A lot of times it isn't about playing the game "normally," but playing a social game with friends. I honestly die more with friends 'cause i'm talking or not as focused, listening to others. Or we do silly mini games cause we're bored.

And Killers dodge not because they're "scared", but because they want to have fun, and SWF are unfun more often than not.

  • I like it. It makes no sense for Survivors to be able to delay the game out of spite, despite there being no conceivable way for them to win.

Is there someone so stupidly stupid to believe that scam?
If it's the case, Darwin laws are not working.

Fake college degrees are a big business, particularly in the USA. People travel there to buy degrees, then go back to their own countries to assume positions of power. This is a real problem in some countries, particularly China. Look it up.
It's not a scam in the usual sense, since you're actually getting something useful out of it. It's more like forgery.

I would hope so, some of those chases were 6 minutes at least. Too bad it wasn’t SWF at all.

And you're surprised you were camped? Since only the third hook has any long-lasting effects in the game, assuming you don't camp, it's better to take out the biggest pain in the ass ASAP.

some people can surprise you though...all meek and pretending they are no good and then BAM they become that pain in the ass....if i am the killer and i have a good survivor, who i just can't get i go off and look for others....i have found as i am chasing them, others have done 2 gens in this time...

Unless they go down in 40 seconds or less, that will happen regardless.

What’s interesting to me, is that all of these campings (except The Legion’s) happened when there were exactly 2 generators left.

Chasing one means three Survivors were still working on generators.

When killers has to camp just cause you’re better at the game.

When Survivors pretend that they're better than the guys they lost to.

  • Teach Survivors stealth.

The devs have already stated that the nurse is going to be changed significantly. She is almost unstoppable on PC, and is a complete joke on console. I luv it when we see a nurse, as I know it’s going to be an easy game. However, they also stated that she will most likely be the last killer that they balance (significantly nerf on PC), so I wouldn’t expect anything big for at least 2 years. I would expect much smaller changes that may help other killers, but somewhat break nurse, or at least hurt her. The end game changes will have been completed long before her changes have begun.

Where did they state that? Post a direct link to your source.

  • Pay me the full price of the DLC and an extra €1 for every hour I could spend playing the Legion from now until the end of time, and we have ourselves a deal.

  • So how do you explain bugs being fixed when very few people know about them?
There's no correlation between something being abused and how quickly it gets fixed. Programming does not work that way, period.

  • @AlphaJackson said:
I agree obviously to report those who verbally abuse somebody, or team with the killer. however I think glitch spots per say while annoying shouldn't be a reportable offence, infact I believe that a glitch spot should be used alot in order to gain publicity and make the fix for said spot faster.

That's not how bug fixes work. Do you think that if a forest is burning down faster, the firefighters suddenly get new gear and spontaneously develop superpowers to put it out?

I been using a map to track totems and then use it to find the hatch. It's basically a crutch for me because I don't have to waste time finding totems.

Edit: You know the 10% haste effect only last for 30 seconds, right?

Playing in any way except perkless, itemless, and add-onless is a crutch.

Yes, I get that. An increase of 10% to the Killer's base movement speed is slightly higher than Bloodlust II.

  • @Tsulan said:
That would be unreliable. A crouching pig is slow af. Going into crouching instead of breaking the pallet would even cost more time.

I was thinking more along the lines of tricking the Survivors into letting you get closer.

  • Do you mean during the actual lunge, or just when she's crouching? I could see it work when she's crouching, give her the same vault animations as Survivors, but not during the actual lunge.

  • @Nickenzie said:
This isn't exactly fair to the survivor role. Hear me out, I can cleanse every totem I see but still have NOED activate because my teammates didn't help me (ironically they escape with me facing the punishment). Basically, it's a 1v1 situation (since I'm the only survivor cleansing all if the totems) when the game is built around a 1v4. Knowing this, a single survivor will struggle to find 5 totems since that task is meant for all survivors.

Your rework would make NOED completely broken. 10% speed increase is a big difference. If your teammates don't break totems, you can also use Dark Sense and hide.

  • Use the in-game report system. Bans may not be available on consoles yet, but the report system still works. Reports are logged and looked at. Naming-and-shaming isn't helpful.

I always try to avoid these tactics as I understand survivors find them toxic and I can agree that it's not fun if the killer sticks by you and chases you off the hook. But I think that a lot of people let their own subjective experiences get in the way of their own objective evaluations. I'll constantly come by people who attempt to derail them as legitimate and legal strategies simply because they don't enjoy them. It's the same with the "gen rush." The main difference between the concepts is that gen rushing is a byproduct of a genuine flaw in the game's core design, (however still legitimate and legal in and of itself), whereas, camping and tunneling are not.

Now, a lot of the time, I feel like camping hurts the killer as you surrender all pressure, but if the killer knows you're an overly altruistic team, or the exit gates are powered, why wouldn't they stick around when you're essentially giving them free pressure? It's the same with tunneling: It can be the more efficient move. If I'm not already in a chase, or I am and I see you get unhooked, why wouldn't I switch to you if you're one hook closer to death? One hook closer to that 3v1. Personally, I have no problem if the killer signals me out and/or camps me because I get that that's how they've decided to play and depending on their situation, it might be the smarter move. I also have no problem if survivors do gens really fast because what else is there for them to do really?

TL;DR, at the end of the day, both survivors and killers will play how they want to play. It's pointless to try and control that reality. Try to get past that and enjoy the game or move on.

I'm curious on your's guys' thoughts.

Camping and tunneling work. I never have and ever will understand how people who say they lead to losing are playing, because it works for me far more often than not. In three years with this game, it's consistently worked from browntown all the way to rank 1, all season very season. Never has it not been efficient to systematically remove my opposition.

Of course they work. That's why they want them to go away.

Have the devs apparently commented that you need to quit 80% of matches to get banned?

That is what one responded to me. It sounds like nonsense and I hope that isn't true.

I think it is more like 33%.

No percentage has been stated. To be clear, one slipped out during a livestream, but it has been changed since then. Fact is, nobody outside the devs (and maybe the mods) have any idea of what the threshold is.

Peanits said that. An ACM. Not a dev.

They're not going to ban for dcs from the last 2 years combined that'd be dumb everyone would be banned.

No, only people who've willfully broken the rules because they thought they were safe from punishment would be banned. If you're not part of that group, you've got nothing to worry about.

  • Yes, they've said that people will be banned retroactively once bans come out. And yes, it's going to be hilarious.

Some killers have to resort to lag switching, maybe if survivors weren't so painfully overpowered then this entire issue wouldn't have come up at all. BUFF THE KILLERS.

Don't be so naïve. Cheating of any kind would only be significantly reduced, at best, if the game was balanced. Lagswitching will only go away with dedicated servers.

Just coming from me personally, a significant reduction in lagswitching would be better than no change at all for an entire year. just saying.

Oh, definitely. I'm just saying, don't think balancing the game will completely stop lagswitching.

I agree with you on that. I think it's an absolute joke that the game has had this issue for so long and were only getting dedicated servers now. I believe the game will be almost completely dead by the time dedicated servers are implemented.

    History lesson:

    • The publisher didn't give them the budget for dedicated servers when the game first launched. This is because nobody expected the game to be a big success.
    • Afterward, they bought back the game from the publisher.
    • By this point, the game had already been built on P2P, so switching to dedicated servers would require a lot of manpower and money.
    • It was only now that the devs have been able to switch to dedicated servers.

Thanks for that, had no idea in all honesty. But is there any point now? It will have been three years since its release. Just kind of seems like its not worth the money.

You'd think so, right? But the fact is, the game has only grown since release, and a lot more than anyone could have predicted. With console releases and everything, DbD is an unexpected success story - a niche game that sold ridiculously well.

Right at the moment they see you run away from them though

I've had to step away from the game after my first kill. I've even had to DC (or more accurately, was forced to DC) because the power went out in my street after all generators were powered. Correlation does not imply causation.

  • @redsopine01 said:
When you go from no lag and juking and making a bunch of saves to seen picking a guy up and suddenly laggy enough to mess up a straight forward vault out of no where what would you think

    I'd think "lag".

  • @LegitAdventurer said:
I play both sides though. So I see both sides. I just don't understand the complaints y'all have. Sure,  being tea bagged isnt fun. But randoms will tea bag just as much as an SWF group would. Because its the same thing. I personally don't tea bag killers ever cuz it's just rude and gives the survivors an unnecessary disadvantage lol.

I didn't say "sides". I mean your personal PoV. You don't understand the complaints because you're only looking at it from your personal PoV.
Randoms do not teabag as much as SWF groups. On average, rounds with SWF are less fun than rounds without SWF.

  • You can explain away every single complaint from your PoV, but it won't matter. People want games to be fun. If you make their games unfun, they'll dodge.

  • @redsopine01 said:
Ffs I never said lag switching I'm saying they started to lag the game with stuff to mess up vaults for hits

Same difference. You're claiming it was intentional.

  • @LegitAdventurer said:
    What does this even mean?

Do you think map-wide, real-time communication is an intended feature?
Bottom line, though, Killers aren't "scared" to go up against SWF. They just don't think it's fun.

  • Why are SWF afraid of playing the game normally? This goes both ways.

  • I think this is unnecessary and that people just need to understand how randomness works. This would incentivize DCing on maps you don't want to play, which would escalate the DC issue even further.

  • Yes, I do think you'd open a thread even if you knew the reason. It's been done before, so why not by you this time?

  • It's my experience that people who complain about "censorship" are those who know exactly why their threads and comments were deleted, but are trying to make themselves look like the victim of some massive conspiracy to oppress their "perfectly valid/reasonable" PoVs.
With that in mind, why don't you tell me why the threads were deleted? I heard one of them mentioned me by name, but, regrettably, I was otherwise occupied at the time.

It couldn't be because any aren't producing enough hope he could just dump them and get new survivors, So I submit that the entity can't collect hope as efficiently anymore, the Entity is dying he has reached his final millinia among us and he is trying to pull as much hope as possible to prolong and postpone his inevitable fate the void.

I might be thinking stupid, but if the Entity can constantly pluck people into his universe why would he ever be starved of hope? We have all the playable survivors, the survivors mentioned in perks and the survivors from the original PC trailer. As far as I can tell, there are more survivors than we could ever count.

Because it eventually dawns on Survivors that there's no way out. They lose all emotional response as the living nightmare they're in becomes the new normal for them. At that point, they're of no use to the Entity, so She casts them into the Void.

But there will always be more people to grab right? Also I heard someone say that survivors who lose all hope sometimes become killers, a few of the playable killers had to be forced to kill before they embraced it.

Grabbing people takes effort on the Entity's behalf. She is, after all, punching holes in the universe.
EDIT: Also, that bit about Survivors becoming Killers was apparently changed or just a rumor.

  • Everyone who participated in that conversation should be banned, yourselves included.

  • Thanatophobia affecting only the Survivors who are injured could work as a base mechanic, and the perk would then just apply the effect to all Survivors and multiply it. No Mither would, of course, ignore this mechanic.
