leave.

Maybe it's WAY to late to even argue about this, but I just wanted to point this out in desperation that you change him somehow.

It's probably some legal issue. They bought the rights for Freddy and Quentin's name, but not his actor.
