Quoting is all messed up now, so I can'y quote.
@Orion The Basment shouldn't be free kills though. It can be dangerous and still would be. You shouldn't expect free kills just cause you hook or find someone there.
@incirion You really need to get better at Killer. You already told me the whole reason you're against this is cause it hurts you camping people in the basement cause of BT. Don't rely on basement camping and your skills will improve.
@Slayer More exploitable than a camo Claud UE in a corner with the gates open.
They're not free kills. In one of your examples, the killer dedicated a perk slot that is designed to warn them of when survivors go into the basement. In the rest of your examples, the killer always hooked someone in the basement, which requires at least some effort.
The only free thing in this thread is the free basement escapes you're demanding, because you expect to corner yourself and still be exempt from any real consequences.

That's a separate issue, if we're thinking about the same thing. When that happens, you'll get a notification but see no comment.
@Peanits Whoops, I misread. You're right. Any update on that issue, though?

@Peanits said:
There is a bug with notifications currently. Notifications were made to work with the old text editor that we switched off of a little while ago. Basically you get a notification when someone puts @yourname in a message. The old text editor would do this automatically, but the new one does not do that yet.
If you want to make sure the person you're replying to gets a notification for the time being, you can @theirname just to be safe.
@Peanits That's not it at all. I reported a bug a while back wherein certain forumgoers' comments were invisible. I was told this would be passed on, but received no update since then.

That's laughable. So the "fix" for Survivors is they'll die after all the Gens are done, exits are opened, and the timer runs out with the Killer idle in the stairs.
And the fix for the other side if Sacrifices/Free Kills for Survivors attempting to grief.
Legit fairness.
Yes, actually, and I'll explain why. The killer is supposed to be dangerous. The basement is supposed to be dangerous. It makes no sense, from a design perspective, to have either of those be nullified just because there's half of the numbers role present.
Don't corner yourself and expect free handouts.

It's still a one way in and out. Trapper, Leatherface, Myers, Huntress, Billy, and Hag would all still be highly dangerous there with OHKO's, Traps, and Hatchet/M1 in the narrow passage. It's not safe, it just wouldn't allow people to grief.
Not many Survivors hid in a corner of the map to troll the Killer. Not many Killers body block the stairs for long periods of time. But if one got fixed, the other should as well.
Those two things have been fixed with the same solution. Now, survivors can no longer hold the game hostage not be held hostage themselves.
-
@VexTheHex said:

But it's still wrong and horrible game play. All trolls have to do is run the basement aura perk and there is one free salty kill right there. Catch two in there trying for a rescue and you just killed half the team.
Yeah, but how many times does that happen, in reality? Not nearly enough to justify butchering the basement.
-
There are people whose comments don't show up. I try to warn them on their profile when I catch them, but they usually don't believe me. I've reported this bug before, but I've yet to receive any feedback.

But in what world is body blocking someone looting the chest in the basement at the start of the game for a troll sacrifice ever a good addition to the game?
It needs fixed.
The basement is meant to be dangerous. Widening the stairs or any other such change would destroy that identity. For now, if people are holding the game hostage, you can report them. There's no need to butcher the game just for those edge cases.
-
The Collapse will stop hostage situations. Problem fixed.

What political ideology? Casual and communistic are not in any way strictly 'political; terms, and in the case of casual not at all. Why don't you have anything to say about the poster quoted who stated that people who don't play as they do are actually terrible human beings? You have a problem with one word that can also be used in a political context, but you're okay with 'all these people who play a game in a way i dont are bad human beings?'
Where are your priorities?
Here's why I'm addressing you, and not the other guy. You made good points, with the exception of what amounts to "communism is ruining gaming". Now, I happen to agree with you on those good points, but this one absurd notion makes you lose credibility, and by association, it makes all those who agree with your good points lose credibility.
I'd rather not have good points be ignored just because someone whom I happen to agree with also made some ridiculous statements. Yes, association is a fallacy, but it is one that is often used to dismiss criticism, and I'd rather avoid that if at all possible.
So, not just for your own sake, but for the sake of everyone who makes good points, don't bring communism into this.

I won't take too much time addressing this because most anything I say will come out as entitled or arrogant. Yes, although I'm American and I'm well aware the world is much bigger than "us". However, my ignorance leads me to believe that the U.S. has the largest market share for DBD, as well as the company being based in Canada...seems strange to hold an event happening in Canada tailored for Europe.
It's just my opinion, and not of much consequence either way.
Since you guys already get all the events and whatnot, it seems only fair that we at least get something, even if it's as minor as developer streams.

This whole post reeks of a disgusting degree of casualness and nicely highlights the mindset of so many Survivor players. You even think it makes you a bad person if you don't sacrifice for others. Its so communistic that it's no wonder survivors believe any Killer who tries to win is just a horrible person. This game is just a lost cause, precisely because of people like you who want to be entertained at someone else's expense.
So yeah, Killers aren't destroying the game. casual, carebear, play for lulz no-skill survivors are.
Tip: If you want to be taken seriously, don't bring political ideologies into opinions on playstyles.

Was this by design to avoid the greatest possible participation? It's a Thursday...most people in the Americas work or go to school at these times. MAYBE on a weekend this makes sense, or is at least workable.
Less than one total hour of Q.A. and most people couldn't partake. The ONLY upside to watching it latter is watching it at 2x speed and cutting the time in half.
You know there's a whole other planet, right? It's a good time for us in Europe.

That fixed it. Thank you.

That's not how dedicated servers work. Sounds like an issue with the servers and/or the netcode. A player's lag should only affect that player and that player alone.
-
So, @xChrisx, you have 4 minutes to rescue someone, if they need rescuing. That's the same amount of time it takes a survivor to bleed out, and twice the amount of time it takes a survivor to die on the hook. If you only have 2 minutes, then there's nobody who needs rescuing, and you just need to leave.
-
What is the slowdown when someone is hooked or dying? 25%? 50%? Those 2 minutes are only if nobody is dying or hooked, and if nobody is dying or hooked, you probably don't need to rescue anyone.

@Orion they nailed Legion tbh, he's pretty decent now, he can definitely dominate if you're skilled with him.
I haven't had the energy to play PTB due to being sick, but I hope you're right. I'm still pissed that Deep Wound is a non-threat, though.
-
@Guertena said:
Of course, two broken killers that down all survivors on the first 2 minutes of the game. And they nerfed Legion and Pig (?)
If the survivors all get downed within 2 minutes, the problem isn't the killer.
-
I hope every single person who does this gets banned. It'd make my survivor queues a lot shorter.
-
No lie, Freddy is being redesigned from scratch. This means new interactions, new mechanics, new everything, which takes longer to do than adjusting existing stuff (as was the case with the Legion).
-
You can do something yourself. Break the totems.
-
It's supposed to get survivors to do something other than generators for short periods of time. It's not supposed to be dangerous in any way. It's one of those powers that's designed to be mildly annoying, without any real threat.
-
Windows are gaping holes in walls. They're not magic shields. As for pallets, two events (stun and hit, in this case) can occur simultaneously.

It sucks so much for us aussies. We have such a great DBD community built, especially on twitch :(
The server locations aren't final. I wouldn't worry too much, but you should make sure the devs know about this. Make a thread in the PTB feedback section or something.

What do you mean "aren't getting dedicated servers" it is not something you get it is the way the games are hosted. If your internet is bad and you play killer all the time (which is what I assume you means by not getting dedicated servers) then you are lagging out every survivor that gets into your lobby. How is it fair that one side has to deal with ######### games because you have ######### internet. Dedicated servers will make the game better after they have settled because there will be no more "killer hit when they shouldn't have because they are hosting" no more "rubberbanding survivors because their connection to the killer is spicier than someone else's" and no more lag switchers.
@Black_Fence Some people in Australia are worried because there is no dedicated server in their region (yet). They usually get shafted when it comes to dedicated servers, so I understand their fear, but the devs have already said the current server locations are not final.

@ninjamediness64 said:
It just seems mutually beneficial for both sides to make use of the offering. I guess my bigger gripe is with tunneling in general, but that’s a whole other issue.
I've never seen a single trial in the history of DbD where the survivors took the initiative to farm with the killer. In those that the killer indicated they wanted to farm, half the time survivors just gen rushed and left the killer with few - if any - points. This is because survivors control the pace of the trial, even if some people want to pretend otherwise.
Nobody is entitled to anything just because they put up a BPS.
-
Define "tunneling".

Don't patronise me with this sky is falling bullshit, you know this isn't a made up issue. We know the game will be in an unplayable state for Australia, so once this ######### happens I'm not going to sit on forums for a game I can't play to beg the devs to not be cheap and lump half the world on one server.
I'm not suggesting you beg, I'm suggesting you wait until you see how things turn out before demanding a refund. What's the worst that can happen? If you're right, you order a refund, which you were going to do anyway. If you're wrong, you get to keep playing, which is better than the alternative.
-
@anarchy753 said:
Yeah, cool, let's wait for them to kill off the Oceanic region, THEN realise they screwed up, then cross our fingers and hope enough people come back when they eventually add one 3 years from now, sounds great.
They already have the user data. If the data shows Oceania has enough players to justify putting in a dedicated server, they'll put in a dedicated server. If not, they won't.
You can demand a refund at any time without any worries, but once you get it, you'll have your progress wiped. Is it really so difficult to wait instead of claiming the sky is falling?
-
South America sits plainly in the southern hemisphere, and they have servers. The current server list is also not final; they've already said this is just a trial run and they will buy more servers according to demand. The sky is not falling.
-
If survivors feed, sure. Which they do, often.

Bans escalate. It's also possible that they were banned for multiple things at once, which would naturally lead to a greater ban.

Usually when I report bugs, I do it via a support ticket instead of forum (if it's an exploit for example, I want as few people knowing about it as possible).
In regards to that, I've made reports about various sound bugs, but I'm pretty sure they just get ignored.
Is there an actual support ticket category specifically for bug reports?

Again, did anyone actually report it?
