I think it helps if you don't crutch yourself on S tier Killers that spoil people into thinking they should 4K almost every match cause Spirit, Blight, or Nurse are broken especially with certain perks. I've always played Killers that were either considered weak or unpopular. I mained Hag back when she had a stun on her teleports and still played her through out her YEARS OF BUFFS. And it took so long for people to realize how oppressive and strong she could be... I already knew.
I played Wraith when I didn't really want to think hard. I knew he wasn't the best, but he was super easy to use and get free hits. I was one of the first to be like "Err, we really want to keep buffing him?" cause I knew he'd become a problem. Not cause he is some super over busted in power Killer, but he is the easiest Killer outperforming a chunk of the cast for very little effort.
I played Pig cause I found crouching fun when I started to be friendly with Survivors. I moved onto GF afterwards since I like him more. Pig is pretty lame in character traits. But grabs at the start of the match are insane advantages that most people overlook. It's why the old Prayer Beads Spirits was one of the most broken add ons in the game, even more broken than IH huntress. Nullifying chases before they even start is huge.
I played Twins till Trickster came out. Everyone thought they were some super weak Killer for awhile after release. Turns out they aren't, people just needed time to figure out how to play a two unit Killer. Now I'm not saying their game play isn't messy cause it is, but it's hilarious how long people pretended this Killer wasn't strong.
Now I'm on Trickster. Love the dude. Is he S or A tier? No. Is he F tier? No. Is he the weakest Killer? Nah. He has some really strong strengths and some large glaring flaws. He is a better design than many other Killers though, he just needs some adjustments. I still win quite often with him, but it's probably cause I'm use to playing old Hag, Wraith, Pig, GF, Twins, and even Trapper here and there through out my years of DBD. I never had to crutch on Nurse, Spirit, old Billy, Freddy, or Blight. And I dropped playing Hag nearly as much when I realized just how oppressive she was becoming as she ate years of buffs either direct or indirect.
Basically this thread would be like a Survivor being like "How can anyone Survive without DS/DH/BT/UB or whatever the meta is?" Crutches are crutches... and some Killers are crutches.
-
Dwight. I use to only put blood points into characters if I played them. So like originally to prestige anyone, I had to play them a ton cause they had to earn their blood points. He was my original pick, so I played him a ton and it seemed natural to Prestige him. Meanwhile Hag isn't prestige despite being my first main cause I want to use up all her stuff... but she has a lot of stuff... and I don't play her often now... so ya... sorry Hag.
-
Nah, I've seen some hooks that are basically neighbors. Even the PTB map has had some in clear view from the hook your at to the next despite the map being a bunch of small rooms and corridors.
-
It's a Survivor favored map for sure, but I'm guessing you threw all the blame on the map and buried your head in unsportsmanlike text.
Like this one...
@Warcrafter4 said:
I just had the same thing happen to me but with spring wood:
House of pain with a god window spawn.
That's connected to the main building.
That's my only possible 3 gen spot.
That's surrounded on all sides with multiple random god pallets.
Has an insane amount of random LoS blockers making it impossible to rank up(I was Michael).
And finally the basement spawned in the killer shack instead of the basement meaning it was nearly impossible to hook anyone in said main building.
The saddest part is when I pointed out how the survivors got the free win map spawn they got offended!
And I'm sure you tell the Survivors "I'm sorry, I got the map/Killer combo layout that was a free win for me." when the shoe is on the other foot?
Or since you probably will respond that's not possible.
Do you apologize to the remaining Survivors when people disconnect at the start of the match (or even really at all it can end the match there) even though you got a free win from it?
-
He isn't the strongest, he is just the easiest Killer to play with very high pay off. Light burn is not a good argument since Survivors don't know what they face till they face it, so there is no way to make the counter pick of a flashlight. Also most Wraiths aren't going to uncloak in your face for the hit and run tactic for you to burn him anyways.
I'm not even sure why his wall hacks is considered to be super strong, I haven't needed them since his stealth paired with one of the bell clappers means you get free hits on gens easy enough.

Please, can you remark on my first comment where I said anything about game balance or that killers should get mostly 4Ks? Or are you just putting words on my mouth to justify a discussion that isn't even related to the original post?
You said the Trickster that 2K'd had loss the match. That's not a loss. That's what I corrected and started this conversation. Part of why people think Trickster is "insanely" weak is cause he isn't overpowered like Spirit. 4K'ing every match isn't balanced. Doesn't mean a Killer that can regularly get 2-3K is UP. Just means the one regularly getting 4Ks needs toned down.
-

The game doesn't define what a "win" or a "loss" is, so I do it myself :)
Exactly why Killer mains with this mindset can't be used for helpful balancing. Getting mostly 4Ks should not be the normal.
-
@[Deleted User] said:
None. I played against Trickster like 6 or 7 times since release and all of them lost. I think the better one got a 2k.
Err. 2K isn't a loss, that's entitled Killer main language there.
-
Not enough. Sadly the hivemind and the "content creators" have basically dragged his name into the mud as a unplayable F- tier Killer who can barely get a down or 2 within a match. I love his design and wanted to main him. Yes there are certain maps or tiles where I really struggle, but I also stomp many teams into submission.
But most just hear "He's bad" and repeat the motto when they fail with him and never touch him again. That's how Hag remained under everyone radar's for so long even though she received only buffs for years.
-
Had a Nemesis do this on the PTB. I was slugged and he hunted for a Jill. He got her. He refused to hook her till he could find the me again, but he couldn't. So he camped the hatch and waited for her to bleed out. Then stomped the hatch and waited for me to bleed out. I mean how pitiful can one be to be scared to not 4K in DBD... let alone the PTB?
The 4K privilege outlook needs to go away, but it won't. Just like how SWF group will scream at you when you kill their TTV cause they think their "leader" should escape.
-
This community most certainly couldn't handle auto bans over reports for unsportsmanlike behavior. I got a 2K with 10 hooks total with no same Survivor being hooked back to back as Trickster and one Survivor was salty in the post chat tonight. Then the other night I had a Survivor struggle and then fail a skill check on her hook at end game in the basement, so I didn't go to save her since she was killing herself off. She was very salty with me. So I can only imagine the players reporting out of salt in the moment and nobody would be safe!
And I think the developers know this. So we will see what they cook up if they even cook something up.
-
Haddnonfield is a mess, but let's not pretend some Killers do too well on that map as well. Hag and Doc love the tiny size of the map for example. While other Killers like Huntress, Trickster, and Twins can really struggle with the 2 story window loops to the point they are really playing a uphill battle.
-
Or play Killer and mori people with your pride charm in the back. :D
I planned on sparing pride charm Survivors and found 0 in my trio of matches tonight. So instead people got a autograph.
-
Hag.
Then I read people on here stating stuff like Hag has to camp/tunnel off hooks to "stand a chance" and run stuff like Rusty Shackles or MYC. And I'm over here remembering the stun on teleports... the infinites... the insta heals... exhaustion recovering while running... her SLOW trap speed... fast gens... the old BNPS... and I just can't take them even remotely serious as I played her back then through ALL THAT and kind of dropped playing her cause it felt too easy to snowball and 4K most matches when I'm playing nice.
I'm currently maining Trickster. <3

Spoken like someone who isn't at a red rank competitive level. Because if you aren't this is true. Otherwise this is a ridiculous statement. Those who have arrived and spent some time there knows which side the scales are imbalanced towards, and trust me, if not the many many people who have been voicing the same opinion/borderline fact for years- killer role at said competitive level is anything but easy.
LOL. Neither side is complicated. They both have very simple mechanics and gameplay. And yes, the bad killer mains have cried for years even now when the game has been been greatly swayed to a different state of being with major nerfs to Survivors. The current era Killers have no idea how much easier things have been made for them. And I have been Red Rank easily, but the fact you even bring that up is silly since Red Rank means literally nothing more than you played a lot. Competitive level is silly, it'd be like playing Mario Party as a competitive game and bragging about your dice roll or winning a luck minigame. This game should never be taken THAT serious. And both those Killers and Survivors are only making the game more miserable trying to pretend this game is ESPORTS, and I HIGHLY doubt you're remotely on their level yourself to speak yourself.
-
Darkness Among Us - Legion/Jeff. The literal hype and theories (not really the company's fault) people built up for this character turned into one of the biggest flops. Besides the few good (as in fun/enjoyable) Franks I've seen, the Killer is usually just annoying to face with the mend simulator. Jeff is cool, but he is one of the least played Survivors cause his extra large size and extra loud noises. The map is pretty cool though, I like the reworked one
I personally love All Kill and really enjoy the idea of Binding of Kin despite the seething hatred some people have for them. Descend Beyond was saved by Felix cause I hate Blight. Plague's chapter is saved by good perks cause I don't really care for either lady in that chapter. Deathslinger was a fun new theme, the survivor exists. Huntress filled me with rage on release cause of the amount of hard face camping, but she and David are awesome overall. Doc is annoying, Feng is annoying... but I think that was the theme of the DLC. Oni is amazing, Yui is cool. I thought Spirit and Adam were pretty cool, though I now hate Spirit. Licenses overall are solid with Freddy being the worse and isn't helped with the gremlin faced Quentin. Pig is pretty bleh when I really look at her, not really a note worthy character.
-
Let's ask the killer hive mind forum what they think about this? Not the best place.
They have friend(s) who play. Or they like team play.
All the easier and stress talk is foolish as it varies person by person. And neither side is that difficult.

Selfies in custom matches.
Edit: Images didn’t show the first time.
Jake is so precious, can't wait for his graphic update.
Sadly I burn out playing him cause Cannibals will camp and tunnel you for a stupid cosmetic they won't even use.

If this is the 'average survivor team' then killer actually is easy.
Don't get your point? I thought people say this isn't average and that most survivors are decent and/or playing with friends
Yep, that's one of the very big holes in the bee hive here.
"Playing in red ranks is horrible, survivors are SWF swat teams tea bagging at the exits in minutes"
Then you post screens of like 30 4Ks as Trickster (so weak, can't even get a down they say on here) and they turn around and say
"That's not proof, most Survivors are potatoes and play horrible. It's easy to 4K most matches cause of that. He's still weak."
So hivemind of Killer mains on here... which is it?
-
Works both ways though. Nothing new.

The Doc ones should not inflict damage, Just Madness. Legion is waaaay underpowered and it fits its Lore and concept so why not use AI to put the band togheter on the map
Doc's would still be a buff to a Killer who is already pretty well rounded. (and annoying)
Legion having AI traveling and downing on the map would be a buff to a Killer who is already good at getting everyone injured. Add the other 3 losers into the arena and you got a Killer who injures with little counter play to the first hit that has AI to do the second hit and interrupt mending with no input from the player.
-
Not sure how people can think this can be tacked onto Doc and Legion without compensation nerfs.
Twins is already a messy boat, so it could be part of a rework to make them less campy, yet stronger.
-
Yeah, those toxic Survivors or Killer will really be upset when/if they find out you bullied people who had nothing to do with the toxic stuff and have no relationship to them.
-
The New killer could be reskinned as Boomer.
-
I'd love for Killers to have to stomp totems to destroy these stronger perks for Survivors. The killers complaining already is hilarious since they always say totems are destroyed within a minute of the match and are WAY too easy to find. But the thought of the having the shoe on the other foot is atrocious.
-
Meh. I'm of that community and may or may not wear it. I think it's a good addition though, but I'm not that into the charms and barely notice them in matches. I think of recent I've only wore a David charm on Dwight. Guess I could throw the rainbow on my Trickster hooks... since some people are already so tilted by the twink beating them that the added rainbow might make them melt into goop.
And let's be real, there's already plenty of killers who tunnel and camp you for some dumb reason. Some hater doing it for a charm isn't going to feel that different from "cause someone used map offering", "cause you played X character", "you were hard to find", or any other bull reason they give you.
-
Glad to see a Trickster main out there. <3
Haven't seen a Trickster as Survivor in awhile... it's depressing.
Anyways while I'm playing him I do notice Survivors being a lot bolder about doing gens in my face, and it's lead some of these people to be camped since I end up hooking them next to the generator they keep swarming in my face. I run Starstruck on him, so I don't get that much body blocking.
-
I recall a Pig match where the box spawned facing a rock. Also plenty of body blocking trees for both sides. Gap between the trees looks big enough for Oni and Clown to not bump into anything and tiny Dwight freezes in place cause surprise fat shame spot.
-
As someone who likely played this character before any of you even played DBD, Hag has become an abomination. She has only been buffed for years now whether direct or indirect. Seeing so many Hags still play like she is some F tier killer that needs to proxy camp and tunnel makes me cringe hard as hell.
I actually limit myself when I play her (and don't use Rusty or MYC typically) cause she is easy wins in 95% of the matches. And the thing is, she isn't even that difficult to play or use. People just have to play differently (don't chase like some guard dog) and soon enough you'll snowball.
-
I've actually had some pretty fun matches today. Had a few Franks that goofed off with me a degree for some pretty hilarious moments. I died in both matches, but I loved both of those Franks. Franks are always the best Legions.
Though I've gotten many sweaty Nurses to. Oh well, if they want ez wins that's up to them I guess.
-
I feel Twins uses some more thought processing than many other Killers. I liked playing them where I'd aim for some distance in my raptor Victor pounces. Sadly though, the most efficient and used way is basically have the survivor's heels in your mouth before you pounce them which is pretty unavoidable on their end and not that cool feeling as Victor.
I kind of feel they are in a similar boat as Hag. If played in a more fair and fun manner for Survivors, they do take quite a bit of skill and effort to do well with. If you play them in the easiest and scummiest way, the amount of effort and skill you need to put into them drops severely.
Wraith and Cannibal are the easiest Killers with the least skill involved in playing them.
-
The I shaped maps. As Survivor, I must make sure gens get done on both sides or endure a horrible 3 Gen. As Killer, I pretty much need to 3 Gen cause it's too much time wasted to patrol both sides.
Shelter Woods and the Rotten Fields aren't my favorites either.

Yeah that's something I realized, and its kinda... ridiculous in a way but who am I to judge. However I do believe Heisenberg also has potential
True he also has some pretty solid potential and personality! I actually think the doll woman has potential as well, but she didn't even get to use her potential in her own game for me to really consider her. She got a very short end of the stick for what she could of been.
-
I think it's possible. As a outsider.
Mr X is just a hulk. I like his little hat though.
Nemesis and his rocket launcher doesn't really make sense to me. I'm not that fond of him, but he seems most likely.
Lady D is a cool design, but her kit isn't promising (Lust from FMA basically) and her height is problematic.
The daughters are just early game mini bosses, but their personalities are good for DBD while they have very good kit potential.
Fish guy isn't that interesting without his transformation. I could see the Entity being his new momma though.
Doll lady could have a good kit, but she was very underutilized in the actual game. Her boss fight was very under whelming to watch.
Metal guy could be fun to work a kit around. I like his weapon as well. I think he could work out well and has a personality.
Miranda is alright, I kind of forgot what she did though besides some shape shifting and such. Not that keen on her.
My personal picks would be Metal guy or the trio of daughters, they have the best kit potential.
-
As someone outside the fandom, I really don't care who gets in that much. Though it's funny seeing fans rip into each other cause my character is better than your character type nonsense. And it's basically nostalgia kool aide drinkers v simps for pixel boobs. Neither side is too flattering or winning me over.
Of everyone I looked into, honestly the daughters look the most promising in terms of a kit. They could be what Legion failed to be.
-
Tiny effort and large reward. He's possibly the straight up easiest Killer to play in the game. I like playing him, but by no margin do I ever think I did anything remarkable to deserve my 4K unlike Trickster, Twins, or Huntress where I feel like I worked for it.
I'd start off by removing his Pink Clapper add on and making the Yellow one Pink. I know that's not the biggest concern on him, but removing the bing bong from him is a crime against Wraith kind even when he was weak. Let him ring his bell!

They already did that and I don't think decreasing it more would be a good idea.
I don't really know what to do with him, maybe at least if he receives no nerfs... remove his bell add ons. Both of them are basically free hit machines, and I never like the one that made the bell ringer silent... cause it just removes part of his identity.

What part of wraith you want toned down?
Or what changes you would make on him?
Probably slow him down coming out of stealth. Sadly it doesn't feel good on his end, but it's gotten to the point he can even wack someone sprint bursting away. I low key love the character, but I cannot say I even remotely enjoy facing him now as he is just so dang fast.
-
No. That actually turns him into a ranged Legion. Just... no. If he needs alterations, it's not to make his counter play be M1 simulators.

what do you mean good hags proxy hooks all the time
she is a campy killer if you take it away from her she becomes pretty bad
They're not good Hags if they are relying on downing unhooks or MYC easy downs. Though I'm the type that likes to challenge myself and play more active and fair to the other side and not use the easiest and cheapest methods to win. People wouldn't hate Hag as much if more people played her more aggressive web instead of 5 traps at a hook Hag.
-
Spirit. It's basically all up to her with the Survivor having to guess and hope. Yes it can feel amazing to juke her, but that usually means she doesn't have the best hearing or isn't running Stridor against a IW user.
Nurse is still a broken character, but I don't know if I really want to see her nerfed cause I feel it could break her to be nonexistant... easily.
Not really sold Freddy's nerfs will hurt him as much as people pretend it will. I hope it just makes him harder to use and less frequent. Which honestly, is what I'm mainly hoping for... less of him. Have to wait to see where he ends up.
I'll get stoned for this as I already have, but I don't like Wraith currently. He could very well be the easiest Killer to play in the game, and I'm seeing him a lot more in Red Ranks and having A LOT of success in the Red Ranks. I'm still thinking he is going to be the new Freddy. A very simple and easy Killer to use who can 4K most matches even in the Red Ranks with minimal effort on his part. No huge nerfs, but I think he could use a small tone down for how painfully simple he is to play.
Hag needs to not be able to trap in a certain radius of a hook. Good Hags don't camp and tunnel hooks. I played her back in the stun when teleporting was a thing, you current era Hags are spoiled rotten!
Not a fan of Blight, but I'm not sure I'd call him overpowered minus the J Flick. I just wish I stopped facing him on Shelter Woods. That map is basically a win for him. Blegh.
-
@[Deleted User] said:
can't disagree really. he's the worst addition to this game so far.
Spirit, Legion, (old and new) Freddy, and Nurse are easily far more problematic designs.
-
Nope. He's not the strongest but not the worst either. I'm enjoying playing him since I got to put some thought into playing him unlike most Killers and he's hot unlike most killers. I know the common excuse is "the players you went against were bad, that's why you 4K'd" but maybe the reverse is true as well... maybe you 0K cause you played bad.
Also there is nothing Legion about Trickster. That's like the most laughable comparison that's been popping up. "He'll eventually get you even if you run him for a bit if he keeps chasing" can literally be applied to every Killer.
-
Purple bow. That's all I see.
-
Decided to put some time into him. These were my 7 matches as him after making this thread.
Six 4Ks and a single 3K on the Game from a Hatch escape. I could of pushed it for the 4K, but I really didn't want to search for a dark clothed Claudette on The Game. No matches had the gens completed, a few matches had 5 gens left. One disconnect was on her death hook, but it may of changed things a bit. That was the match on The Game. The other was on his 2nd hook, but the match was already over. (1 dead, 5 gens left, 1 hooked, and him downed)
This medkit was adorable.

I love his aesthetic but he seems pretty weak. A lot of it is probably the rank I’m at, but I’ve yet to be killed by one. His power just seems... underwhelming?
He's got some very strong aspects and some very weak aspects. He's also pretty map reliant since tall obstacle loops hurt him severely, so there's parts on the map he struggles and other parts on the map he will turn you into a pin cushion. I've played him a lot and there's just some spots on maps where I give up since I will have to M1 them which wastes too much time.
-
I kind of like the before better from personal bias. The new one has more detail, but the original is the one I started the game with.

I took a 3 month break from the game so I’ve dropped down to yellow ranks and I’ve yet to see him. It’s basically just Trickster every other match down here. :D
I'm jealous, I'd love to face Trickster more often.
-
I can do really well on him typically, but there's a few loops and lay outs where you feel really weak. Once the Survivors notice these spots and run there, it becomes annoying. Main Event can be super deadly in the 1/20 times it comes up when you can actually use it. The other 19 times it hurts me or didn't need it.
-
@xenotimebong said:
Big if true. I haven’t had chance to play as or against him since the changes so I’m excited at the prospect of OP Wraith, honestly.
He's still not popular in Red Ranks as it's still invested with Freddys, Spirits, Nurses, Blights, and Huntresses. (oddly enough I've seen a lot of Pigs and Myers lately, but it's a oddity) But every single Wraith I've went against downs people extremely fast even without the silent bell. It feels weird to think of him in that light, but I feel they may have overdone him with how simple his kit is to master.
I actually am a Wraith fan in terms of playing him, his lore, and his look. But it's not enjoyable having him feel overbearing when he isn't even having to do anything impressive to be so. People are mocking me now, and I could be wrong. But I still think Wraith will see a huge raise after Freddy falls down a peg and people will realize the very fast stealth killer is a bit overwhelming for the input he's putting in.
