  • Maybe the problem is that you're treating the Nurse like any other loopable Killer. Try actually adapting to what she can do.

The few times I’ve reported someone I’ve revicied a message saying they took action.. whenever I report someone for saying homophobic terms to me.. I NEVER get a message saying action was taken on my report.

The devs don't send messages saying that action was taken, so I'm guessing you're reporting them to Steam.

  • Why do you believe they don't get banned?

This has been done, but I agree it should only be for SWF, b/c frankly I'm not interested in sitting around waiting to see their loadout and thus increasing the chances of ending up in their room again only to be tunneled and camped again by the same killer.

It should affect everyone because you can just add the SWF and tell them the Killer's perks.

Why do console players have to be peasants? You people are a disgusting community.

Maybe it's just me, but on the rare occasions when I say "console peasant", I mean the kind that will pretend consoles have better hardware than PC and spread lies and propaganda about how "expensive" PC gaming is.

I'm not saying to nerf lunge to the ground, or to remove it, I'm simply suggesting to nerf it alittle, so that killers have to be closer to strike

At the moment, the lunge range is around 3 meters (2-meter "dash" + 1-meter weapon). A quick attack has a 1-meter range, assuming it's the same size as the weapon. So, how much to you want it nerfed by?

EDIT: Keep in mind I'm assuming these numbers based on weapon length.

$1500 is like a cutting edge PC. lol

Buyer's remorse in some console players is very powerful, which is why they make up those strawmen.

Console players should know by now that their hardware is literal years out of date and they'll never get the same performance or graphical fidelity (or support) for the long term.

To date, only a couple games I've really wanted to play have been console exclusives; everything else has released on PC or can be emulated.

They should, but they don't. They think that you need to spend 3x as much on a computer that has hardware equivalent to a console's, and twice as often as you'd buy a new console. Try to tell them the truth, that you only really need to upgrade one part every 5 years or so (barring any malfunctions, obviously), and they won't believe you.

I concur. Its mind blowing how ignorant console peasants can be. I built my computer in late 2016. Mid range hardware. 15 6600, RX 480, 16GB of RAM and over 2 years later it is still going strong. Plays everything i throw at it perfectly. If you build it yourself a 700 - 800 dollar computer can last years before needing a hardware upgrade.

Indeed. The oldest piece mine has is the motherboard, which is some 6-7 years old, and while it is going to need a replacement eventually due to advancements in hardware, it's still in perfect working condition. The latest piece I upgraded was my GPU, and even that was only because I wanted to. The previous one, which I still have, works fine, even after 5 years - it's just not as powerful. The CPU I have is also 6 years old, perfect working condition.
Computers are cheaper if you build them yourself, and more powerful. Propaganda, however, has consumers buying inferior hardware for higher prices, and so we're all getting screwed in the process with inferior ports and games being made with inferior hardware in mind.

For those wondering, you do still get slightly better bloodwebs when prestiging. It's not significant. Prestiging is meant to be optional for people who play the game a lot, not necessary to get good stuff.

So is it the same slightly as Salt Pouch? Is it so insignificant that it really couldn't be tested in practice?

Probability of a self-unhook after 3 attempts without Salt Pouch ~11.53% (slightly over 1/9)
Probability of a self-unhook after 3 attempts with one Salt Pouch ~14.26% (slightly under 1/7)
Probability of a self-unhook after 3 attempts with two Salt Pouches ~16.94% (slightly over 1/6)
Probability of a self-unhook after 3 attempts with three Salt Pouches ~19.56% (slightly under 1/5)
Probability of a self-unhook after 3 attempts with four Salt Pouches ~22.13% (slightly over 1/5, and almost double the default)

You may think it's irrelevant, but math doesn't lie. Problem is, humans don't understand probability and statistics.

It was a useless offering before and remains a useless offering now. However, giving any insta-kill to the base kit is too overpowered, IMO.

The majority of players don't like camping but we would need other mechanics to make camping redundant. Your suggestion isn't a solution, sorry. That doesn't mean that you should stop making suggestions if you can come up with good ideas. :)

I'd like to think the majority doesn't like camping but if it's an issue than clearly not enough people dislike it. I don't have any statistics on this, so I'll have to take your word for it.

How is my suggestion not a solution?

Your suggestion is not a solution because:

    • Camping should always be an option for the Killer. Forcing the Killer to give free unhooks only makes hooks even less relevant than they already are.
    • Camping is inherently bad for the Killer, regardless of your excuses that "not everyone plays SWF". Your opponent is doing nothing for two full minutes.
    • It was already tried in the PTB and Survivors abused it.
    • Camping is a symptom; not a problem. Giving a blood transfusion to someone with a severed femoral artery and ignoring the wound is not a solution.
    • Camping is a Survivor-created problem with a Survivor-side solution. Like it or not, camping became widespread due to Survivors rewarding it.

Genuinely I feel like you all 3 are just killer mains. I get that survivors abused a system that attempted to thwart people who use camping.
That's all you needed to say.

I don't agree with you on your other_ opinions_.

The last part, at the very least, is not an opinion. It's a documented fact that anyone who's played the game since release can tell you. Back in the beginning, Survivors knew to rush gens when the Killer was camping. Nowadays, they want to force free unhooks.

By the way, even if the rest are opinions doesn't mean pointing that out makes them invalid. This entire thread is your opinion, but you don't see anyone dismissing it out of hand because of it.

Saying survivors reward camping and it's survivor's fault isn't entirely fair. It's one of the main four categories and survivors typically miss out entirely on one category as survival doesn't reward more than 5k and it rewards nothing if you don't get out. Besides, it isn't hopeful for survivors. If you don't have people on page, you are unlikely to get gens done in time to actually punish that behavior. If you're playing solo, you can't tell everyone you're being camped, so people are wasting time checking. Honestly it's poor gameplay and only rewarded 'cause it's boring. If killer camps, that only leaves survivors with M1ing to victor. There isn't chases, no saves, etc. It also means you're likely getting a bronze in that category and no points unless you farm hits. You also won't get any points towards boldness and could get a bronze or a black pip, depending. Then if you get camped, you're likely not getting much points unless it's done a few generators in or with the doors opened.

Still, I wouldn't say the issue is forcing free hooks. I know how some survivors are entitled, but you also have to realize that that's how they get their points and they may want to make plays to get everyone out or as many as possible.

TLDR; Camping is boring for survivors and you're likely to not get pips or points unless you feed into camping and try to go for save; therefore, not entirely survivor's fault.

I get that camping is boring. Having been on all sides of camping (the one doing the camping, the one being camped, and the one not being camped), I understand that it's boring. It's boring to do, boring to experience, and boring when it's being done to someone else. However, Survivors do reward camping, and it is their fault that Killers do it as often as they do.
When the game was first released, Survivors rushed generators when one of them was being camped. However, they soon started to let their entitlement get to their heads and tried to force unhooks even if the Killer was right there. This meant zero generator progress, and thus more time for the Killer to win. Eventually, Killers realized that they didn't have to go hunting for Survivors all that much - hook one, and the vultures come to you all on their own.
The ones who were camped, rather than blame the people who were actually to blame - the hook vultures - blamed the Killers, which only furthered the vultures' entitlement. After all, if the people whose rounds you're actively ruining are on your side, then surely you must be right.
So yes, it is actually entirely the Survivors' fault. The vultures for, well, being vultures, and the ones who blame Killers who take advantage of the vultures. This is a PvP game; taking advantage of your opponent's mistakes is what you're supposed to do.

What's your opinion on intentionally De-Ranking for any reason?

Personally, I feel like it ruins the gameplay experience on so many levels, whether that means destroying lower ranked survivors, frustrating new killers, or carrying less skillful players in matches that should be learning experiences for them.

I'm personally hoping that with the eventual installation of dedicated servers, that harsher penalties follow.

Most people dont rerank to ruin others experiences, but so they stop facing the SAME people over and over and over again. Really this should be directed at the devs for such poor match making rather than the players

That's how high ranks work in any game. Only the very top players should be able to reach the top ranks.

Solo Survivor just keeps getting worse and worse to play as

How does this nerf solo Survivors in any conceivable way? Does knowing the Killer's perks after you've already left the trial benefit you in any way?

Heyo, didn't say this was a nerf. It just makes solo unappealing. I had a game on PTB that when I died, lasted 20 minutes and it's not really an attractive change as a solo survivor.

It just makes me want to play SWF only, really.

The question is still essentially the same. How does this change anything? Do you have to see the Killer's perks at the end of each and every trial or else you can't enjoy it?

Questions not the same, but anyway

@Milkymalk summarized it pretty well. It's nice to know if it was him who found me, or the use of BBQ or Nurse's. Did he have Tombstone on Myers or Unlimited EW3? Well, you can't find out because you're the first one who's died and the match lasted 25 minutes because of a hatch standoff.

It's mental satisfaction on knowing what I got outplayed with.

Now, I do understand this change was implemented in spite of demand due to the problem of what?... oh right, [BAD WORD] SWF. Because friends can tell each other if a Killer has NOED, BBQ, Bloodwarden, etc.

Which I get, but it's funny to me. Your NOED was already negated by me, a solo survivor, who took out your 5 totems. Your bloodwarden never activated because I know if someone is going down while I'm opening the gate, I'll leave a sliver before fulling opening it prior to the survivor being hooked. And for your BBQ and Nurses, well that's where your on the fence because it's not that hard to tell, so I guess that's irrelevant.

So, yes, my experience is gonna become more suck-ish with this change considering as prior to it, it was how I liked it. I'm allowed to voice my distaste too, I'm tired of this game heading in a direction that's discouraging playing solo survivor.

Maybe with Dedicated Servers, they'll be able to change it where SWF are considered groups separate from Solo Survivors and will be able to implement features around such. (Like, Solo Survivors can see Killer loadouts right away but SWF cannot)

"Essentially the same". Emphasis on "essentially". The words may change, but the rationale does not. If seeing the Killer's perks is where you derive most of your satisfaction from, to the point that having to wait to do so (or not being able to do so at all) ruins your experience, you may just not like the game all that much.

In other words, it's a placebo with no effect other than messing with the minds of weaklings.

Pretty much. At tier 3, with 4 Survivors injured, you get about:

    • 94,12 seconds of generator repair time (14,12 extra seconds)
    • 18,82 seconds of healing others or being healed by others (2,82 extra seconds)
    • 37,65 seconds of self-healing with Self-Care (5,65 extra seconds)
    • 16,47 seconds of totem cleansing (2,47 extra seconds)
    • 32,29 seconds of hook sabotage with Saboteur (2,29 extra seconds)

The community needs to give up this over critical attitude.

If there's a serious issue that in some way makes the product unsatisfactory, I have the reasonable expectation of them to fix it so that it doesn't impact my enjoyment of the product I paid for. Paid. For.

I didn't get this game nor any of its bonus content for free, so to act like paying customers are entitled because they expect fixes for very real issues (long lobby times, imbalance, etc) is asinine.

People need to stop brown nosing for companies expecting to receive some sort of e-pat on the back. DS has been cancer incarnate to this game and they don't DARE nerf it. Meanwhile machine gun was obliterated so fast and anytime a killer is remotely strong or has a strong perk they obliterate it without hesitation. People have the right to complain as most people care about things that are going to make their gameplay better. I have noticed they have reduced pallets on some maps but it's simply a bandaid fix to a much larger issue which is map balance.

They need to have bugs fixed before releasing new content.

They need to completely rework maps and stop making buildings with double-windows that can be looped.

They need to completely rework all of the old maps that have a bunch of areas that are massive time-wasters, like hay bails that cannot be mind-gamed and 4 jungle gyms+killer shacks in a map.

    They need to nerf DS.

    They need to fix legion.

    They need to fix freddy

Until then expect people to be salty. It is like I have a broken leg and they bring me medication that is useful for treating a cold. It is "helpful", but is completely avoiding the major issue(s).

But the problem will also be demand for it, if they see that there is not enough players to keep it active, well, bummer, no way to play at all. I hope for those cases, Killer hosted games might still be a possibility.

And just for the record, you and the other dude do not have "a different way of understanding percentages". You are objectively and demonstrably wrong about how percentages work, and that's all.

Only if you're legit blind i guess, and at that point you probably have way bigger issues to deal with.

Some people are colorblind, but even those who aren't have different sensitivities to different colors. Some people find red on black easy to read, others not so much.

im not diagnosed any eye disease but im sure for me is harder red and black skillchecks that regular ones, like most of people I guess

Same here. Well, except for the "eye disease" bit. I do have a couple of those...

Do you even listening what i'm saying?

ok - try posting these formula in internet calculator

    16/(((1-25%)-20%)+33%)

and you seeng of my formula

    16/(1-0.25-0.5)

and you will see that there is a VERY big diferences between 0.25 and 25%

i got even link for you
    https://www.google

what the hell is going on

me and other dude just were had diferent seeng of % things - don't mind it.. just stay away from all this

    0.25=25%. See the % sign? 25% = 25/100 = 0.25.

    126 - 22% + 22% = 98.5

    How old are you?

They are punishing themselves by Gen Tapping trust me.

It's much faster to simply power through the ruin, than tap even if you can't get hit those hex skill checks.

I just started using gen tapping- it works way better than powering through.

Practice Great Skill Checks. If you can hit Great Skill Checks every time, generators will take 80 seconds. If you tap, however, there's a short period where you can't interact with the generator every single time, and it quickly adds up.

Hey Orion, are you stalking me or is this all you do with your time?

Just waiting for lunch and trying to give out friendly advice. You can take it or leave it.

5,000 posts don't come from just waiting for lunch, and you've only joined in june!? Lol okay. I guess I'll just have to take your word for it.

Also, next time you can just say "get gud" because that's what your advice basically is.

I was referring to now, specifically.

I merely pointed out that hitting Great Skill Checks makes generator repair faster than tapping. Like I said, you can take it or leave it.

You're assuming no one is aiming for great skill checks already, so uh, yeah. Thanks. Great advice /s

No, I just know that some people can't hit Great Skill Checks consistently, which is often why they use the inferior tactic known as "gen tapping". Personally, I prefer to just find the totem, since I consider both the previous tactics to be boring, although that get frustrating as well when the totem is hard to find.
