The current iteration is only there to test server load. No more, no less.

It's possible you will be banned. EAC doesn't actively scan for it, but if and when they decide to, there's no going back.

Mettle of Mom is a bullshit perk but it's kind of similar to Spirit Fury - rewards you substantially for just playing the game normally.
Both perks need to be altered to make the conditions something that isn't just playing the game normally. I'd also like to see some kind of indication that the perk is on the table beforehand (Spirit Fury is another perk that gets hurt with SWF and solo survivors should get the same heads-up that the perk is in play).
Spirit Fury is not equivalent to MoM. Spirit Fury requires that the killer be stunned to work. If you use MoM, you still get the on-hit Sprint Burst and the killer still gets the wipe animation, meaning you get all the benefit and the killer gets all the drawback. For Spirit Fury to be equivalent to MoM, it would need to ignore the stun altogether.
-
Let me stay at the ranks the game is balanced for. I don't mind.
-
Sub-par, like everything else about her.
-
Your math isn't right. Using those two perks it's ~0,783 seconds (0,9/1,15) for the medium vault and ~0,435 seconds (0,5/1,15) for the fast vault. A 15% increase in speed is not the same thing as a 15% reduction in time spent.

Since the thread was about "Looping needs to go" and pallets being potential loops I recognized this as "pallets need to go" and if pallets go, Killers need to be slower which is like I said, more boring than anything else.
No, not really. The problem isn't looping per se, it's why looping works in the first place. Looping works primarily due to three things: different hitboxes, different accelerations, different speed reductions while turning.
Survivors are smaller than killers, accelerate more quickly than killers (relative to their top speed), and can turn on a dime without losing much speed.
Killers are bigger, accelerate more slowly (relative to their top speed), and slow down considerably when turning.
You wouldn't need to tweak that many loops if you just got rid of these three things.

It might be boring. You could still adjust those loops to be able to mindgame on them. But removing pallets would force the devs to make Killers slower which would be even more boring than running in circles.
Nobody mentioned wanting to remove pallets, so I don't know why you're bringing that up.

Except most loops aren't circles. They are tiles with LOS breakers that grant the ability to mindgame. Its how some players are better than others.
Maybe it's just my survivors who mostly run to loops where mindgaming is not possible, either due to a lack of LoS breakers or the fact that the loops are so long, it's not possible to do anything except follow them in a circle.
But hey, I'm glad to hear you have survivors who run to loops where you have the opportunity to gain the upper hand.

I don't have a problem with looping when playing Killer. I know how to anti loop and how to force pallets down earlier. And I bet every Killer can confirm that running in circles is more fun than just running around and finding no one.
And also, actual loops where there are no LoS blockers aren't that hard loops either. It's usually a pallet which is gone in a few seconds.
I didn't say anything about how difficult it is to counter looping. I just think it's boring being on a hamster wheel. I play both sides.
-
@ScottJund said:
I don't understand why killers hate looping. Its like the only time when mindgaming can actually happen. Searching for hiding survivors is the epitome of boredom.
Some people don't like running in circles all day and pretend mindgames are happening.
-
@MrDardon said:
Looping is just the fact that you love chases, mindgame and outplay your opponent.
Stealthing is the fact that you love... stealth I guess, you enjoy hiding and not being found. I love chasing and mindgame but I still find it satisfying when I can stealth around someone.
Looping does not involve mindgames. Can't mindgame if all you're doing is running in circles.
Stealth is also not just "hiding". You need to juke, break LoS, plan ahead, do a bunch of crap.

@GrootDude said:
@Orion I’ve also stealthed plenty of doctors. I think a good mix of both is better than just one of them.
I find looping boring, so I purposefully avoid it.
-
@GrootDude said:
@Orion I take spine chill so I can plan ahead but stealth isn’t my go to strategy.
It is mine, though. In the PTB I stealthed a Doctor (yup, you read that right) right until the end. He got a single hook on me (Devour Hope, even I take a hit every now and then), and then I let myself die to the Collapse (because I wanted to see it).
If you strategize properly, it works a lot better than looping. Trust me.
-
@GrootDude said:
@Orion this juke probably wouldn’t work if you were wounded since you still have blood unless you bring no mither.
Of course not. That's why I always bring Premonition, so I can get an idea of where the killer is coming from and prepare accordingly. It's particularly helpful against the Wraith, which this killer was. Never even got a hit.
-
@NuclearBurrito said:
Yeah losing a Killer who is breaking a pallet IS an example of an alternative to looping.
And it's so ######### easy, it's laughable. You could even hide in a locker during that time, because of how loud the breaking sound is. I would know, since I've done it before.
-
@LCGaster said:
How can you remove looping? You can't control what players do.
But you can take away the reason it works. Shrink killer hitboxes so they're the same size as survivors', don't slow down killers when they turn, and increase killers' acceleration so they reach top speed at the same time as survivors.
-
@Judith said:
Are you sure? Plenty of times I lost a survivor after breaking a pallet. Doubt I am in minority. And even if you can't escape you can buy time for others to do gens. If you are running in the open jukes can only help you so far. Pallets give survivors some chance to survive.
If you lost a survivor after breaking a pallet, then it's because that survivor stopped looping and juked you. Looping, by definition, is just wasting as much of the killer's time as possible, with no intention of actually winning the chase.
-
@Judith said:
Ok but what is the alternative? How can survivors survive without loops?
No survivor has ever won a chase by looping. Looping simply delays losing a chase.
-
It's 2 minutes now, which seems to be the sweet spot.

Just go to the Betas tab again and switch back to "None".

I'll shine some light on this, moderators have 3 reactions instead of 2 reactions like us. Whenever a mod thinks you're a good, leading example for the community AND you're consistent then they will give you a promote reaction.
If you want Orion, I can contact Luzi via PM and ask.
Wait, so do you know for sure or not? The second paragraph makes it sound like you're not sure.

@Orion While it does seem fair, it could still be changed to when the final gen is done and kept fair simply by upping the time that the EGC is active, say to 4 minutes? As it stands 3 minutes from gate open is alredy alot of time, which is fine, and in the current game state it doesnt take too long to open gates, I would go so far as to argue that 3 minutes could be fine starting by gen finish. But to my point, EGC is to stop survivors from lurking about the match once gtes are open, but the sooner the EGC begins then theoreticlly the sooner survivors would leave.
The problem is that survivors can't leave after the last generator is powered. They still have to open at least one exit. That's why the timer doesn't start sooner. I think as it is now on the PTB is perfect: not too short, not too long, and activates when the survivors actually have the option to leave.
-
As it is now. It feels fair, at least.

Thats freaking stupid, the collapse will make hostage situations even worse, a killer can now bodyblock a basement with 2 players and wait until the timer of the end game collapse ends so that he gets those BP
Taking the game hostage means there's no way for the trial to end. If the trial can end, it's not taking the game hostage.
You can use perks to mitigate the danger of purposefully cornering yourself, but the best perk is just thinking ahead.
-
2 minutes is fine. The idea is to push survivors out of the gates instead of wasting the killer's time.

Probably a bug. As I understand it, Exposed is only supposed to work with M1 attacks.

Don't you ever get tired of being wrong? Your killer sided bias is disgusting, you need to play both sides to have a valid opinion.

dont know her well but doesnt trap s timer start immediately?
If only. It starts when a generator is powered while the trap has been placed on the survivor. She's one of those killers whose power depends on the survivors.

@TheShape78 said:
This is very interesting. One thing I've always wondered is where do the survivors go to when they escape through the gate? Do they go back to the real world, or do they just find themselves forever trapped within this nightmarish world, just they're safe for the time being? Another question, what lies beyond those gates?
When survivors escape, they go back to the campfire. That's what lies beyond the gates.
-
No. Killer powers don't work with Exposed.

Excuse me if I believe getting yourself cornered should have some consequences.
-
@brokedownpalace said:
It's pretty wild to me that people are defending this. Pure bias. I guarantee this strategy will increase when the EGC goes live. Eventually the devs will address it somehow.
There are ways to avoid this, like not getting yourself cornered.

@Saint_Ukraine said:
I don't know if this will be addressed by the devs; but at the moment, I'm certain that it'll stay as is. Sorry.
It's already been addressed. Collapse will kill the survivors so they're no longer being held hostage.

It helped as it will not be never ending. But in what world is getting to sit in the basement for the rest of the match cause you literally have no options but to idle or DC in any shape, ways, or form good for the game?
Ignoring BT or Toxic Survivors you just really want to see die. Can't you understand how the ability to shut down a player's ability to perform ANYTHING else for an entire match by standing still isn't a good thing? Killer unless they get stuck in the scenery never are in the situation they literally can't do anything at all.
I'd easily trade insta heals for no more stair case body block. Hell even throw in a Adrenaline nerf cause I know that grinds many Killer main's gears!
It's only bannable because it is holding the game hostage. It will no longer be holding the game hostage since the game will end. "Not fun" is not an argument for changing the game's balance.

@VexTheHex said:

The point still stand the Killer can and still can interact and have a outcome. A Survivor body blocked in the stairs has no options anymore and can't do anything. That is flawed game play. As much as you want to argue you can simply never be near or hooked in the basement, one could easily point to Whisperers for the other issue. (Spies is still a hot mess right?)
Both needed fixed. One has, one hasn't.
But the killer can't interact with what he can't find.
I was hoping you'd mention Whispers. You can use Premonition, Spine Chill, Distortion (in case of Territorial Imperative), Alert, and probably more perks I'm not even remembering to keep an eye on the killer's location and avoid being cornered in the basement.
Collapse fixes both situations.
-
@VexTheHex said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/443204#Comment_443204
No it's worse. Killers could always find, move, and attack. A Survivor in the basement is literally stuck. They have NO OPTIONS if the Killer choose to idle there. Despite the end game Survivors holding the game hostage situation... the Killer ALWAYS had potential to end the match. A Survivor being body blocked for the match is worse as they have no input for the match to end.
They fixed one. Fix the other.
Any survivor who wants to remain undetected will remain undetected. The killer cannot find a survivor in a large map with tons of LoS blockers.
Both are being fixed with Collapse.
-
@VexTheHex said:

How is it at all fair or thrilling game play for someone to literally be body blocked for the match? Again people crouch in corners to make a Killer salty with no gain to themselves. People will also use the new end game to make Survivors salty as well.
It's wrong and needs addressed. Make a basement hatch that shoots you right outside the building but damages you in the Injured state. There's possible fixes.
Premonition, Spine Chill, terror radius. Don't corner yourself.

you’re statement is absolutely invalid. collapse won’t stop the basement hostage situation at all if generators still have to be completed. stop posting killer sided bait.
Holding the game hostage means there's no way for the round to end unless someone disconnects. Collapse will prevent that, since if even three survivors are trapped in the basement, there's one that will be able to repair the generators and trigger the Collapse.
Just because you don't like the truth doesn't make it bait.
