Kind of like how a survivor escape gives 5000 BP, but a killer 4k gives 2500 BP.Master said:Yes, as survivor you are entitled a escape.
Kinda funny that the killer gets 2,5k BP only if ALL survivors DC AND he loses ALL his addons too
And nice, another example of SWF bullying a low rank killer

This is regrettably the truth. After watching the following video:
https://youtu.be/FQ16IFZEcQg
I followed in SirRodion's example. I used a similar build and carried a flashlight that used for saves. This made me ask myself:
", Am I being toxic for blinding the killer, even if I am using the flashlight the way it was intended?" Almost every action survivors do is "toxic" in some way.
Working on generators? Clearly you're gen rushing. Blinding the killer to save a friend, you're toxic. Using a pallet to stun the killer, toxic. Body-blocking a far hook, toxic. Thanks to all of the dirtbags that do the above just to annoy the killer the rest of us are branded as toxic when just trying to help our team. -
Personally I find that the hook save event is plenty scary for new players. Seeing a friend hanging bloody from a meat hook as pounding a heartbeat draws near will make plenty newer players scared. This being said, they'll never go for the save if they think someone else is going for it. Overall this buff will help novices get rescues and get rescued as newer players tend to find themselves on hooks quite a bit too.Utna said:@ChraizE said:
For the sake of new players and for the love of god give kindred as a base perk. Newbie survivors will gladly let a hooked team mate die on their first hook otherwise, they have absolutely no idea what they are doing. All they know is they are scared to hell because of the killer + heartbeat and they know to either do gens or hide mostly due to freaking out. Kindred will give them the ol "hey, how about some help over here?" I think it's needed badly.Maybe being scared is what they like about the game. Would it be so hard to believe ? After all DBD is an horror game. Why would you take that from new players, don't they have the right to be make their own mistake, and to get better eventually ? Does everyone need to be good and bored, or can we just take it easy and have some fun ?
@Brady said:
I was really supportive of kindred as base kit, but I've seem to changed my mind... As a survivor, and someone who plays solo, enjoys the way the game works as of now. I don't want information handed to me on a silver plate; I want the fun in guessing if someone is in a chase, on a gen, or going for a hook save. The actual effort of going for the save and having to find out hes camping. I don't want such an effortless side anymore... I want some challenge and when I play SWF I don't feel that way, which is why I stopped and moved onto PC and went solo.It sucks SWF has ruined that last sense of horror this game had. What fun.
Just my thoughts, thank you !

Okay, first of all, Freddy Krueger is the weakest killer in the game. His power let's him do two things, hit you and track you. So here are some assorted tips for beating Freddy Krueger.LeeHer said:Is freddy ever gonna get a debuff... he's literally unbeatable.
1.) Wake Up!
Freddy cannot hurt you, at all, unless you are in the Dreamworld. If you are asleep search for an awake survivor, a generator, or try Self-Care ASAP. If no friends are present to wake you up then failing a skill check will also wake you up. Once you are asleep focus on losing Freddy and waking up!
2.) Understand the power.
Freddy's power makes tracking survivors easier by two methods:
1.) Survivors OUTSIDE OF HIS TERROR RADIUS have their auras revealed.
2.) Survivors that are asleep have a faint blue glow.
When you are asleep and you can't hear the heartbeat Freddy can see you. My advice is to run to a nearby generator. Since you need to fix them to escape there's a chance an ally is nearby. If nobody is nearby you can just fail a generator skill check then. As a bonus the gen aura can conceal your aura if you are on the opposite side of the generator of Freddy.
3.) Tracking Freddy
Dispite being invisible Freddy still impacts the world in several ways. Freddy:
- Disturbs crows
- Moves grass
- Has audible footsteps
- Can be seen during the transition
- Also has a loud lullaby
Your character will give a clear signal when tagged with sleepiness. If tagged look around for Freddy, though if the lullaby is loud it's safe to say that he's behind you.
Overall, just play around with different counters and find one that works for you. Due to the massive weaknesses of Freddy few killers main him so you should be good overall. Just roll with the punches. -
Well I am glad someone is willing to endure the increased coordination. As a person who periodically plays every killer except Nurse this coordination combined with tougher pallets makes me less than inclined to play killer.
-
Just imagine how short the killer queue times will . . . oh wait, they still haven't fixed the lobby bug have they?Master said:@Mister_Holdout said:
The devs need to nerf looping before they give survivors their big buff.Actually devs will buff looping by smashing the nerf hammer on bloodlust and making it easier to drop pallets.
I am exciteted for the next patch, any guesses how large survivor queue times will be after the new killer hype is over?
-
Folks, I don't think BHVR gave him anything. I imagine he got one of his cultist fans to give him their code.
-
I believe that would work, just be wary of Franklin's and make sure to use White Wards for insurance.
-
Well of course you do, you "escaped".
-
The doc also can't flick Shock Therapy. Just run to the side, he literally cannot turn it quickly to hit you.qawas said:He gets no penalty for just switching stances mid-chase. the fact that you can't throw down a pallet or vault while getting shocked and 2-3 seconds after getting shocked is outrageous.
Possible nerfs could be, a penalty after switching stances (like nurse). removing the fact that you can't throw down pallets or vault during the shock animation and after that.
Madness 2 can decay into Madness 1 again. -

I teabbaged them and will always do it. Just getgud and stop cry about it. This is a surv side game i mean #########?Jesus.....
Dude it's the true. Being Killer sucks and it's triggering af. I always play surv and sometimes killer for fun; some matches i get 4k, another ones any kills but i don't open a thread in the forum to cry and complain about toxic survivors. I just move on and play other match.
I know that. But the way you expressed yourself does not help. Just be a bit empathetic next time please.
It's the true. They're a lot of bad killers in the game and the last straw is that they come to cry because the "survs are toxic" but they camp, they tunnel ppl, they dc to don't give survs escape points, they insult you 'cause you use a perk... I mean, just play the game and stop whining about it. Just deal with it or don't play Killer

", just play the game and stop whining about it." Could you spread this message to the rest of the survivors who seem to review bomb at a tiny buff? When you're done with that please tell the people who keep whining about camping and tunneling to stop complaining here as well too? I understand that despite your toxic behavior you at least have the decency to not whine, but your allies are significantly more vocal on their complaints.

But that's not right! Tier 3 madness prevents you from using your items!

I am already excited how hard killers are nerfed/survivors buffed this time. I am actually waiting for the next strike, its somehow exciting

Technically the Survivor with the trap on their head can just ignore the trap. Aren't you tired of having easy survboi games, while everything in the game is against the killers? You get rid of BL, killers get rid of looping, but this is not okay for you, it would be fair only if the killer were nerfed, huh?
Get rid of BL?If you are a good killer you don't need BL in the first place to land a hit, i don't care about BL changes whatsoever
And then, you're saying that survivors shouldn't use everything at hand to try to 'defend' themselves, instead the should run in a straight line until you down 'em, right?Or maybe stop putting your filthy words in my mouth, read what I said, and stop being a small, 12 year old, survboi strawman? Have you ever tried to juke or stealth? Of course not, because "it is not fun, and looping is the only way to defend, because what? RUNNING IN STRAIGHT LINE, THAT'S WHAT YOU WANT? EASY 4KS?! BREAK THE PALLET".
You should calm down, just like juking and stealth, the so called 'pallet looping' you are so afraid of, it's still an option for the survivor to use if he wants to, and if you can't catch the said survivor you should practice more and stop coming here with your 'nerf this and that' threads, it's that ok with you?
Straw man again, aren;t you tired of it? Why are you so afraid of removing your little exploit? I guess you won't survive without it in this game.
Please if you are on PC and see me tunnel me and facecamp me, i don't want to spend more than 5 minutes in a match with salty killers like you.
Facecamping was removed when Freddy came out, sorry to destroy your marvelous "argument".
When i say facecamping i mean stare at me really close, not being unable to be rescued, sorry for that comeback.
Then use correct term, not the false one, only because it sounds for terrible and metling little survivors' hearts.
Facecamp: face to face. The fact that it was used to mean being unable to be unhooked is just an extra.
What Wraith main Facecamps? They have the uncloak and ambush the just unhooked guy method.
-
The reason they camp on console is because playing killer with a controller blows. Try it sometime!
-
The secret to beating pallets is to force them. When you respect pallets or repeatedly change directions to try to "mindgame" survivors into running towards you, you are wasting time. Just charge straight at them and take sharp turns, make sure to study props especially on Coldwind to avoid getting caught on the front of a wagon or something. Just relentlessly move forward and they will be forced to drop the pallet. When this happens just brake it. Done well this only takes 15 - 25 seconds. If it's a pallet gym try a moonwalk, it might just work.
If you're Huntress try to attack them over the loop with hatchets. If you're Wraith equip Enduring and just run straight at them, even cloaked. Supposedly an Enduring stun on Wraith is faster than an uncloak. Overall just force them to keep burning through pallets. Eventually, you'll catch them or they'll run out of pallets and be vulnerable (Unless they're on Ironworks of Misery or Torment Creek, on those maps you're pretty much screwed anyway.)
-
Well, now we know why the developers have been balancing around low ranks. The only question that remains is why are there ranks at all?
-
Don't know if anyone has said this yet, but the foreground walls look to be made in the oriental paper wall style. Interestingly the background walls are seemingly sheetrock or some modern wall material. This could suggest that the killer will be from an East Asian background. The presence of art makes me think the killer will be Japanese as the Japanese are well known for having a long period in history where art flourished.
Then after combining the themes of darkness and Japan together, I'm going to assume that the killer might be based on either a Ronin (a dishonored or wandering samurai [swordsman]) or the killer will be based on a Ninja. Honestly, I think a ninja is more likely as no one seems to have been able to spot this killer yet. Besides we don't have a stealthy ranged killer yet so a ninja could fill that role.

@Condorloco_26 said:
", nor the killer deserves a free last kill."I strongly disagree with this point. The hatch only opens when just one sole survivor remains (ignoring keys of course). If there is only 1 survivor left at any time this means one of the following has happened:
- All of the other survivors have escaped.
- The killer has successfully killed all of the other survivors.
- All of the other survivors have disconnected.
Knowing this the killer should be granted one "last free kill" for multiple reasons.
The primary reason is that the game is now nearly over. In the first example, where the survivor can escape but chooses not to, admittedly the killer should have a "free kill" as the survivor is refusing to exit the trial. They are willing to risk their base 5000 bloodpoints for escaping just for an extra 2000 bloodpoint bonus. This decision needs greater risk as the killer is losing time they could be spending on another trial because of some greedy survivor who might wast several minutes looking for the hatch and dragging out the game. In the instance where everyone else has been killed, the survivors have undeniably failed the objective and should be punished. Adding to this the fact that the killer has places to be and doesn't want to spend the time they could use in another trial searching for an immersed survivor in Lery's Memorial Institute it's clear why the hatch is a bad idea. Then in the event of multiple disconnects, the survivor should not be given a free escape. The killer will have arguably spent longer than the last survivor waiting for their lobby to fill and then spending an offering (this is, of course, ignoring add-ons). To reward the last survivor for their team ditching is simply mind-boggling.
I understand why the hatch is present in the match. Lore-wise it's a construct of Vigo that the Entity allows to exist as it gives survivors hope that it can feed off of. Gameplay-wise it's a "feel good" mechanic used to make the survivors slightly less upset that they were stomped into the dirt. That, or it's designed to be a cushion for skilled players to fall on when matched with an unskilled team.
However, none of these reasons change the fact that the killer is undeniably punished for doing their objective with the hatch. "Did you kill three of the four survivors? That's great! As a reward, we're gonna let the last guy go free."
I main survivor and there have been a number of games where I've seen a hatch escape that was pure "luck". I honestly would prefer that the hatch didn't exist as it would encourage more teamwork and stop players from just hiding in lockers all game watching their team die. At the very least give the killer a direct bloodpoint bonus at the end of the trial for each person killed. Since just one hatch escape denies them the entire 2500 bloodpoint "No one escaped" reward. Make that bonus come in increments of 625 bloodpoints at least with "One kill 625, Two Kill 1250, Three Kill 1875, No One Escaped 2500"
TL:DR Version:
@Condorloco_26 said:
", nor the killer deserves a free last kill."I strongly disagree with this point. The hatch only opens when there's only one guy left. The killers deserve the kill because the last guy is either greedy, on a losing team, or just unlucky. I can understand the hatch lore and gameplay, but it punishes the killer for killing aka their objective. I usually main survivor and I want to earn my escape. If you want to keep the hatch as a mechanic at least give the killer a percentage of the 2500 bloodpoint bonus for each kill.
-
Well if the killer is watching us does that mean that the killer is another stealth or range killer?
-
I believe he's referring to a character's alt cosmetics. For example if you prestiged a Jake to P4 in this system you could choose to get a bloody windbreaker or something else.

At the stage of the game where the hatch is naturally open balance no longer matters. Dead by Daylight is an asymetrical game. The survivors power is supposed to come from teamwork. If your team is all dead and you're now stuck in a one vs. one scenario with the killer you deserve to die.Chi said:@Hillbilly420 said:
They did fix it in the first PTB. It was completely fair and required the Killer to find the hatch first. But the crybabies all cried their hearts out and said it was unfair and the devs buckled like cucks that they are.How was it fair? Closing the hatch meant the survivor had NO way to get out of the game in the PTB, they had no way to win. Doing a gen was simply never a thing survivors could do before the killer showed up. It was too heavily killer sided to be put out in the actual game. But from what I read on the forums that is what a lot of loud mouth killer mains want. No balance, just 4k.

Solo mode is still around because it was the intended playstyle. The devs intended for 4 random strangers to try to work together to escape a horror slasher.

My current review for Dead by Daylight is positive. If killer gameplay becomes a repetitive sequence of running in circles I will mention that, then change my rating accordingly.
-
I prefer to play survivor personally, but I do play killer sometimes to break up the monotony of survivor gameplay.
I'll give the new patch a chance when it comes out, but if it becomes a dreadful experience I guess I will join Master in his "strike". -
I recall reading somewhere that the designers plan on sticking to bipedal killers. Aside from that I have nothing.

So: Got the Survivor and Killer cosmetics.
The game requests from me to keep playing and keep using BBQ Invitations though, to help others out.
And i'm like: "Yeah, that would be the good thing to do."But...I'm just missing the incentive.
Call me heartless, that's fine, the internet's done worse, but DbD's not my only game and helping others in a videogame is not something i view as a primary goal: I play to have fun.
I exclusively played this game for a few days only for both cosmetics. With last event, there was the whole ordeal of the disgusting "balance" change, but let's put that aside for this discussion.
At least in that event, there was SOME form of common goal.
And i felt like i could help while also profit from it myself, since i don't play only one side and got all characters so far.In short: Due to the lack of personal gain in terms of an end-goal, i myself feel a lack of further contribution.
How about you? You keep playing BBQ Invitations to help others? Or to gain yourself BP?
Do you even play them at all? -
Nothing wrong with getting out. I once handed a Huntress a 3k when she would've gotten a 1k because we did an A-Team rescue on a hooked Jake. To be fair, Jake did escape though.
-
I like this idea a lot actually. Sacrificing 1 perk slot to add more uses to other perks is okay with me. After all since the survivors will have used it (Unbreakable perhaps?) once before the killer will know they have it and prepare accordingly.
-
The devs have gotten asymetrical balance backwards, they have the right premise. The only problem is they're buffing/nerfing backwards.Master said:@Peasant said:

Killers camp because in the third Dev Diary the game director mentioned it. (3:05)BLUE_APE said:@SovererignKing said:
BLUE_APE said:DBD became balanced and looping and camping were not allowed/viable anymore?
What if you all started playing the game the way it was meant to be played, and called out the devs then?
My thought is Dev's are allowing camping because they are allowing Looping.
So why give the DEVs a good reason to stop looping.
We’d do just fine. You see, the game didn’t have Looping at the start when it launched. It was introduced in Patch 1.4.0 when the developers re-sized the Survivors hit boxes to be smaller, in order to make Survivors harder to hit out in the open due to P2P latency and at windows and vaults. As an UNINTENTIONAL side effect of this change, Survivors found out they could run tighter, therefore faster, circles around objects via abusing the smaller collision they have. The game was never balanced with Looping in mind, that’s why it’s an overpowered mechanic and the developers are constantly fighting to rebalance the whole game with it included.
This is because they have to find a way to incorporate it because of all the cry baby Survivors who suck at hiding and LoS jukes. They have no skill and need a way to win by abusing game mechanics and letting the mechanics of the game carry them. instead of playing smart and not getting found and caught.
So is it the same thing for killers on camping? Did the Devs allow camping because some killers have no skill either? Survivors are op, but I'm not like them, I do just fine without DS and I'm great at sneaking around with O.o.O.
So but explain this to the other killers then, other wise they will just keep whinning,
https://youtu.be/SS3DvvOQI04
Another motive might also be that it is a relatively simple strategy that's completely acceptable.
https://youtu.be/NEaFKY3opY0
Is camping a good strategy? Unless the survivors are overly altruistic, no. Is it an honorable strategy? To most people it's not.
Here's the difference between camping and looping though.
Camping is a bad strategy that only one player per match can use that can be countered without perks (gen rush) or it can be crushed with your allies' perks (Borrowed Time).
Looping is a powerful exploit that 4 players can use in a match that can devastate the other team by wasting their time. Not to mention it can consume all 4 perk slots for those who don't want to blinded and run in circles around the map all game. -
Have you seen all of the whining about Camping and Slugging threads?Delfador said:This is a very good solution but I don't think that the devs take forums seriously. If they did, the game would be a lot better now.
-
I have given up a few times. If the match is going foul or some loser farms me next hook I just suicide. Less points for them.

Btw I was thinking of buying halloween dlc for the infamous d-strike. I know it's hated but I see lots of people in lower ranks using it. Should I do it or not? -
The problem is all in the numbers. They need more developers and more survivors as killer lobbies still take time to fill up. They are really just caving to majority votes to desperately hold on to players until significant changes (alternate or secondary objectives for survivors, dedicated servers, etc) can be made.shadowsfall42 said:I didn't see it as problematic. For starters, waiting at a pallet to try and get the stun should be risk vs reward. Either try for the riskier choice and try to get a stun and maybe get hit or throw it down with virtually no risk and no reward. This along with all the other survivor buffs they talked about is just them caving after survivors whined about the first two killer sided patches in forever.
-
Not to mention that Death Garden is a rival game to Dead by Daylight due to the similar premise. Perhaps killers see survivors donning the mask as traitors or deserters?
-
Honestly ranking up in this game as survivor is a blessing and a curse. The better your rank the faster generators get done. At the same time though most players are less altruistic and more on the toxic side of the spectrum.Eveline said:Or I just suck at this game xD. I'm playing for a week and usually I'm rank 12-13. Managed to get to 11 one time.
Can I get better with time or I'm gonna be stuck at the same rank forever? I know lots of people here say rank is not important but what else is there to achieve? I can just have fun and all that but I think I will be bummed If I don't reach rank 5 at least. Probably.
If that doesn't deter you though then I recommend the following tips:
- Wait until the Killer patrols past you before starting repairs. (Decreases odds you will be found first.)
- Watch Usslyis's pallet tutorial to master the art of looping. (If you want to get out alive jukes are recommended, though if you want to rush gens loop their brains out.)
- Master skill checks for optimal gen repair speed.
- If less than 3 generators remain try to find totems. (If the killer uses NOED it'll counter gen rush.)
- Don't do anything you'd consider "toxic". ( If you don't teabag the killer then there's less chance they'll camp you.) -
There are a handful of add-ons that essentially delete themselves and sometimes the items they are attached to, though this is fairly well communicated.
All of the add-ons can be viewed here:
https://deadbydaylight.gamepedia.com/Add-ons
Personally I recommend you look for : Brand New Part, Stypic Agent, and the Anti-Hemorrhagic Syringe as the add-on consume themselves and most items when used. -
Sounds to me like you're just playing the game. After all, the main objective for you is for you to escape. Helping others can be nice, but at the end of the day it's your job to escape.
-
At the time of the original post I had just played Runner so far. After playing a round of Hunter I found that I was easily abused by the experienced runners.Larcz said:I play yesterday as hunter and survs bully me as fk all time i got shot some slow down or vision blur and when i shot to somone they shot some heal arrows? And in this time one person make objective.Rather i say no thanks no need second bully symulator.
However the Hunters do have 2 benefits Dead by Daylight's killers lack.
- The Bloodpost is usually a death sentence.
- This means that unless the runners are very coordinated people you catch just die.
- The hunter wait time was less than a minute for me
- Most killer lobbies in Dead by Daylight have a longer wait time, then you have a random chance of getting a good or bad game. Death Garden can have you bullied for sure, but at least they don't make you wait for it. -
From what I can tell, most toxic survivors lack any actual skill in any other online game. So in a desperate attempt to boost their own frail egos they use every opportunity they have to taunt the killer, failing to realize that their taunting exposes them to any good killer.Vortexas said:I just got a Three Kill from what should have been a Zero kill because Survivors got cocky.
