Remember that kill ratio was with them factoring out matches with disconnects which are often 4Ks as well. So the rate would be even higher. No telling if matches with KOBE were also excluded or not which would boost it even more.
-
Is "Old Jonah" really a good thing though? He seemed to have flopped the hardest of the new Survivors. Sometimes I forget he exists cause he simply ain't in matches. Oh, it seems you said that in a negative wave. Shocking, I see many people lusting over the new guy.
Chapter has promise though.
-
Always has been. They aren't even happy to just keep it here either. Any new asymmetrical game forum gets filled with DBD fanboys attacking and ridiculing everything like it's a DBD post chat lobby. It's quite pitiful the community has been so vile for so long.
That being said, just move on from post game chat that turn sour cause there's no use to sticking around. I'll typically say nothing or a quick GG with some compliment or sharing of something funny in the match to test the waters. It's a toss up whether other people get salty or actually respond like reasonable adults. It does make the more chill or supportive post game chats really special between players.

Buying anything more than tier 1 in the shrine is a pretty big ripoff and I have no idea why the prices escalate the way they do. My condolences. But hey, at least you managed to avoid owning a character you don't like!
True, but I probably would of rather got Shadow Step if I noted how big the cost was going to be, At least it's less expected than Circle of Healing which 98% of the Boons seem to be.
While I still hate her, she is getting that cute outfit for Christmas.
-
Sorry but Set A actually had a strong theme and details in the outfits. Set B was just novelty mall Christmas at best.
Adam and Hillbilly's are by far the weakest. Dress Meg A is more unique than another sporty Meg B. Trickster A strikes more as a Christmas concert outfit while Trickster B is more like mall promo picture. Kate's is a toss up for me. Mikaela and David's are elegant and fitting for the characters. Dredge's is top tier. Yun-Gin's was nice but nothing super note worthy to cause people to lash out and attack fans of the other characters like they did.
Even if I had the choice to swap Kates or switch someone out for Yun-Gin, I wouldn't cause Set A looks like a cohesive set of well designed skins. Taking any of them out (like the Yun-Gin fans have screamed for) wouldn't be cool in the slightest.
@Laluzi said:
I wish they'd let us vote for outfits individually instead of putting them in sets. Meg and Trickster didn't need the love, Yun-Jin/Adam/Dredge/Billy did.
Meg and Trickster were in both sets, so they'd get a skin no matter which side won. There has to be some popular (marketing/skin consumption) characters to make the set worth making. They could of done Jeff, Adam, Twins, Ace, Haddie, and Hag on one set which would sell less than a single Feng skin. We were lucky Feng wasn't in both sets to be honest! And we're lucky we got a lot of women and gay males in the community or every event would just be the female cast getting new sexy outfits as well.
I'd rather get a good looking skin for Trickster (tho I'm bias) than 6 hideous and uninspired skins for unpopular characters.
-
Nah, it's the game's fault for not having a real back up plan for Survivors in a losing game to actually have. It just turns into someone has to die and the other has to hope for hatch which is poor design.
I been in matches as Killer where one tries to do gens and the other hides. I'll slug the one working and try to kill the other, but that just looks like me being an ass and slugging for the 4K when I intend to spare the one. If it happens on Swamp, good luck finding the hiding one.
And on the flipside I had a Jane recently try to get herself sacrificed so I had a chance at the hatch. Instead he refused to hook her. I got her up like twice and he went for me and downed me. Then he left me slugged till he found and downed/killed her. The game was cheeky and had hatch spawn near me as he approached. He casually walked on my slugged body and slammed the hatch closed. Would of been poetic if I wormed my way out but I got crushed instead rewarding him for being petty.
-
All the time. It can really spark conversation post game to which is fun, sometimes the Killer even chimes in about how sweet the gesture was to the the rescued person.
I also have heart and will sometimes spare Survivors who I see make big team play/self sacrifice stuff. This is a video game people, not competitive esports arena for 5k.
There was a time where I was on death hook and the other person hadn't been hooked once, and they kept pointing at me to go save their 3rd SWF member. I refused and they got salty as hell in post game. Turned out they had Rancor on them, but there was no way for me to know that. But typically I help out.
-
The fact so many people use to disconnect and now KOBE showcases the game isn't fun. It's addicting. But it's tilting and frustrating. The issue isn't the players, the issue is the game has rarely actually been fun. With the recent global Survivor nerfs and Killer buffs, one side is feeling the frustration more than the other currently.
The fault lies at the feet of the devs though, but they won't likely do anything for a long while now cause they successfully beat out the asymmetrical competitors that came out this year.
-
Entity forbid Survivors get bored of holding M1 and staring at a hook and actually do something fun for once.

Maybe against potato survivors, give me a ss of 6k+ hours team where you stomped with trickster, i really wanna see that
Exactly how many 6K hour SWF teams are you facing? Even the devs have came out and said SWF teams are a lot fewer and far between then any forum poster seems to understand. Even if I get stomped playing a what D? C? tier killer with nonmeta perks in a match... it wouldn't invalidate that most matches I'll stomp even as the D/C Tier killer with nonmeta perks.

I know pigs will fly before you do but I hope to see you make a similar post when someone rushes to the forums and complains about facing a strong “edge case” Nurse they just lost to.
Nah, they would have to post 4 Survivors with dumb meme builds like 4 No Mithers with Circle of Healing, Self Care, and Botany Knowledge against a meta Nurse to = this Trapper one. Nurse in general will just slaughter most teams without any care about what they brought if the Nurse has any experience. Trapper is already on the weak side and that build wasn't helping in this case. Then they just happened to go against hyper sweat team on top of that.
-
As a solo, I do hate this Killer. Part of it is that I didn't support the NFT nonsense and didn't buy or play this Killer making my counter play ability with him weak. Seems like any match against him as a solo is a landslide loss.
-
You were playing one of the weakest Killers that has pressure issues with only 1 perk to help with it... now imagine if you were playing Nurse? Or had better perks at least? Wouldn't Oni of ate those No Mithers up? In other words, you kind of walked straight into that one.

Old map without end game collapse and you ended up with Survivors who refused to leave. Those were horrible.
To be fair, sometimes Survivors couldn't find the exits either. One of my first times on Swamp I got hardcore loss and the Myers ended up escorting me to the exit cause he realized I was just lost as hell.
-
Remember when Swamp was up next for rework? Remember when Trickster couldn't get a map cause they were busy working on the rework?
Yes, I'm still salty both Hag and Trickster got hard shafted for years now.

Imagine calling it balance when Hag had a stun on her Teleport. I think Survivors are spoiled, the harder it gets for them, the more they complain. They complain because they can't go into the game anymore and bully the killer, make 1000 mistakes and still escape withe ease. You still escape with ease you just have to rush gens and its over, but you can't bully + escape + make mistakes anymore
Did I call it balanced? She was the weakest Killer back then and I tried to main her. She needed buffs. (though personally she needs a small tone down now mainly in terms of how powerful her proxy camp is)
But I actually played this game when it was hard to play Killer. It's so freaking easy now for most matches. I play Trickster, GF, and Twins. I still will win the majority as weaker Killers. Hell I've even taken off gen regression on some so it's riskier and I might get stomped and they got a shot. I'll lose some, yes. But I'm playing lower tier killers without meta perks and still perform better than people throwing fits on here.
-
For me it was Nancy and Feng in the past. Fengs were the ones that thought they were the best players but failed horribly and got people killed. Then they'd crouch spam the Killer and get spared cause horny Killers. Nancys were so bad they were actively killing the team with unsafe unhooks and no ability to hit skill checks... ever.
Now I play way less and only fear Mikaela. If she isn't booning a totem... she is searching for a totem to boon. Doesn't matter if that Gen is 95%. Doesn't matter 2 people are slugged and one is hooked. The boon has to be done.
-
Cause despite all the certain Killer mains on here claiming Killers needed buffed so that camping and tunneling would happen less were full of it. Even though many Killers needed bones thrown to them, buffing Killers across the board and nerfing survivors across the board has been and will continue to be a mistake. It just makes camping and tunneling stronger. It only made solo weaker. These were horrendous changes that should of drastically killed the game's population, but the player addiction and them throwing out some big licenses with some actual events has kept it afloat.
How in the world anyone could look at how Nurse, Spirit, and Blight were S tier years ago before all the changes and not think these Killers need some nerfs is pitiful. Cause guess what? These 3 can kill most lobbies easy without tunneling and camping. But why put the effort in when you can just tunnel and BM people out? Cause them to DC or suicide? Good now they don't count in the all important stats.
-
@DemonDaddy said:
Solo is almost at the point of truly being able to play solo. Aside from unhooking multiple times and communication, there is very little that makes solo weaker than swf.
The only reason I find solo survivor less enjoyable is that the devs continue to make it easier.
Sometimes finding the Killer main pretending to be a solo Survivor player is easier than finding Waldo.
-
That's cause all (bad) Killers just camp and tunnel now. It's not just a Bubba way of life.
-
This needed fixing to be fair. They do need to make Survivor not a tedious and horrendous experience most of the time though to. But right now they are pretty dead set in dumping in Killer buffs and Survivor nerfs in an attempt to make sure all the other asymmetrical games die off cause they are keeping their killer fanbase overjoyed giving them probably 90% kill rates when DC's and suicides are factored in.
This flashlight thing was rare as hell, but it needed to go.
-
I played back when Hag had a stun on her teleport. The Killer mains of this year are so spoiled it's hilarious. If you're not 4K'ing most of your matches with ease, you're just not playing right or need more practice. Imagine thinking Killer is weak in 2022.
-
@NoOneKnowsNova said:
What's with people think that this game is dying? ;-;
And it seems like you are overreacting to this a lot.
Won't lie, I wouldn't mind it dying off a bit so other asymmetrical games have a better shot. Some of the recent ones have a solid base for a game compared to this one (but they certainly need polishing) but get player starved quickly as DBD throws out some licenses and blood point events to starve the other game's player base before it can grow. First Halloween event that actually feels a little like an event and it only happened cause they want to make sure Evil Dead, Ghostbusters, Propnight, VHS, and any others popping up die. And weirdly the DBD fanbase celebrates their deaths when their existence in the only reason DBD actually did a few things this year instead of coasting off licenses for their declining player base.
-
But the Top 1% of Survivors that are competitive SWF squads exist, so clearly Survivors need more global nerfs and Killers need more buffs. Certain Killer main forum posters on here always face that 1% of the player base constantly and never have any shot at winning. It's so unfair to them and the game will only be balanced when they 4K that 1% consistently.

Okay why is camping and tunneling an easy win? What about it makes the match so easy for the killer compared to 2 hooking everyone
Cause it's skill less? You don't got to chase. You don't got to find anyone. You simply bank on the other side wanting to enjoy the match instead of holding M1 or staring at the screen while their hook timer progresses. I got Meg on a hook. I stare. Wait for Claudette to come unhook, smack her. She unhooks. I down Claudette. Hook her. Now I stare at Claudette and wait for Dwight. Or I play slightly more mobile and slap Meg on unhook to proc Endurance. Then follow and redown. Or I follow and wait out BT timer. If I was smart, I'd have hooked her in a dead zone or spot they used the pallets. There's no escape. (or play Nurse and ignore all that anyways) (or play Spirit and Blight that could probably down both the unhooker and hooked with their speed)

Let me ask you this. Why do killers camp and tunnel? Why is it especially common in competitive play?
Cause it's easy wins. No amount of mental gymnastics will cover for these types of players anymore.
It was cause of Self Care!
It was cause of instant BNPs completing gens!
It was cause of instant heals!
It was cause of Door opening times!
It was cause of hatch!
It was cause of flshlights!
It was cause of DS!
It was cause of keys!
It was cause of Dead Hard!
It was cause of gen times!
It was cause of CoH!
It was cause of MoM!
It was cause of old Sabotage!
It was cause of infinites!
All these... and more nerfed. Some very much needed to be so.
But the point isn't those things. Cause there will always be a new one Campers attach to being the whole reason they camp. The point is that camping is an easy way for bad Killers to win matches they shouldn't of from betting on Survivors wanting to have "fun" over winning. And as all these things changed and got nerfed, the excuses just piggy back onto something else, but the truth of the matter is... cause the Killer is bad or toxic at this point in 95% of the scenarios it happens.
A Nurse will camp just as much as a Trickster. All the proof you'd need.
-
I mean I play a lot less than I use to, but I haven't seen this man in awhile. It's to the point I don't recall loving or hating going against him. My aim was never amazing with him, so I didn't play him often. I feel his low popularity, low skin sales, and Zarina likely not fairing too well compared to other female survivor's popularity and profit makes his chapter one they don't really care too much on anymore.

You can't last long enough in chase for another survivor to get the unhook? I mean at that point you kind of deserve to lose. With current reassurance you already just chase the reassurance user. The problem is it's a stop gap in killer snowball potential because like it or not sometimes camping is the right play. I dont like that it's THE play the majority of the time, but having a perk that totally shuts it down and ontop of that can be used in niche situations to rush out gens with no punishment for survivors, say for example doing the gen and then using it to pause the hook timer just seconds away from hitting the second stage so the killer cant punish you for greed is also not okay. Taking away killers options full stop without understanding why it's a good option is a bad idea. If behavior and the player base at large want to normalize killers snowball potential then fine. But don't be surprised if killers either have to be sped up more or gens are slowed even more, because just 2 hooking every survivor in current dbd doesn't cut it. At least for games where both sides are equal.
Killers already got buffed across the board and Survivors were nerfed across the board. DH (survivor's main chase perk) was changed and Killers were buffed in general in all chases with gen times also being increased on top of that. I fail to see how Killers would require even more M1 time from Survivors especially with Blight, Nurse, and Spirit being S tier Killer before these sweeping nerfs and buffs. You'd have to literally gut those 3 before any more sweeping Survivor nerfs/Killer buffs.

Unfortunately a true statement. Also unfortunately a way to combat another game flaw, the survivors can do their own objective too fast and the killer can't do theirs as fast. CMWinter also talks about it from time to time but if I see more than 2 toolboxes,I don't care what's gonna happen, someone's gonna get tunneled out. That's the only reasonable way to win against multiple toolboxes with no doubt at least 2 having a BNP. Simply put, survivors want killers to play the 12 hook game but that's unreasonable and literally is setting you up for failure because the gens will fly while you're trying to make sure everyone's on death hook so no one can cry out tunneling or whatever.
You can call camping/tunneling a game flaw,I call it doing my objective fast. Same as survivors call genrushing doing their objective effectively/fast. So if one goes, the other does as well.
A large difference is Survivors cannot take the Killer out of the match to force him/her to do nothing. Killers can always still chase, roam, and injure. Sitting on a hook with a Killer roaming around the corner to put you back up or keep you on there is such a pile of steaming poo of game design. You're playing bench warmer in a video game as basically just a progress bar for everyone else in the match indicating when the Killer has finished and will now move onto the next progress bar... I mean victim.
-
I don't like them in terms of point value. Both sides do a whole lot of nothing then someone or everyone instantly die. (or nobody, even less excitement) It's a whole lot of nothing going on and it shows on the score screen.
-
@woodenEnthusiasm said:

Okay then there is no reason for the perk to last if the killer is further than 32 meters
That'd just shift it so that the Killer would camp, wait for the Reassurance Survivor to show up, and then chase them/down them when they go to pop it. They'd likely get a free hit when the person comes up to use it and then can just chase them/have Reassurance deactivate when they chase away rewarding the Killer for being scummy in a new way.
It's fine how it is. Otherwise what's the complaint? You have a Survivor sitting on a hook for longer than needed cause they could of unhooked them anyways.
Current system also deters Hags, Spirits, or Nurses who just sit outside the range and wait to rush back in. If the Survivors have noticed this, they can force the Killer to be drooling in the distance waiting a bit longer for the next down at the hook.
-

A survivor who is unhooking another survivor are 2 survivors not doing gens
You're ignoring that the person would of had to run over there to activate it then run back to their gen? And if they did so, why wouldn't they unhook the Survivor if the Killer isn't camping them? They're already there and 2 on gens is better than 1 on gens.
And if the Killer is camping. Deserved.
-
I think something people overlook is the only real meta perks that came out since David's was MOM on Ash and CoH on the witch. What do both of those characters have in common? They needed to sell the Survivors on their own. Pretty much all the other Survivors released D or F tier perks with maybe a few situational B tier perks here and there. I mean just compare the witch's boon totems to Yoichi's or Jonah's. It's laughable how far apart in power level these perks are.
Terrible perks for years. And people wondered why the meta was still OG perks.
-
I think people underestimate how worrisome the multiple role being understaffed really is. For every 4, you need 1. For every 1, you need 4. Guess which side needs to be more enticing and populated? We have recently hit the hill where it has flipped. Getting close to the top was a good thing, flipping to the other side is dangerous.
DBD does however have the coat tails of licenses to keep them floating and the long life time of the game as well. But how far it'll keep it going will be interesting to see if we don't get some large changes for the health of the game.
-
@PBsamichShoe said:
It's really only oppressive in 3 gen situations and if she decides to camp, but that can really be said about any killer honestly.
Hill tile gens are great against her and so are maps with multiple levels because if you can retreat to some distance above or below her crows when you expect them they can't get you. Although the fact that even if she misses and it passes within a certain distance of you she still gets killer instinct on you is kind bs imo
I stopped playing around her release, so I honestly just suck against her in general cause I never played her and rarely play against her. But I didn't know if she misses she still gets a Killer instinct alert. That seems a bit dumb and explains why she always seems to know which gens have people even if she missed her spam gen check crows.

Matches might be pairing people up with newer Survivors as the Survivor base has taken quite the hit going from always being the over populated side of the game by quite a margin to straight up being the underpopulated one. I think a lot of people who play solo are getting paired with newer (or really bad) Survivors to help fill matches for Killers making extremely lopsided matches in a current era where certain Killers are straight up busted and camping/tunneling is rampant. This also will tilt the solos and make them more likely to KOBE or DC adding to the problematic matches.
AKA Survivor side sucks atm.

Sadly this is from coming back from a long break from the game. I was interested in Wesker and had a decent time on the PTB. Live has been nonstop horrible matches. I had one match against OhTofu that was enjoyable. Besides that? Unbearable.
-
I think DH can stay nerfed. We just need some heavy handed nerfs to Killers like Nurse, Blight, and Spirit since they were doing just fine BEFORE the massive Survivor nerf patch.
And of course, camping and tunneling need large base kit nerfs. Not band aid perks.
-
She's only gotten buffs for years, she'll do just fine being the easy to abuse hook trap machine that 99.99% of her players use her as still. MYC is still a thing.

I've only played that map like twice, once as both sides. Didn't learn it enough to really have any opinion on it. RPD was always a mess for both sides and maze like for people who don't know the franchise. And Haddonfield was always a headache for the majority of Killers and now it seems they mostly just flipped it to be the other side's issue. At least I don't think I ever survived as Survivor there. As Killer I have loss, but I pretty much had went to only goofy builds at that point like 4 Hex Trickster and no knives just seeing what'd happen.

Hag!?
Hag is 'A' tier, at best.
Spirit...I think people overvalue here too.
I played her way back when she had a stun on her teleports. She has ate buffets of buffs since then and is only under the radar cause most people hate the easy way of playing her (trap hooks/3gen, MYC proxy camp) or find her visual unappealing. Solos especially are at a huge disadvantage against her since they can't communicate where her traps are in relation to gens, loops, or hooks. They crouch when not needed and run when dangerous.
IW should of never been nerfed to buff Spirit back up. Her add ons could of at least used nerfed with this general buff to her.
-
Usually people help each other and typically I do to. I have been in some nasty ones like a match where I feel I did 95% of the work (gens, chases, and unhooks) to straight up get left by a 3 stack teabagging across the map that didn't even bother to check to see if I could be saved.
Still I have had matches where I died a horrible death to save someone. I've had a David who I saved literally trample my slugged body a couple times to his safety/escape while I'm left to bleed out awhile/end game collapse killed by a salty Trickster staring me down the entire time. Worth it.
I'm also bias and more likely to risk it all for Survivors I like more. Elodie, David, Jake, etc. I'll likely go down for cause I like them as characters and typically as players. The legion of Fengs, Neas, and Claudettes feel less worth it since they are a dime a dozen. Meanwhile Nancys and Mikaelas I'll straight up leave.

Try out VHS for awhile with its built in voice comms and see how often they're used if you queue solo. I'd rather the effort go to icons
True. Of the times you got someone yelling in voice the monster is on them, someone help them, etc. And the monster walks into the room with you. Like bruh not only were you wrong in being chased but you were so loud I couldn't hear the monster coming to me. It's happened many times and makes me worry every time I get a frequent talker in VHS.
-
Sex sells. It's why most of the cast looks like they can star as a model on the run way. It's why characters like Felix, Feng, Elodie, Kate, and David are popular outside of the game itself and get tons of fanart. Meanwhile Jeff and Jonah are left on the curbside both outside and inside. It's why certain characters get more skins. And if you have the successful presence both outside and inside (literally most of the female cast) you will get blessed with more skins.
Same applies for Killers. Spirit is super popular (which is red flag as she has school girl outfits) outside and inside the game so she gets blessed with skins quite often. Trickster isn't as popular inside (he is the weakest Killer stat wise as well, doesn't help him) but has massive popularity outside so he gets skins as well. Same could be applied to puke and bird women as I don't see them often in matches but they have decent enough popularity as Queens to get more skins released with more care than say Billy. Meanwhile who really cares about Hag or Twins? 3 people? Also Twins will forever be a mistake that they took the stance Victor is not part of the skins and is left untouched. One of their dumbest choices as it severely limits the potential of their skins and makes him clash if they do anything too fancy with her.
-
When I first started I hated Hillbilly. I couldn't play him at all and always got wrecked by them. I almost met a couple racist/super toxic ones along the way that soured my outlook on him while I was leveling Claudette. (I liked to play who I leveled back then)
Blight replaced him at my current era. Ever since he came out, I can not play him at all and get disoriented/annoyed with the bumping around. Meanwhile it seems like all of them that I face steam roll the match in seconds and it just isn't fun. Luckily most aren't toxic though like old school Billys as most of those people went to Bubba, Spirit, or Legion it seems.
Only thing I could give Billy back then and Blight now is that I can respect them more than I can and ever will respect Spirit. That's truly a low skilled easy mode character to abuse that is kept at that level to sell skins.
-

This.
Certain mains like Nurses and Spirits just like to pretend they are getting a masters in chemistry when in reality they are learning basic M2 and M1 clicking.
-
Hadn't played in months... came back for Wesker... played with dumb perk combos (all hexes... no not even DH or Ruin) on "bad" killers like Trickster and GF while playing nice and was scoring 2Ks.
So I'm not feeling that bad for a Nurse avatar player indicating they somehow can't win if they don't tunnel/camp.
First step I suggest is to not play this game like some high end competitive sport game and instead appreciate it as the horror Mario Party that it is. :3
-
They could steal pings and status icons from VHS. Would help.
Nerf tunneling and camping. Nerf gen regression perk stacking. And nerf Nurse, Blight, and Spirit who shouldn't be as strong as they are if they were S/A tiers before all these Survivor nerfs. Hag could probably be thrown on that pile to, but like she is almost as rare as Twins so I wouldn't really rally for that till people start abusing that unfun, miserable creation that has been left unchecked for so long simply cause people aren't interested in playing her.
