MoM is fine honestly. Haven't had an issue with it yet

Pretty sure I saw you defending MoM like your life depended on it in other threads. Hello fellow killer mains!

    Mettle of Killer

    You are the Evil

After every finished generator, Mettle Of Killer activates.

Activated, you can one shot 1 survivor.

The next time you hook somebody, your Aura will be revealed to the survivors when you are farther than 12/14/16 metres from the survivors.

Mettle Of Killer will deactivate after the killer one shot 4 survivors.

The Killer can only be obsessed with one Survivor at a time.

It's a perk that requires you to work for it in order to pay off by getting hit generators active at least three 1 times before it activates and when you pull it off it feels super satisfying.

but that's only when it works, half the time the perk is a wasted slot because M2 killers potato survivors can pretty much deny it. It's one of the most situational perks I've ever used.

I think you can agree with this, too.

    Pretty balanced perk.

    Right?

Well you gotta hook survivors so you have to work for it!!!!

We all want to have fun when we all know that there is only one side that get the fun. players rage quit for a reason and devs denies them so we get what we get.

It's almost as if killers can't adapt and that the perk is getting changed, oh wait it's the bad killers that refuse to adapt and then make up excuses for their badness. I guess next you'll say that it's survivors fault Legions abused not 1 but 2 exploits and thus got Legion nerfed.

If you've lost 100 kills to mettle of man then I'm afraid to say you might just suck at killer my dude. Try Sloppy Butcher or NOED if you're struggling to get kills.

Just dont hit the survivor brah. Just catch them in bear traps 3 times each individually.

How often do you even see MoM being used? I rarely see them in my games. And even then, you’ll probably only see 2 at the very most.

I had plenty of games where I didn’t even get a chance for it to proc during the times I’ve used it too.

At a ratio of 3 survivors out of 4 every R1 match.

  • MoM was only made to sell the Ash DLC more. I also have a theory that they reworked legion only because he was the best counter to it. People have been asking for their rework ever since he came out. Radio silence.

MoM comes out and he hard counters it - INTRODUCING LEGION REWORK! Greedy af.

@Poweas I don't think they're making a list because they want a wake up call to the devs, but 'cause they want to be childish. A while ago a survivor main posted a list of nerfs for those who say survivors don't get nerfed and some people were really salty over it. This is probably the smurf account of one of those people, listing random stuff unrelated to whether it was an exploit or a bug. Pretty sure their intent is to mess with people.

More like a wake up call to the players. The devs know exactly what they are doing. The survivors are 80% of the playerbase. You are speaking about powerbats right? That guy is a complete fool. He still hasnt owned me "with facts and logic" as he said. Silly response.

  • @MystiKasT said:

We all know the devs highly favored survivors

They are 80% of the playerbase so I can understand hy from a business pov. Still bs though.

  • @fluffybunny said:

@Cali You don't need to be a rank 1 killer/survivor to be empathetic towards the other side. You don't need to be a rank 1 to be balanced with your bias.

Thats a good point. But why the screenshots then?

  • I have P3 Claudette. I am not biased towards the killer role.

  • What am i even supposed to be seeing? Is P1 Wraith your highest lvl and this was somehow proof that you are not biased? How about your steam achievements? If you have reached rank 1 killer, then maybe.

  • @GrootDude said:

@Cali if you look at your list of killer nerfs thread then you’ll see people aren’t agreeing with you. If I look at your comments they’re you insulting survivor sided opinions and agreeing only with killer sided opinions and yet you call me delusional and biased.

All the negative responses ive gotten in that thread is mostly people who didnt even read the list and immediately started freaking out and like two people correcting me by saying that a few of those were bug fixes and not nerfs. I am biased but I am not delusional. You need to be living in a pretty thick bubble to believe that an extra hit perk is fine.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/442979#Comment_442979

@Cali for example, pretty much every single Hag 'nerf' you listed. Since they've been fixed by now. Except for these ones

    - added the ability to not trigger any traps when crouching over them

If this thread is intended to be a wake up call for the devs, it's not going to work, since survivors have had almost triple the amount of nerfs, fyi.

I know what you intend to tell the devs with this, but they won't undo any of these, they were nerfed for a reason. Shadowborn for more control over lighting, tinkerer so they don't have to edit the values all the time and to nerf instasaw/instashock, STBFL and Unrelenting for obvious reasons and Iron grasp because the sabo meta was ended.. They were for a reason. Plus STBFL is in a really good spot rn and needs no reverts to its original state.

And stalking survivors in lockers was a bug, a long time ago.

But yeah, rather than focusing on this list, you could talk to me, and I'll help you make a proper wake up call thread.

Could you give us a quick list of the survivor nerfs?

    @CronaWins said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/442219#Comment_442219

As said in my original post. I'm not going to read you list of 'nerfs' when there are exploits and bugs listed that you can no longer abuse.

If you considered exploits and bugs nerfs, which i assume you do since they are listed as nerfs, then you're probably one to abuse them, and in that case, i will leave the conversation because i don't associate myself with people like that.

"I didn't read your post, but I definitely disagree with it" double digit iq post.

  • @Poweas said:

Some of these are bugs, especially the Hag ones.

And some of the perks that were nerfed, STBFL, Shadowborn and A Nurses calling used to be downright broken.

Which ones were bugs? And even if the perk was broken, it is still a nerf. It fits the list.

  • @DeadGavin said:

I'm curious if this is just for information's sake or if there is an alternative motive behind this.

    Both.

    - added the pallet vacuum for survivors

    that is one for example

    - changed the way survivors interact with crows by making it so that when a survivor crouches near a crow it will not alert the crow

not too sure if this one was changed because I think this nerf doesn't exist anymore but could be wrong.

Already removed it. Thanks for the feedback. You can crouch walk near crows and it will not alert them.

    @MegaWaffle said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/442057#Comment_442057

Well your list did include some things that are not "nerfs" to killers because they were bugs that were not intended to happen. For example you said "- removed the killer's ability to be able to fly*" well that isn't a nerf, it was fixing an issue/bug that was never intended to exist. This is only one example of a handful in your list.

Please note I'm not attacking your list, as there are a ton of legitimate nerfs you listed, but you also added in "filler" like this that really detracts from any point you wished to make.

You are right but this isnt my list either. The point of this thread is to discuss and refine the list. I have already removed a few "nerfs" wgich didn't make sense. I will also remove the flying one because its true that it is more a bug than anything else. I just thought it made sense for a killer to be able to fly a good distance when they have enough momentum.

Don't worry. There is no attacking here. You gave legitimate criticism and I will edit the list accordingly. You said this was an exemple among other points that weren't nerfs. Can you tell me which others are so?

  • @MegMain98 said:

I read them all...some of them I do agree shouldn’t have been implemented (like Leatherface not gaining Bloodlust while reviving his chainsaw). Some are justified though, a few examples...

Killers should not be able to look a survivor in the crotch and prevent a hook rescue.

Bypassing Borrowed Time with insta-down mechanics is cheesy.

Why should the killer be able to “fly”

Nurse should NEVER have been normal movement speed.

The “pallet vacuum” has since been removed so that is outdated.

Was Tinkerer really a nerf? I like the current Tinkerer better than the older one. Only thing the older one was good for was chucking hatchets.

I understand why they removed bodyblocking the hook. It was unfair but it was definitely not a bug or exploit.

It makes sense for killers like the spirit to "fly" when they hit a jump while phasing with some momentum.

I will remove the pallet vacuum.

Old tinkerer and new tinkerer should be two different perks in my opinion. The old one was better than current one.

  • @CronaWins said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/442096#Comment_442096

@Cali You're argument would be more valid if you didn't dodge my question.

I haven't mention anything about traps being place in front of the hook as that is not part of the conversation. Do not mislead others.

Do you consider a known issue or exploit a nerf because it was removed?

You completely missed my point. It was a comparison. You said that physicallyblocking the hook as a killer was a bug/exploit. I said it wasnt because you are standing there, blocking the way. I then compared it to trapping the feet of a hooked survivor. I said that I believe you probably believe that this was an exploit also. Ironically, you are the one dodging my question.

Are you being disingenuous on purpose?

  • @KillermainBTWm8 said:

Some of these nerfs are outdated and if this is supposed to make a point or something some nerfs were needed there are still a lot I disagree with but some were justified.

Can you point them out for me? I will remove them. All i did was add the recent pig nerfs. Ive removed a few already that were ridiculous such as "removed the ability to be able to earn bloodpoints from hitting a survivor that is on a hook*".

  • @CronaWins said:

The first one listed is an exploit.

So removing a known issue or exploit is now considered a nerf because you can't abuse it anymore?

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/080/D2W2QHXE069X.jpg

    >physically blocking the survivors is an exploit

Your argument would hold more ground if you used the blinking on top of the shack fix. I bet u believe that trapping at the the feet of a hooked survivor is an exploit too?

  • @GodDamn_Angela said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/441989#Comment_441989

Incorrect. While not all fixes can be considered a buff or nerf some can be.

Changing something to how it "was intended" changes how the game works and was being played. If people are use to one way and then that changes then it can be considered a nerf or a buff depending on the intended interaction.

    Examples:

    • Legion can no longer check lockers while in FF. It was never intended that Legion could do this. This is still a nerf to how Legion WAS played. Even if it was never intended.
    • Survivors were fast vaulting earlier than intended/at strange angles a while back. This was adjusted so Fast vaulting no longer occurs in most of these situations. This was a nerf to Survivors because of how the were played compared to what was actually intended.

I wish I was this well articulated. Nicely explained.

  • @UndoubtableGolf said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/441176#Comment_441176

So take your timemachine and travel back to those times, buddy.

OP is talking about how easy it is for survivors, and it will be probably even easier.

PS. I would still prefer the first year over this one.

I agree that survivors are still too strong but youd have to be ######### insane to want to return and its obvious you havent played back then. Everyone ran sabotage. Agitation and IG was required because all the hooks were gone in 5 minutes. Each map had at least one infinite which could be looped forever.

  • @altruistic said:

Did you play this game when SB was 20 seconds, there was no exhaustion, and Killers had no bloodlust?

How about legitimate infinite’s without an entity blocker?

No? Did I mention at this time we’ll make it stacked to 300%, and even applied to yourself? Healing was so fast you could heal at one pallet before the killer break animation.

Get over yourself. It’s never been a better time to play Killer.

The game was even more broken then. Doesn't mean its balanced now, especially with p2w perks like MoM.

  • @CronaWins said:

@Cali I literally gave you my reasoning in my first post. :/

"I won't read these hundreds of nerfs because I disagree with one of them" is all the reasoning I got. I figured maybe there was more to it?

  • @CronaWins said:

Stopped reading after the second line.

A general fix or fixing something that was unintentional is not a nerf.

I still think these experiments were meaningless. All they proved was that if you did the strongest thing you could do as a survivor (4 man genrushing with comms and perfect coordination), you will rarely lose.

Like...no #########. If you do the strongest possible thing you can do you will win the majority of the time against mostly random people.

If you do the strongest possible thing you can do as killer (Omegablink Nurse) you will win the majority of the time. Both sides have an option to do something so brokenly strong that few things will counter it.

But the reality is: you extremely rarely go against a truly good Nurse who is also using omegablink, and you extremely rarely go against a very coordinated 4 man SWF who is playing like they're in a tournament for some reason, so why would anyone use any of this information as a reference of balance?

Saying "SWF is too strong, look at the Marth experiments" is as dumb of a statement as "Killer is too strong, look at Marth playing omegablink Nurse." You're ignoring the other 99% of games that aren't these situations. Normal, even four man SWF groups, do NOT play like that.

Everyone always says "The point was to prove how broken SWF CAN be" but Omegablink Nurse in the hands of an extremely good Nurse player is absolutely just as broken and for some reason no one ever comments on that.

Are you comparing omega blink nurse with 4 perks to perkless/no items SWF?

You're joking right, the community didn't totally reject this, just a minority that responded to your post. For the community to reject it you'd have to have gotten responses from over 2.5 million + players.

Now if we think logically about this most of the pig complaints aren't coming from actual Pig players but the fly by nighters. Those who even said they were going to start playing her just so they could exploit EGC.

The devs proved a lot smarter and if you're going to fix one exploit you can't leave another one that's been going on just as long alive.

@powerbats Can you respond to my reply on your post where you listed survivor "nerfs"? Id like to see your mental gymnastics in action.

  • @ninjamediness64 said:

I’m not exactly sure what the devs were thinking when they made this perk. Of all of the interesting new perks to counter negative/unfun mechanics in the game (he has two to counter slugging) or increase his abilities, they instead made a passive, skill-less, yet very powerful perk to counter...M1?

It's mostly about MoM but I hate the character's guts so god damn much. Of course teachables are a thing and I'm sure as hell not letting someone who uses it escape even if it requires me to throw the match.

  • No. But it doesn't matter. It will be put in the game whether we like it or not. I don't even get the point of EGC. What is the exact objective of that update? How many times have you guys gotten people who hide around after opening the gates just to waste time? It has happened maybe once or twice to me in a thousand hours. At least it looks cool, but what am I missing?

Remember the moon crashing on the town in Majora's mask? That game had the feeling of urgency and imminent collapse captured perfectly. The new EGC has absolutely no sense of urgency. 3 minutes to open a 15 second gate and walk out is nothing. If the survivors actually have to stay to save a teamate, it boosts up to 6 minutes. Only newbie rank 20s will die to it due to lack of knowledge. Only way to get kills with the endgame is to slug and keep pulling the survivor away from the gates.

  • Facecamping Ash players is the most satisfying thing in this game right now.
