That's the point, you don't even have to play DBD if it's unfun for you at time. Why queue for a game that you think might not be fun? If you queue for a game, you should be expecting the unexpected and don't get upset whenever you get something you dislike. Prepare for the worst and hope for the best.
They don't play DbD at the time. They dodge and wait for a group of survivors that doesn't look troll-y.

Of course there are some insults labels worse than others. But at the end of the day an insult is an insult. Brainless, troll......they're both insults. Both were bad posts. They both should have been called out instead of just one.
There was a definite case of bias going on here.
One of the two already acknowledged the mistake and tried to clarify the issue, but you don't believe in the apology and keep coming after him (me). The other has only excused his behavior by saying "he did it first!", but you're giving him a pass.

Orion, people cannot read what definitions you have in your mind when you use a word that has no meaning other than to be an insult. There's no context in which people being trolls is a good thing. Its a label that is used for bad behavior. Plain and simple.
Again you're not stupid. So how you could possibly imagine any other perception of that comment being anything other than an insult is a mystery. You're on the internet. People cannot tell by your facial expression or tone of voice in what context you are saying something. You didn't even use any smileys. What you say is taken at face value unless people are given reason to think otherwise.
I still believe your post was intended as it came across.
Because, as I mentioned in the comment where I explained what I was thinking about when I wrote "troll", I was annoyed. If you expect me to be 100% perfect 100% of the time, regardless of my emotional state, you've come to the wrong human.

@tt_ivi_99 you do realize that you can set your profile up to private so it cant be checked or compared with in anyway right? That’s how mine is and still, dodge dodge dodge!
Multiple private profiles is usually indicative of SWF trying to hide the fact that they're SWF. Damned if you do, damned if you don't.
The best advice if you don't want to get dodged is:
- Don't be toxic in-game or have a troll-sounding name.
- Don't bring items.
- Don't use either very bright or very dark clothing.
- Don't play Claudette, Nea, or Laurie.
- Don't play SWF.
This will minimize your chance to be dodged, but you have to keep in mind there are three other people in the lobby with you, and most of them don't care if you get dodged, so long as they (eventually) get to do one or more of the above. Furthermore, no single action will completely prevent you getting dodged.

IMO it's like a better Pig trap, though. Not only can you see nearby people, but you can use it unlimited times and it injured people. They need to waste time mending and healing. It's like what someone else said, this change lends to a possibility of further buffs in the future. @Orion
I don't think it'll be significant. It wasn't before, why would it be now that it's even weaker?
Yeah, it opens up the possibility of buffs, but only because it's weak.

No you can't. That's not my point. You made a post that said anyone who rated the change anything other than a 3 is a troll.
You don't strike me as a stupid person, so how you could believe that comment would be perceived as anything other than an insult is beyond me. I believe it was intended exactly as it came across.
I think your disclaimer was an attempt at backtracking after you were called out on it.
I said "troll" with a very specific definition in mind (the first definition I'd ever heard, in fact), because it's been my observation that every time there's a nerf, the trolls come out from under their bridges and celebrate that X was ruined for a bunch of people.
Surprisingly enough, I'm still human, and therefore prone to error. I've never been very good at expressing myself, as any of my RL friends and my boyfriend can attest. You don't have to believe it, but that's all it was, a mistake. I handled it the only way available to me at this point, which was to acknowledge the mistake and try to correct it.

You added a disclaimer after you were justifiably called out on it. Its a case of closing the stable door after the horse has already fled.
I can't very well go back in time, can I? This was the best I could do under the circumstances.

@Orion I'm honestly hopeful it won't be as bad as people's saying 'cause I like playing as Legion and I was willing to get a rework to his power to make him more viable in a normal chase. It's a joke to have a killer you're told not to heal against 'cause they're weak in a normal chase and having the ability to not have to chase after someone with M2 to get them down will be a nice change. I'm also hopeful they'll make adjustments if anything is too weak.
I figured you were reacting to the person who posted before you who made a comment that everyone but Legion was going to like it.
The main issue, as always, is Deep Wound. It's too weak to be a threat. It's like the Pig's RBTs, except those actually require survivors to get off their asses and do something. With Deep Wound you can just Mend at any point in time, in any corner of the map, and you're fine.

I wanted to see if he was exaggerating like most people in her do.
In other words, people are only ever not exaggerating if they agree with you, because your experience is representative of the literal millions of trials that are played every day.
-
@NMCKE said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/432788#Comment_432788
@Orion , then why play a game that's unfun for you? Why don't you play something else or take a break for a while? There will be times where DBD is just not fun anymore and that it's time to relax for a while. Perhaps the game will be fun again after a hour or so, ya know?
Hey, I'm not saying it's rational, I'm just saying that trying to force people to play trials they don't think are going to be fun won't work. Keep in mind that every killer that quits means another four survivors can't get a lobby.
-
@pushkina said:

Because I think most people in here exaggerate.
And that was my point. Why ask a question if you're not going to believe the answer unless it fits the conclusion you've already reached?
-
@NMCKE said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/432692#Comment_432692
@Orion Everyone has their right to use whatever they want in their game, your goal is to win after all, BUT survivors and killers alike are taking that right away from each other.
Therefore, my solution is to lock the lobby once the killer joins one so that no one can leave it, including survivors. At the 30 second marker, survivors will have their items, perks, and offerings locked in place which means they can no longer change what they already have equipped. If at anytime a survivor's PING stays in the red area for too long, the killer can kick the survivor from the lobby.
DCing will be punished harder once dedicated servers roll out! Can't wait to see what they are!
My point was something much more fundamental: you can't force people to play games they don't want to play. They have alternatives and will just leave.

@Plu I didn't realize he made that comment about anything lower than a 10 being from someone without a brain. I mean, he's doing what Orion was doing, even if he was doing it out of annoyance. It's like the kettle calling the pot black if I'm using that saying correctly haha
I didn't explain myself properly out of annoyance. I was thinking about people whose sole goal seems to be to make sure everyone around them is as miserable as possible and ruin everything for everyone.

There is plenty of evidence that cannibals exist. I have not seen any evidence of his claim. So I can only draw on my own experience.
There's evidence MoM is used, it's called "eyewitness reports". Not 100% reliable, granted, but more reliable than extrapolating from your tiny corner of the universe onto everyone else's trials.

I think the mini-games will become more repetitive than you think. Even if you create a bigger collection of games.
It is one thing to do something boring and not having to pay attention. It's 2 things to do something boring and having to concentrate on it. I think it'd be a change that you would dislike once you've tried it enough times and the feel of personal involvement would've fainted.
Your goal is not wrong here; generators are very boring indeed. But in it's current implementation, at least you can read the chat.
Anything and everything gets repetitive with time. The goal here is to at least give players something to do that doesn't boil down to "hold M1 until completion".

Same difference. You're saying that what he's untrustworthy (which is why you have a hard time believing in him).

@TAG said:
Just want a few clarifications so I understand everything properly.
So as long as you are completing the mini-games at a reasonable pace, repair speed would continue at what I assume would be the pace that they go at normally. If you start to lag on a mini-game, the speed starts to slow until you complete the mini-game you are currently on, and if you take too long on a given mini-game, the generator explodes as though you failed a Skill Check under the current system. Is this all correct?
Also, when you say "This will continue until the generator has been repaired.", you mean that once you correctly finish a gear mini-game, you keep getting more gear mini-games to complete until your generator is finished, right?
Assuming I'm understanding this all correctly, this is an interesting idea. I guess the one concern I have with it is whether it would be doable to ensure that there's enough variety in the gear mini-game puzzles so that skilled players can't basically just memorize the different solutions and just recall them by glancing at which gears they have available or something.
Indeed, you got everything right.

That most be on pc then. And if I have to be honest, I find it hard to believe you. It seems that many killers exaggerate.
So you ask a question, dismiss it because it's not on your platform, and essentially call the guy who answered it a liar. You should become a politician.
-
To everyone who says this would make generators more dangerous (which I asked in a previous thread and received pretty much only positive replies), what exactly were you expecting? The only way to make generators different is to make them more dangerous.
Right now they're easy, relatively safe, and boring. Making them more complex (and therefore opening the way to making them more fun) necessarily requires them to be more dangerous, since you will need to pay more attention to the generator instead of getting a 360º view of your surroundings.
All other reworks are just variations of "Hold M1 until completion". The most "famous" one is finding parts. Sure, you get the parts. Then what do you do? You hold M1. How exciting.

If your report has led to action, you'll hear from BHVR. I had a killer intentionally lock me into a game for over 40 mins once by pinning me into a corner near the hatch. Reported everything on a few different venues. (Yeah, coulda just "leave game", but had an axe to grind by that point) Anyway, about a week and a half later, I got an email response from BHVR saying "Thank you for your report, action has been taken on the account, etc." Can't remember the exact wording but you do hear from them.
That's not the norm, though. Usually they just take action.

Clearly you don't know the different between mindgames and luck. Most of the times you just guess if she's vaulting/phasing and take a gamble both results are caused by mere luck.
That's because you're not thinking about the circumstances to determine what the Spirit is doing and instead are just guessing randomly. It's not the devs' fault that you base your decisions on a coinflip as opposed to trying to figure out your opponent.

There is nothing to investigate. Just increase the penalty for DC's and that's all.
Which is unfeasible due to the increase in bugs that cause people to disconnect. This is why there is a need to investigate.
-
@Ihatelife said:
Well, If youhave enough of that: I suggest to wait when the dedicated servers comes out. Because right now devs don't wanna do anything to resolve this 😁
Dedicated servers are going to allow for a proper resolution of this problem. This is like complaining that police don't arrest everyone when they're still investigating.
-
Rule of thumb: if you accuse the developers of being "lazy", the thing you're complaining about is either intentional or being worked on.

The Spirit is a mindgame killer. This is intentional.

@RotBbI've only bought the trainable perks I want, all others I've left behind for this very reason.
I really think they need to re-work the perk tree system so you can pick and choose which ones you have in the pool at any given time
That would defeat the purpose of it being random.

Killer power: Devour souls. Triggers a Collapse and immediately kills all the survivors.
