  • Not sure how anyone can look at sweeping Killer buffs across the board and Survivor nerfs across the board and really sit there and think "How'd things get worse?" for the weakest role (solo survivor) in the game. They basically super buffed tunneling and camping while making the M1 simulator side of Survivors even longer and more obnoxious with the regression/gen slowdown meta. And more perks that played into survivor/killer interaction were nerfed (DS and DH) to even further promote M1 and W... that's all you do.

They basically bowed down to the killer main mindset for a patch and gutted survivor side and buffed killer side. Some of the changes were needed or wouldn't be as bad on their own. But it was way too much at once. And how does anyone still excuse Blight, Nurse, and Spirit? These killers were doing swell before this patch, so why are they allowed to be so strong still?

I barely play now as I truly find VHS more engaging, but it clearly has it's own issues going on over there. The Wesker addition got me to come back. I didn't even get to play him though, Killer took too long to get matches and I had Weskers begging for longer matches cause they sat waiting for lobbies for 30 minutes. I had longer Q's as Killer on live as well... played Trickster and GF... didn't play slowdown perks... played nice... and still was scoring 2Ks not even going for Kills. Only when I did Twins did I fail and that was cause I don't know the Garden map at all, so I got loss in the building quite a few times. Not sure how all the Blights, Nurses, and Spirits on this board are still so bad that they lose more than they win. It's quite remarkable honestly. But alas, "skill" is only a Survivor issue on here and every Killer who loses a match was abused, neglected, and couldn't handle the mountain of stress that the Dev team has placed on them... please nerf Prove Thyself, Medkits, and the W key. Please and thank you, after those are taken care of we'll discuss nerfing Sprint Burst, Urban Evasion, and Ace... who should be as loud as Jane when injured cause it's not fair I couldn't hear him.

Also it's funny to see some of the circus shows the usual users on here put on to justify things. Whenever BBQ was questioned in power level, they always claimed they ONLY used it for the BPs. Guess what perk is still often used? BBQ. I thought the perk was fine after the locker aspect came into play, but it clearly wasn't used only for the BPs like so many high mobility killers try to pretend. Remember how IW was the answer to if you find Spirit overpowered? Now it's dumpster tier and was evidently too strong against the Killer bouncing around S and A tier. Cause got to keep the mostly naked school girl over tuned to promote skin sells to... people who like that type of motif.

And poor Calm Spirit. The 5 people who used it to counter Doctor were clearly using a secretly overpowered and busted meta.

So like for the longest, the only good Survivor perks that came out were Circle of Healing and MOM. Which were both attached to paragraphs for Survivor only. Everyone else released with D tier perks, C at best. And people wonder why Survivors had a meta consisting of OG perks pretty much since the dawn of time. Circle Of Healing was the only one that really shook things up, and I say that despite saying Killers stomping the damn boon totem should of the destroyed the totem from the get go and never been tagged onto a perk.

DBD is at an interesting new domain as Killers are more played than Survivors. Despite how many are pushing for more sweeping Survivor nerfs and Killer buffs, I'd wager this actually should be quite alarming on the contrast. You need 4 Survivors for every Killer. A shortage of either shouldn't be celebrated, but a shortage of the mass side... could quickly sink the ship if the whole isn't plugged.

Oni is the best designed Killer.

These ones are typically fun to engage with but have aspects that can be frustrating like truck sized hit boxes, broken reveal mechanics, being unstoppable in the open or hallways, and nullifying windows/pallets with power.

Next up are one that I didn't feel too strong one way or another. Some are just so basic and some the performance varies so much.

Then we got a bunch of the scummy killers. Tunnel The Trap Player, Salty Facecamper, Puts The Actual Player To Sleep, Blonic The Tinkerhog, Make Solos Regret Playing, and Vomiting Simulator.

Lastly, we got the vile bottom of the barrel killers that should of been deleted 10 years ago. Wraith whether strong or weak, is easy mode to play and requires so little thought that it never feels good to be killed by one. Spirit is for those sweaty players who want to win 9.99/19 times while having to put in far less effort than other Killers. Hag always devolves into proxy camping the hook with traps around it, as a Old Hag main... I basically gave her up since even though I didn't play as so... I didn't want associated with those people. And Twins has some fun aspects being mainly kicking Victor's face in and squashing him underfoot... but sadly most game end up being a slug fiesta where you get downed upon being picked back up cause Victor or Char is camping your body. Fun...

This. Trickster just doesn't look like he belongs in the game. He isn't scary at all, just goofy looking.

Nemesis looks goofy as hell, like some sort of Saturday morning cartoon space villain stomping the ground as he floats about moving in slow motion. (while Bubba moves like Sonic while making baby steps)

Bird woman is goofy. Some long neck lady screeching like a bird while Naruto running at people.

Blight slamming his face into walls is a ridiculous and laughable power. How is that even fitting an alchemist?

Twins has Human Shrek giving out boob gremlins to kick.

Legion is a bunch of teens that get headaches after running for a few seconds.

    This game is goofy.

  • I don't agree with all the woe is me, a tortured killer main type juice most drink on here...

But I would like to see see those bones go crunch under the Killer's foot and be demolished. Let the Boons be strong effects, but let the Killers actually destroy the totem. And I mean this would also be a nice punch to the face of NOED, and I don't think anyone would mind that as well.

  • @ThatOneDemoPlayer said:

    They're both hot

Agreed, but only one of them causes people to stomp their feet around here and say he ruined the game cause "Oh no, he's hot!"

  • @Sonzaishinai said:

Ok for as much as i like Trickster.

You can't really deny that ink blades and claws that replace her severed hands isn't a little scary

Honesty I notice her red dress, pale skin/black hair, long legs, and her longer neck before I notice the arms. Her horror aspect to me is the background of her design while her being pretty and "longer than normal" is what is front and center.

  • @Beaburd said:

I like both of their art styles and designs a lot.

This thread is gonna be like watching mommy and daddy fighting for me isn't it?

    ---

I will say though, that Trickster ticks me off so badly just because his bouncing knives aren't base kit and he isn't balanced around that. Just imagine having a page of add-ons that alter bouncing knife effects. His power could actually start feeling trickster-y.

    @Kebek said:

Tbh I though that Trickster was pretty cool take on mad artist theme. The way his insanity was depicted pretty is disturbing imo.

I guess it's because trickster is more flashy. Artist is depicted as tragic character who lost everything with a lot of depression baked into her lore and design. Trickster's insanity is is covered by his flashy looks and behaviour so his horror isn't as obvious.

Also his still has all his limbs and isn't covered in black goo of unknown origin.

I actually like her, I do find her a bit boring and one note in design though with some wonky animations. But overall, I like her. I just knew the pretty lady killer wouldn't get nearly as much hate and blind rage as the pretty male killer. How dare a guy look good in my video game?!? But please, more Spirit school uniforms...

  • @Superyoshiegg said:

    The Artist:

    * Completely blackened irises and eyeballs (unnatural)

    * Black liquid dripping from her eyes, forehead and mouth (unnatural)

    * Dark mist dripping and emanating from her body (unnatural)

    * Freakishly long and disfigured forearms and hands, made completely out of ink (unnatural)

    The Trickster:

    * A bit of blood on his face and chest (the same as any Prestiged Survivor and Killer)

    * Yellow irises (most likely contacts as he had them pre Entity)

    * ???

    You can't compare them.

Ya, she has some black goop in places like some 12 year old's first spooky, scary monster character. She's a pretty lady in a red dress is 95% of her design and what you see chasing her. The elongated neck and black ink aspects are the other 5%. There is almost 0 character in her animations and personality to. She's kind of goofy looking and animated tbh.

  • Of course. Most of the guys cover the face or need to have their face covered. Oni could of been handsome till you see him without the mask, like please... never take it off and spare us your ogre face.

  • I didn't try playing her on the PTB since I didn't want to wait forever for a lobby. I only played against her and every single one of them struggled hardcore just like Trickster PTB. Not sure of her power level since PTB has no skill levels being matched, so I honestly don't know where she will fall.

  • @GannTM said:

Don’t talk bad about my lady.

Stop talking smack about my king!

I personally enjoy The Artist's addition, but I find it funny she isn't getting the flack Trickster STILL gets despite him having more going on in his design than she does.

"What were you expecting? If an absolutely broken and overpowered mechanic for survivor gets nerfed we OBVIOUSLY need a new possibly broken/overpowered mechanic!! Why are you always crying lmaooo?

Anyway I am definitely a killer main, and I am the most righteous killer main btw. I always play to make sure every survivor is having a happy fun fun time! All survivors love me! But I always win hehe I'm so good I want my games to be only top MMR. Camping and tunneling are BIG issues!!"

Fantastic arguing you got there wow.

My lord, you don't even know what the perks are. How ridiculous to claim they are on the power level of Key/Hatches.

  • Shame on Survivors for putting on a new perk that can be destroyed instead of rushing Gens. Don't they understand the Killer mains don't want them doing anything extra?!?

  • @[Deleted User] said:

The point of her power is to cripple survivors with sickness. That's a fun and enjoyable power...

For the Killer... somewhat. For the Survivors... not even a little bit. Trash design.

As a Killer main, I know you can't understand the idea that the Killer's ability removes Altruism from your points... is actually a really, really dumb idea.

  • It's better if people continue to not play her. Removing Healing, Altruism, and Stealth from the game play of Survivors has always been a trash tier design. Not sure what they were thinking with her and it was a blessing she was UP.

But yes, her puke is as reliable as breaking GF out of stealth.

  • @scenekiller said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2524771#Comment_2524771

Almost every killer does this anyway, I don't think much will change on that front

Some would go ahead and kill the 3rd player if they found the hatch since they could just rush to it and close it. Now there will be even more that refuse to kill the 3rd person till they have #4 downed as well.

  • Let's be real, this helped with the key issue.

But is also just boosted the slugging the 3rd and looking for the 4th strategy.

One obnoxious thing nerfed (Keys), one obnoxious thing buffed. (slugging for 4K)

  • The key change is the only change that really affects the fun factor so far.

The core game play has gotten stale and very frustrating for both sides. A small nerf to Spirit (while a lower tier Killer than her gets hit harder) and buffing Plague (who removes Healing, Altruism, and Stealth game play) are not exactly going to fix this game.

This game has been apart of my life for awhile now, but I am looking at VHS as a straight up evolution. Not that I'm ditching DBD entirely, but they got some core issues they likely will never address that drag the entire game down.

  • @Johnny_XMan said:

Lol I don’t think there is anything else to nerf.

They’ve already nerfed med kits and toolboxes before.

Maybe instead of nerfing they could focus on buffing useless items like the green key. Which for some reason exists in this game/

Don't forget people been lobbying for Survivor's W button to be nerfed as well. Don't be surprised if they think Green Key is broken to.

  • VHS still looks a lot better though, most of this update is band aids.

Spirit already has half her nerf dropped. Deathslinger is now getting nerfed heavier than her? Plague is good idea executed horribly, not sure why anyone would want a Killer that removes both Stealth and Healing/Altruism from the match to be made stronger. Plague is just a horrible design. Trapper got a small buff that could of been done ages ago.

Keys and hatch got nerfed, but it's rather small scale for how long it took for them to do it. If this was the idea, this could of been done back when Moris got their nerf. We were told it's cause they had something bigger planned and yet we got this simple change instead.

  • Don't worry though, they are taking out 1/2 of the Spirit nerfs though. Can't hurt the S tier waifu. >.>

  • Disappointed they listened to the hive mind and already took out Spirit nerfs. Just shows which side can throw temper tantrums and get their nerfs booted.

    Happy keys got severely nerfed.

  • I wanted Keys nerfed, but my goodness... you folks already grabbing the pitch forks for another item to be gutted already?!?!?

  • Brains over bias would lead this thread to favor the Trickster, but I see this is not the case. Trickster is a lot healthier, realistically faster, and he could easily lodge some knives into Clown's eyes before the Clown even gets to him since he has trained his aim since being a child. Even the Clown's trailer has his slowly stumbling around while coughing up a storm. There's no way the Clown could beat any of the other ranged Killers.

Clown could likely easily beat Pig and Legion though.

For those saying "BUT Clown is faster in-game." Well in that case both of them would win cause they could never damage each other. Their only weakness is flashlights and pallets which neither can even use. So it's a draw using in-game logic.

  • Trickster, Twins, or Blight really should adopt this map in their own style.

Trickster works well in the sense it could be repurposed into a building or even narrow alley way streets. His map potential has always been HUGE and even the devs said they might explore it. Nothing but silence though on that though since then.

The other two could work as well. Twins could be the cult's underground lair in some cave or catacombs that they were held in. And Blight could obviously be his lab.

  • The races between two Survivors trying to get to you first is always hilarious. Or the crouching Nea evading the Killer around some rocks till you realize the Killer's pink aura dancing around the hook and wonder what on earth that Nea is hiding from.

  • Oh cause what a shame the endless amount of salt and toxic threads are getting polluted with the FNAF stuff? You may of had a point if the forum isn't already a sewage pipe.

  • Darkness Among Us - Legion was the most half baked Killer idea. Teenagers running around getting energy drink highs and being annoying. The map and Jeff are good though, just wish Jeff wasn't so loud.

Nightmare on Elm Street - Old Freddy was a miserable, boring, no skill involved, and weak mess. Reworked Freddy was a super over loaded Killer that was still no skill involved. Also not sure how anyone can bash outfits of other characters when Freddy is wearing what he is wearing. Quentin was also a goblin addition for so long and took so long to fix.

Curtain Fall - Just a waste of the Clown theme. Could of been a lot more interesting.

Saw - Overall a uninteresting Killer and Survivor with a garbage map.

  • I feel this image represents the community more for this event.

    20210702234534_1.jpg

Players in a certain role are playing very selfish. I finished my crowns for Survivors and switched to Killers. I got Gen rushed in 1 match out of the eight I did. It was my first match of Killer and they straight up left each other on the hook to advance stages to pop the gens fast. Killer side has it so much easier in this event. Crowns aren't remotely difficult to get and Killers earn a lot more BPs.

  • He's super easy to use and stronger than people gave and give him credit for. I'd slap a nerf on some of his addons (make the yellow clapper the pink and remove the silent pink from existing, nerf or change the aura reading ones as well) and see if that helps calm him down against solos and the casual SWFs.

Not sure why you are onto Trickster though, his buffs haven't even came out and actually came with nerfs as well...

  • @GeneralV said:

I...feel sorry for you. This leaves very little room for enjoyment.

I'm not sure this game is really meant to be enjoyed. It's more of a addiction. When you actually sit and look at the gameplay of both sides and the mechanics... it's a lot of frustrations, bugs, and repetition. Everyone is living for the moment they down that toxic teabagger or save an ally from a close call... but it's mostly just toxic and boring stuff going on.

Which to be fair, my dislike for many of the ones I placed up there is based on player choice to abuse or use mechanics for easy wins or to "punish" or "block" someone in the match from playing. Both sides have a lot of ways to force boring or tedious game play onto the other.

  • There is a fair amount of praise and love of her in those dev messages in the load screens. I think she might be a golden child on their end. It could also explain why her original 100% stealth add on took so long to get toned down. Seriously that thing gave free grabs on gens and was more busted than IH.

  • Most of the cast can be frustrating.

Spirit - Usually super sweaty and toxic players using this easy 4K machine against solo and casual SWFs. You don't really feel like you have any choice in how you go down, she is in full control.

Wraith - His super lunge and super speed has made him very oppressive for solo and casual SWFs. I never thought he was as bad (still not strong, but not awful) as people claimed, so I feared his buffs would make him a major pain... he is. Most Freddy players using their easy mode machine seemed to have jumped onto the Wraith bandwagon.

Hag - I use to main her back in the old teleport stun days. Now she has eaten YEARS of buffs without really any nerfs to her. She is insanely strong and has huge snowball potential. Sadly I cannot stand playing her. Most Hags still use overpowered add-ons, perks, and strategies combined on her for easy games. Whenever I see a Hag placing her traps around a hook, I know it's time to bail on the match cause it's basically over.

Plague - Annoying sounds and noises. I don't enjoy hearing my character barf and cough over and over and over. I feel her lore, her model, and her theme are brilliant. Sadly I think her game play is pretty obnoxious on the Survivor side and pretty meh on her end.

Nurse - Bad Nurses and Good Nurses are boring to face. Either they don't even land a blink or they have everyone slugged at 4-5 gens. She is only fun to face when the Nurse is mediocre.

Blight - Basically a not as hard and not as overwhelming Nurse. Bad and good ones aren't enjoyable just the same. Tinkerer and Blight is really annoying. I dislike him overall, including his lackluster design. I actually hate playing him, might be my least favorite Killer to play actually.

Freddy - Thankfully that tiny nerf sent his legion of players elsewhere. His kit is overloaded. Some of the most toxic players in the last year were also Freddys from my experiences. I'm talking about the type to leave people to bleed out till the very last second then hook them. I mean it isn't that shocking the pedophile character attracts some odd ones.

Bubba - The King of Toxicity. Part of his issue is latency where he lands his OHKO on you when it looks like total and utter BS on your end. Then he face camps you. My hatred for him has decreased some, but I still usually expect a horrible match when I see him.

Susie - Now Legion isn't exactly my favorite to face and is probably on of the main flop designed killers to be released. But they are rare enough at this point that I don't actively hate them a lot, and I have actually faced some really cool Frank players over the years. Unfortunately, the same can not be said for Susie players. I think some of the most personal BM and flaming I have received has been from Susie players. I do not like her. (and find her over rated)

Doctor - Similar to Plague where I love the package that is Doctor, but his gameplay is pretty annoying... especially if you are unfortunate to face him on a small map or he's the player to set up a 3 gen from the start to drag the game on... and on... and on. He's fun to play though.

Pig - A killer designed to spread pressure on a caught Survivor with the bear trap to focus on other killers... to typically be played as a hardcore tunneler most of the time. And if she is failing, she can just pretend to be one of those "boop the snoot" Pigs that kills you anyways. Not sure why so many praise the booping when it's usually just used to get a free hit or down by the majority. I don't really find anything about her interesting and actually loss more interest in her once I looked into the actual character... who is pretty underwhelming.

  • Yep. With Freddy being dethroned as one of the easiest Killers to play for high reward by The Wraith, it's no shock the filth has been attracted to Bing Bong. You don't have to be remotely good to stomp most lobbies with him cause of his insane lunge and stealth.

Wraith, Freddy, and Bubba are pretty bottom of the barrel. Spirit takes a ounce more skill, so she is slightly less filled with toxicity but with a dash more sweaty salt.

  • I'm still finishing my Survivor crowns and from that side of the game... absolutely not. The sweat from the Killer side has been repulsive. I'm sure I'll get the sweat Survivors when I switch over though. There was one incredible Plague, she was awesome. A few cool ones besides her, but it's mostly been the sweats... the pure... disgusting... smelly... sweats.

  • Hmm. Victor is literally all the fun of playing Twins though, so I hope he is still playable. If he becomes AI only, I'll probably drop them from who I play.

  • @Itslat3ncy said:

I'm sorry, but I'm not bringing a cake until the sweat fest of tunneling and camping ends. This has been the worst event ever do to how people are playing, so I will reward them with what they deserve.

This. 4x Cakes burned, Killer burns Pudding. Killer camps and tunnels people out. The Survivors make almost nothing, Killer rolls in blood points. Only five Survivors done, it'll be nice to switch to Killer.

  • @BenihimeWrath said:

Honestly I've mostly played killer the 2 days the event has been active, so far literally every game has been an absolute waste of a cake for me. Gens done in 4 minutes, everyone out, routine as clockwork. Most abysmal experience I've ever had playing DBD. Most games I can't even fully stack BBQ before everyone is gone.

It's weird how when you're Survivor, you seem to mostly get the salty and tunnel happy sweat lords trying to 4K as soon as possible cause this game is totally some esports potential.

Then you switch to Killer and instead of getting these teams that are casual or noobs... you get the SWF team bringing their key and not caring to do anything besides the gens.

I remember during the one year's event hooks and gens where I'd face IH Huntress or Bubbas literally sitting on the event gen or face SWF squads sabotaging my event hooks. Community certainly has not changed.

  • I'm not into full fledge farming matches, but I must say I never wanted to watch the entity (or Nea, whichever she wants called) do horrid things to most of the Killers and Survivors I'm having the "fortune" of playing with.

Only positive is I'm getting the true horrid experience of the Survivors crowns done first. Then it will be easy, no effort of the century for the Killer ones since I won't even need to see a Survivor to get it. Lol.

  • Aww, this thread is already filled with "Why do I have to be a good or better person" responses.

It's won't hurt anyone to play nicer and have some empathy in your salty life... could do some good.

  • Trickster's Neon City Map. We were robbed.

Boardwalk Carnival would also be fun.

  • Went against a sweaty Nurse and a slugging Hag. (no, not slugging to be nice)

Also went against a Demo and Wraith who let everyone escape but didn't do anything either. Which I mean kind of wastes the cakes if everyone just gets gen time.

So I seem to be getting the 2 extremes. I kind of wish people would just throw bones to the other side and play more relaxed. But nah, the events always showcases why the community deserves the bug infested patches they get. :P

  • I love Oni and Trickster. Oni is their best work and Trickster can step on me. Though I made my only recent Trickster rage quit. I'm sorry Trickster. Y.Y

I can enjoy Ghostface, Trapper, Nemesis, PHead, and Huntress. (when I don't get hit around corners by 3 feet)

No strong feelings towards Demo, Myers, Clown, or Billy. (Myers was a tier higher till I remember how many times someone else fed him stalk and he shows up to one shot me. I use to hate Billy in the old days where he was meta... every game... Billy)

I dislike Twins, Doctor, Deathslinger, Legion, and Pigs typically. (I love stomping on Victor though, but most Twins players insert him inside your butt before pouncing)

I hate Nurse, Spirit, Hag, Bubba, Wraith, Freddy, Blight, and Plague. (I know Blight is a hot take, but he is very oppressive on some maps with his meta build. I got him on Shelter Woods 3x in one night, that map is made for him to ROFL stomp)

  • At least the match lasted to the end.

Do you have the res chapter? Counter force and small game is a fun side objective build I can personally recommend for hex killer builds and it’s bringing strength back the no no NOED army. Just saying:p

I should buy it, sadly though I wasn't really wanting to play Nemesis (but would be highly tempted to) and delete console players from matches so was holding off till he didn't murder matches with his ability to DC people. lol

The map was Midwich, so I knew the other 3 would be highly unlikely to find it and then someone would rush a dumb save and he'd snowball. After the BPS match, I really didn't want someone to snowball and get kills they shouldn't of. I do understand the Survivor side though as saving, healing, and interacting with the Killer gets you blood points, but i's aggravating to see the match snowball to a loss simply cause the Killer decided to sit on someone. Even worse when it's a slug since it's out of spite more than anything at that point.

  • @Starr43 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/261629/i-forgot-not-to-use-bps-as-survivor

If it makes you feel any better I still remember a match from maybe 3 years ago.. OG doctor slugged everyone, no one had Unbreakable and he held up his treatment mode to tier up madness for all the slugs for the full 4 minutes until everyone bled out. Lol but hey maybe it made them feel better, I moved on with ptsd but still come across so many players I love facing or playing with in this community. Brush it off and pay it forward with kindness.. spread some good karma if you feel up to up.. or do what the doc did to me and the randoms lol. The choice is all yours, that’s the beauty of it I suppose.

Haha, too bad it's most matches you encounter these type of players. Just got NOED face camped against a first time Blight or someone who REALLY shouldn't be red/purple ranks. Killed myself cause obviously someone would go for the save and the players could wind up with a 4K after not getting a single hook all match. Solo survivor keeps getting rougher.

  • Overtuned for how easy he is to play and get value out of. Nerfing a few of his addons would be the best step since some of them really push him into frustrating territory like the wall hacks and clappers. The Yellow clapper's effects should be on the Pink one at least, Silent Bell shouldn't be a thing as it would be like Nurse without her shrieks or Oni without his battle roar.

  • I love stomping Victor's face. Too bad most Twins players put Victor inside your booty before pouncing for 100% hit rate.

1 2 3 4 … 19
