Please note @Orion. Not everyone plays SWF or brings items. Complaining about survivors bringing perks is laughable, too. They're there for a reason. If people want an extra challenge to test themselves, they're more than welcome, but it isn't like killers don't have add-ons and perks they can use. Also, not everyone brings items and killers have Franky's, too. You can nullify items if you want.
I've heard they stopped allowing survivors to see names because they would dodge people for achievements, etc. Just wondering why it's okay for the other side to do the same thing.
Not complaining, just pointing out the double standard.

The devs refuse to nerf nurse's basic kit (ie the speed of short range blinks that in very skilled hands make her unbeatable even by the best survivors) because they themselves are unskilled with her and cannot see the problem. Also they refuse to see how poor Wraith and freddy are getting bullied because they can win with them at rank 15.
Killers should be rewarding to play. Base Nurse is perfectly fine as she is.

Why do you bring in items and perks and play with SWF? Don't you want a challenge?

How would a Killer know that they loaded up a trial of survivors that want to ruin there fun is what I’m interested in getting answers for. I don’t think you understood my question.
Flashlights are often used to troll, so those are usually dodged. Trolls also often wear certain outfits, those are dodged as well.
If you want to know more, play killer for a while. You'll get the general idea.
-
There is no auto-aim in DbD. There is aim assist that serves to align the killer model with the hit they performed on their screen. Hit detection is a little iffy, though.
-
Survivors who die are almost always worse than the killer who killed them.

Oh that's good to know, I thought I had to get stunned for it to work, just break pallets. Makes the duration taken out of the chase even shorter.
They do have to get stunned for the perk to work, but only once they've broken enough pallets.

Trials that have survivors who seem to want to ruin their trials. You are just one of four, so don't think it's all about you.

How the hell am i supposed to make the time to count vaults when i am being chased by a killer, i don't count i run dude. If the window gets blocked then it's blocked, i run somewhere else, the only one who should be counting is the killer, i would know because i have done so when chasing survivors.
You can't simply be serious in saying that survivors should be aware in knowing when they are abusing something, that's so stupid.
Hey, I'm just using the same logic that guy used. He said that killers should be aware of how long it's taking survivors to mend and (implicitly) immediately figure out the source of the bug. However, killers do not receive any notification of when survivors start or stop mending, and they, too, are kinda busy chasing survivors to even pay attention to that crap. Nevertheless, he defended bans for killers - even those ignorant of the Legion exploit, citing "ignorance is no excuse" and "information travels quickly" - yet vehemently opposes the same for survivors. That's bias right there.
I simply want the same standards to be applied to both sides. If killers are to be banned, so should survivors.

This what @RakimSockem was getting at @Orion
In order for Spirit Fury to activate and get the instant pallet destruction reward the Killer needs to have a pallet slammed on them x amount of times stunned, taking them out of the game for a short period.
In order for MoM to activate and get the extra hit point the Survivor needs to be hit x amount of times, between and before that event they need to escape and heal taking them out of the game for a significant amount of time.
By that reasoning SF would be considered ridiculously OP by comparison to MoM because of the amount of time your taken out of the game before MoM can activate to the comparatively, significantly shorter amount of time your taken out of the game to get SF to activate.
If we're comparing that is. and SF is not OP therefore MoM certainly isn't OP. I had a couple of matches where I was up against it today and you know what I did? I just kept chasing them down and hit them again. Done.
No, Spirit Fury only needs one stun to work - the one that breaks the pallet. Even then, it's rewarding the killer for breaking pallets, which they should be doing. MoM, however, punishes killers for doing what they should be doing and rewards survivors for failing to win chases.
-
They play both sides, as I understand it. And they have a lot more hours than anyone else.

Give us this link of the dev opinion. While you're at it find the list of win conditions on this game because last I checked this game has no win conditions for killer or survivor that are clearly outlined anywhere.
I was unclear. I meant win conditions for specific portions of the game. Specifically (for this context), chases.

@orion Well I am sorry for enjoying the game like this. Like I said, it's the same for camping with people losing pips and not being able to get involved. Plenty of killers are smart enough to catch me or drop a chase if they can't. Not my fault if they can't do either and the Devs made the game this way so they can't have a major issue with it or they would remove it.
You can enjoy it however you like, nobody's saying otherwise. We're just saying that delaying your loss is not the same as a win in the devs' eyes.

Interesting question. Well I personally can't speak to all killer mains because each killer main has a different problem then the other, but my best suggestion to nerf swf would be to label them.
Why label them? To show the killer they are swf. So if the killer decides to accept the swf, or bring an ebony mori, or to simply dodge them, they'll know in advance what to expect.
Lots of gen rushing, and so on. While there is no clear way to ballanced swf group 3-4. This I think is the most fair one out of all.

Dude, or Ma'am. When you come from various of toxic communities, you tend to accept this as a part of life. Toxic people are everywhere. Every multiplayer gets them. So is normal.

You agree because of a bug? If is a bug then is just that a bug. Something that isn't supposed to happen. Nothing more.
I am indeed a dude (dunno why that seems to be a matter of confusion for some people), and while toxic people are everywhere, it is my firm belief that they should be booted from communities if they can't act like normal human beings.

You are taking what I said and twisting it to fit your narrative.
Mend bug is bannable because it can be done one purpose and is deliberate.
Window bug is not bannable because it has no consistent trigger and the game doesn't always make it clear that it happened.
So in both cases you can know about the bug, only in the second case do you not have control over it nor are you made aware that it has even happened. Therefore it is a different circumstance.
Ignorance is no excuse. Those were your words. Regardless, you can know it happened simply by counting the vaults. Information travels quickly (also your words), so they must know how many vaults it takes to block a window.

You take what I say way out of context.
You can know about the window bug, BUT IF THE GAME DOESN'T TELL YOU IT'S HAPPENING how can you know unless you vault a window 6 times in a chase.
Unlike other bugs this one is random and cannot be triggered at will by survivors, besides the fact they don't see/hear the window getting blocked. Maybe SOMETIMES they do, but from what I've seen no you don't.
So you are trying to compare somethings that are intentional and abused on purpose, preemptively even, to something that happens at random and doesn't happen the same for everyone.
If there was a way to do it on purpose, or if there was a clear indication it's happened to all parties, then YES it should be bannable. But neither of these cases are true.
You can stop misrepresenting me now.
You said ignorance is not an excuse, yet try to justify this exploit with it. Interesting.
I applied the same logic because the alternative is insulting (to you).

@Detective_Jonathan said:

@Orion You're it should be reported, but the player should not be reported because of a visual bug, that kind of thinking is going to get a lot of angry players.
Imagine being banned for a visual bug that you couldn't control. That's the games fault right there, because while the window is blocked for the killer, it may not be for the survivor, that doesn't mean their abusing it.
Besides, if it really bothers you that much, you could just run Bamboozle, and the window would be blocked.
But until then, you're not going to sit there and report a player for a visual bug, especially when you have a counter play to it.
It's not just a visual bug. The window should be physically blocked, and they know it, but they choose to exploit it regardless. Bamboozle doesn't do anything.
-
@OrionsFury4789 said:
@Orion survivors don't see it blocked only the killer does I've saw it in match and asked a survivor and they had no idea what I was talking about they said the window got blocked and they ran away I sent the screenshot of it and they said it wasn't blocked for them until they left the shack area and that was why they quit running there, so I'm assuming it's a visual bug as @Detective_Jonathan said
Even if they don't know, again, according to @thesuicidefox, ignorance is no excuse, and they should still be reported.
-
It's not just visual since they can still jump through blocked windows. Besides, according to @thesuicidefox, information travels quickly in gaming communities, so there's no way they don't know about the bug they're exploiting.
-
@ReikoMori said:

The Legion situation is easily doable and controllable at the player's behest. The window bug is random and uncontrollable. If works one moment then stops the next and it happens on every map at some point and on every window at some point. Somethings are just not bannable because of how widespread and uncontrollable they are. It's annoying, but survivors can't make a window broken purposely.
But the survivors are willingly taking advantage of this bug, which is pretty much the definition of "exploit".

The balance of Mettle of Man doesn't impact the balance of Spirit Furry. So nerfing Mettle of Man is not a reason in favor of nerfing Spirit Furry even if Spirit Furry did need to be nerfed.
As another example, nerfing DS does not imply nerfing NOED because they don't have any special interaction, however nerfing adrenaline might mean nerfing NOED because NOED is a direct counter to adrenalines healing effect. Same for the DS rework requiring a Dying Light buff.
Changing one perk only implies changing another when the 2 perks have a direct interaction with each other. Otherwise they should be looked at on their own merits
Which is why I want people to stay on-topic. Don't make me summon a mod.

@RakimSockem said:
MoM gives the same advantage to survivors as Spirit Fury gives to killers. If they're going to nerf it, Spirit Fury should also be nerfed.
Spirit Fury stuns the killer (a drawback for the killer and a positive for the survivor). MoM gives the survivor a sprint burst and slows the killer (a drawback for the killer and a positive for the survivor).
Remind me again how SF is equivalent to MoM.

I don't know what you mean by boosting my opinion's value level, but camping is more common and problematic at lower ranks.
People who are invested in the game typically don't have much issue with camping, but the reason camping is an issue is actually related to new survivors or people who simply don't have as much time to play the game. Businesses require those players to want to keep playing, but when those survivors constantly de-pip or struggle to even play because of the killers camping (especially with long lobby times), it quickly encourages them to give up and invest their time elsewhere. Those people also aren't typically invested enough in the game to make a forum account.
Camping isn't just annoying - it's bad for business.
The same argument has been made many times, yet business is booming.

@Orion ok, you're one of my favourite users/people to debate with. But how do you keep misunderstanding me? They're equal NOW, they weren't before, because NOED wasn't preventable and Adrenaline is. But from all the nerfs, NOED became equal to Adrenaline because it also became preventable and when they buffed it to have the same effect, it was basically Adeenaline but killer version.
Thing is, NOED was preventable, in the sense that you could avoid getting hit by it. Survivors did just that by leaving when the exit gates were powered. At most, NOED got the killer one extra kill. Nowadays it was nerfed to the point that you're probably not going to get that one extra kill even if it activates, since survivors can just break the totem, go back, unhook in your face, and leave with their second-chance perks.
-
@Poweas said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/430660#Comment_430660
What are you going in about? @Orion by my logic, Adrenaline should give you a sprint burst the whole endgame.
Seriously, what are you talking about?
Your logic is that NOED and Adrenaline are two sides of the same coin because their effects are similar, only reversed. Therefore, to nerf one, the devs would need to nerf the other.
However, NOED has had the same effect since the game was launched, meaning that it was always analogous to Adrenaline, and yet it was nerfed multiple times. Therefore, since NOED was already nerfed, Adrenaline needs to be nerfed as well.
-
@Poweas said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/430655#Comment_430655
So, Adrenaline can be destroyed but the survivors know. NOEDS destruction can be known using Thrill of the hunt and on top of that, you can protect the totem. Ez fix.
NOED jumps on any random totem. Taking a perk just to get some use out of another perk is absurd. And you still haven't addressed the fact that NOED's effect has not changed, meaning that according to your logic, it was equal to Adrenaline before it was hit with the nerf hammer, and therefore Adrenaline needs to be nerfed.
-
@Poweas said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/430648#Comment_430648
@Orion did you just read what I wrote? I meant at their current state they're equal perks. Adrenaline can be disabled by simply not letting the gens get done. It's tough to not let it get done, but it's also tough to find all the totems without small game. You have perks to help disable both. I'm not going to bother debating this since Im undoubtedly right about this one.
Why are they equal now? NOED hasn't changed in its effect, except that it can be destroyed at any point during the trial, before the killer even knows it happened.
-
@Poweas said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/430646#Comment_430646
@Orion I think you misunderstood me, I don't want NOED nerfed again, I just break the totems, but I do think if Adrenaline was nerfed, they'd have to address NOED because they're pretty much equal.
One takes away a hit, one gives a hit. They both give speed buffs. They're both endgame.
NOED has been addressed. It used to last forever, then 2 minutes, and now can be disabled before it triggers. So by your logic, Adrenaline should be next.
-
@Poweas said:

Also, I WAS done, on the old posts? You keep up with stupid ######### towards Devs that actually know what is going on and I'll keep refuting your BS math.
@Ihatelife The only thing getting boring is watching people moonwalk and now get salty they cant rely on it.
Sure, we can stop. Just stop trying to say Legion is getting nerfed? Legion is fine, maybe even better now.
I'm not gonna put "end" because unlike you, I understand what a discussion on a forum is. A discussion, not some kid trying to have the last word when they have no evidence to backup the wild claims they hold onto like a lost child in the dark.

<3
The basis for comparison for those percentages is the survivors' base running speed (referred to as "100%", which is 4 m/s). Slow killers move at 110% (4.4 m/s) and normal killers move at 115% (4.6 m/s). There is no "BS math" here, just you being misinformed.

@Orion, my man, you're misusing the word "exploit". An exploit is when you use a bug or a glitch to your advantage. If the developers had previously mentioned that survivors blocking the hook prompt was a bug/glitch and you later see survivors blocking the hook; they would be exploiting. However, the developers never mentioned hook blocking being a bug/glitch so we can deduce that it's NOT a bug/glitch. That means survivors blocking the hook are NOT exploiting. I respect your opinion but that facts stand, survivors body blocking is an intended mechanic.
That's why I used the phrase "should be", which implies it isn't right now.
-
It was confirmed by the devs to be bugged, but what do they know?
-
Every game bans people for exploiting. My only remaining problem with this decision, now that there's an in-game notification for it, is that it's not consistent. Survivors weren't banned for insta-flashlights, nor are they being banned for Entity Blocker bug abuse.

Whoops, my mistake. I agree with you, survivors should not be able to stop a killer in their tracks. Killers should be able to push survivors out of the way, or there should be a killer perk called "Trample" that literally knocks down survivors if they're in the way.
-
Mad Grit is amazing for this very reason, but survivors blocking the "Hook" prompt should be considered an exploit, IMO. If survivors can unhook from every direction, killers should be able to hook from every direction as well.
