Bans will escalate until you are permanently banned. Note that reports by themselves don't do anything; the mods check to make sure you're actually guilty.

If it counts, I had a survivor DC in the loading screen. Someone (not me) had used a Jigsaw Piece, so I figured that must've been the reason. Once the trial was over, I realized that the person who used the Jigsaw Piece was the same one who DC'd.

No.

Today, the 22nd, probably according to the devs' timezone.

@Orion But they already announced upcoming trial runs. Wouldn't be much of a surprise if its something we are aware of like servers or freddy rework.
Just because you're aware it's going to happen doesn't mean it can't be a surprise. We don't know when any of that's coming.

Sadly it's not summer so I'd place your guesses elsewhere. Lots of people are thinking it'll be a contest
I really hope not
I'm not saying it'll be the permanent release, but maybe a trial run?
-
Dedicated servers.
-
It's gonna be dedicated servers.
-
Can you repeat the second image, but with that pillar of light from the map add-on whose name I can't remember?
-
It's gonna be dedicated servers.Never mind, I just realized I'd already commented here.

I get the thought but honestly they aren’t comparable. Self care has great uses but likewise can waste a ton of time or just not be important because of the situation. Ruin is always great and never has a downside or cost outside of the risk of it being cleared.
So it does have a downside and cost. Ruin is only active as long as the survivors say it is, and then you're left without a perk for the rest of the trial. Self Care is permanently active and can't be taken away from you unless you're playing against the Plague and willingly get yourself Broken.

Attempting escape=Killer is near
Not attempting escape=Killer is far
That's all.

Ohhhhh. Can you give me the math for how long it takes a killer to reach you after a pallet break?
As I said, it takes roughly 2 seconds to break a pallet, so that's about 9 meters. Without Sprint Burst, it should be about 15 seconds.
-

Using the math you presented, assuming the killer has no Brutal strength. If I were to play survivor and wanted to leave as much pallets as possible, once I drop a pallet, since you said it takes 27 seconds, I can run for 20 seconds (counting in my head) without the killer catching me, and in those extra 7 seconds, I can begin my loop in a strong way because of the 7 seconds of distance, I can start across the killer in the loop and once I drop the pallet, rinse and repeat.
No, those 27 seconds are how long it would take for you to be placed in the dying state. The only assumption in my calculations is that the killer moves at half speed after a hit, but I have no actual data about that.
-
@Poweas said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/434115#Comment_434115
Ok @Orion we need to use this to our advantage. We can count to 20 once the killer breaks a pallet, travel around the map, and then find a loop, I said count to 20 because we'll get 7 second head start on the loop, it makes us really effective when we loop.
That is the perfect and most optimal way to pallet loop.
Say what? Those times are for when you will be placed in the dying state, assuming you run in a straight line.
-
@Poweas said:
There's something you've all missed here. If you combine this method with pallet looping, you can get an ~70 second long chase using 2 pallets and that doesnt include windows.
I know that because I used to use Lithe for distance based chases, and I just got a ton of distance and preserved a LOT of pallets. I'm currently levelling Kate to get Lithe to see how effective my old tactic is.
But can someone give me the math for how long it takes a killer to catch you after breaking a pallet?
It takes about 2 seconds to break a pallet, so it's equivalent to starting a chase at ~9 meters (4*2 and 1 from the pallet). Without Sprint Burst, that's about 27 seconds. With Sprint Burst it's about 35,6 seconds. Keep in mind I'm assuming a 115% killer.
-
@Poweas said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/434098#Comment_434098
Since when was it 4 m/s? I always thought it was 3.8
It was always 4 m/s. That's why 4,4 m/s is referred to as 110% and 4,6 m/s is 115%.
-
@NuclearBurrito It takes approximately 56 seconds for a survivor to go down if running in a straight line without Sprint Burst, assuming they start running when the killer is 32 meters away and that the chase conditions are triggered (to trigger Bloodlust).
If they use Sprint Burst, with everything else remaining the same, it takes about 64 seconds.
EDIT: I also assumed the killer's speed is halved after a hit (as opposed to stopping completely, since the killer can still move very slowly).
-
@Poweas said:
Survivors run at 3.8 m/s
4 m/s.
OP, I wrote a short program to do these calculations. Your simple calculations don't take into account bloodlust. I'll run it and let you know the results in a few seconds.

Does wiggling even work? Usually a killer has enough time to bypass two hooks to hook you on the third hook before the wiggle bar is near complete
Wiggling is not supposed to guarantee you escape. It's there to prevent the killer from going into the basement 100% of the time. If you think wiggling is pointless, then stop wiggling. Killers everywhere will thank you for it.
-
No. This is just a tool to help solo survivors get on the same level as SWF. If anything, unhook attempts by other survivors are what should be an all-in interaction, to prevent unhook trolls.

Killers are already under enough time pressure. They don't need any more interactions.

not down for something new?
When I want skill checks, I play survivor.
-
Collapse is good enough for that.
-
Killers don't get skill checks.
-
Candyman?

There's already an Emblem penalty, as long as survivors aren't also nearby and the killer isn't in a chase. So get to work on those generators and punish campers.

######### are you even playing this game for honestly? Answer that for us, I've saw you ######### for well over a year now about this game and I've saw you stream quite a few times ,you really don't even play this game to high ranks on either side so you don't have a clue about what is going on anyway, you and the same people go into survivor threads and completely dumpster fire them if they have any legitimate concern or differing opinions about the game and make yourself out to be this DBD god that is never wrong , but yet when you make a thread and the topic even veers a little you "summon mods" to save you, ill bet you have three-four times the hours on this forum than you do the game
And this is why I often regret trying to help people and providing information I've read around the forum, because some people can't tell the difference between someone else relaying information and someone expressing an opinion, and then they get pissy at me for what someone else said.

He started by making excuses first, before he admitted his mistake. Or am I blind and overlooked something? If so, I apologize
The first comment I made addressing the issue literally starts with me admitting I made a mistake ("I didn't explain myself properly"), followed by the explanation of why it'd happened (what you bizarrely refer to as "excuses").
Apology accepted.

You don't have to verbally say "I'm sorry" to apologize. Admitting to a mistake also works. Not everyone talks the same as you @pushkina
Indeed. Usually I do throw in an "I'm sorry", and I could've sworn I did it in this case as well, but when I realized I hadn't, I figured saying "I ######### up" (paraphrasing) would have the same effect.

What's preparing for the unexpected that doesn't include dodging and DC'ing?
The answer is being a few steps ahead.
Dunno why you're telling me that. I'm just reiterating information I've read on the forum and speculating based on the same information.

When you start explaining why and not apologizing. Then it becomes an excuse.
I already admitted I made a mistake, I don't know what your problem is.

It's debatable, sometimes in congested hallways you can get stuck on a few things while on the other hand, Iron Grasp buys you more time by preventing that.
Even so, it's impossible to quantify and therefore irrelevant for this discussion.
-
@NMCKE said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/432995#Comment_432995
@Orion Technically it does more than just increasing wiggle time because it prevents you from bumping into objects and thus, wasting precious wiggle time.
According to OP, that can be avoided anyway, so it's not really relevant.
-
@pushkina said:

Then I apologize instead of coming with excuses.
Explaining why something happened is not "coming up with excuses".

So it counters boil over effect?
Honestly, I don't know. I don't know how the devs programmed it. It could counter it completely, or it could just diminish it slightly.
-
@NMCKE said:

@Orion then why queue when you wasn't prepared for the unexpected? I mean, I get that killers can be weak against SWF but that's a discussion for a later time since it breaks the fundamentals of DBD. I'm not just targeting killers here, survivors are wayyyyy more guilty than killers since they DC because they didn't prepare to go against a Doctor.
If I had to guess, in their mind, dodging is their preparation. I'd honestly rather have a killer dodge me than one who DCs when we're in the trial.

"Your powerful hold onto the Survivors causes escapes to be nearly impossible.
Effects of Survivor struggling are reduced by 75 %.
Time to struggle out of your grasp is increased by 4/8/12 %."
"Effects of Survivor struggling are reduced by 75% "
Can you please tell me what does that mean?
It means you won't sway as much left and right while the survivors try to wiggle out. It's the opposite of what Boil Over does.
-
@Arroz said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/432995#Comment_432995
What about agitation?
And can you please give me a proof?
The proof is in the numbers. It increases time to wiggle out by 12%. Do the math, what's 12% of 16 seconds?
Agitation increases movement speed by 18%. This would give you about 10 more meters of travel distance.
-
@Arroz said:

Killers have mad grit, so bodyblocking swf it's not going to be a problem.
Or just use iron grasp, it's a perk that can appear in any bloodweb
Iron Grasp doesn't even add two seconds of wiggle time. It's worthless.
-
Because if you make wiggling take longer, it will make Boil Over a bad perk.
In all seriousness, assuming that was a mistake, Boil Over already decreases wiggle time, technically, by forcing killers to bump into objects along the way.

Ofc That's why I wrote try to remember it myself. It's just a piece of advice that has helped me.
That was my point, I was agitated by something that happened IRL and didn't stop to think. Apparently, that's not good enough; you must be perfect all the time.
-
@fluffybunny said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/432897#Comment_432897
@Orion Yes, but it's a quick first hit and a tracking possibility if people are nearby. If everyone's nearby, that's no one doing gens as you chase down the last person you hit. You can chase them down normally, too, since you're normal speed now and smack them down normally. There's some things about the changes I'm not too sure about, but I'm waiting to try it to see if it's for balance sake.
I'm willing to try it as well, but I get the feeling any negative feedback is going to be ignored.

@orion so to killers you gotta basically look like it’s your first day in the job. Don’t you think there’s something wrong with that?
I do, but I disagree with many people on where the problem lies. Some would prefer to diminish the killer population, rather than bite the bullet and push for changes that would make the game better for everyone (like banning toxic players).

Orion, I never once excused what Bogeyman said. Not once. I'm calling out the nonsense reasoning that because he behaved more badly, that makes your insulting post ok to ignore and give a free pass to. It doesn't.
Your post was in equally poor form to the brainless one. I don't believe that anyone with an ounce of intelligence, and you're quite intelligent, would say what you said and not believe for a second it would be seen as anything other than insulting.
Plu didn't give me a pass either, he just focused on one comment. Since you think I'm a liar, there's nothing more for us to discuss.

As my friend always says. Think about it and then think about it again and then you can write it. I always try to remember it myself.
I'll bet both you and your friend sometimes forget to do that because you're in an agitated emotional state. Nobody's perfect.

@Orion It was weak before and couldn't be buffed without being largely unfair to survivors and making it more unfun to face.
The same applies now, because Mend is just another "hold M1 until completion" interaction.

@Dwight_Fairfield said:

What difference does that make? I don't understand this. Does it magically erase that Orion's post was just as bad? Of course not. One person behaving more badly than another doesn't give the other person's bad post a free pass.
Its like saying a person who murdered one person is off the hook because there's another person here who murdered two.
Dude, I already apologized, acknowledged the mistake, and clarified my intention. What more do you want? Must I whip myself? Say five Hail Mary's? Sacrifice my firstborn child to Zeus?
