Calling a camper is harassing? As if he didnt ruin the game by standing next to the hook repeatedly hitting someone. Probably a legit strategy in your eyes.Get off your high horse. All you do is defend killer side no matter what. Its pathetic. Really wish this forum had a block button.
Camping and hitting someone repeatedly on the hook are not the same thing. You accused him of the former before you harassed him (yes, it's harassment), and said that he did the latter after you'd harassed him. If you'd actually said everything from the start, then I would've supported your side.
Get off your paranoid horse.

Ah, that's why I haven't played her for so long...
And that is why I haven't played her in a long time as well. Seems the Entity loves to ######### me and give me the worst possible map for the Nurse. I know it's random, but when your choice of Killer can be essentially neutralized by a map, kinda takes the fun out of playing that Killer.

No
Not in the lobby atleast.

Wrong. Killers could always see them. It was only Survivors that got the ability to do so later on.
No they couldn't

Interesting. Seems I was wrong. Killers did have the ability to see Survivors' profiles, though, of that I'm certain. Back when infinites became widespread, there was even a blacklist with Survivors who abused them (as you can imagine, it was a very, very long list).

If you're being harassed without justification, that's what the report system is for.
The report system is worthless and you know it.
Stop defending everything killer sided as always ffs. All I'm hearing is "I wanna see their profiles so I can dodge if I think they're SWF or really good".
The report system is not worthless, and you'd know that if you'd actually used it. Peanits has proven time and time again that reports are looked at.
I don't defend anything. I'm explaining why Killers still have the ability to check Survivor profiles and why the reverse isn't true.

That's an over generalization and you know it since most won't abuse anything anymore than most killers won't. There's always going to be that small % on both sides that abuse anything they can.Cough Tinker II, Clown reload cough.
It's not, and you know it. In my experience, Survivor exploits spread and are reported by Killers, whereas Killer exploits are reported by both sides. Both are abused, mind you, but Survivors finding and abusing exploits occurs far more often than Killers doing the same thing. There are exceptions, as with all things.
Well of course there's more survivors doing it since common sense dictates that there's more of them to do so. If there's 4 survivors to every 1 killer in a match then that's 4x the chances of it being exploited compared to 1.
You can't say that 1 side doesn't report it's own since that's completely false and you know it since I see survivor posts about this stuff. Both sides do it, both sides report it and both sides have their idiots with the side having more players having more.
Lets not pretend that killers are somehow angels in all this since they're most certainly not, on both sides the small % makes each side look bad. Because as with the Tinkerer bug it was a survivors that reported it not killers. Those same killers then all suddenly started exploiting it until the devs started banning people.
As far as survivor side exploits i've been paying attention and trying to report any I see and if I get a map tile with a known location i start a video to send in.
I meant it's disproportionately so. Tinkerer II was not as heavily abused as, say, insta-flashlights or Dead Hard.
I didn't say that one side doesn't report their own exploits. Like I said, there are exceptions. I also didn't say that Killers are angels. My experience is the way it is - Survivor exploits get passed around and abused, Killer exploits get reported.

I said they were different perks. What I also said is that they are too similar. They both do the same thing (increase chance of self unhook) even though SM lets you get outta traps easier. Deliverance gives you unbroken status and requires a safe unhook to work but it's so much more useful a lot more often than SM.And my point is that they aren't "too similar". They're for different play styles.
You say Deliverance is more useful than Slippery Meat, but it has activation conditions and consequences. Someone who's not too inclined to pull off a hook rescue or doesn't want to risk the Broken status effect that comes with Deliverance might take Slippery Meat.
Slippery Meat also synergizes with luck offerings and perks, which Deliverance does not. -

It's just like deliverance except you are less likely to get off the hook. Making a safe save is quite easy. Slippery meat is more damaging to your team whereas deliverance isn't because you know you are getting off first time. They are just too similar and I think slippery meat is nowhere near as good as deliverance.
Slippery Meat also increases the chance to get out of bear traps, works even if you're the first one to be hooked, and doesn't give you the Broken status effect.
They're different perks. -
I think the perk is fine as it is. At tier 3 it grants 3 additional attempts to get off the hook, which result in a 21.7% chance to get off after all six attempts, as opposed to the default 11.5% chance after 3 attempts.
-
Like colorblind support, this is an important issue. If nothing else, it will help solve the problem of people killing themselves on the hook because tapping the space bar is boring.
If I may, though, it should be hold to stop. For people with muscle/nerve issues, holding or tapping really doesn't make much of a difference. Holding down a button for a full minute can be just as difficult as tapping it. It should also be a choice. -

This isnt a participation trophy its the equivalent of working on a project. You are entitled to extra marks for extra effort put in, this is standard in academics and business. Survival isnt enough to judge a good survivour. To many weak players escape because their best players took the fall. And who is more likely to survive consistently: the weak players, or the good players?
No ranking system will ever be perfect, but I'd argue that one that takes into account every trial equally is better than the one that tries to compensate for the odd trials where it seems like everything's against you. -
@Zarathos said:
Problem with the the suggested survivour pipping system is it screws the player who plays the martyr. This new system would encourage survivours to not bother doing gens in a losing game and wait on hatch. The metrics for pipping also screws the looper who will often die keeping the killer busy as an average killer will at least get one kill. Even in marths depip squad this would often happen to one of their players. Success in dbd should be warranted on the effort you have made to escape. It not fair to screw the players who got objectives done while the coward waits out hatch.
The survivour need the unbroken category adjusted so merely escaping dosent reward gold. As its very easy to get carried to exit gates by one decent looper. Let survival tie into your other categories. Unbroken should gain points for all the other categories but reduce the base emblem for escaping.
It screws the player who dies, yes. Why should someone who failed to survive be rewarded just because everyone else managed to get out? Effort counts for nothing if you still lose. This isn't kindergarten; participation trophies should not be handed out.

Well isn't that the thing for killers now? They just dodge the lobby is they see more than one P3 Claudette let alone steam accounts. lol
I really don't see who is this going to be abused by survivors unless you really know this killers plays a certain way you dislike or else why would you dodge them?
Congrats, you figured it out. Survivors were dodging everything and everyone under the sun. Play a certain Killer? Dodged. Don't allow free unhooks? Dodged. Too experienced? Dodge.
It was breaking queue times and it was breaking lobbies.
Most Survivors will abuse everything they can and shoot themselves in the foot by doing so. This is why many mechanics that they asked for were thrown away - because they themselves were abusing them to the detriment of the game itself. -
Pips should be tied to the actual win conditions for each role.
If you die, you depip (or black pip, depending on the other metrics); if you survive, you pip (or double pip, depending on the other metrics).
For the Killer, you depip if you get 0-1 kills, black pip if you get 2, pip if you get 3, double pip if you get 4.Bonus: When pipping is tied to the purpose of each role, then we can get some proper data.
-
How do you think a dodge feature would be abused? Think about it for a second.

@Countfunkular said:
Okay, I actually do agree with you on this one. He's a lot stronger than people give him credit for.
However, people will always look at killers in these three ways.
1. If it isn't top tiers it's garbage
2. How many builds can you make with it if any at all.
3. Is this at least fun to play if it isn't topped here. Which is rare for people to fall in this category because most would like to end the game with more than one kill- Games should be balanced at the top. The problem with the "not every Killer is meant to be competitive" BS is that you end up with the same Killers at the top (Nurse and Hillbilly at the moment). This results in a rash of disconnects to derank, on both sides. Survivors don't want to face the same Killers over and over again, and Killers would like to be able to play something else from time to time as well.
- Variety staves off boredom.
- Yes, Killers would like to be able to kill. That's the whole point of the role. A Killer who can't kill is only going to be fun for one side, and it's not the Killer. Most people who play Killer don't care about points; they care about the role.
-
This used to be possible, but it was heavily abused by Survivors. It's not coming back.

And at least he has to abide by melee attacks. Unlike Anna up there.
And at least she has to abide by visibility. Unlike Phillip up there.
And at least he is somewhat visible even while cloaked. Unlike Freddy up there.
And at least he has a "terror radius" even though he's invisible. Unlike Amanda up there. And so on. Every Killer has something they excel at. That's what makes them different characters, as opposed to skins.

Imagine a Killer perk that allowed them to go to a fully repaired generator and immediately put it at 50% repair status. Now imagine they could do it up to four times, but they could only do it to any generator once. That's Decisive Strike.
DS prolongs chases by 50% and essentially punishes the Killer for catching someone. On bad Survivors it's hardly noticeable, but when the Survivor knows all the loops, it all but guarantees that Survivor will escape.

Out of curiosity... what was the issue with this? Was it a server thing, or did someone complain about getting all those LoLs? Because you can only LoL a post once... or were they LoLing on and off? I'm just trying to understand if the concern was for the server or the person.
They would have dozens of alt accounts set up to automatically LOL posts. So some people ended up with thousands of LOLs because of it.

So we're going to try this out for a while. Hopefully we'll be able to get a tighter reaction system some day, but for now we're going to roll with this and see how it goes. The silver lining is that this might promote some constructive discussions. Rather than just dog-piling on someone you disagree with and flooding them with LOLs, someone's going to have to post why they think it's a bad idea and then everyone can upvote that.
Is there any plans to update other parts of the forum anytime soon or is that out the window. idk about anyone else but I find the notification system kind of annoying because it doesn't take me to oldest new post on a thread if there's a lot of new post. Instead I usually have to manually go back a page because it only shows me the last 3 notifications.
It's all still being worked on. If you've got specific things in mind that you'd like to see changed, I'd suggest dropping them into the Forum Feedback subforum. We check it often.

Saying that, we do need dedicated servers, if Death Garden can get them, why not DBD since it actually has a larger player base.I didn't realize DBD had some many network programmers. In all seriousness, it's a huge undertaking for a game built around P2P whereas Deathgarden was built around dedicated servers from the start. It would surely introduce a whole new plethora of bugs and we wouldn't get any new content for a while which would lead to the people complaining now about servers would be complaining about the bugs.
If you read above, I stated the issue would be budget and resources. My initial point was if they made death garden around servers, I wonder why they did not initially with DBD.
Because nobody expected DbD to be a big success. The publisher gave them a relatively small budget and time constraints, so they had to make do with what they had. Dedicated servers would've been too costly.
